** spoiler omitted **
Ah. Now I understand. You're sort of right, in a way. I direct you back to the main thread, partway down the second last page. There was a clue presented there as to the possible purpose of this place. It will be awhile before you fully learn what has been going on down here.

Just so I'm clear on this - I can only heal the living or damage undead when I channel positive energy - not both?
Which way did the house rule verdict land?

House rule lands on both, as I haven't found it to ever be too powerful and it lets a cleric use channels for healing and offense without having to bump his charisma up past the party bard's.

Okay folks, moment of truth. I'm more than willing to continue, if we want to. At the moment, it looks like we're Rommin, Lilo, and Landis. You mentioned maybe keeping Hickory around as a GMNPC, which is fine with me, meaning between the two halflings, we have the arcane side covered. A cleric, druid, or oracle would be helpful for you though.
Shall I put out a casting call, and how many do we want?
Oh, and by the way, as soon as you walk out of the underground complex...DING!!
scranford
I definatly want to continue. I like this game. Different from the standard fantasy fare. I would recruit one divine caster, and if we get a couple of really good concepts would be OK with that as well.
PS: I'm assuming ding means level up?
PSS: I forgot, how do we do hit points for a new level here?
Just in case 1d12 ⇒ 7
Nazard
Ding does mean level up, and my method is to let you roll for hit points, and if you don't like the result, you may take my secret roll, even if it's lower. This results in slightly above average hit points while still allowing for variety and some of the thrill of rolling each level.
I assume Lilo is also interested in continuing, so I will put the call out. How about we all judge them and decide together, rather than just me?
Rommin Hawkridge
Rommin's Advancement: Sorcerer 1 (Arcane)
Feat L3: Rapid Shot
+2 Will
Skills: 4 points, add Knowledge: Local as class skill. Perception, Stealth, Survival and Knowledge: Local.
Bloodline Arcana – When applying a metamagic feat to a spell, increase the spell DC by 1.
Bloodline Power – Arcane Bond – Familiar (Rat)
Eschew Materials bonus feat
4 1st spells per day
4 known cantrips: Detect Magic, Light, Mending, Presdigitation
2 known 1st level spells: Gravity Bow, Shield
Hit Points: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Edit: You know, I think I'll go with your roll for hit points for Rommin, even if it is worse. :)

Hey,
I was reading through your IC thread (Hoping to be one of the new players), and (To markofbane) I noticed that you shorted Rommin a point of damage with your Greatsword,Should red 2D6+3,as it's 2-handed and all.
Cheers, sorry to just pop in (Since there don't seem to be PMs on this site).

I am willing to go with Nightflier based on your word. That may be best for this team: one known quantity and one unknown.
He has a great Midnight game he's running on these boards if you'd like to check out his style "Nightflier's Midnight"? Sorry I don't know how to post links

What's the starting level? I should finish with the character tomorrow, as far as you don't expect elaborate background. I'll do that anyway, but I'll need more time.
Level 3, 25 point buy, standard starting gold for a 3rd level character
Two traits, no two of which can be the same kind. Also, you may pick one of the following campaign traits:Colonial Spirit: When half or more of the party is incapacitated (helpless), you gain a +1 morale bonus to attack, damage, and saves versus fear.
Always on the Run: +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity from moving (basically a half-Mobility feat)

Hi, players.
Dreaming Warforged has begun to finalize a concept for a native Skraeling PC for the group which I'd like to try adding. I don't believe he will fulfill all our divine needs, so we need to decide on another player to give us a healer.
I'm waiting on Nightflier to submit an alternate cleric idea after I vetoed the cleric of Asmodeus. Since so many people vouched for him, I'd like to give him a chance to submit something.
I can't seem to find e-mail addresses for the three of you, either because I never got one or have lost it. Could Lilo, Rommin, and Landis please post an encrypted email address under spoilers?

