---===Background===---:

Defiled Corpse
chief=Ungukk Bugark Zomash
live near the Cenotaph

Worship= Zagresh exclusively. Hated and feared by other orcs for their perversions, cruelty, and cannibalism (they almost exclusively eat other orcs). Possess a two-headed flesh golem called the Carcass Man of Belkzen, which they employ in battle.

Thoku casually swatted at a dragonfly as he skulked through the rocks and hills of the mountain, stepping lightly on the dry fallen brush, looking around a bolder. He knew how to go about unnoticed in the rugged terrain and it always helped since the shadows would cling to him, but his quarry was less learned in the matter it seemed, as their passage made obvious by the disturbance they would leave in their wake. He could smell them too, humans always have an odd smell about them, their presence was always a constant offense to this particular half-orc. He quickened his pace, slipping this way and that through the rushes, stopping every now and then to listen. The constant howl of the wind and the sound of the mountain added a soft ambiance, a focusing theme for hunting. He heard them over the wind serenade after a short while, talking in their pompous tongue that the Thoku had learned long They complained of the hard walk, sharp wind and the scarce game and orcs, orcs most of all.

Thoku crept closer, staying low in the shadows until he could see them again. They were young things, would-be slayers playing at heroes. No doubt they were seeking to avenge some wrong, perhaps even some slight perpetrated by Thoku himself. He looked down at the hope knifes he had about his belt and smiled wickedly remembering all the hope he has taken over the years. Perhaps they had come looking for one of them. Regardless, they did not seem like they would be trouble, armed with their simple spears and hatchets and wearing no armor to speak of. They thought orc would be easy prey in the group they had, no doubt, Thoku would show them their error and take their hope to.
Soundlessly he waited for the humans to stop again, wiping sweat from their brows and swatting at flies. A brid called out from somewhere as Thoku took this distraction and charged them. His claws ripping into the biggest one a spray of blood flew in the air, his comrade wheeled about, suddenly afraid, gripping his spear so that his knuckles were white. Thoku swiped at him to crippling his leg, and he staggered, dropping his spear in surprise and pain.

The hulking red orc moved up to the downed human, a menacing purpose in his stride. The second cried out “Demon!” and made attempts to locate his spear. Thoku stood over the first human but did not take his eyes off of the second as he lifted the human and tore his neck open with the slow drag of his claw. The human screamed un till the scream turned into a gurgle of blood. The second had stopped looking for his spear and was staring, wide-eyed and shaking. Thoku held the human over his head with one arm and let him suffer as he let the blood wash over him, until he stopped thrashing and the smell of blood was heavy in the air.
“My mountain,” he said to the remaining intruder in the common tongue. He stared at the human, allowing him to back away slowly. He orc grinned wickedly as he did so, finding much joy in knowing that these humans had come expecting to find some easy killing among his kind. The human turned to run as best as his injury would allow, and Thoku let him go, with his hope.

Someone had to tell his people of Thoku the Bloodied one, after all.
When Thoku was young he was a small child and week having the miss fortune of birthing into the Defiled corpse tribe meant his life would end soon. It was only because his father was a string shaman of the tribe that they held off on eating him. Thoku was far more intelligent than most of the other children in the tribe taking to the shamans teachings fast but, sadly even at the dawn of his tenth year his was still a scrawny mass of useless muscle. It was the event of the tribal hunt were ten youngest would be sent out for a week and only the strongest one would come back to be part of the tribe as a man.

So they set out all the while Thoku knew he would not be returning from this trial. If only the other ten killed him on the first night that would have been the end of Thoku’s story but, that was not the case…

The other children wanted to play with what they thought would be food for the first night. Betting Thoku and chasing him onto a small cave, as weak as he was he could not die without doing something so like most children do he ran forward and did the only thing that came to mind. That was to bite with all the strength his small body could. Tarring a piece of flesh off the boy gave Thoku a taste of power he did not know he had. This blood turned him into a powerful red orc demon, and he used it to make short work of the rest of the children.

So a week passed and the tribe’s men came to find the survivor and hail him a man. Only when they found the cave the trail lead them to what they found made them think it was Nulgreth in the flesh. For what was before them was a pool of blood and only the red orc sitting in it. The shaman recognized this beast of a orc as Thoku right away. Surprised by the revelation of this, the orc cheered for they knew that Nulgreth must have blessed Thoku to give him this power.

Now a man but still learning his power Thoku wants to be come the left hand to Nulgreth and serve as his herald in the future. In order to do this Thoku knows he must become a great orc and have the name The Bloodied one known by all.

2, how strict are you going to be with carrying capacity ??

