It definitely slowed the momentum down a tad bit, though I think they will find their momentum soon.

![]() |

Just as a note - SFS leadership is aware of this sentiment.

And if you are very keen Incident at Absalom station is also replayable.
Because I have GMed and tried to avoid having too many characters I have two level 3s now, and level 2. And that is without playing the quest or having done the latest evergreen.
Most folk won't micomanage their scenarios, and unless you get in at the right time for some (such as level 1 for Into the unknown) you miss out on some of the repeatable opportunities for characters quite easily.
If the 5-6s had been 1-4s I'd have not had an issue. And remember the 3-6s can be played with level 6 characters.
Anyway, it sounds like they have plans to put out at least one 1-4 scenario a month for the foreseeable future. Apart from next month.

Waiting for it to drop since I am unable to get my hands on a physical copy this year :)

The RPG gameday offshoot. Kind of like We B Goblins but with skittermanders for Starfinder.

![]() |

I cannot tell you how excited I am for this upcoming adventure! I want to play a Skittermander so badly, and this will at least let me do so on a one shot!
PaizoCon also saw the launching of a new minor faction as a GM prize. I suspect that it will be at other conventions as well at some point. The minor faction that they launched was the Manifold Host, a faction devoted to welcoming and inclusion for all sorts of alien races. It's only a three tier faction, but its faction boons are a really nice selection of ones from Wayfinders, Second Seekers (LE) and at least one Acquisitives Boon.
Charli's been debating joining it right now. Of my four current Starfinder characters, she's the best fit. But I'm 3-4 games from Tier 3 in Wayfinders!

Hello guys, I have a question that I hope someone can help with. I can not find in the rules for the life of me where it says that a mechanics drone is a construct. I am assuming it is, but I can not find it.
If someone to point me in the right direction on the rules here, it would be much appreciated.

You can find it here, on the mechanic's SRD page. Just search for "construct" and it'll be the third mention.

GM Elinnea |

Question about applying GM credit: is it like playing a pregen, in that you need to choose which character will get the credit at the start, and you can't use them in any other games while it's still going on?

GM Redelia |

Nope. GM credit is much more flexible than that. You can't apply it to a character who is in the middle of an adventure. Instead, you hold the chronicle until that character's adventure ends, apply the chronicle for the played adventure, and then immediately apply the GM credit.

+1 to GM Crunch. Thanks for the rapid reply!

Aw man, did I jump on the play by post train too late??? Am I the only one with a level 1 character?
Charli’s my only high level Starfinder character. She leveled to five at PaizoCon (though I still have to update her sheet here.) All my other characters are level 1 or 2. It takes time to level a PBP character. Charli’s only where she is because she’s received a combination of in-person, PBP and GM credit.

LoreMaster GM |

Yep, thank you GM Crunch. I don't know why I was struggling to find it so badly. I didn't even think to use the search option within a page.

Hey, everyone, I have a happy announcement to make. I'd like to point everyone's attention to the list of new five star GM's here.
Our wonderful Venture Captain Hmm has her fifth star! I know she has been working hard toward this as a specific goal for a while now, so it's time to celebrate!

Yay! And now I have to start collecting Novas! Man, that'll be a long haul, but I will have so much fun getting there!

Never really played additional resources in PFS, or how to read them. With that in mind, are the races from Alien Archive available for SFS play? Or is it just the Equipment and Spells?
By default, they are not allowed. All is not lost however! There is a free to download boon that can open them up via play. The process (and boon) are detailed in a Paizo Blog.

GM Hmm |

There are Ikeshti boons out there. The boon trading thread for Starfinder will sometimes list Ikeshti. If you have nothing to trade, write a post talking about the Ikeshti you want to build — who s/he is, what they are doing, what they’re worried about in their lives.
Occasionally someone is generous enough to gift one.

Note: This boon only applies to games that end before next Friday. (Not start) So wrap up your games quick-like if you want credit towards it! Hopefully soon afterwards they will come out with the second version of that boon, but I don't believe one has been announced yet.

ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING FREE RPG DAY OFFERINGS: Skittershot and We Be 5uper Goblins
Hello All.
I am going to ask that you do not offer games of Skittershot or We Be 5uper Goblins that have a start date before July 1st (when those games become publically downloadable on the Paizo site.) Free RPG Day is not free to the retailers who agree to participate. They pay handsomely for giveaway boxes for their patrons, and in return they’re offered a period of exclusivity for Free RPG Day games.
I’d like us to honor the intent of that exclusivity period. If you pick up a module from a retailer, you may of course offer a privately recruited home game of it on the Paizo forums, just like a GM anywhere might do so for his home group. If you choose to do so, please... do not announce it here.
Both Skittershot and We Be 5uper Goblins are adorable. I’m hoping that you’ll all enjoy playing them once the exclusivity period ends!
Thank you so much,
Hmm

Thank yo for bringing this up. I think keeping the "advance" nature of these scenarios to those RPG game stores that choose to commit is a great idea. Support your local game stores!

It does look great! It appears to be an absolute delight. Note: it’s not a repeatable for ‘reasons’. Still, I think everyone will love going through this!

Bigrin, starship combat was perceived as awkward for play by post at first, but I think the adjustment most GMs have found solves the problem is to change the phases a bit. Some GMs also roll the first piloting check that acts like initiative themselves.
Hopefully a few of our experienced GMs can provide you with a link to one of their starship combats that you can take a peek at.

Most people have all of the players post at once, then sort out the mess. This removes the awkwardness and the week-long rounds. However, it does create a lot of work and time for the GM. (You're running six NPC actions and resolving the results of six PC actions!) My Starship protocols are below.
I'll ask for the scan roll as the group enters the ship. Then, I’ll roll the initiative at the start for all ships based on the respective piloting checks.
Then, once it reaches your ship’s turn, everyone will post* but I will resolve the actions in the Engineering – Helm – Gunnery phase order. As such, while you can declare your actions in the open, please have your dice rolls in spoilers.
*There are two exceptions to this.
(1) Gunnery phase might need to wait for all the ship movement to finalize to determine which weapons are available for firing. So Gunners might want to hold your posting until then or set up a series of contingency actions depending on the final facing and positioning. (2) If the Captain wishes to buff the pilot’s initiative roll, please indicate this and roll for this in the previous round, or state if that’s your default for start of combat (in which case I’ll roll that as well.
EDIT: here, about nine posts down is an example of how I do Starship combat.

DM Bigrin |

Okay, I am opening up a single table for 1-01 The Commencement. Taking new meat now. Expected start date is 6/26, right after I get back from camp.
There are 2 reserved spots, which leaves 4 open slots for new players. Sign up is here
Some notes for prospective players:

GM bigboom |

Having played in GM Ewok's games as well as GMing starship combat with pretty much the same method, his approach is what I'd recommend.
A lot more work on the GM's part but it does keep things moving along.

Note that a captain can not boost a pilot's initiative check, it is not an action.
