Well done team... I think something foul, magics of the longshanks sort happened to this gob. Be careful what you handle in here.

He says making a great show of waving his hands and wiggling his fingers. He even mutters some mumbo jumbo for a moment to make it look like he was up to something...

Those things are fine i think perhaps I will need to make a more thorough examination out in the light but for now feel free to use those things.

He said already half bored with the monstrous gob. He was more interesting in what might have caused such a thing... that would be interesting indeed.

Puseater looks at the magic goblin, while shaking his head.

Now he worries about cursed things? Heh, let's see who laught more when another arm grows from his belly to help him with the large cursed stick he is holding.

What do you think the lids are hiding? Food for the Three of Seven? Shinies?

Asks the little gobling, while trying to remove one of the lids totally forgeting about dangers, monsters, traps or curses.

After searching the body, Tochack offers a brief prayer to the monstrous gobbo.
"Sticky, do you want to hold on this? Looks too bog for gobbos, but it's shiny!" the Sarenite says as he points to the +1 magicky longsword.

When Pus tries to open one of the pits, Tochack stays right behind him, hoping that nothing jumps out.*

*I've learned my lesson with critting zombiekings :P

Each pit contains a single Zombie. If Auntie Targa was here, she'd probably die of happiness. As they're unable to escape the pits without outside assistance, nobody needs to worry about whether or not they're ZombieKings. ;-)

Since the entire party is made up of small-sized races, I'm implementing a houserule where magic items can be resized one size category in either direction. In other words, that longsword can be S, M, or L depending on the size of the wielder.

Also, to save time, I've opened up a few additional rooms. Let me know where you're heading next.

B10 - Blocked Stairwell
This twisting flight of stairs leads down to another level of this ancient complex. Unfortunately, it's completely blocked off by rubble.

B11 - Strange Chamber
This strange room is a fifteen-foot-diameter sphere. Several objects float in the room, spinning lazily in space - a ragged book, a scroll, a bottle of wine, a dead raven surrounded by a halo of floating and writhing maggots, and a twisted iron wand with a forked tip. Yet perhaps the most unnerving aspect of the room is the walls, for they are plated in sheets of strange red metal that ripple every once in a while with silent black electricity that seems to coalesce into strange runes or even words far too often for the effect to be chance.

If any of the floating items are touched:
Surprise! They're loot! No ill-effects. :-)
Scroll - burning hands (CL 3)
Book - Lamashtu prayer book written in Abyssal (worth 100gp)
Wand - shocking grasp (28 charges remaining)

Anyone read Thassalonian?:
The shifting symbols occasionally form words relating to anger, wrath, and a need for revenge. They never form a complete thought, though.

"Plays, can you tell us what those creepy floaty things are? Are they dangerous?" the grey gobbo asks the intelligent gobbo.
Plays's smart, he must know. He also brave, always works with books that steal words out of gobbos' heads.

He thought about chastising sticky about taking the stick so quickly... It was no doubt probably a magic wand of sorts and would probably be most useful in expanding his power. . . but the gob probably didnt have a clue how to use it, so he could always deal with that later... the book and the scroll however, those he moved torwards.

Tochack nods at Plays words, averting his gaze from the floaty written things.
Ah, we lucky we have Plays. Still, me still worried about those Birdcrunchers and that Seven Tooth monster gobbo be doing here, in place with scary black thunder-ed walls-
The goblin's pondering is interrupted by Sticky flying toward the door, missing him by an inch. "By Fire Hair's glowy firey scimitar! Sticky, you okay?"

Plays' Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Plays puts his prodigious brain to work analyzing the wand. After a few minutes, he figured out the command word!

Which will naturally cause another explosion when used. ;-) I'll let you retry tomorrow or when you gain a level.

Tochack sighs with relief when the wise Plays finds out the magic word to not make the wand go boom again.
"So, we finish exploring? There where other rooms on this floor, and me also saw other stairs. Maybe we find out who transformed Seven Tooth gobbo!" he asks the party, and moves out if everyone agrees.

Walking, the goblin holds his wounds with his hand: he felt that the Fire Hair would have granted him her powers for another time or two that day, but waited to do so in case his flock needed it more.
Me can still fight, but wonders why me can't do that healy thing other priests at the temple did... they prayed to Fire Hair and everyone around got glowy healed.

