[dice=Ref save]1d20+11 [dice=Damage]2d8+2
Half damage (6) plus DR 3/evil = 3Just a reminder, the only visible characters are LB, Kaz, Rod and Hal. Also, we're under the effect of LB's good devotion feat which grants us DR 3/evil and our attacks are good-aligned for 1 minute.
I should have remembered that - thanks for the reminder!
Lightbringer |
[dice=Reflex]1d20 + 9 [dice=damage]2d8 + 2 half damage, DR/2, so LB takes 5 hp.
The DR 3/evil supersedes the DR 2/adamantite, so damage is 4.

Gil 23
Arcane Ballista 20+
Lightbringer 20-
Rodergo 19
Janosz 16
Haladon 14
Kazadar 10+
Ez 5+
Warforged Archers 0
So it is Gil's turn - she has acted but we await confirmation on position. Then the arcane ballista.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
If Gil is dispelling anything she'll need to make a check. The arcane ballista can act without worrying about her position.
The ballista takes a bead on the shadow demon.
Attacks count as magical, although not Ghost Touch.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 to hit, damage 4d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 3) + 3 = 16 plus 1d6 ⇒ 5fire damage
LB and Gil's completed action.
Lightbringer |
Lightbringer charges downwards through the air towards one of the warforged soldiers, swinging his greatsword down in an overhead chop.
Charge attack to R10, attacking W19.
Run out of time to work out modifiers and dice roll .. .coming later ...
Lightbringer |
Right, sorry about the delay, dice rolls for the above:
Power attack charge: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (12) + 24 = 36 damage: 2d6 + 23 ⇒ (2, 4) + 23 = 29

Father Rod |
Rodergo airwalks over the glass barricade just beside his whirling barrier of blades, lowering his altitude to hover just above the remains of the destroyed catapult (move to O10, P10, O11, P12 as single move thanks to haste, altitude as low as possible above broken catapult but minimum of 5 feet above the ground), hoping that his relatively low height will shield him from archers within or behind the blade barrier and make him a less obvious target for the arcane ballista.
He casts a minor spell as he moves, a silver bow and arrow appearing in the air to fire shimmering bolts at one of the enemy warforged.
Spiritual weapon targets warforged W22. attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29 damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Attack routine vs the living spell earlier at this location:
Attack 1: 12+17=AC 30, damage 2d8+22+2d6 fire+2d6 electricity=31+9 fire+7 electricity.
Attack 2: 11+17=AC 28, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity=18+5 fire+2 electricity.
Attack 3: 12+12=AC 24, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity=14+2 fire+3 electricity.
Attack 4: 14+7=AC 21, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity=15+4 fire+4 electricity.
Now to see if there are feats special in that case or this one. I don't think so.
Edit: Nothing specific to the target or the location found. I did see that this attack routine is including Manyshot, Rapid Shot, and Deadly Aim.
Janosz targets the three some in front of the ammo dump, starting with the one closest and working his way to the next if that one falls.
Attack 1 (manyshot): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Damage 1: 2d8 + 22 + 2d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (8, 6) + 22 + (6, 4) + (3, 3) = 52 including 10 fire, 6 electricity
Attack 2 (rapid shot): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
Damage 2: 1d8 + 11 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 11 + (3) + (5) = 20 including 3 fire, 5 electricity
Attack 3 (iterative): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Damage 3: 1d8 + 11 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 11 + (3) + (6) = 22 including 3 fire, 6 electricity
Attack 4 (iterative): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage 4: 1d8 + 11 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 11 + (5) + (6) = 26 including 5 fire, 6 electricity
Crit confirm 3: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Potential crit damage: 2d8 + 22 ⇒ (5, 3) + 22 = 30

Ezreal Farlowe |
The shadow demon vanishes while another living spell canister rockets out of the ammo dump to slam into warforged titan.
Ezreal remains invisible, but rises high enough to see the arcane ballista. The mage sets to work razing the siege weaponry and any soldiers near it. The battlefield erupts in an inferno to the east.
Ammo Cannister vs Warforged Titan: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Empowered Fire ball vs Arcane Ballista, W26, W27, W28, W29, W31
W30 is clear of the blast.

