Male -Unkown- Sorcerer level 1

Kesh begins to head into the room undoing his robe but not taking it off. He mutters a spell in Draconic and as soon as he crosses through the doors, he transforms into a huge reptilian monster. The site of him growing to such a height is quite a spectacle. He roars out loud for all to hear.

DM:

Summery of my actions = Move into room, cast Monstrous Physique III, allows me to transform into a HUGE monstrous humanoid. I'm a giant half dragon. :) This spell is in ultimate magic. My specs have gone up drastically.

Round 1 wrap up:

Init:

Spider
Faylin
Skerrin
Nadya
Kesh

Attack on players:

Eye fire damage:12d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 4, 2, 4, 2, 4, 3, 4, 1, 1) = 33
Claw attacks:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 311d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 381d20 + 19 ⇒ (11) + 19 = 301d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
Claw damage:2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
Bite attack:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28

Saves:

The spider turns to face Faylin and the rest of party. Its eyes begin to glow, seconds later fire shoots out of them. I need everyone to make me a reflex save. If your save fails take 33 damage otherwise you take 16 damage. It will rear up and try to hit Faylin with its front 4 claws but only 1 lands true. Take 11 damage(not adjusted for dr) from the claw.

Faylin you move forward, provoking an attack of opportunity, and both your sword attack and its bite attack miss. Skerrin see the spoiler below for the results of your knowledge check. Nadya your blur type spell goes off and your able to teleport out of its reach. Kesh you move into the room and grow. The spider hisses at you.

Congratulations you're flanked by two huge creatures Faylin...one your pretty sure whats to kill you and the other...well it is a giant dragon so...lol

This room wasn't meant to hold this many big creatures so things are getting VERY cramped in here. See the link below for a picture of the classroom. Currently we have Kesh(as a huge creature), Feylin, and the spider(also a huge creature) at the front of the class room.

Skerrin:

Not all constructs are formed from unliving matter like stone, wood, metal, or dead flesh. In the darkest corners of the Great Beyond, certain powerful demon lords have mastered the art of shaping the raw, protoplasmic flesh of the Abyss into hideous monstrosities devoid of life, emotion, and the will to resist control. The monstrous retriever is the best-known of such constructs, a huge spider-like creation capable of unleashing potent energy upon those it has been ordered to seek.

Demon lords use retrievers to seek out those who dare abandon their loyalties or f lee from servitude. Often, the presence of a retriever in a demon’s den is enough in and of itself to ensure the loyalty of the lesser demons. The constructs also excel in tracking down specific objects and returning them to their masters—their intelligence is just enough to allow them to focus on their ordered tasks but not quite enough for them to form ideas of rebellion and longings for freedom.
A retriever’s body is the size of an elephant, and its legspan is nearly 30 feet. It weighs 6,500 pounds.

Basic Map

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

I doubt 14 makes it so I'll take 41 dmg, as a free action I use my defending property on the sword to boost my AC.

Combat Stats:

AC 38 touch 16 flat-footed 35
hp 100/141 DR 3/-
CMD 32 (47 vs bullrush, 45 vs trip)

Action 1:
Faylin roars, holding his shield before him he attempts to push back the spider creature.

Bull Rush: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32

I have greater bull rush so (if I succeed) anyone threatening the spider can take an AOO.

Action 2:
Fighting Defensively Faylin unleashes a flurry of swift strikes.

Slash 1 (Spider): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29, Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Reflex save 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 1 = 29
Hopefully that is successful, let us know that the DC is and we can automatically update our hp.

Also, don't forget that you are all hasted. If you are making a full attack action, you get an extra attack. You also get +1 to attack, and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. You also get an extra 30 feet on movement. Full description is linkable from Haste in my status.

Round 2
Status Initiative 17, 46/62 hp or 29/62 hp, Haste 10 more rounds, Blur, AC 22/16/16

Nadya blinks out of sight and suddenly reappears right next to the spider reaching out to touch it with her hand three times.

