Yeah. There are red dots and dark green dots, muddy green areas, light green areas and yellow dots.

The 'dots' are the trees I was talking about. Some green dots are the evergreens, the other dots are the trees that lose their leaves -- not sure what those are called in english. I know the trees should probably be bigger to be of the correct scale but meh I used what I had available. It's more a schematic representation then a real one anyway. I'm guessing your 'muddy green areas' is my 'ugly brown-green squares' (well squares can be confusing here since the areas are round(ish) but I'm talking about grid squares). Does that clear it up a bit? It might help to zoom in (the button on the upper right part of the page) for this map as it's a bigger area then your usual dungeon room.

Darst remain in hiding, unseen even by Naomi and Izbahn, and draws his sharp razor.

A loud twang resonate through the forest and, moments later, a large arrow sails past Venmirl's head. Perception checks from everyone to detect that other hiding archer (he's trying to snipe): Venmirl: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 (success), Izbahn: 1d20 ⇒ 18 (success), Naomi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 (failure), Darst: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 (success). Venmirl, Izbahn and Darst can see the archer trying to hide in the long herbs, about 20 feet south-west of Venmirl's current position. He's large humanoid with bat ears, a bit like the ones on goblins. The resemblance to goblins ends here however. He has extremely wide shoulders and his body is covered with short, dark fur. He's currently holding a large bow.

The woman in the tall tree abandons all stealth. "Die brute!" She yells out as she fires two arrows in rapid succession at this newly revealed archer. Both shots hit the large humanoid. He grunts in pain but doesn't falter. Izbahn, who notices her for the first time, is able to recognize her as Shalelu, the elf who was sent to investigate the goblins by Mayor Deverin. Caught in the smoke that is rising from the base of her tree, she often coughs surprisingly silently.

Venmirl spots the large hairy thing that is shooting arrows his way and runs towards it with his morningstar raised above his head, bringing it down just as he reaches the beast.

Looks like difficult terrain so I can't charge.
Morningstar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11


Shalelu? what is she doing here?? No matter, she needs our help!

Izbahn chants softly and points at the hairy goblinoid. A glowing missile streaks from his finger slamming into it!

Cast Magic Missile at the goblinoid.

Darst ignores the archer, instead opting to sneak towards the closer goblin. He sinks down into the brush and creeps along.
Moving to the square ten feet below the goblin (with the yellow tree), double moving. Stealth check: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
EDIT: Ah, I see that we're still in separate Init order. Alright, cancel this.

Venmirl's bring down his morningstar on the beast's head. The big goblinoid loses his thick leather cap with the force of the blow. It also leaves a nasty bleeding wound just above the left ear. Izbahn's magical missile slams into the monster's flank not long after, causing him to grunt and pant some more. Despite all the damage he just took, the humanoid is still on his feet, even if he looks seriously injured now.

The closest goblin to Venmirl maneuvers behind the shoanti, pulling out a nasty looking knife as he goes. Venmirl, still a bit slowed by the effect of the quasit's poison doesn't manage to avoid the dirk's point. The goblin laughs maniacally as he buries it in his enemies' leg (4 points of damage, Venmirl is at 13/21). With Venmirl now somewhat hidden in the bushes, the rest of the goblins (including one that was still hidden) try to bring down the 'nasty elfy' that has revealed her position up in the tree. All their arrows miss but one grazes her shoulder, leaving a small cut. It doesn't seem to faze her too much.

Naomi, seeing that Venmirl is caught between two enemies, quickly loads her sling and flings a bullet at the bigger one.

Darst withdraws back to the path, slowly sneaking up on one of the goblin archers.

Naomi flings a bullet at the bigger goblinoid but she misses, her shot sailing above his head.

Badly wounded and pressed by an aggressive human, the large goblinoid doesn't like the current situation. He retreats to the southwest, behind the cover of a large bramble patch. Venmirl gets an AoO. Attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17. Venmirl strikes him and tries to cut him down as he moves away, but his attack isn't powerful enough to damage him through his thick studded leather armor. The brute pulls out a small vial of liquid as he moves and drinks it once he reaches his cover. It seems to give him back some of his lost vitality.

Too much vegetation now stands between Shalelu and her previous target and she can't get a good shot at him. She instead tries to shot the goblin archers attacking her but all the smoke make her cough violently, preventing any focused action.

Venmirl decides to turn his attention to the little menace behind him. Simultaneously, he turns around and swings his morningstar down at the beast while invoking his judgement (healing).

Morningstar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Darst leaps from cover, slashing at the archer.

Dang....there's not even any point in rolling for that.

