Darst |

Wisdom check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Awww...
He is about to slip by the beasts when he remembers that even if they tolerate him, there's no way they'll put up with the longshanks. His ears wilt. He sadly sneaks back to the others.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40
Bam. Invisi-gob.
Darst returns. "Four, uh, goblin wolves!" he announces. "They's in a side-place, but the hall keeps up goings for a bit ways, then it's splits!"

Darst |

"No guarantees. I can make one person unseen and another look like a goblin, but no more than that." Naomi replies, still trying to picture what a 'goblin wolf' looks like.
"Isn't know if that's work. They's got noses."
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23What does Darst know of 'goblin wolves'?

Darst |

Goblin Wolves? Venmirl thinks to himself. Sounds like something that needs to die...
I'll be out of town until Monday. Feel free to run Venmirl if needed until then.
In light of Reptilian's limited free time, perhaps one of us could take over. Would that be acceptable, Reptilian? Sinvel?
I'm game, if nobody else is.

Reptilian GM |

Darst leads the group through the small northern passageway. The goblin and Venmirl emerge on the other side and look at the room beyond. The floor and walls of this musty-smelling chamber are covered with matted, wiry fur. Well-gnawed bones lie scattered about the floor. Perhaps more importantly, there are four dog-sized creatures resting lazily on the floor. Some goblins rode these ugly and hairless rat-like creatures during the Sandpoint raid. Some people call them 'goblin dogs'. They immediately notice the group and get up before growling and yapping at the intruders.
Nobody is surprised here. Initiative rolls:
Yours: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Goblin dogs': 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
It's pretty clear you guys won and get to act first.
Map note that medium humanoids need to squeeze (double movement cost and -4 to AC and attacks) to enter the smaller passageways (L4 and L5 in this case)

Reptilian GM |

Naomi rushes forward to attack(L-10), bringing her mace against one of the ugliest 'wolves' she has ever seen.
Light Mace:1d20+5
Damage:1d6-1
You can't quite make it to L10 in a single move action since moving through L5 cost double movement (see above).
Is Darst doing anything this round ?

Reptilian GM |

Naomi rushes forward to attack but she was just too far back to successfully attack before the goblin dog react. Darst also attacks one of the 'dogs'. While his knife slash hits (thanks to the goblin dog being flat-footed), his attack is too weak to really cut through the creature's sickly hide and it only does superficial damage (1 non-lethal damage).
Shalelu enters the room close behind the Sandpoint heroes with bow and arrow in hand. In one swift movement, she pulls the bow back to let her arrow fly toward the farthest goblin dog.
Her point-blank feat applies, attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9, damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10.
Sadly, the bow string slips through her fingers before it's fully pulled and her arrow falls harmlessly a few feet in front of her.
The 3 surviving animals waste little time before retaliating. They lunge forward and try to bite their three closest enemies: Darst, Naomi and Venmirl. The nibble goblin avoids any harm but neither the priestess nor the inquisitor are as lucky or swift. The two humans wince in pain as the animals' filthy teeth sink into their flesh. Venmirl take 5 points (down to 24/29) of damage and Naomi 6 (17/23). You all get to act again. Venmirl and Naomi must both make a DC 12 fortitude save or suffer the effect of an itchy rash that gives a -2 penalty to both dexterity and charisma.

Darst |

Darst tries to leap past his target and attack from behind.
Acrobatics, tumbling around my foe to K12: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16, and +2 if Naomi moves to flank.
Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2. 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 extra if Naomi moves to flank. Hint-hint. ;).

Venmirl of Skoan-Quah |

Venmirl watches Darst flip over one of the beasts and hurriedly moves to the spot Darst just occupied. K10, I didn't want Naomi to be surrounded by three of these things.
He then swings his morningstar hoping for the same result that fell the first dog.
Morningstar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Wow! Almost the same result! He is attacking the dog at J10.

