Hey Naz,
I am worried about the group having no healing and am thinking about rectifying it. my worry is that I didn't make Rorse with that in mind at all. His cavalier order is cockatrice which is dedicated to self glory, so I looked at maybe taking druid, which would work well with having Vero around, but I am not the right alignment, so I was wondering if I could change my alignment to CN and drop the extra level of cav and go dru instead?

If this is a concern, I can rectify it with another DM NPC, or I can advertise for a healer of some sort, rather than have you go against your original plans for your character.

Rorse |

Well, I don't mind either route, multi clssing with a druid could be fun, ( I could get a wolf for my companion and start growing a pack.)
but it is your call, maybe we should consult the group? I don't mind doing it in the least. The potential wolf easily makes up for the loss of the cavalier level. But certainly if you would prefer to recruit or run a NPC, then I am good with it, you are the GM after all.

Nazard |

At some point, I have to stop introducing newly-discovered adventurer-class people from the other ships, though so far it's been one, so I could do one more. I have no problem with Rorse taking a level in druid at all; I just didn't want you to feel like you had to compromise your character to make the campaign work.
Obviously, Rorse would have to wait a bit before calling his new wold animal companion. Hitting land first would definitely help.

Nazard |

Lol, Absolutely. I think it sounds like fun and it'll be one less thing for you to worry about. so CG to CN is ok? I'll get that fixed up really quick then.
I honestly never look at alignment and rarely use them. I just look at the way the character behaves, so change it anyway you see fit.

Just whenever. Serpent Skull will be out in a month and there will be a plethora of those games to try when they do, but I already have a character scheduled to be in one of those, and Second Darkness is the only other adventure path that neither my friend or I have yet tried. I understand it's the least popular of the paths, which might explain why I never see any starting up. I wanted to put it to you guys first before asking for it in the gamer connection, because I don't want to get a character all together only to find out the game's a dud.
My friend is my regular RL GM. He runs a game for me, I run one for him, but we've never actually played together, and a PbP would be perfect. I'll put some word out in the connection and maybe someone will be interested.

Nazard |

I'd like to play still Nazard, I would be more than happy to keep going maybe recruit from here? or did you ever get that second game up? maybe you could just toss Rommin, Lilo and I in there.
I have thought of that, though it would make for a HUGE party (that game has 8 PCs). There would also be the problem of how to explain it, basically causing your three characters to lose everything they've done and have an alternate storyline to explain how they got to be there (shipwrecked, passengers on board the Cloud Climber, etc.,) none of which respect the amount of effort and development you all have put into your characters.
I think the best method would be to open it up to recruits (colonists from the Cloud Climber), or to formally add Hickory to the party and run with three PCs and two GM PCs.

Rorse |

Ok, well I was just throwing it out there that I would've be up for some hand waving and saying the groups were just on different ships and what not.
as far as how we proceed, I wouldn't mind hearing from the other two first, when was the last time we heard from lilo? june 30th. hmmmmm, it might be best to see what the other guys have to say before we proceed with the plan. if you are willing to run it, I will stick with it as long as you are up for it.

Nazard |

Well, folks, I've thought it all over, and discussed it with my other group. They were quite willing to entertain the additions and had lots of suggestions on how to make it work, but no matter what we did, it was going to be awkward, so I've decided to advertise for 1 to 2 new players (one melee person and one cleric/druid person) to add to this game. I'll put the post out sometime tomorrow, but I thought perhaps you folks know somebody you play with in another game who would be a good fit, and rather than have an open call where we could get anybody, make it an invitation thing.
Let me know if you're sending out any invites and I'll hold off on advertising.
Lilo, perhaps there might be somebody from the Serpent Skull game?

Rorse and I are in a Kingmaker game and I am in a Legacy of Fire game, both of which are going very well and have amazing players in them. I'll put something in those OOC threads and see if anyone is interested.
EDIT: Posted in Lucendar's LoF Discussion Thread and Scipion del Ferro's Kingmaker Discussion.

Nazard |

Nazard, do you still have the character building rules handy somewhere? I believe they were originally posted in the Gamer Connection section and have since dropped off. I have someone already expressing interest in the melee character.
25-pt build
2nd levelTwo traits, one of which can be one of the two campaign traits:
Colonial Spirit: when half of the party is incapacitated, you receive +1 to attack until the encounter is over or more than half the party is back in action (note, this includes more than just unconscious or dead: asleep, fascinated, nauseated, frightened away, cut off, etc.)
Always on the Move: +2 dodge to AC to avoid attacks of opportunity when moving (basically half of Mobility)
1.5 times max starting gold (plus an additional 400 since we're now second level) May include whatever the person can afford.
Core races (others considered with good story behind them)
Core and APG classes only
Minimal splat stuff
Tell them to make avatars and post an entry here on this thread.

Current party make-up is:
half-elf ranger (Rommin)
Halfling Cavalier (Rorse)
Halfling Sorcerer (Lilo)
human rogue (Arryn, DM NPC)
possibly Halfling Bard (Hickory, also DM NPC though not originally intended to be a party member, but is appropriate level)
What the party needs: a tank/damage dealer/imposing personage, and a cleric/druid with good healing potential.
While a Skraeling would seem to be an obvious means of introducing a new party member, I would like to avoid it, as I really want the party to be fish out of water, without a friendly Manteo/Pochahontas figure showing them the way.
There is a third ship in the fleet, and the party hasn't met any of the passengers from that ship yet, so it would be easy enough to say that these new PCs would be from that vessel.

Sounds like Landis to me ;-).

Nazard |

Here's Landis. Let me know what you want me to do about Background?
Landis' stats look good. Pretty much any culture from Avistan or Garund is fair game.
As for why your character is on board, it can be for pretty much any reason. There is a contingent of prisoners on board, so your character could be a prisoner. The party are a group of escaped convicts who jumped ship to get out of town. Plenty of free persons would have thrown their lot in with the colony for promises of their own land and the riches of the new world.

Hrmm, I was thinking of the druid being more a melee character with high strength then a caster type. Maybe I'll cook up an Oracle. I hate having to actually prepare healing spells...
You could always take a strong Melee Animal Companion, then have spells for healing, buffing etc.