Venmirl decides to turn his attention to the little menace behind him. The goblin proves to be too fast for the inquisitor and ducks under the blow. Venmirl also invoke the power of his totem to help him continue the fight. With the healing judgment active, Venmirl will regain 1 hp on his next turn.

Izbahn crosses a few bushes, and ducks under low hanging branches in order to get a better view of the large goblinoid. Now with a better view of the brute, he launches his club at him but it sail above his enemy's head. As usual, the club magically returns to the wizard's hand. I ruled that Izbahn had a pretty good shot after his move so I made him take it.

The goblin facing Venmirl continues his attack but the shoanti easily blocks his clumsy blow with his klar blade. The poorly made dogslicer breaks due to this impact. The now unarmed goblin looks confused for a split second before looking around for another weapon.

The rest of the goblins continue to pelt the large tree with arrows. Shalelu is once again only hurt slightly as one arrow hits her but fails to fully penetrate her armor.

Darst leaps from cover, slashing at the archer. He surprises the follow goblin but his slashing blow is too weak to do any real damage.

Hmmm, the fast healing entry in the Bestiary doesn't specify whatever the creature regains the hp(s) at the beginning or the end of the round so we'll go with what you said. Venmirl is thus at 14/21.

Naomi's bullet somehow finds a way through the herbs and branches to hit the goblin attacking Venmirl. It knocks him out of his stupor but leaves him more angry then truly hurt.

The large goblinoid pull out another arrow and launches it toward Izbahn. Luckily for the wizard, the shot is wide and the arrow ends up buried deep in a small tree to his left. The brute grunts in frustration and calls out for all to hear. "Why you interfere? Elfy is mine! Run now and I might grant you a quick death over a slow agony!"

Shalelu manages to find a small pocket of breathable air in her smoke filled tree. She thus stops coughing for long enough to shoot a pair of arrows at the goblins. One arrow hits the back of the goblin fighting Venmirl. Another goblin archer's skull gets pierced by the other. Both goblins fall to the ground, dead or dying.

I rolled two 1s for the goblins then 20, 19 and 18 for Shalelu ... go figure. Venmirl and Izbahn are up next.

Venmirl decides to let himself heal a bit. He runs up to the next goblin he sees still standing and delivers a blow (if able to reach one).

Morningstar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5


Izbahn thinks This guy needs to take lessons in diplomacy!

He then shouts, "No deal!" and lets fly his club again.

Venmirl crosses the clearing to attack the goblin to the north of it. His attack is a bit rushed however and misses the small humanoid. Izbahn lets fly his club at the larger enemy again but, like his shoanti friend, misses.

With two of his fellows down and a big longshanks in front of him, one of the last two remaining goblins runs away, retreating and disappearing into the thickets to the north. The other, now facing Darst, pulls out his dogslicer to attack this goblin 'traitor'. "Slikk Joo!" He calls out as he slashes at Darst's throat. It comes close but Darst still avoids the blade by jumping back.

Venmirl regained another hp, leaving him at 15/21.

Not that I'm having second thoughts about Darst's build, but isn't it odd that with a 7 Strength and poor rolls, you can do less damage on a crit?
Let's say you get a crit with a dagger. 2d4-4. You roll a 4 and a 1. So while you would normally deal 2 damage, you instead pull off 1. Just seems odd to me.

Being a smart munchkin, I decided Strength was a good dump stat. Even when I get a sneak attack, it's not a huge bonus, which is why I can't wait for 3rd level. 2d6 sneak attack and a chance to take a feat.

Of course, the feat'll probably be Dodge or Fleet. Hey, he's not a combat rogue! :P
Although I may take a level of Duelist at 9th level, if we get that far.

Like mr. Kobold said, level 3 might help a bit with all of that ... level 2 spells for some and more sneak attack for other(s?). Anywho, Naomi is up.

Naomi doesn't really have a clear shot toward the large humanoid (in fact, I should probably have said the same thing about her last one but meh too late now...). She can move forward a bit, loading her sling as she goes, to get a better view. I'm going to assume that's what she does unless I'm told otherwise soon.

Darst steps to his left and slashes at the goblin before him. He inflict a small but deep cut on the right side of the goblin's face. If the cut had been about an inch to the side, the enemy goblin might have lost an ear.

Miss chance (20%) roll for Naomi: 1d10 ⇒ 2. Miss due to concealment. Naomi loads another bullet into her sling and, hoping to distract it from Izbahn, flings it at the large humanoid with all the speed she can muster. She misjudges the goblinoid's position behind the brambles and misses.

After missing Izbahn with his bow, the big goblinoid decides to rush the mage, shifting his bow to his left hand to draw a rather large morningstar with his right. He brings it down over his head, hoping to crush the human's skull. Izbahn barely has time to roll with the blow and thus the morningstar only hits his upper arm instead of his head. Izbahn takes 7 points of damage, bringing him down to 7/14.