Morningstar: 1d20+5, damage: 1d8+3 Wow! Almost the same result! He is attacking the dog at J10.
I think we may have just murdered this poor creature.
Way to steal my thunder. ;)
Naomi Fairchild |

Hmm, my computer won't let me see the Round 2 map... :/
Assuming I can...
Naomi, seeing the creature in front of her put down, moves on to the next, swinging her mace swiftly in an attempt to get at least one hit in on these things.
Light Mace:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage:1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Rolling Naomi's and Venmirl's saves for them: N: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20, V: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16. Both saves are successful, so neither get the rash.
Izbahn readies a spell to defend himself should more guards appear.
Hint-hint. ;).
I'll be generous and take this as a move followed by a ready action to attack if someone moves to flank. :P Darst vaults over the goblin dog in front of him, narrowly avoiding its snapping jaw. The goblin lands on his feet, ready to attack his enemy, if he sees a good opening.
Venmirl hurriedly moves to the spot Darst just occupied. He then swings his morningstar with all his might. Crushed, another goblin dog falls almost in the same spot the previous one did.
The goblin dog to the north of Venmirl (K11) get distracted by the death of his pack-mate. Darst sees the opening he was waiting for and stabs the animal's side, aiming for its heart. The beast growls in pain and bleeds heavily. It still seems to have some fight in it left but Naomi knocks it out before it can do anything with a well placed mace strike.
Shalelu draws another arrow and takes aim at the lone remaining goblin dog. Attack roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12, damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9. Perhaps fearing to hit Naomi or Venmirl, her arrow goes wide, and only plunges harmlessly into the plant wall.
Even surrounded, the last goblin dogs continues to attack Naomi. More wary this time, the lithe priestess dodges out of the way of the ugly animal's jaws.
Izbahn is happy to see his friend deal with the goblin dogs with brutal efficiency. His joy is cut short when he sees a large cat barrelling down on him from the south passage! It's one of the rusty red spotted mountain lions called 'firepelts'. Izbahn barely as time to release his spell but, while the cold ray hits, it does little to slow down the cat. It bears it fangs and jumps for the wizard's throat. Izbahn can do little but protect himself with his arm. The beast thus bites down on his forearm rather then his larynx. The impact and weight of the large cat also knocks the wizard off his feet (8 point of damage and the bonus trip attack is successful, Izbahn is prone and down to 12/20 hp).
It's your turn now. Map hopefully you can all see that one.

Izbahn Douvurk |

OK so this is going well, hopefully we have not raised any ala--
*URK*
Izbahn struggles against the cat bearing on top of him. Knowing he is no match for it physically, he keeps his cool (mostly anyway) and draws his wand out, the one found in the catacombs earlier.
Let's see how you like this, you filthy cat! He thinks, as he speaks the command word for his wand, and attempts to touch the feline on top of him.
Move action, draw wand.
Standard action, use Wand of Shocking Grasp
Melee touch 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 1 - 4 = 8 prone
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 4 electrical.
Charges 25/50. (NOTE: if he fails to hit, the charge is not expended)

Reptilian |

(NOTE: if he fails to hit, the charge is not expended)
Are you sure about that?. I would have thought the (wand) charge is expended but you're still holding the (spell) charge as if you had missed with another touch spell.

Izbahn Douvurk |

Ugh...what I meant to say...

Reptilian GM |

This is assuming she can't notice Izbahn being attacked.
While Naomi doesn't have a direct line of sight to Izbahn, she wouldn't had any problem hearing the growling and attacking cat.
Izbahn tries to hit the firepelt with the electric magic of his wand but it recoils and avoids his touch.
Shalelu calls out, apparently addressing the spotted cat. "Whisper, no! Stop it!" For a moment, the animal looks at the elf with a quizzical look in his eyes but it soon returns its focus to Izbahn.

Venmirl of Skoan-Quah |

Reptilian, thanks for letting Darst and I get off that 'coordinated attack'. Also, I think I owe a Fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Venmirl tries to contain his enthusiasm after seeing more of the dogs fall. He swings at the remaining creature. Morningstar:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14, damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Reptilian GM |

The remaining goblin dog falls under the combined blows of Venmirl and Naomi (their sucky AC was their undoing). The threat of the firepelt remains, however. Following Izbahn's suggestion, Shalelu tries to calm the animal. She moves slowly toward it in a nonthreatening manner and speaks softly. "Remember me, Whisper? Calm down ... These are friends ... and I'm your friend." Wild empathy check : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14. The beast seems more confused then calmed but at least it slightly backed away from Izbahn for now.
Darst still hasn't acted this round.
