Adreris Keffle |
I dunno about many rounds-might depend on how large the brothel is - but it seems if Hali was taken right away and we had to wait, she might have time to dance. Keffle will not wait if he doesn't have to. The sooner the count is no longer in cgarge, the sooner the wedding happens, and he can move on with forcing fiends to kill each other.

Redoing the entrance into the room in light of recent events:
I don't know if the fascinate is just RP or intended to have an actual mechanical advantage, but casting a spell would cancel it.
Fascinated: A fascinated creature is entranced by a supernatural or spell effect. The creature stands or sits quietly, taking no actions other than to pay attention to the fascinating effect, for as long as the effect lasts. It takes a –4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat, such as a hostile creature approaching, allows the fascinated creature a new saving throw against the fascinating effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a ranged weapon at the fascinated creature, automatically breaks the effect. A fascinated creature's ally may shake it free of the spell as a standard action.
Halistria D'Harvash enters the room, and tries to convince the count that she is a gift. He buys the story, hook line and sinker. She then begins to dance for him. At about this time a second guard enters, and informs him that others who are well armed are demanding his attention. He is not happy about it, but he agrees to see them. Halistria continues to dance, and the count feels strangely distracted, but does notice the casting. There is not much he can do however, except try to resist it, and resist it he does.
Sense Motive for Halistria:1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35
Halistira, with the way the guard worded his message it seems that there was some type of hint given to Saleno
Will Save for the Spell:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Saleno becomes even more outrated outraged. "Who are you, and what tricks are you up to? You will pay for this...."
Before he can finish his tirade however the door opens, and the rest of Halistria's companions are there now. Keffle has 2 beautiful, but strange looking women with him.
He then then begins to tell the count what the terms of engagement are.
The count is visibly afraid, and while he tempers his voice the anger is still very much apparent.
Saleno says, "Why are you bothering me? The problem will be taken care of shortly. Those people with scythes are citizens of this town, just like the young lady at the front desk. What they do is in our best interest. You could probably kill me, but royal Taldan blood
flows through my veins, and this town can not survive without me. My advisor Eldran Tesh will handle the dragon."

No love for my Intimidate check?
Practiced in the skill of aggresive debate, Keffle holds his hand out dismissively.Leadership is required here. Celebrating in a brothel and leaving such an enemy to a single advisor makes you unworthy. Imprisoning your people while you frolick uselessly marks you as corrupt. You are no longer in charge here. We will summon this advisor and the town will determine whether he is fit for your station. Now, stand and come, or these ladies will drag you through the rubble before all.
Also note, there are three erinyes. I am a malconvoker (+1 summoned) with the suprior summoning feat (+1 when I summon more than one creature).

When I said "The count is visibly afraid, and while he tempers his voice the anger is still very much apparent." I was referring to your intimidate check. I do see now, that I was not very clear.
The site is very slow right now also. It just took me 10 minutes to get this page to come up.
Kazimier Tumaz |
Kaz tempted to follow Thogg and see what trouble he is going to get in, he decides better and thinks he should visit this place when all of this dragon business is over and follows Adreris to give him more back up.
Watcher Uatu |
As you are escorting Saleno a small number of people are outside quickly moving from one place to the next, until the see you. They then plead with you to let him go, saying things will only be made worse.
1d100 ⇒ 25
You do not encounter any problems on your way to the temple. Finding yourselves at the entrance of the temple, what do you wish to do?
Halistria D'Harvash |
What drow woman? Hali appears as a "normal" if exceptionally beautiful elf.
Hali shoots Keffle a dirty look. Under her breath you hear her mutter, Men! Sound and fury signifying nothing. I could have obtained the counts cooperation without endangering the townspeople. But you just had to prove that your... weapon... was larger.
Knowlege Nobility re Tesh: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Knowledge Local re Seat of Power: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
She quickly brushes her dress, and it returns to its original more modest lines.
To the woman with the count (who I'm guessing succumbed to fascinate and suggestion easily)she says, You are very sleepy, and when you wake you will remember none of this.
::What do you know of this "Tesh"? And can you get Thogg? We're going to go smash people now, apparently.::
Thogg Smashes-What-He-Hates |
Thogg is not happy about the lack of time he might get in the brothel but comes along anyway, grumbling under his breath and shooting hard looks at anyone who might approach the group while they travel.
The lack of interruption on the way may have had something to do with the hulking, visibly annoyed barbarian.

The party enters the temple and find themselves in a hallway.
The walls of Abadar’s temple are covered with mosaic images of the fruits of civilization—law, justice, and commerce. The tall, narrow
windows are filled with panes of yellow glass, powdered on the outside with ash. All is silent and still. A set of golden doors at the far end
of the hall bears the seal of Abadar, stained with dried blood. Smaller doors stand to either side, unmarked and unstained.
Adreris Keffle |
Wait. Keffle studies the doors for several seconds. The count is aware of what is going on here. He led us to this place.
Turning to his erinyes companios, he nods and they move towsrd the bloodstained doors. He looks to the count. We have come to aid and restore your city count. You wouldn't guide your rescuers to an ambush, would you?
Perception 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (20) + 24 = 44
Watcher Uatu |
Lotus stops and backs away, looking at Keffle then the count.
"thats and odd way to say some thing count, I have a feeling you may be under a glamor of some kind"
He was being snarky because Keffle said that the group was his rescuers, when he was perfectly fine in the brothel. He is definitely not happy with Keffle's use of the word "rescuer"
Watcher Uatu |
I did not forget the game. I just wanted to make sure everyone had time to respond.
As you(the party) open the double doors they see a small ante chamber with another pair of doors directly ahead. Chiseled into the floor of the antechamber is a strange magical symbol reminiscent of a skull
and dragon.
A red mist rises from the floor.
Roll a knowledge religion check
Roll a perception check
Roll initiative and place yourselves on the map. Combat starts at 2am Friday Eastern Standard time, a little over 24 hours from now.
PS:The black lines such as the ones that exist at j14/15 and K15/15 are doors. The place where the map changes from blue to grey signifies a different room, and there is a wall there. I just don't know how to put a wall there. The only way to get from one room to the room with the mist is through the door unless you have a magical way to bypass the wall.
Halistria D'Harvash |
And here we go! @TikTik: Is anything simply normal in this town of yours?
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Perception Check: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
also adding (disregard if duplicates of above):
Knowledge Arcana for symbol on the floor: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
KA for Red Mist: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
How high is ceiling?
Watcher Uatu |
I figured out how to work the trap. I will try to wait for everyone. This encounter seems to be more dangerous than I thought it would be. I might have to wait for everyone.
The symbol/seal on the floor is a magical trap, and the seal actually covers the entire floor not just one square.
The red mist is a Hungry Mist.
A hungry mist forms from a host of restless, angry spirits, typically the result of a catastrophe that suddenly killed hundreds. Mindless in its fury, this ghostly swarm seeks to drain the life from any creature it encounters. The mist feeds on blood, drawing it through its victim’s skin, leaving oozing purple-black wounds like cracked blisters.
It has the incorporeal and swarm subtypes.
Immune incorporeal immunities, swarm immunities, undead immunities.
Blood Drain (Ex) Whenever the hungry mist damages a victim with its swarm attack, it inflicts 1 point of Constitution drain. With each such successful attack, it gains 5 temporary hit points.
It can reshape itself to cover the same amount of space as a large creature allowing it to engulf several creatures at one.