The loud coughing coming from the pine at the clearing's center seem to indicate that Shalelu is once again overcome by smoke.

Izabahn gasps in pain as the blow crashes into his shoulder...Damn, this stuff ALWAYS seems to hurt! He staggers slightly and wishes he had time to cast his protective armor spell. He then remembers the wand discovered earlier in the catacombs. He reaches to his belt and grasping it mutters the command word.

Soon his hand crackles with electrical energy and he reachs to slap the bugbear who so foolishly came into reach.

Activate Wand of Shocking Grasp.

Seeing the mage take a hard hit from the large monster, Venmirl rushes to fight by his side. Take this turn to move into position.

Izbahn reaches to his belt to grasp the metal wand they found in the catacombs. He mutters a quick command word and soon his hand crackles with electrical energy. There's a loud 'ZAP' when Izbahn discharges this energy into his opponent. The large goblinoid shakes as the electricity courses through him. It leaves him with his fur half burned and all stuck up in the air but he still soldier on. "Your magic won't save you, human!"Also, yes that was a crit.

Seeing the mage take a hard hit from the large monster, Venmirl rushes to fight by his side. He also regain another hp and is now at 16/21.

The lone remaining goblin continues to battle it out with Darst. The smaller goblin proves to be too fast and dodges all dogslicer slashes.

Wanting to end this quickly, Naomi calls upon her ancestors for aid.

Darst quickly whirls around the other goblin, and slashes at his back. The little humanoid is badly wounded now.

Wanting to end this quickly, Naomi calls upon her ancestors for aid. The others suddenly feel holy energy fill them up with courage and will.

The big goblinoid roars and turns to face Venmirl. The brute's first blow pushes Venmirl's defenses aside and the second hits the side of his chest, possibly cracking some ribs. The shoanti staggers back, grimacing in pain, but manages to keep his footing (this is one attack with some creative description btw. 8 points of damage, Venmirl is down to 8/24).

More and more smoke engulfs the central tree even if it looks like the tree itself is too moist to catch fire. Shalelu keeps coughing, apparently a bit helpless. Her coughing seems to be getting a bit weaker and her breathing more difficult.

Since Venmirl said "don't let me die" I'm going to make him use his last spell of the day to heal himself. From past experience it seems like something he would do. 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6. This and his judgment brings him back to 15/21. Venmirl takes a step back and invokes the power of his totem to heal his wounds. The guardian spirits of the Skoan-Quah keep him away from death for a little longer.

Everyone (even Shalelu) has bless for 20 rounds. Izbahn is up.

Izbahn, a gleam in his eyes, steps forward to touch the bugbear, ”You should have run when you had the chance.” he says before zapping his enemy again with some more magical electricity.

Despite being wounded, the goblin fighting Darst keeps attacking. After all, his opponent is just another goblin. Sadly for him but happily for Darst, the goblin rogue is too fast and too good at dodging blows to get caught by his clumsy attacks.

"Dirsing zog of a lugshakk!" He turns and rams the burn pile, trying to scatter it about. "Stupid, stupid elfy! What's you having to get up there for? You love them greens enough to die in 'em?"

Protecting himself as much as he can with his long scarf and padded clothing, Darst scatters some of the burning and smoking wood debris at the base of the central tree. He acts quick enough that no part of his body or clothing get burn or catch fire. And while he doesn't manage to really extinguish the fire, he disperses it enough that less smoke his rising into the tree.

Naomi is still up next.

Naomi moves toward the giant goblinoid, pulling her cold iron mace out along the way, and attacks it.
Move action: Directly above Izbahn(as part of the move action she draws her mace).

Cold Iron Light Mace:1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 18
Damage:1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

If she can't do all of that because of terrain, she simply moves next to Izbahn.

Naomi moves toward the giant goblinoid, pulling her cold iron mace out along the way, and attacks it. Her small mace is deflected by the humanoid's thick skin and armor, apparently doing no damage.

"Nice tricks, mage, but you die now!" The big humanoid yells out before savagely clubbing Izbahn with his large morningstar. A cry of pain is mixed with the sound of cracking bones as the wizard loses consciousness and falls to the ground. Izbahn takes 10 more points of damage, leaving him to -3/14 and dying. The goblinoid smirks evilly before retreating into the more wooded area to the south. Naomi's AoO because of this move: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9. Naomi tries to avenge her friend but her enemy has moved out of range too quickly.

With the reduce amount of smoke, Shalelu can finally breath enough to act. She scampers down the tree with haste and jumps down once she about 5 feet from the ground. She lands softly and looks around to get her bearing. Her face and blonde hair are blacked by soot but she still looks able to fight.
