About Loges the Wise

Training vignette with Prasst.:

Father Rantal Prasst (male human cleric of Erastil):
The small town of Kassen has only one temple and it is devoted primarily to Erastil, but Father Prasst allows those who worship other friendly gods to pray at the temple as well. While Father Prasst does not offer services in the names of these deities, there are small shrines to other gods set up in some of the alcoves, including Gozreh, Gorum, Shelyn, and Torag. Father Prasst is a kind and understanding man, but he is hard when it comes to the defense of the community. He is quite young, only 24, and many in the community do not put too much faith in his council, except in spiritual matters. He was trained as a soldier in Tamran, but he left after his first battle to become a priest, and refuses to say why.

The frail, but tall young man stood absolutely still. His hunter green robes stirred in the wind, along with his bushy wild dirty blonde hair. His blue eyes were partially blinded by the stinging tears that were bullying their way out. The strong smell of manure was dominating his senses. Loges desperately exhaled a breathe.
How much longer do we need to do this?

The question was posed at his mentor. Father Prasst stood across from the weary acolyte. Between them the sounds of pigs and hogs were busy snorting and roaming the mud covered pen.

Father Prasst stated.
Pig manure is in great demand because of it’s rewarding nature. Pig manure is demanded by the gardeners because it is enriched in calcium, manganese, magnesium, zinc, copper, boron, and iron, chlorine.

The Priest smiles. The acolyte sighs. Having been apprenticed to Father Prasst these last 2 years has had many moments like this particular one. Being a church of Erastil meant not only learning archery (which he enjoyed), but also how to best make use of all His gifts.

I bet the Calistrians aren't nose deep in pig shit., Loges laments.

Having had grown up in the small town of Kassen, Loges (along with most youth) were apprenticed to various mentors. The youths would be tested for skills pertaining to certain fields and placed accordingly. Loges was placed with the church. He enjoyed the work, the teachings, and the even these types of duties. He just likes to give Father Plasst a difficult time.

Erastil rewards those that work for theirs. Everything has a purpose. Even shit!

The Priest laughs.

Backstory:
It must be here!, passionately exclaims the nature-motif robed human youth. Stacks of precariously perched books wage a constant struggle against an unrelenting adversary: gravity. Pillows of disturbed dust descend down upon the precariously placed piles of volumes.
Unconcerned chitters from a lone mouse out on errands echo across the everburning torch-lit chamber.
Think about it!, the blue-eyed and dirty blond hair male announces to the mouse.
The chance to go visit the Crypt of the Everflame! The last year certainly has been worth it!
Only a year ago, a child went missing in the woods. Father Prasst lead the search party. It went on for almost 2 days, before the call went out to end it. Loges actually got lost when he stumbled upon the frighten lad in a shallow bog. To this day, Father Prasst baptized him with the moniker Loges the Wise.
Because it takes a wise man to trip over his own boots!

Another unconcerned squeak erupts from the mouse...

The dusty unused cellar in the Temple of Erastil might have been a storage room, but Loges converted it into his own personal library. Books, books, books commanded his time. The youth enjoyed learning. Finding this hideaway's location and begging Father Prasst's permission to claim the small storage room was exciting to the newly raised cleric. The costs of these volumes has left him close to penniless. Thankfully, the not too proud cleric hasn't been shy with some simple services to assist the locals, and earn him coin.

The smiling cleric frowns.
Now, I just need to find my coat!