1) armor: the book says no. And, the arguments for why that is (from playtest) were because the eidolon pretty much became better than the PCs. However, your eidolon is you, so... Here's how we're gong to cut this: 1) non-metalic armors only; 2) it's priced as barding, not regular armor, since it needs to have odd openings and bindings to let the eidolon's energies and form flow properly; 3)the eidolon needs to take the requisite feats (so, light, medium, heavy). sound fair?

2) not too strict. make things reasonable for your character--a wizard with a 5 strength shouldn't be walking around in full plate armor.

that sounds fair its just the syntheses stats that the eidolon dose not get feats or skills since its you not a separate entity

Unless he lost it from one of his archetypes, he should already have light armor proficiency. He could use properly fitted light organic armors right now.

ok cool thanks since that choice is up to the gm as there is no official ruling by paizo on the Synthesist so thanks ^_^

as of now my Synthesist form is humanoid with two arms and legs so would i still need to have the armor with barding? its would just need to be normal armor as of now, of course i would get the appropriate armor ^_^

@Riuk: Ya, the armor would need to be barding/usual sized creatures. The eidolon form needs to be able to flow and bend and regular-shaped armor is just too confining. Metallic armors break the connection that binds the eidolon to golarion.

oh I need to ask I know you said that you will only need 1 post every 48 hours, but if players want to post a lot with each other to rp is that ok?

I my self can and will post a few times a day.

this is the first Synthesist I have made and I really enjoyed it hope to play him ^_^

oh and I will be adding more tide bits to his personality

one last question

I kind of want to...if we can later on. to start my own tribe since I was thinking with the whole blood red orc thing...the blood orc clan or something like that....obviously that's for far latter on ^_^

Application for Mogrun the Dead-Speaker, a Shaman (Speaker of the Past) who follows Varg, and is a member of the Steel Eater tribe.

Background:
Mogrun was once a warrior in the Steel Eater tribe although he was never the best at fighting. He was, however, tenacious. Where other orcs had natural skill with weaponry, Mogrun always had to battle his own body in order to fight even passably well, which shamed him greatly but his pride drove him on.

All of this shame vanished when Mogrun realised he could speak with those who had come before him. He was soon taken under the tutelage of one of the tribe's shamans and he proved to be a quick learner. Unlike many other shamans who had an animal companion, Mogrun seemed to be able to converse with the ancestors of the tribes much more freely than the other shamans and he soon earned the epithet "Dead-Speaker".

Mogrun now seeks to expand his power and influence within the power structure of Belkzen. In order to do so, he must take on greater and greater feats of strength with the eventual aim to start his own tribe in the future.

As for his role in the party, I'd see him as a flanker/buffer and secondary healer.

Posting time: 1 only require 1 post per 48 for combat because i live on the other side of the world, and I want people to be aware that I might be silent sometimes (especially when i need to resolve--that has to happen when i get home, which is midnight EST) But you're free to RP and stuff while you wait for the clock. I think that's a wonderful use of time. I try and sneak RP and updates during my few off moments at work.

Tribe: that sounds like a great idea. We can try and work that in some time.

He was born a bastard, left to die as a child, and when the vultures came he grabbed the biggest one and beat it to submission. He managed to survive, and was discovered by Ice Tooth hunting party, who adopted him into their tribe. He enjoys the hunting, but secretly longs to strike out on his own and become a raider and warchief.

sweet! Welcome aboard!!

Kraq Skysplitter background

Background and Goals:

Kraq's goals are as follows: Firstly he is trying to regain the missing artifacts of Rull(Axe, Armor, Staff, Robes, and Ring, feel free to change any of these as you see fit for the story, I just went with what seemed appropriate), he knows not where to find these things but that leads him to goal number two. Goal number two is finding the great blue dragon known as Boraksaphegirag, a great blue dragon that has help protect the Storm-Screamers from many foe, with only the occasional "donation" from our people to keep him satiated. The dragon may hold the key to finding the artifacts, he may have them or have some type of knowledge of where they are. Lastly Kraq wants to become the highest ranked shaman for all of the Orcish peoples, he wants to begin schools for various mystical arts and train others, make a more civilized Belkzen.

Kraq was born to two half-orc parents, both of which were great and mighty warriors, and Kraq was immediately accepted into the Storm-Screamers clan. Being inquisitive and intelligent at an early age he was separated from the other members of the clan and taken into shaman training. The tribe sequesters the shaman candidates because they are often smaller and weaker then the typical half-orcs and definitely weaker then the full orc counterparts, but the clan wants to cultivate as many shaman as possible to appease the great Rull. The clan often trains many shaman at once to trade to other clans for warriors, weapons, or mega-fauna, and it is a great honor to be selected to go to another clan and become a lead shaman. Kraq's parents were at first disappointed in their son not following in their martial footsteps, but soon they heard how well he was doing in shaman training. Many students are thinned at this point in training either killing themselves with their own power, the lead shaman killing them outright for being insolent, or other students killing rivals. Kraq was often tested more difficultly than other students by the lead shaman, mostly due to Kraq being an arcane caster with no ability to heal, and the lead shaman was a druid with the ability to call storms and heal. Kraq passed all tests set before him and was released to the clan as a fresh shaman right before the great clan gathering. Kraq had always wondered why training had to always be as dangerous as it apparently was, and he was hoping for something to happen at the meeting so he can perhaps one day effect the way training of shaman in the future.