Basing this post on Tochack's map position.

The tunnel widens here into what appears to have once been a small shrine, for the the northeast, steps lead up to a platform of gray stone. Sitting atop the platform is an ancient altar, little more than a jagged block of black marble with a shallow concavity on top of it. This basin is filled with what appears to be filthy water.

After taking a deep breath, Tochack warily pokes the puddle with his scimitar, hoping that it didn't jump at him.

I guess it's Unholy Water, but there's now way Tochack would know that :P

Oh, it can become Unholy Water under the right condition. At the moment, though, it's something else entirely....

When Tochack pokes the water, ripples spread out from the sword point, extending until they reach the edge of the basin and disperse. In other words, nothing unusual happens.

No magic except what's on your persons.

This huge room looks like nothing more than an immense underground cathedral. Stone doors stand to either side of the main entrance, but beyond this, the walls are carved with strange spiky runes. In the center of the room is a large pool, with a ring of polished human skulls balanced on stone spikes arranged in a circle around the deeper midsection. At the far end of the room, a pair of stone stairways leads up to a pulpit on which stands a second pool, this one triangular and filled with churning, bubbling water that looks almost like translucent lava. Yet while wisps of what look like heat and steam rise from the strange orange liquid, the room itself is deathly cold.

A tiny demonic creature hovers over the pool and looks down at you when the door opens. With and expression of rage, she screams, "You will pay for defiling the Mother's sanctum!" Her words are not in any language you're familiar with, but you understand her perfectly. Pulling out a pint-sized dagger, she slashes her wrist and lets a few drops of blood fall into the orange pool. The liquid bubbles, and a sin-pawn emerges.

Plays smites the flying monster with a force missile, and Tochack carves a chunk from the sin-pawn's chest. The flying monster's wound begins to heal as she chants. When the chanting ends, three demonic eagles swoop to attack you!

Sticky is smoldering mad. And he's smoldering too, which does nothing for his mood. He screams in fury and dives at the nearest foe in a deadly temper tantrum.

The goblin, resigned, drops his ruined weapon while striking with its remaining dogslicer, stabing the aberrant creature in the groin, causing intense pain at it. Then, with a swift move, Puseater draws a shortsword with his, now, free hand.

Take pain, sin-pawn!

you said it the wrong way Sticky, Its magic, Inflection is important!

He growled up taking a step back and waggling his fingers in a fan sprouting out magical words, a fan of flames leaving his hand and fanning out over the summoned eagles.

The sinspawn collapses under the combined assault of Pus and Tochack. Sticky bites one of the eagles, and Plays unleashes gouts of fire. An eagle disintegrates, and the other looks severely burned. The eagles retaliate with a flurry of talons and beaks, and it takes everything you have to dodge the assault. The flying demon thing, meanwhile, glares at Tochack. "You dare to attack my Lady's minion?!? Remain here to face Her wrath!" As you watch, her wound continues to heal.

Puseater attacks the nearest eagle with his two weapons, just looking at brother and his strange tactic.

Uh? Whats this? Are you practicing statue style? is it any good against birds?

Plays: 2pts damage, subtract two more force missiles
Puseater: 4pts damage
Tochack: 2pts damage

Plays fires off two more force missiles at the flying monster. It takes damage but doesn't seem particularly injured. As you watch, its wounds continue to rapidly heal. An enraged Sticky bites his eagle. As he sinks his teeth into its neck, it disintegrates. Puseater swings mightily with his shortsword at the other eagle but misses. The bird, meanwhile, gives him a nasty peck before disintegrating. Tochack, meanwhile continues to struggle mightily against his magical shackles but is unable to break free until they vanish of their own accord. While all this takes place, the flying demon thing continues to scream insults to the "Filthy infidels who dare to defile Mother's Sanctum with their presence. New you will feel the sting of her teeth!" She pulls out a tiny dagger and hurls it at Sticky, striking him in the shoulder. Before he can react, the dagger flies back to your attacker, and she throws it into Plays' chest. A split second later, it flies back into her hand. "HAHAHAHAHA!!! Your pain pleases Mother. I will cover this room with your blood!"
