Channel Energy (Su): Regardless of alignment, any cleric can release a wave of energy by channeling the power of her faith through her holy (or unholy) symbol. This energy can be used to cause or heal damage, depending on the type of energy channeled and the creatures targeted.

A good cleric (or one who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures. An evil cleric (or one who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures. A neutral cleric who worships a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric casts spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting).

Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric's level + the cleric's Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channeled energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect. A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability.

Bit of Luck (Sp): You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, giving it a bit of luck. For the next round, any time the target rolls a d20, he may roll twice and take the more favorable result. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Touch of Good (Sp): You can touch a creature as a standard action, granting a sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws equal to half your cleric level (minimum 1) for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Background:

There is beauty in all things. Even in persecution and rejection by my people. I reject them as well, but still I recognize that there is a certain grace to their misguided order. And perhaps a benefit to their rejection of all faiths. For me, I am content to seek beauty in the wide world alongside my Goddess... and without my misguided people.

Tamru was born to a well-off merchant family. As the fifth son, he never expected to inherit the family business, but he was expected to participate. But the young garundi would rather watch the sunset than count coins, and his frivolity did not sit well with his family. Constantly at odds with his father and brothers, Tamru spent a lot of time away from home. And each time he left, he dreaded more his return. His family would be furious and they weren’t shy about letting him know.

In his escapades, the young garundi started to come across a colorful songbird that seemed to be trying to draw him away. Though he didn’t have a mind for numbers, Tamru wasn’t stupid. Songbirds don’t live here. But the gods didn’t have power in Rahadoum, did they? It seemed that Shelyn disagreed, and Tamru took up the quiet worship of the Goddess of beauty. It didn’t take long for his family to find out. Fearful of fines and damage to their reputation, his family fought him him about his faith. And so he hid it. For years. He suspected his family still knew, but despite his flaws, he was still their blood. And if they turned him in, they’d have to pay the fines. And so they kept silent. And he started contributing more to the family business to appease them. There was a tenuous peace among his brothers for a time. He was never good at the merchant business, more concerned with form than function, but they gave him simple jobs, mostly loading wagons, and he did his part.

Eventually, the government found out, however and now that he was well into adulthood, he was responsible for himself. When he refused to reject his faith openly, they tried to arrest him and he was forced to flee. Always a strong man, reinforced by the years spend lifting boxes, he was able to shove his way past the guards and flee on foot. He followed the songbird out of Rahadoum.

And it was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Now Tamru roams the world following the wind, a self-taught cleric of Shelyn, almost aimless as he takes his time to enjoy the beauty wherever he goes.

Appearance and Personality:

Not particularly beautiful himself, Tamru is a garundi man of medium height and above-average width. Typical of his people in their middle-age, he has dark skin, dark eyes and stark-white hair. Despite his pudgy form, Tamru has the appearance of someone who cares about how things look. Well-groomed and put-together, the garundi wears bronze earrings with red and tan clothing that is well-mended and clean. Around his neck, he wears openly a bronze songbird with a multicolored tail, the symbol of his Goddess. His scale mail shines brightly, stained a dark bronze to match and he carries a graceful polearm with the same coloration.

Tamru is exceedingly friendly to all those he meets. Like his family, he learned enough Common to get by in the wider world, but is poor with pronunciation and syntax. He speaks his native Osiriani fluently, of course. Tamru’s main priorities are freedom and beauty. He firmly believes that people should be able to do what they want as long as it doesn’t harm others. He will try to get people to slow down and appreciate the beauty in things they find, but he will not force the issue.

Tamru watches every sunrise and every sunset if he is able, under the open sky with the wind in his hair.