@Dragonofashandflame:
I've almost got my submission ready, but I wanted to ask you a question about my build. It's apparently a point of contention so I wanted your opinion on it.

If my character was to use an Orc Double-axe and two-weapon fight with it, how would you calculate his strength bonus to damage? There are three ways that people do this:

1. It's a two-handed double weapon, and so you calculate the damage for each end as if it were a two-handed weapon... in other words, x1.5 Str damage.

2. It's a two-handed double weapon, therefore you treat each end as if it were a separate one-handed weapon, and you get x1 Str for the first attack and x0.5 Str for the second.

3. It's a two-handed double weapon, therefore you treat each end as if it were a separate two-handed weapon, so you get x1.5 Str on the first attack and x0.75 Str on the second.

I personally think the third option is both the most fair to the player and the most reasonble as far as any overpowered-ness. All three are valid theories based on how you interpret the two-weapon fighting rules (mostly because the only line about double weapons only mentions ATTACK penalties, and mentions nothing about DAMAGE bonuses or penalties). What do you think?

I forget were it is but by the raw it is

2. It's a two-handed double weapon, therefore you treat each end as if it were a separate one-handed weapon, and you get x1 Str for the first attack and x0.5 Str for the second.

since by those same rules you would have to enchant each end as if it were a separate weapon

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

The only thing that doesn't quite match up with that is this part:

CRB Equipment wrote:

Double: You can use a double weapon to fight as if fighting with two weapons, but if you do, you incur all the normal attack penalties associated with fighting with two weapons, just as if you were using a one-handed weapon and a light weapon. You can choose to wield one end of a double weapon two-handed, but it cannot be used as a double weapon when wielded in this way—only one end of the weapon can be used in any given round.

Since it doesn't specifically mention DAMAGE penalties (which I would consider the 1/2 Strength bonus on off-hand to be) then it can be argued that the damage is still that of a two-handed weapon.

to quote someone in another thread

ashrubel wrote:

The section you say refers to attack rolls does not say it only refers to atrack roll penalties. It says attack penalties. A penalty to damage bonus is a penalty applied on an attack. Stop inferring implications without clear wording.

"you incur all the normal attack penalties" does not just reference "penalties to your attack roll." If it did, thats how it would have been worded.

For instance: if something said: "you take a -4 penalty to damage on you first attack each round"

And you had a spell active that read: "ignore all penalties on your first attack each round"

I would bet you would argue they interact to preven that damage penalty...

In this case. The .5 offhand/1.0 mainhand is technically a penalty for using multi attacks/offhand weapons.

Here is the place that talks about damage bonus, under strength....

Quote:
Damage rolls when using a melee weapon or a thrown weapon, including a sling. (Exceptions: Off-hand attacks receive only half the character's Strength bonus, while two-handed attacks receive 1–1/2 times the Strength bonus. A Strength penalty, but not a bonus, applies to attacks made with a bow that is not a composite bow.)

Says nothing about double-weapons, thus they must fall under one section: One handed and off-handed, or two-handed.

If they are two-handed, the how the crap are you getting an off-hand attack with that other end???

That means they are one-handed and off-handed, thus incur only a 1.0/0.5 str. Bonus to damage.

Show me where it describes attacking with a double weapon as a two-handed attack. It mentions that only once, an then it forces you to use only one head of the weapon in th attack, denying you your off-hand attacks.

Wielding a weapon with two hands does not a two-handed attack make. Otherwise we could do the same with Light weapons. Read where it allows you to do that...

Quote:
Light, One-Handed, and Two-Handed Melee Weapons : This designation is a measure of how much effort it takes to wield a weapon in combat.

...Quote:

Light, One-Handed, and Two-Handed Melee Weapons : This designation is a measure of how much effort it takes to wield a weapon in combat. It indicates whether a melee weapon, when wielded by a character of the weapon's size category, is considered a light weapon, a one-handed weapon, or a two-handed weapon.

...

Two-Handed : Two hands are required to use a two-handed melee weapon effectively. Apply 1-1/2 times the character's Strength bonus to damage rolls for melee attacks with such a weapon.