Standard Action: Full-round attack with Aging Touch (using all three daily uses)
Touch Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Touch Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Touch Attack 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage (if normal creature): 6 STR damage per successful touch

Damage 2: 13d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 1, 6, 5, 1, 5, 5, 5, 4, 2, 5) = 48
Damage 3: 13d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 3, 6, 1, 1, 4, 1, 4, 5, 5, 1) = 41

Alternate Action:

Move Action: Time Hop to teleport to range of a touch attack. No AOO allowed with Time Hop
Standard Action: Melee touch attack to activate Erase from Time.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
If that lands, make DC 24 Fort save or the spider disappears for 6 rounds.

Lol, curses, totally forgot about haste

My AC is actually AC 39 touch 17 flat-footed 35 for action 1.

For Action 2 my AC is AC 42 touch 20 flat-footed 38, And I get another attack, 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26, Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Male -Unkown- Sorcerer level 1

Kesh will melee the spider all out. Seeing as how my reach is good enough, no movement should be necessary.

Bite Attack:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 For:3d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) + 22 = 33
Claw 1:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 For:3d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 1, 4) + 15 = 22

Additional Bite due to Haste:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 For:3d6 + 22 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) + 22 = 32

The enormous, wingless, dragonesque monster lunges into the spider ferociously clawing and biting the thing. Battle of the behemoths. I'm diggin this part :)

Male Elf Magus (Bladebound/Hexcrafter) 1

Round 2:

"That thing is a 'Retriever', a daemonic construct."

He then throws a Persistent Glitterdust at the beast.

DC 22 Will save, or blind for 13 rounds. If it passes the save, it needs to immediately make a second one, in order to actually save, due to the 'persistence' effect.

Saves:

Save vs Persistent Glitterdust:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Seeing the large dragon like creature enter the room the spider will try to bite and claw at Kesh, all its attacks landing on the poor hapless dragon. Take 93 damage(not adjusted for dr if you have any) from 4 claws and a bite attack.

Faylin you roar and charge at the spider but you don't knock it prone.

Skerrin you're spell goes off and fortunately it is blind for the next 13 rounds.

Nadya you shift to the square next to it and 2 out of your three touch attaks hit, doing a total of 86 damage to the creature. Its head snaps around and its eyes begin to glow a bright blue color. Ice comes spraying out of its eyes, make me a reflex save DC 21. If you make the save take 19 damage other wise take 38.

Kesh you lash out at the spider, wanting to retaliate for the pain it caused you but only two of your attacks lands true. It takes 62 damage from your attacks.

Okay guys I need reflex saves out of Skerrin and Kesh from last round for the energy that shot out of the spiders eyes. The DC is 21 if you make the save you take 16 damage but if you fail you take 32 damage. Nayda I need a reflex save from you as well, as described above.

For what ever reason I've been rolling a lot of 20's lately...sorry kesh...

Damage taken so far:

Skerrin-16 or 32 pending reflex save(from previous round)
Nadya-16 + 19 or 38 pending on reflex save
Kesh- 96 + 16 or 32 pending reflex save(from previous round)

Male -Unkown- Sorcerer level 1

As an immediate action, just before the spiders attack, Kesh will activate Arcane Shield and sac my last fifth level spell for +5 AC for the round.

Kesh is furious. He roars out loud and attacks again going all out once again.

Bite 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 For:3d6 + 22 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) + 22 = 35

Claw 2:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 For:3d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) + 15 = 28

I will use the same immediate action again on a fourth level spell to raise my AC to +4 if the spider decides to attack me again. Only if it attacks me.

oop forgot reflux:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Last Round:
Reguarding the attacks against my allies, with the use of the bodyguard feat I'm able to use an AOO to aid another, providing them with a +4 bonus AC.

Nadya: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35 Success

Kesh: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26 Success

If the attack still hits Kesh, I'm going to use "In Harm's Way" to take the crit for him, using Fortified Armor Training to apply the broken condition to my shield and soaking the crit. (still take normal damage from the hit though.)

And btw, was trying to bull rush, not trip.

