Azreal, let your contact with Daniel help guide this shining spirit into the trap, tell it where they are or let it follow you as you go to Daniel.

Summoning Lantern Archon for 10 rounds. Hoping it can follow Azreal or find it's way into the pit by following Euphemia.

"Help them!" the witch sputters to the materialized archon when she gets the chance, motioning to the men in the pit with a buzzing finger.
Edit: And she continues towards them.
Then, of course, there's the whole need to reactivate a little another minute with the hair to get them out, better one at a time because she's only got a 20' speed to start with in this spell.

Understood The Archon says, you get the feeling that it is annoyed being called by one who doesn't follow a more acceptable philosophy , but it winks down into the pit using Greater Teleport and two spots on it start glowing as it prepares to unleash heavenly light against any foul creatures.

Azreal has Aura of Menace, Shadow might be immune though. Also has Magic Circle against Evil. Is the Shadow summoned? By the other dark artifact? Not sure what the other Archon has.

The paladin breathes heavily and smiles, You and I differ in I do not see mule as an insult. They a tough, study animals. Able to bear great weight over long distances without ccomplaint. My sword was working against it and so I killed it before it could hurt me more.
The paladin notes the Hound who arrived only a fraction late.
Tell Andrea it's dead and I am fine, friend. We just need to find a way out of this pit.
As he re gathers himself and offers to heal Gérard with his Wand (roll if you want) a thought occurs to him.
Azreal, could you cast CONTINUAL FLAME on my old sword and on at least 3 of Gerard's daggers. I am concerned however that the shadow creature had no reaction to the light. If light is useless against them, my fears are true and we will need to fight through the night.

That is a relief. Andrea pets Frank's chin softly. I am sure Euphemia can get them out. She then relays a message to Euhphemia through the Lantern Archon.
The Lantern Archon hovers near the others.The one of unfortunately loose morals says that Euphemia should give Gerard the anti-toxin to fend off the effects of the poison until proper care can be given outside of the pit. She can also tend to the most honorable Daniel's loss of vitality, although you should be sure to make sure her hands do not wander to inappropriate places. A sound like an exasperated sigh issues from the ball of light.
I shall guard your retreat until my time on this plane is done.

We are most honored you answered the call. Thank you for your assistance. Now we just need to remove ourselves from this pit.

After gathering yourselves you are able to explore the two side doors down the hallway as long as you have rope tied to you. You manage to find enough footing on the side of the hall to avoid falling back into the trap. The floor does appear to solid again but you figure its a permanent illusion.
The two rooms are bunk-rooms with simple furnishing. The chests are opena nd empty and the small weapons racks are empty.
There is one more door at the end of the hall that remains unopened.

So...The shadow was not slowed at all by the light. Are we holding up? I don't we would see much respite. If we batten down now after dark, we invite them to surround us. We need to decide to retreat or stay but I think we can do this.
The paladin is putting on a brave face, but all Paladins were fearless, so assured were they of a place in their gods halls.
I say we March forward, direct and hard while we have the resources. If we can get to Illnerik he can be destroyed.
He pulls them close for a whispered conversation.
Though, perhaps we should have Azreal take the morrowfall back to Tilneros? Illnerik wants it as badly as we want his half. He must not get it should we fall.

Andrea casts Lesser Restoration on Daniel to restore some of his strength.
Lesser Restore: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Str damage healed
She then gives Gerard the Lesser Restoration potion that was in the care package from the Tilneros.
Lesser restore: 1d4 ⇒ 4 CON damage healed.
She then passes out an Anti-Toxin to everyone. In case there are more poison traps. Offers a +4 save to saving throws for 1 hour if drunk.
I say we do as Gerard suggested, secure this floor before resting or deciding what to do. As for the Morrowfall, if we secure ourselves in a room, we can use it's ability to detect undead to keep guard over us. We should have double watches regardless. We do have some of those scrolls we found that have spells that can protect us while we sleep as well.Alarm,Arcane Lock,False Vision, Mage's Private Sanctum.
Remember it is now night so Ilnerik has free reign to roam. As for taking the Morrowfall back, we deny ourselves a powerful tool against the undead and we must decide if it is worth the risk to take it with us.

The paladin sighs, almost glad they were at least firm in a decision even if it wasn't one he agreed with. Committed was far better than doubt.
Very well. We needn't sleep at all besides Em, who needs it for spells. My Wand will let us stay awake the whole night without fatigue. If we must stop. We will be ready to fight if needed.
Daniel is at 16 str+ belt now.

Not a thing... Clear. Gerard thumbs the pommel of each dagger as they appear back at his belt. He moves to inspect the fallen enemy's gear.

The paladin says nothing. He regretted not knowing if these men were truly evil or not. However given the scenario, fighting vampires and shadows and exploding assassins, Gerard ' action was understandable.

Andrea, it may be worth questioning one if life lingers. Without any other information we continue. Gerard, let us know when you are satisfied the floor is cleared. Azreal, continue to put light in every room.

Gerard you see that one of the two men has on funny looking glasses, and there is thick heavy 50 foot rope with a noose nearby him, his wears a nice rapier on his left hip and there is a short sword on the ground.
The other has a nice light crossbow handing on his side and there is a nice rapier laying beside him on the ground.
Both men wear common studded leather and each have one CLW potion marked in common along an assortment of coins and jewelry (total combined value is 600 GP)

When Andrea comes inside she notices the handiwork and checks the bodies for any signs of life she finds a trace of life in one. She stabilizes one man.
Edit: only one survived. I double checked the AC and the 14 FF hit.
