Been a while since he posted. I hope his sickness haven't gotten worse. I also hope he hasn't changed his mind about the negativity being too much...

If applications are still open, I would LOVE to play in this.

OK, to start with, I know we aren't crafting before the game, but I do want to make someone who CAN craft. On that note, two questions.

Question 1; how far does Master Craftsman go in letting you use Craft Wondrous Item? If I had Gemcutting, could I use it to craft enchanted items besides gems by binding the magic to the gems and setting them into the item? For instance, sewing tiny onyxes into the fabric of a portable hole, making a stone horse with rubies for eyes, etc, or am I stuck with only crafting magical gems like the Elemental Gems and Ioun Stones?

Question 2: Can I say I crafted my gear but still pay full market value during creation? Flavor only.

Heard from the GM, said he was tied up with a term paper most of today. Hoping that means he'll be positing late tonight or tomorrow.

Still waiting for the warlock conversion.

GM you have almost 30 other GM aliases but only one of them even makes it over 100 posts. Can you give any sort of insurance that you'll be able to see this game to completion?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Okay folks, I finally got done with my work for Jan term. Now, to help summarize things, let me copy-paste what I placed in my Kingmaker campaign.

I wrote:

Okay, so I'm back. As I was telling Arawn, Jan term final essays require a bit of work. That said, I apologize that I was not more transparent with that bit.

I also had a raid scheduled last night on WoW for the mythic difficulty version of Hellfire Citadel, which pretty much required my character's presence and could not be rescheduled by several members about a month or so ago, so that people could get their limited time grove warden mounts.

Now there is finally time to be able to post!

I talked with Arawn quite a bit since I woke up around 4:00 PM EST today about the campaign, my obligations, how I can fix things so that you guys do not feel abandoned, and such things. I originally, when I read the thread earlier, got the basic gist of what everyone was saying, but misconstrued the proposed solution. I thought that people were wanting a set time frame of when people can post so that there could be multiple posts back-to-back. However, after trying to figure out a time frame idea, I spoke to Arawn and I found out that I misread that.

So now I am here just to ask you a simple question: if I can start posting as per normal, is everyone still game for playing in this campaign?

I also want to alleviate fears of those who think that I am stringing them along. If Arawn is okay with it, would you like me to send a series of pictures with my antibiotics, essay, and grove warden mount, so that he can confirm to you all/share on Skype with you all that I have had legitimate reasons for being absent all these days, even if my notifications to you, or lack thereof, were lackluster? I can even write 'JIGGYWIGGYZ' on a paper next to the items so you know that I didn't fish for a picture online.

I really am trying to rebuild trust in this community after the unfortunate circumstances that caused me to lose said trust. I know it may not seem like it, but I really am.

I am going to answer questions from you all in a few moments, but I just wanted to post this so that you could get a decent explanation.

At the moment, I have only two questions:

1) Do you have a rough estimate for when you plan to close recruitment? (I think most characters have been made and posted by now)

2) How do you define "posting as per normal"? XD Personally, I just try to get a post in each day, even if it's something small.

Deadline for people joining the thread is 2 days. Deadline to have character CONCEPTS finished is one week.

Fury of the Tempest, Shadow-Traced was one of the templates on the ban list, primarily because there are ways that the rules could be bent to have permanent access to your shadow clones. That would make it a super-leadership ability and leadership by itself is a no-no.

Philo Pharynx, that Warlock conversion should be to you tomorrow.

Tenro, there are lots of ways to get multiple arms!

Al Harrington, the way that it works is detailed in the original post. It it basically level=level, with CR taking up CR*1.5 levels from the gestalt (And must be fit in one side of the gestalt,).

Rednal, that phrase was intended for my Kingmaker campaign, since I was originally posting 2+ times day. But yeah, 2+ posts per day is what I would prefer to do.

*Coughs* I think we can safely say my concepts are finished. XD Unless I get hit with inspiration again, anyway.

*Is totally the kind of person who enjoys making characters*

I am soo just like Rednal(save for the actually making characters part. I enjoy it, but not nearly as much as Red seems to, LOL), but godsdamn to have a ton of different concepts floating around for this game:

My original idea was a Slayer/Inquisitor/Ranger who was a holy killer type.

Then I was gonna go Nature Shaman/Barbarian/Ranger for a spirit of the wyld fae.

Currently, what I am actually stating up the is the super poisoner concept.

