Took me a little longer than intended but here is Taera Ironblood, Warpriest of Varg/Gorum who is convinced they are the same entity, just like she's convinced the other orc gods are orc versions of other deities.

Background:
Taera was conceived during one of the Flood Truce festivals. There her father, an Ice Tooth Half Orc, and her mother, a Steeleater Orc, met and ended up hooking up for the duration of the festival.

Taera grew up with her mother amongst the Steeleaters where her plae skin was something to be ridiculed when she was young and envied as she grew older. While initially considered nothing but a freak she grew beyond the stature of almost all other tribe members. That, combined with her pale skin, made many in the tribe come to the conclusion that the Ice Tooth bastard that sired her didn't only have human blood but also frost giant blood running through his veins.

Her strength and force of will landed Taera a place as an apprentice to one of the tribe's many journeyman smiths. Like her mentor, Taera soon had to underplay her skill as a smith to secure her own safety. Knowing she will not be able to continue hiding her skill for longer periods of time she is determined to find a way out of the Steeleater tribe and into a position of freedom. Her best shot would be finding her father at the next Flood Truce festival and joining him and the Ice Tooth.

Goals:
Short Term:
  • Finding her father
  • Escaping the Steeleaters

Long Term

  • Becoming the best smith of Belkzen and possibly the entire inner sea region
  • Founding her own clan/company

  • Just a friendly reminder: Two more days to go!

arrrgg really hope to get in...

    Almost done! Good luck everyone.

Indeed today is the ladt day! I'll keep everything open till midnight my time. 6am Saturday EST

Melt faces in the name of Rull the Thunderer!

I hate choosing characters. It feels like the worst parts of the Hunger Games. It's never easy. I always think of a million combinations for the party configurations (both mechanically and RP). This time is no different. Every character brought something unique to the table whether it be an interesting mechanic concept, a surprising take on a background, or an outstanding character personality that I just plain want to learn more about.

I just couldn't winnow the list down any further than 6. I tried for more, but reality set in and I realized that that just wasn't a possibility.

So, without further ado, could the following future walking corpses... I mean, characters... please report to the discussion and gameplay threads?

    Choot Othul
    Hakak
    Shakraal Kringsdaughter
    Thoku the Bloodied One
    Mogrun Dead-Speaker
    Kern Dead-Eye

Everyone else, thank you for your time, your efforts, and your enthusiasm for this game. I'm humbled by how many of you submitted characters.

Best of luck in your other gaming endeavors!

    Cheers!

    Dragonofashandflame

woott ty ...let the blood flow hahaha

If you guys need replacements, let me know! I wasn't looking for a game in April and now I am sorry I missed it.

    Second Seekers (Roheas)

aww damn it Ozak enough with this thread necromancy I just sat here drawing up a concept on this because I didn't look at the date.

    WARRIORS!!

The Tribe of the Bleeding Storm are in need of a replacement warrior for the elite Fist of Chief Thoku the Bloodied-One! Their witch doctor was called away by the Spirits of the Real World and they are need of another member.

Let any of orc blood heed the drums of battle!

Ok, so we had a witch doctor/barbarian but she had to go away for RL reasons, and we need to replace her. Rules are on the start of the list, but there are a few updates: 1) 3pp orc varieties are OK (clear with me, just to be safe); 2) orcs or half-orcs only (not an update, but it's pretty important so I'm saying it here); 3) automatic bonus progression; 4) virtual gearing; 5) background skills; 6) the party leans pretty chaotic evil (3 CE, and two CN); 7) the tribe is pretty melee heavy (a hungter, slayer, Synthesist Summoner, Cleric, and ranger); 8) Tone is pretty grim-dark; 9) Tribe has declared blood feud with the Twisted Nail; so take that in to account when building--preferences are for defectors from Twisted Nail, or members of the new tribe who want to gain recognition and prestige by being closer to the the Chief

This looks like an awesome game. I will work something up.

One question though, and it is probably just because my brain is misfiring - What is virtual gearing?

Edit - Mentioned 3pp Orc varieties are alright (run through you first), are any 3pp classes from d20pfsrd alright (run through you first ofcourse)?

It looks appealing, what is the current level?

    Silver Crusade

    Level 4 I presume?

    Level: 4
    3pp classes: No.

Classes: Any official paizo is fine (so you can use core, base, hybrid, unchained, occult, and alternate).

virtual gear: house rule. Basically, you just assume that whatever gear you want you have (as long as you can pay for it). It saves on loot-mongery and me trying to tailor gear specifically to your exact tastes and needs, and whiffing badly because I'm not you :)

Also, there are (canon) artifacts in the AP. Some peeps have gotten them already. I'll figure ways to balance accordingly.

    Great, thanks for the answers!

Do you use the Pre-Errata Scarred Witch Doctor?

    HereBeMonsters wrote:

Yes, they're pre-erata. Sorry that should have been in the "changes". Scarred Witch Doctors cast off of Constitution, because that feels more "orcy" than a measly +2 to int for casting purposes

    totally a dot.

thinking a kinecticist. Geo element. Beat down some fools with my stone sword haha.

that, or maybe a barbarian or bloodrager....

I am one of the players in this game.

Though I am only one voice out of five, my personal preference would be for some kind of full caster. We currently have only one character like that and he is multiclassing (for a prestige class I believe).

GM: is it your intention to start the new character at a lower level? We are level 5 right now.

I suppose I could try to make a concept with an orcy caster.

I was thinking of rolling up a replacement Witch Doctor.

may have an idea for something, half-orc that was always picked on and brutalized for being physically weak. However he managed to learn some magic and has been using it to hopefully finally earn respect. However, perhaps the most dangerous aspect of him is his cunning and intellect. Would probably be an enchantment focused wizard.

would you be open to using spheres of power?