Hey, guys. I have posted a new concept on the recruitment thread three days ago, but here it is again:
Varg the Wanderer - the Battle Oracle of Iomedae
Varg the Wanderer was born in Irrisen in the seventieth year of Queen Elvannia's reign to the wandering Ulfen skald and local witch descended from one of the earlier queens. Sickly as child, he almost did not survive the childhood, plagued by headaches and illnesses of the lungs. No witch or wise woman could find a cure for him and most of them advised his mother to leave him to the cruel winds and bitter cold to take him so that she can marry again, since his father left them when he was not yet four years of age.
She refused.
Defying the community, who scorned her for such weakness, she wowed to keep her son alive. Money was scarce, so she prostituted herself to the foreign merchants and jadwiga both male and female and even to the snow goblins - all that so she could buy expensive foreign alchemical substances that would for a short while ease her son's headaches and coughing. He was ostracised, beat upon and humiliated on every turn for years and years. He used his exclusion from the warrior games of other children to read the books from his late grandfather's rich library and to learn of other countries and other worlds, of other gods and other peoples. Unknown to him, his mother made two pacts so that she could keep him alive: One was with the mighty winter wolves and the other was with the foreign goddess called Iomadae the Inheritor. One of the she-wolves that lost her pups to the Andoran hunters allowed Varg's mother to milk her each day and feed that milk to her son in an exchange for the promise of revenge, because she knew that she can not ever leave the frozen lands of Irrisen, but her foster son could. That lasted until his fifteenth year. One morning, maddened by his continuing survival, cruel youth of Irrisen's capital ganged upon him and beat him bloody, puncturing his kidneys and lungs and breaking his left leg in two places. When he was brought back to his mother, he gave no signs of life. She pleaded to all the gods and demons she knew, but no one answered. No one, but the Lady Inheritor. An eagle as white as snow, with two heads and eyes of gold, flew through the window of Varg's room, not breaking the ice from which the window was made. Both heads spoke with silvery voices and offered a deal to Varg's mother: The young one will be healed of his wounds, and taken away from Irrisen, but from that moment on, he will serve the goddess. He will seek evil and fight it wherever it is and protect the week with his might and life. He may yet die some day in the future - but now he will live. And so it happen that Varg's mother accepted the offer of the Lady of the Blades. And that's the beginning of the tale of Varg the Wanderer.

I just sent out an invitation to the new players to join the campaign website.
In the site's library, there is a colonial manifest, containing names, ages, genders, and brief notes about all the civilians, listed by the ship they crossed on. Finn, feel free to pick people by name you think he'd tag for his mini-foraging expedition.

Hey send me an email with that link. I didn't know anything about it.
Nazard
This is the campaign site. Everybody should have edit permissions for it, based on the e-mails you game me. Try it out. The combat maps are posted there, but I post separate links in the game thread for the map directory.
Since we have new people, and we're about to enter combat, a quick note on procedures. Please feel free to post actions for the round in advance - no need to wait for your turn to make a post - and put the post under a spoiler titled with the round number.
I will make initiative rolls for you all.
Nazard
About combat, do you want all to post before you post the bad guy's move, or is it us - them -us again in the posting sequence?
I'm just wondering if everyone is waiting for everyone to post. It's a classic of PbP.
Usually we wait for the wolf to go, then the remaining people. Right now, people are waiting for me to get over my crazy week-end and make the wolf do something.

Oh my gosh, it's Maenír! Hey, I know this is super late, but I wanted to apologize for disappearing - I was enjoying the game, but some pretty serious real life issues came up, and Paizo completely fell off my priorities list for a while. Apologies for neglecting to inform you. Anyway, I hope you are all having fun and slaying many zombies!
Ales all around!

Actually, they upgraded to incorporeal undead.
Hope things have improved for you, and look forward to seeing you around the boards.

My internet issues should be resolved by the middle of the next week. The trouble was with some underground cables and it was a b~+$$ to locate it. Now they assure me that it will take just few days to sort that out, but tomorrow's Friday and they don't work over the weekend, so I'll have to wait a bit more.