However, I read through a recruitment for a level 20 gestalt 'kill the gods' sorta game, and that made me wistful for Veldrin, my uber necromancer,

AND

I kinda wanna build a teleportation dervish using Stalker and Veiled Moon maneuvers coupled with the Dimensional Agility tree...

I have problems, I know.

Divinitus, good to hear from you again. I am ready too with Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz (and would welcome any feedback).

Her fluff was done a while ago and her crunch is 90% there now as well. She's ready to travel the Planescape in search of unique ingredients with which to create the ultimate fizzy drink. Fluff and Crunch are both in her profile. She won't be able to complete on the front lines with the most templated/monstrous party members but I think she's interesting and versatile. She'll be a great scout, healer, and bomber.

Rednal, well that might prove to be your downfall, because another blast from the past has been preparing to make a return, someone who you may remember well from years ago, a certain... masked goddess with a red tiger companion. :P I was told not to say anything, so act surprised! You didn't hear a word from me!

Monkeygod, trust me, I know! That's why I have to this day have only had two characters accepted into a game, because I change character concepts almost daily. I loved my 3-eyed, albino Tengu Menhir Savant Druid, for the like 10-20 posts I got to make with him before the game fizzled out.

Gyrfalcon, I actually like the concept! Send me a PM about ideas for that drink, as I am interested in knowing what plans you have for a Gnomish fizzy drink, given how Gnomish inventions tend to be. :P

I still have a number of unanswered questions, should I repost them?

Shadow-Traced banned? Heh, fair enough. Not surprised in the slightest honestly, it was rather ridiculous anyway.

Well, I have one character completed and I'm just going to stick with them for this honestly. I really like the flavour and concept I'm building up around them. I've made quite a few 'Wallace the Whirldwind' builds recently, but I've never actually managed to play a game with them. hopefully this will change it.

Add in awesome flavour with being blessed with luck, and a class that is all about manipulating luck themselves... and well, I really, really hope that Arcantos the Fortuitous is accepted.

Is she, now? Well, this should be interesting...

Barmy this will be my submission, it's still a work in progress.

I need to know how may race points the half giant is. I put an estimate in the profile in Feats and Traits. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

This is Sanya. I'm working on his fluff because I wrote for Golarion then read the backlog.

So, can anyone tell me what they think of Sanya's fluff now that I've rewritten it? I'm not so familiar with Forgotten Realms but it's still the third most familiar setting for me after Golarion and Ravenloft and I didn't want to make a Ravenloft character because part of what I like about Ravenloft is that nobody can leave it.

*Idly hums and continues waiting*

It's been almost a week and still no answer for my questions.

Okay, so I have a confession to make. I have been letting the negativity from the messageboards get to me as of late. That's the reason that I have not posted in so long, for which I am sorry. I have felt, quite honestly, like the talk about me has been right, that I have been a failure as a DM/GM.

This continued until, after about 3 or 4 days ago, when Red velvet Tiger, Monkeygod, and one of the players (Arawn Vasska's player, whose screen name I don't quite remember,) who had quit from my campaign finally managed to convince me that the best way to dispel the negativity is to power-through and show people that things are different.

I don't really know why I let the negativity bother me as much as I do, it just does. I can handle criticism to an extent, if it is only said once and sufficient time is allowed for me to fix the problem. Constant criticism, even when I am making efforts to change, just really bothers me. It could be the inborn tendency that I have towards depression and anxiety or it could be a deeper personality flaw. Which it is, I am not sure of.

Thanks to the three individuals I mentioned above, and to those who conveyed their well-wishes through them, I will not be quitting the messageboards permanently, as I was honestly considering. If you all are reading this, thank you for helping me get past this issue.

I will be returning to run my campaigns shortly, but I just wanted to explain what was going on and answer the biggest questions that I'm sure people were wondering.

As of now, recruitment is officially closed and those who have posted will be allowed to finish their characters while I catch up to my duties as the GM.

I'm not going to post for while, at least until I get back from RVT's since she helped me with my computer, but I will be back.

It's good to see you back. ^^)/

And I'm happy I got my characters done when I did. XD

Good to see you back. I'm glad you came back. I just need to clean this character up and all should be good.

Pathfinder Pathfinder Accessories, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Yay! You're back, GM That Barmy Cutter! I just need to refine my characters backstory a little then I should be good to go.

Glad to see you back. I'm still waiting on your answers before putting the finishing touches on my character. Let me repost them for easier reference:

1) Given the Corset of Delicate Moves, will you stand by your earlier statement to trade move actions for swift actions for free? If not, how much would an unlimited use (or once per round) item like this one cost (though I would obviously prefer to be able to cast spells as well)?