Would you be okay with a reflavoring of scrolls into voodoo dolls/fetishes? The idea being they would hold the same mechanical effect as scroll, but instead of scrolls and parchment they are like magical fetishes or focus.

spheres of power? what are these?

    flavor-texted magic items are A-OK

Ozak sees Jugag go down. He grits his teeth and spins his axe furiously and strikes again.

"Still want to play mind games?"

What happens next depends on whether my foe is still standing.

    If Satyr went down:

Ozak rushes towards the Satyr that is closest to Jugag, ending his turn next to him (just to the east).

    If Satyr is still up:

    Ozak continues to attack.

Hello all would be adventures, I the bloody chief would highly suggest you read a bit of our story so far so that you can get a full understanding of the characters you will be facing

    -Posted with Wayfinder

Consider this a preemptive dot, but one that would be going towards the Orc Deity cleric who is working hard to embody all things orc.

And with that I mean being HUGE, axing the right questions and showing the less awesome races who's da best race.

This seems like the perfect chance for a Draconic/Orc crossblooded sorcerer build. Give me a day or two.

a bit of info for interested players

the two gods the resonate the most with the bleeding storm:
    Zagresh
    “the Destroyer”
    CE
    death, destruction, disaster
    chaos, death, destruction, evil

    subdomains:
    catastrophe, demon, murder, undead
    greatclub
    symbol: stack of severed heads

    sacred animal: dire bear
He is the primal nature of orcs, the prototypical orc. He doesn’t care about rulership, or power. But, only survival and the innate need for orcs to fight and win. He is the god of violent death (a fate all orcs wish), and desires the total annihilation of everything and everyone.

    Nulgreth
    “the Blood God”
    CE
    Anger, rage, strength
    Chaos, evil, strength, war

    subdomains:
    blood, demon, ferocity, rage,
    orc double-axe
    symbol: bloody double-axe

    sacred animal: wolverine
He is the god of rage and ferocity. He teaches that a true warrior faces his foe in the eyes to feel their blood splatter him as they die. Plans and schemes are for the weak. All that matters is the strength of an orc’s arm, and the might of their rage. He demand constant endless bloodlust and war.

hmm. Nevermind then. Its a big read so I won't ask you to go over it.

I'm still not sure about the wizard, not particularly Iconic and the like :P.

on that note, would you guys be ok with an investigator? Thinking a mastermind investigator could work well here... That or an infiltrator investigator based around subtlety, I'll read up on the group and see if either would work. Honestly, its hard to make a good interesting background for an arcane caster part of an orc tribe.

Witch doctors are pretty awesome fits (theyrethe orc PrC, after all). Alchemists are natural fits, too. So are sorcerers. Bards/skalds/bloodragers are great fits, too. Really, the only ones tagg are 'weird" for orcs are wizards and arcanists, but even those aren't too weird.

would you allow the half-orc to take the scarred witch doctor? I have never been too fond of witches, but I will look into it to see if I can find anythign that tickles my fancy.

The problem for me in making a sorcerer is, I have a hard time justifying anything but a blaster really. That and being a full caster just doesn't feel extremely orcy :P

And as fitting a bloodrager or barbarian would be, It seems the group far from in need of that type of character. So, maybe a sneaky, subtle type would be better.

ya, gonna go with the physically weak half-orc, still unsure if I will have him be a witch or wizard/sorcerer. He will likely be focused on sneaky stuff, always keeping behind the stronger ones, while attempting to subtly direct them or subvert the enemy. I could see him finally coming to the front after his teacher (your old scarred-witch) conveniently "dies"(?).

His patron would be either deception, or enchantment at a glance.

Half-orc works fine for scarred witch doctor

I'd like to get submissions finalized by Friday. I'll make decisions then. The semester's wrapping up, :so I I'll be quasi-busy getting things finalized at school for break.

    Silver Crusade

Dot to see if I can make a good orc goliath druid

To be sure, 4th or 5th level? Also, starting gold?

    4th level , 1500 starting gold

    Silver Crusade

DM DOAAF The weapon attunement does this have to be a weapon or can it be a natural weapon or an Amulet of Mighty Fists for Wildshape purposes?

Could be a natural weapaon (like a bite of one set of claws)

This is Ouachitonian's submission; Grod the Cunning, half-orc sorcerer. Grod's young life was shattered when his family, followers (and distant descendants) of a red dragon and devotees of Dahak, were destroyed by Apsu-loyal dragonslayers. He longs to one day return the favor, but in the mean time he'll worship the Endless Destruction by burning and destroying everything in his path.

Edit: To be sure, is VMC allowed? If not, I'll need to strip out the VMC Barbarian I've got in there now.

Dragon of ash and flame, would you allow the purchasing of spells? As a witch it functions similar to a wizard yes? I have access to spells, but must prepare which ones I wish to use ahead of time, but I can have lots of different spells? if so could I pay the price of having learned them at the start of the game?

    Seriously tempted!
    An Orc campaign!
Ah.....I currently have an 1/2 orc Storm druid in a CC recruitment....I am so torn here!

Heh honored to be up for consideration

Ok, this is too good a chance to attempt. My favorite race in PF is 1/2 orc, so an all orc party; set in the Hold would be fantastic!

I shall withdraw from the CC recruitment and bring my 1/2 orc Storm Druid (Arkhan) up to your specs...

I also need to read the Giantslayer player's guide, as I have not read/heard too much about it.

I shall endeavour to get him up today.

    Thank you for running.