Faylin roars, dropping his tower shield he charges for the dragon, holding his sword in both hands he leaps, bringing his sword down hard on the beast.

Power Attack/Charge: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40, Damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (4) + 27 = 31

Combat Stats (For First Action):

Ready Action, if/when the spider or dragon does a breath attack or something similar I stand in front of my allies and hold up the shield facing them, creating what equates to a wall on that face of the square.

Combat Stats (For Second Action):

Reflex Save 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 1 = 20

Nadya tries to dodge the ice, but takes the full brunt of the blast. Crystals cake her hair and cloak, but she shakes free.

Round 3
Status Initiative 17, 8/62 hp, Haste 9 more rounds, Blur, AC 22/16/16

Nadya blinks out of sight again and reappears on the other side of the room out of the spider's reach. She grabs the symbol around her neck and again speaks words in a heavenly voice.

Celestial:

Gods blast this creature back to hell or wherever it came from.

Uses Time Hop to get back out of reach and Casts Spear of Purity at the spider.

A spear of pure white light explodes from Nadya's Desnan holy symbol right toward the center of the spider.

Damage (if evil) 5d8 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 5, 5) = 18 DC 20 Will Save for half damage, half damage if neutral, no damage if good
Damage (if evil outsider) 10d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 3, 4, 2, 5, 2, 6, 2) = 32 DC 20 Will Save for half damage

Round 2 - Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19.

Round 3:

48/80 hp, AC 17/17/12, CMD 21, Magic Circle Against Evil.

Feeling that his companions have things well in hand, Skerrin delays, watching the fight unfold with interest.

Damage redirected:

Kesh new damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 3) + 8 = 132d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 2) + 8 = 131d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Faylen new damage:4d6 + 16 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 6) + 16 = 33

Kesh you gave me your actions for last round so it won't prevent the damage. But I will allow it to go off this round so you will get the +5 AC now. But I will allow Faylen to use his body guard ability and his In Harms Way ability to soak one of the crits. Because of the bodyguard ability one of the claw attacks is negated and one crit doesn't confirm wile the other is soaked by Faylen and Kesh you take 39 damage and Faylen you take 33 damage and your shield is now broken.

And unfortunately your body guard ability couldn't be active for Nayda because she's to far away.

Round 3 Wrap up

Eye Attack on Kesh, Faylen, and Skerrin:1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32

Save's vs spells:

Sensing the dragon still in front of it the spider's eyes turn back to Kesh and it goes for another round of attacks on the dragon but(assuming Faylen uses bodyguard again) all the attacks miss. Being close to death and frustrated the Spider will also let loose with his most devastating attack. His eyes glow brown and then energy shoots out from them hitting Kesh, Faylen, and Skerrin(I assume everyone has less than a 32 touch ac). I need fortitude saves DC 21 from those three players.

I have to stop the round here because if those players fail they're saves they won't be able to act. You'll see what happens later.

Faylen I also want to ask if your first action was a typo. Did you mean to attack the dragon or the spider. If you meant to attack the dragon I'll let it stand but wanted to clarify because out of character you know thats Kesh right? Oh and I assumed you would use bodyguard again on the attacks on Kesh before, if not let me know.

Lol no, I did not realize that kesh was the dragon. I guess I should have read his actions more carefully, I do remember you saying that I was flanked by a dragon and a spider but I wasn't entirely sure what or where the dragon came from. I'll just default to action 2, it'll make things simpler. And yes, ima guardin bodies.

(btw, did that damage you rolled for me come from one attack or several? it matters for DR)

"Yes, what happened here. Who brought that creature?"

Diplomacy 1d20 + 23 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 23 + 2 = 30

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My dad had a valve replaced and an anurism repaired on his heart yesterday so I've been with him in the hospital. But I'm back now

The student groans a little and coughs but begins to stur. She rolls over and to look at Skerrin and Nadya. She blushes a little at Nadya's question. "I did...I thought I could control it and show off for my fellow students...guess I was wrong" she said with a slight chuckle which was followed by a coughing fit and groans of pain. "Please...don't tell the head master" she requests weakly.