2) Just making sure I understood you correctly, but for the bloodrager alternative for rage prophet, can I just use bloodrager + mad magic to qualify instead of Moment of Clairty? Mad Magic allows for casting oracle spells just as Moment of Clairty does.

3) Would taking the Wildblooded bloodline pit-touched be ok through eldritch heritage?

4) A clarification on what the CR of Animal Lord is would also be nice (2 or 5?)

Anyone else? A few applicants need a few more days to finish, so it will probably be a week, tops, before we start.

Oyzar, 1, 2, and 3 are yes. As for Animal Lord, it is 5, because 3*1.5, rounded up, is 5.

still working on my submission. as you know, it is very complicated.

dot.

I still think you have the Animal Lord CR wrong. You need to take the CR of the animal and add 2 to it. THEN times that by 1.5. After all, the CR is Same as the base creature or the base animal (whichever is higher) +2.

I mean seriously. You get the base physical scores of the animal, then get to staple +4/Advanced template on it as well! All for 5 CR just seems a bit small. Like, if I chose a Lepoard. I get Str 20, Dex 23, Con 17, Int 6, Wis 17, Cha 10 without taking into account my scores and stats. It basically means you can skimp out entirely on physical scores during the point buy and get really high mental scores.

That seems more like a 2+2 = 4 4*1.5 = 6 CR thing than 5. Especially with all the other abilites that come along with it like Change Shape, Special Attacks and Species Affinity....

Here will be my (3) Submissions which have their own Strengths and Weaknesses. I still have to finish Kotar's fluff and maybe refine all of them but they are mostly finished. Since I know very little about Planescape, don't have any of the source materials, and only played a little of video game many years ago, my toons are all new to Sigil and Barmy;

Christaph Chirlot - He reminds me of Jedi Force Ghost from The Old Republic which predates the Phantom Menace about 3,600 years. Maybe he is Revan? ... LOL

Ithtreskrisk - Poor Ithtreskrisk, he was a human Wizard named Milo who partially botched a Wish spell and became a Psionically Enhanced Young Vortex Dragon with entry level sorcery powers (Sorcerer magic ability for his age category). He did indeed succeed in being able to travel the stars, worlds, crystal spheres, and dimensions but at a price!

Kotar Soja - Kotar is a Kasatha gunslinging gunfu master from the planet of Kasath. He was a budding Kasatha warrior who was taken by the Spell Jamming Mind Flayers, is self-taught, and escaped from the Illithids trying to find a crew to help him regain the famed ship, "Spell Jammer." Of course, if that leads him down tangents, it does not matter to Kotar as long as he gets to keep his distance from any Illithid. Kotar was inspired by Tars Tarkas from John Carter except Kotar's gunfu is strong and he can fly a ship better thank Tars Tarkas.

@Tempest: Since our stats are so high to begin with, it's not nearly as bad as you lay it out to be. From your Leopard example the base character would likely use their own con and wis even if they are really high for the cat. Sure Animal Lord is powerful for a MAD character, but all the strength boost does for my character is save me 1-2 feats (weapon finesse and deadly agility). Compare it to Dread Ghost for example, that also replaces two ability scores (str and con instead of str and dex), but instead of giving +4 to everything it gives +8 cha which is arguably stronger and it gives way more useful special abilities than the animal lord (cha to AC for example). Both templates are the high end of the powerscale though. 5 CR => 8 levels is much more than it's worth though.

@GM That Barmy Cutter: Where is the 3 coming from? Narwhal? Animal Lord is normally CR +2 so 2*1.5 = 3. Boosting it to 3 for balance is fine though I have to rearrange a few things in order to fit it in...

It's probably all for naught as it seems like we'll start in 1-2 days and I won't be able to finish in that time. I had hoped to finish it up this weekend, but it was not to be. If I can get a proper deadline, it'll be easier for me to try to reach it.

When are we looking at starting? Holding off on applying to another game until I hear on this one.

I highly suspect Div has zero intention/ability to follow through on this game as I have done some research on his other posts and they all follow this same cycle of RL sob stories where he prays on our sympathies just to string us along further.

I'll give him credit that it's an intriguing setting but nothing indicating real preparation was ever actually done. Is there anyone in this thread with the ability or interest to take up the GM role? We would need to start a new thread so the dm would have controll

Hey all, just wanted to ask some of you awesome folk to possibly come lend your badass creation skills in helping me create some epic level villains for my real life table top game:

Villains!

Drat, looks like I just missed this. Good luck guys
