So I've been working 11-12 hour days almost every day and it's been a battle trying to keep up with the games I'm in. It's hard to have the energy and brain-power to write at all. I don't know if it's more reasonable to drop out of the game or maybe just fade into the background until things settle down at work?
I don't know. I feel really bad that I haven't been able to keep up. I'm probably a few weeks away from a more reasonable schedule. :/

Hey Tamru, you don't happen to be in the tax accounting business do ya? I'm working in a tax office myself (not an accountant, fortunately!), and it's been busy has all heck around here as well - and will be for another few weeks. I'm only admin, so not working the same hours as the accountants, who are getting in around 2am or so and working until 5pm every day.
You'd think they could have worked out a better system by now. Like perhaps make half the population's taxes due in April and the other half in October? I don't know if that would make it easier for tax preparers, but it would at least spread things out a bit. Businesses have to file quarterly, of course, so it wouldn't affect them.

I do not but I work as a civilian on a military base and when the soldiers get tax returns, it has a huge impact on my operation.
That plus being short staffed makes for long days. I have a few people hired but training takes time. So my posting will be spotty at best for 2 or 3 weeks.
If I get a day off this week(no guarantee), I'll try to get caught up. Thank you for your understanding.

This corridor has the feel of a nasty trap, so I for one am waiting to see what happens with Loges' spell and Linguistics check before we do anything else.
GM, can anyone see if the symbols on buttons next to the far door are the same as the symbols next to the door we are standing beside? Are any of those other buttons depressed?

Looks like my family and I are moving to the other side of the planet this summer. It was sprung on us and we have a lot of planning to do in the next two months before we can leave. It's good in the long run, but there will be lots going on in the next few months. House has to be packed up, magazines have to be cancelled, etc.

Hi folks,
Thank you for bearing with my absence of late, but things have been very busy and will likely get busier.
I've already mentioned that I'll be moving very soon, so I thought I'd give you some updates.
First, I wanted to tell all of you that my family and I will be moving for work to the small island of Yap in the western Pacific this summer. Yap is part of a small atoll that is part of the Federated States of Micronesia, and is quite remote. The closest "mainland" are the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. FYI, careful Googling Yap at work, as the traditional dress there is NSFW.
To complicate things further, we're being forced to move out of our current home by the end of May (it was sold) and will be living with friends and relatives until we finally leave for Micronesia at the beginning of August.
What this means for the game is that my posting will be sparse between now (actually from a few weeks ago) and when we get ourselves established in Micronesia in August. I'm not exactly sure when in August because the work is handling the relocation and hasn't given us our tickets yet, and also because I don't know how long it will take me to get the internet up and running in Yap (although I'm glad to know there IS internet).
I'd like everyone to vote and let me know what you prefer we do with this game. The choices are:
A) "Yes, let's keep the game running with less frequent posting until August!"
B) "Nah, too frustrating, let's put the game on hold until August."
C) "Sorry, I've already lost interest as this doesn't work for me. Let's call it quits."
Feel free to chime in if you see other options or have other comments.

Definitely A! I've played and GM'd my share of slow-paced games and this one is still going pretty good, by the standards I've seen. Also, I'm really enjoying the feel of this one - I've always been a sucker for Egyptian style adventures. :)

I know, it's been a very, very, very, long time, but you deserve to know what happened to me.
Well, I finally made it to the small island of Yap in Micronesia, and am now working as a high school teacher. We had terrible luck with the local folks hooking up our internet, and didn't get it finally connected until a few weeks ago.
Apologies for disappearing. Even with a bad internet connection I could have still let you know what was going on; that's my bad. A combination of guilt and shame kept me away from the forums after I had been incommunicado for a few weeks. That's just an explanation, however, not an excuse.