If you take the time to look around the room you see that its been pretty much destroyed. The bottom half is covered in a thick sheet of ice that is quickly starting to dissipate. There are burn marks from the electricity that the creature had been firing off.

After a moment of silence you hear rushed footprints.

Wow, I'm sorry DM. Sounds like you and your dad have had a rough stretch, but we're glad to have you back. I hope your dad's recovery goes well.

Nadya shakes her head sadly at the student, "Darlin' somehow I think your headmaster is going to figure it out for himself. Whatever happens, come see Nadya in Citadel Crest in a week. I have uses for anyone as ambitious as you."

Diplomacy 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (20) + 23 = 43

The girl seems to get a little nervious as the foot steps come closer. She looks to the group, tears starting to form in her eyes.

I stole a scroll of greater planar binding. As I said before it was an attempt to impress my fellow students. Please don't let the headmaster find out...if he does I'll be kicked out of the Acadamae and its all I have... As Nadya makes her she seems to brigten up a little Well my home is here but if that isn't true anymore I'll do just that. The students eyes narrow a little and she looks hard at Nadya Though one must wonder what kind of uses you have?

At this point you hear the headmaster scream out in the hallway. SESKA he bellows. The girl jumps and gets to her feat, still a little woozy from her encounter with the spider. She hangs her head and calls Coming and she slowly makes her way out of the classroom.

if you guys wish to save her from her fate I need you to make me diplomicy checks and head out to the hall to talk to the headmaster otherwise you can wait here.

Nadya steps confidently beyond the student and out into the hall, "Greetings again Toff. It seems you have someone trying to begin your Breaching Festival a little early. Looks like this poor girl got caught up in it. Fortunately, you had us on hand to deal with the problem. I don't think you'd want any word of uncontrolled students or extraplanar monstrosities getting out would you?" Why don't you let me take her back to my manor until things settle back down and I'm sure no one will learn of this little problem.

The large dragon shrinks into the cloak he was wearing as Kesh. The little man fastens his cloak to conceal his features once more. He quietly begins to examine the area.

Perception to find any articles or tomes about the monster. He is curious to find the source of this thing. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30

Faylin just kind of shrugs as if it really isn't his business.

Male Elf Magus (Bladebound/Hexcrafter) 1

Skerrin waits with interest, watching what Toff's reaction to Nadya will be...

Toff scowled at the student and then looks up at Nadya. Yes I'm glad you where here to clean up her mess...but by this time in her career she should know better. He then turns to Seska and his eyes narrow Just how did you manage to make such a mess, this wouldn't have anything to do with the missing scroll I got a report about this morning would it?

Seska blushes a crimson red and looks down at the ground, to ashamed to talk. Toff shakes his head I see...You are here by fined the cost of the scroll you stole and any repairs to the class room. She starts to protest a little but Toff makes it very clear to her that she needs to stop so Seska just goes off to sulk somewhere. Toff then turns to Nadya and Skerrin.

I apologize for this little...distraction. Trust me it isn't normal for things like this to happen. I usually keep quite a tight ship but with the festival tomorrow some of our more...ambitious students seem to take on more than they can handle. With you defeating such a great foe I'm sure everything you face tomorrow will be a breeze. Take this as a thank you for all your quick reacting. And please seek out any medical attention needed, the Academae will gladly cover any costs, though it looks as if everyone survived.

He hands Nadya 900 pp and then turns to return to his office.

"Okay then, we shall see you on the morrow."

Okay, NOW. Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll

Skerrin nods.

"That seems fair..."

Skerrin is happy to seek medical attention, and then to ensconce himself in a library for the rest of the day, in preparation for The Breaching on the morrow! :-)

Once Toff has left, Nadya comments to the others, "Interesting. Not sure I trust our friend Toff at all. There is something more going on here than meets the eye. Stand still for a moment and I will heal each of you. Spend the money well to be better prepared in the morning."

