Hey, for all you know, he had a pack of little boarders at home, and a Mrs. Boarder. Or would that be Mrs. Six? Anyway, his career was going just fine until he came on a boat of PCs. You know really, of all the luck. For all we know, he was up for the position of Boarder 5, or Mook Archer 4.... Alas, poor Boarder 6.

Boarder 6 was destined as the herald of the rebirth of Aroden and the fall of all Chelaxian devil worshippers. He would have brought peace to Golarion, fed the homeless, healed the sick, but alas, between Vero's jaws and Imogene's fire orb, the world is destined to go on in darkness and despair for all time.

So, what you are saying is that it is just as well that we are leaving this doomed continent behind, right?

Man, I'm bummed because I can't use my Hex ability. The hex I have (Evil Eye) only goes out to 30'.
Nazard: Concerning the amount of witch hexes per day, what is your take. Its a little open ended at this point. I think they are supposed to be at will according to Jason Bulmahn on this thread:
Go to link.
And then I assume the Evil Eye ends if the NPC who is under the effect dies and I can hex someone new the following turn?

Unless they specifically have a use per day notation in their entry, hexes are at will. Timed hexes, like disguise, are a little more confusing, but I read that hex as follows: you're under an assumed identity and are captured. You don't want your disguise to fall because you're always being watched, so the per level ability tells you how long you can hold it before having to reset it (which might or might not matter). Also, it has to be in one-hour increments, so you can't quickly drop the disguise whenever your want (like to signal an ally). That being said, once the hour is up, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cancel the first disguise hex and start a whole new one, resetting your durations.
But yes, I didn't hear back from my ship expert, so I decided that the mast was thirty feet high. I promise that there will be plenty of opportunities for Eriniyes to throw her eyes around at people in the future.
As for waiting hexing a new person when the first target dies, I don't see anything in the hex description that prevents her from having multiple hexes going at once. Hexes that are one at a time only, like blight, specifically state it in their descriptions, so if she weren't hiding up in the crow's nest, she could have had half of Cheliax hexed by now.

Interesting, I suppose so. I was thinking she had to have only one hex "running" at a time, but if it doesn't say so anywhere I guess not. Excellent!

Something that some are doing and some aren't, and it's a big help for those who are: please start your combat action post with "Round x", whatever round it currently is (or at least you think it is). That should minimize any confusion when actions are posted out of order. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all when people post out of order, especially when that keeps the game moving along, but it's good to not have double posts for rounds.

Huge, billion thanks for the link to that map. Your post came in the same time I was posting something, and I missed yours until just now. I see some of the islands need to be written in, and I know just how to do it. It's tempting to do a "Dawn Treader" homage, but I'm eager to move things forward towards Arcadia itself. Thoughts?

Nazard |

Oh, sorry Lilo, that was the wrong impression. I didn't mean hand-waving the sea voyage as there are still several important prologue-type events to get through before you actually set foot on Arcadia. I just meant that if people were interested, I could come up with one or two Dawn Treader-style short module things, given that in my original narrative, I never put mention of the islands since I didn't realize that they were that extensive.

Dorgar: the first thing I told AAremeth was it could be his gardners of course he has racial blinders on, but I said it would be a perfect cover for it to be a halfling lol.
Aaremeth: It doesn't even make sense for it to be my gardners! Besides It is obviously. *points randomly* that guy.
Dorgar: Didn't their boss just get assassinated by a chelaxian supposedly? oh political intrigue my mistake [cough] chelaxian spys![/cough]
Aaremeth: no, no, no. it was just political intrigue and what kind of terrible plan would you have to have, to hope for a random person to come into the ghetto to charter your spies. if that is their ingenious plan let them come.
So, it was the Halfling gardeners after all? Dang, those Chelaxians are amazing!

markofbane |

That tells you how good my powers of observation were. I was kidding about it being the halfling gardeners; I knew it was Andorian Farmers. But I did think they were halflings, just some from the original group. My bad. I guess that means any follow up jokes about all halflings looking alike would fall kind of flat. Sorry.

I feel your pain. I have an online database class that requires me to install Oracle 11g. 2 days later, my cpu, mobo, and video card are all toast. I'm trying to get the school to pony up some cash for destroying my stuff.
Fortunately for me, $65 later I have a new power supply and everything is working smoothly again.

Sorry about everything being slow going, folks. This has been the most insane week since school-Christmas concert week (when you teach in five different schools, Christmas is he&&). I'll have some serious time to start moving things along this evening. Suffice it to say, I'm looking forward to getting this lot to the actual continent of Arcadia (before people start crying false advertising - this current scenario is the last one before landfall). Eriniyes' last post will be triggering some events.

Thanks for the headsup. Take whatever time you need; I think we all get the RL impositions that can happen. Right now I'm posting a little slower because I am working a second job (enumerator for the US Census Bureau), and I'll be helping my step-daughter, her husband and two kids move out of our house in June and then my wife and I will be moving to a smaller place in July... So, yeah. We get it. :)