And then double-weapons

Quote:

Double Weapons : Dire flails, dwarven urgroshes, gnome hooked hammers, orc double axes, quarterstaves, and two-bladed swords are double weapons. A character can fight with both ends of a double weapon as if fighting with two weapons, but he incurs all the normal attack penalties associated with two-weapon combat , just as though the character were wielding a one-handed weapon and a light weapon.

The character can also choose to use a double weapon two-handed, attacking with only one end of it. A creature wielding a double weapon in one hand can't use it as a double weapon—only one end of the weapon can be used in any given round.

Looks pretty clear. Used to make off-hand attacks, its treated like a one-handed/off-hand wielded weapon. No 1.5 str. Bonus for U!

in the end as always its up to the GM ^_^

Fair enough, that's definitely a valid argument. I'd like to see the GM's decision before I acquiesce completely though :)

I would like to Submit Rokka Skystone for this Campain

I choose door number 3) 1.5 for the first attack and door .75 for the second attack.

The rules, as written are that the first attack is a one-handed weapon (1.0 bonus) and the second attack is a light off hand weapons (.5 bonus). This seems very frail to me. since it IS wielded in hands. And, why can' someone do over-handed strike in 2 hands and then thwap someone the butt of the quaterstaff in the same round? Movies do that all the time. Maybe it's not realistic, but i've never seen one of my Power Word: Kill spells go off during rush hour traffic, either. So there you have it. 1/5 for first attack, and .75 for the second.

and that's why gm wins ^_^

Excellent! And here is my submission, for your approval:

Kern Dead-eye:

Kern was born to a druidic chieftan of a relatively non-confrontational tribe. His mother was a human slave, and he was of course taken from her at birth and raised as an orc. His father taught him to respect the natural order of things, including the way of the orcish tribes and the power of Rull the Thunderer. At the age of ten, Kern's left eye was gouged out in a fight with an orcish youth, who Kern killed in retribution. He was sent by his father into the wilderness to live for a month as penance, and in the hazy dusk of evening, with his one good eye he spotted a young warcat of Rull, attempting to stalk him. Knowing that this must be a test from the Thunderer, Kern acted as if he was nodding off to sleep, then when the cat pounced, he seized it and wrestled it to the ground. His assertion of dominance was enough for the warcat to recognize him as its master, and he named her Grell.
After returning to his tribe with Grell at his heels and newfound understanding of survival in the wilderness, Kern was taught by one of the tribe's shaman to harness the true power of the Thunderer into spells. Kern's father was paying attention to his training, and began to suspect that Kern could best him in combat. Knowing this, he brought Kern before him and gave him a task... spread the respect for the wilderness to another tribe, and bring them into the fold.
So, having been restless anyway, Kern set off to fulfill his task, to insert himself into a new tribe and try to indoctrinate them into the way of Rull.

Made a profile for Hrassen.

Question: Do you want me to teach my companion tricks in game (not counting the bonus trick), or can he start with his 6 tricks?

Definitely dotting.

Gm, what's the word on religion?
Is Zon-Kuthon a present power here?

Question I used the CORE Barbarian for this build. But with the new Unchained bookthat came out, would it be ok to switch to the UNCHAINED Barbarian?

Heres the change to it

Unchained Barbarian:

Unchained: The unchained barbarian is similar in many
regards to its counterpart in the Core Rulebook—she still goes
into a rage and gains rage powers, but many of the details
have been changed. Rage now grants temporary hit points
and static bonuses on attack and damage rolls, rather than
bonuses to ability scores that force players to recalculate a
number of statistics. Additionally, many rage powers now
function whenever the barbarian is raging, as opposed to
just once per rage. Finally, the overall utility of many of the
rage powers has been adjusted to make them more useful
and interesting.

@Hrassen: you can just know the starting tricks. If you want to RP teaching more tricks, go for it.
@bigrig107: Zon Kuthon doesn't really have a big presence in Belkzen (according to the books), but meh, that shouldn't stop you. If you want an orc-deity, Lanishra is probably the closest of the racial gods who fits Zon-Kuthon's profile.

@Rokka: i haven't had a chance to read the book yet, so gonna rule no. If/When i get it and i read it i'll let rebuilds happen if peeps want.

Updated Kraq's background a bit, tied in the goals of his character to his back story more. I also changed his alignment from NE to LE, seemed to fit in more with his goals.

@Cartmanbeck: looks interesting!!

on that note!! Soo excited guys to see all these submissions! only 3 more days left!

I was thinking an orphaned, enslaved-by-giants orc that broke free and, taking one of the chains near him, destroyed his slavers, and heard Zon-Kuthon talking to him.

Probably made a pilgrimage to Nidal to be trained.

Probably Warpriest.

Sounds good I'll submit Rokka as is then

There are so many priest-like or divination based submissions.

The orcs love their gods! The six selections or so are going to be GREAT!

Yeah looking forward to this campaign for sure.