Nadya casts Heal on each member of the group and then provides each with 225 pp

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days...

The party disperses that night and Skerrin and Kesh entertain themselves in the school library for the night. The two of you will be escorted there by Jandar(the human you met earlier after leaving Toff's office) and once you arrive it doesn't take much to get him to leave you alone. You find much more information on the Breeching festival than what I can possibly type up here so I'll give you a +5 to any knowledge checks required through out the rest of the module that pertain to the festival its self.

Faylen you're able to locate the academe's hang out spot. Its not really a traditoinal bar so you appraoch not expecting much. After all this place is filled with nerds(mages) but you are quickly surprised at the amount of trouble people are getting themselves in. You would suspect with the Breeching festival being the next day that the students are letting off some stress from all the preparations. It doesn't take long until you're approached by several female students who are impressed with your brawn and want to...well I think you know where this is heading. You can decline if you wish or you can take them up on their offer.

What kind of trouble does our local crime lord try to get herself into tonight Nadya?

Nadya hits the streets and activates her network to see what she can uncover about what Toff may be hiding. She doesn't trust that he actually wants a winner and is certain that there must be an alternative motive to bring in a group as strong as herself, Skerrin, Kesh, and Faylin. While working her contacts, she also purchases one or two potions of Magic Circle Against Evil from the highest level caster she knows.

Yes....two pretty magic students walk up to me, what do I say....um... hell yes?

Faylin runs off with the women and spends the night as he does every night before heading out for adventure. Make sure that there's going to be mini Faylin's to carry on the family line.

I spend a very nice amount of gold on the night with the women, staying at the best inn, awesome food and the like. The next day I slip out while they're still sleeping, leaving a letter with each of their names on it. It basically says in as romantic and poignant words that he can manage (which is I'd imagine at this point in his career quite moving) that he is to participate in the breaching festival and he wishes that the both of them live as best they can. Also in the letter is a promissory note for around 10k to be redeemed from the bank of Abadar to aid them in raising his love children.

Well at least he's a responsible man whore...lol

Nadya:
You find out that Toff has been headmaster for the last 30 years and was once one of the most powerful arcanists in Varisia. Other than that you aren't able to find out much other than he really wishes to have a winner so that the reputation of the festival can change. You're told that the reason for such high powered characters to be gathered here is two fold. The first reason is that he really would like to see a winner this year. The second is that the students and other people who put together the challenges that make up the festival have been increasing the level of these challenges and they feel any lessor group would easily be killed. Some feel that even with the group that is assembled this year there isn't really a very good chance of survival.

Sunday morning arrives with a single sharp ringing of the campus bells at the break of dawn. Those of you who choose to ignore the tolling of the bells will soon hear the movement of hundreds of people as they start gathering on the surrounding walls and the campus's southern quad.

As you gather in the southern quad you notice hundreds of common fold sit or stand atop the Acadamae's southern walls, while vendors of refreshments and sovenirs wander nosily and often through the mass. Important observers, such as aristocrats and other prominent locals and nobles, are allowed to gather at ground level among several large and colorful tents and pavilions. Most of these pavilions seem occupied but one still remains empty with a large sign sitting in front that reads Keep out! Tent reserved for Queen Ileosa. Those of you from the area know that she is the Queen of all of Varisia and that she makes it a point, though more out of ritual now, to make her presence known during the festival every year.

You all make your way to the quad just south of the Hall of Summoning. Other than the party members you have already met there are Three other people who are escorted here. You assume them to be other participants in the festival this year. Among them there are a female human, a male dwarf, and a male human. Judging from their attire you can figure out that the dwarf and the human are a fighter and a wizard(enchanter). The female is a little harder to peg down.

You would guess its about a half an hour after dawn now(6:30 AM) and this would be a good time to discuss strategy or to size up your fellow competition.

He prefer's the term Philanthropist

Philanthropy:
Philanthropy etymologically means "the love of humanity"—love in the sense of caring for, nourishing, developing, or enhancing.