The second canister slams into the giant warforged, disgorging another glowing orange blob. This new creature also lashes out, pounding on the titan's plating.
Arcane Ballista save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
At the same time, fire explodes by the warforged tending the arcane ballista. The crew are reduced to heaps of charred metal, and the ballista is scorched but still functional.
The titan pounds furiously on one of the oozes attacking it.
Attacks Ooze 1
Axe 1d20 + 16 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 16 - 4 = 16, damage 2d8 + 9 + 8 ⇒ (8, 2) + 9 + 8 = 27
Maul 1d20 + 16 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 16 - 4 = 21, damage 2d8 + 9 + 8 ⇒ (7, 3) + 9 + 8 = 27
Meanwhile, the morale of the warforged troops breaks and they begin to retreat.
Withdrawal actions from them.
Gil.
Gil |
Hmm, things appear to be well in hand here except for the fleeing foes. Is the catapult still in usable condition? If we could figure it out, does it look like we could fling oozes at the other set of warforged? Or am I misremembering that there was another group?
Ezreal Farlowe |
The troops will likely rally before we can get those siege engines around or over the wall of glass spikes. We can reassess after the titan and ballista are down.
I just realized Aubrey said "the crew tending the ballista" above. Maybe I was mistaken about it being some type of intelligent or at least sentient construct. Either it or the crew was somehow able to see us while invisible. If it stops functioning without its crew I guess we will know. We are about to see after Gil's turn.
Gil |
Gil will proceed with the original plan of trying to dispel any containment magic on the canisters in the ammo dump. She will cast the dispel on the side away from her allies.
Greater Dispel Magic caster level check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
OK, sorry for my extended absence. Let's move things on a bit.
End of initiative (for the moment).
The two glowing oozes smash the unfortunate warforged titan to pieces as the last warforged foot-soldiers flee.
1,371xp each.
The field seems bare of immediate enemies. Then, beyond the catapults and ammunition dump, the ground stirs. In one place, then another, and another; a metallic hand breaks through followed by and arm, shoulders and head, soil spilling from from the bodies of more warforged soldiers as they rise from their buried hiding places.
Then the earth cracks as something massive rears up. A serpentine neck extends and wide wings unfurl, scattering dirt far and wide. The warforged dragon-thing shakes its head to clear its eyes, incongruously reminiscent of a dog emerging from a dip in a river. Then it rests its pitiless unemotional gaze upon the adventurers and any resemblance to an organic creature of any kind disappears.
Astride its shoulders is a heavily-built warforged warrior wrapped in a red cloak. Red eyes glow like coals from under the shadow of the hood. It reaches back to draw a long jagged blade like a broken shard of armour cladding. Then, in a deep growling voice it calls out to Lightbringer.
"Why do you persist in frustrating our lord's work?" snarls Darkheart.
Ezreal Farlowe |
Yes. We do seem to have his attention now. Lightbringer, are you still sure your troops would not prefer to be teleported out of here? Ezreal tends to be dry at the best of times, but sarcasm seems to be growing on him.
Lightbringer |
Lightbringer turns his head slowly, scanning the recently emerged warforged troops, the dragon-construct, his gaze resting at last on Darkheart.
“I have listened to your lord’s words,” the paladin replies. “I have heard them – and rejected them. We were made to fight a war that is ended. Your lord preaches a new war, one that in the end he would lose – but destroy many lives, warforged and human in the process. Do not be seduced by this dark path Darkheart. You and I could do much good together … will you leave your Lord of Blades and forsake this path you are on? If you will not forsake evil … then regretfully I must destroy you.”
Sorry for the long wait Aubrey and all!
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
"Evil, good - you have never ceased to disappoint. These are sentiments the fleshed use to dominate others. The Silver Flame proclaim themselves good while denying our brothers their rights, calling them hollow shells without souls, worthy only to be treated as objects. What is 'good' about that? The Lord of Blades is beyond such petty notions. The Great Schema, and the destiny of the warforged race - these alone are all that matters. The rest of just the fleshed leaking false tears as they seek to crush us."
"You are wrong, Darkheart!" cries a voice from behind. Approaching across the battlefield stalks Faith, with Warforged 773 tagging along behind. Faith's eyes blaze with righteous fury. "You follow a false prophet. You simply mouth the lies of your master, uncomprehending of the truth. Your soul may be lost, but do not seek to drag others down with you."
"Well, well," sneers Darkheart, "My old platoon-mates. Isn't this a delightful reunion? Perhaps when this is all over we can take you and Lightbringer apart to see what faulty components create such sanctimony and blind ignorance. So be it. The time has come." He gestures his warriors forward.
Any last comments? Otherwise, roll initiative.

Assume there's been about thirty seconds (or five rounds) of talk (in order to assess what effects may have run out - that isn't casting time) You can also move a bit if you want to to give yourselves new positions - assume you can move up to a single move of your speed if you desire, although no closer to the action than Kaz, otherwise it would have provoked an attack. Please let me know any new positions and, if you haven't already, roll initiative.
