Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Cool. Good idea. My plan for this round is to curse a duplicate, activate my Infernal Armour, and Eyebite.

Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame

Vel moves out from behind the wall and takes in the situation. "Three Kyleths," she mutters. Vel closes her eyes for a moment, then when she opens them she is bathed in red and white flickering flames that continue to surround her.

Realizing the Magister is probably both the most important most vulnerable, Vel levels a pair of force bolts at the threatening decoy.

Move to D12.
Minor: Fire Shield (gain resist 10 cold and resist 10 fire until the end of the encounter. Whenever a creature makes a melee attack roll against you, it takes 2d6 + 5 fire damage. No creature can take this damage more than once per turn.)
Standard: Magic Missile vs D2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9

Arianwyn and Kia need to attack each other and Whiteclaw needs to attack Gobi.

Shrouded in fire and ice, Vel sends force bolts satisfyingly into the second duplicate. Proving that they share more than their creator's looks, the half-elf beauty fixes the mage with a stare before remarking to her sisters

"As soon go kindle fire with snow, as seek to quench the fire of hate with force."

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Melee basic, I assume?

Basic attack of whatever type. Doesn't have to be melee, but makes sense in this case.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

vs AC

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

That will just hit her. 3hp damage to Kia

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

C'mon 1 :). Melee Basic: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26On hit:1d10 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Basic melee against Arianwyn

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 241d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

"Sorry...!"

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

"I hope you don't all start spouting rubbish like your friend over there."

Move to 8H (take 5hp damage) Warlord's Favour

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 152d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 4) + 5 = 16

In the unlikely event that that hits, Arianwyn gets +4 to his attack rolls against D1 to the end of Kia's next turn. If it misses, it's just a wasted encounter power

Photobucket won't let me edit the map. Normal service will be resumed as soon as I can access it again. Apologies for the delay.

Kia apologetically takes a sizeable chunk out of Arianwyn and moves on to her real enemy. Thoroughly un-nerved, she misses and the duplicate adds insult to injury by quoting more poetry at her.

"Ambition is a lust that is never quenched, but grows more inflamed and madder by enjoyment."

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it. Photobucket still out for the count. If it's not back by tomorrow I'll see what I can do to find an alternative.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Gonna do up my action real quick, so that you can resolve when you do Reason.

Ignoring the duplicates, and the pain the aura causes, Whiteclaw closes in on Kyleth. "Have you ever seen your own heart, witch? You will soon, for I'm going to show it you before you die." Her words are followed with a swing of her axe.

Move to M11. Form of the Winter Herald's Attack:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24vs AC. On hit: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 and target is immobilized (save ends). On miss, half damage and target is immobilized until the end of my next turn. Mark her. Oh, damage is cold damage..

Thanks for that. I'll stitch it together as soon as I can. I hate Photobucket right now.

Glory be. Normal service can be resumed. Firefox sneaked in a browser update and Photobucket disapproved. Fussy.

Reason steps clear of the barrier to take another shot at the nearest duplicate. He nods satisfied, tail swishing slightly, as Ioun's light hits hard, bestowing additional strength to Kia's arm.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 - Lance of Faith (Ref) v D1. 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8, +2 to Kia on her next attack v D1

Whiteclaw is even more effective. Suffusing herself and her blade with ice, she just manages to get past Kyleth's defenses and holds her ground, defying the witch to leave the spot.

Seraphiel emerges from behind the barrier and sends more dazzling light towards D1, hoping to reduce the number of foes. His aim is less sure than Reason or Whiteclaw and the attack bounces off the ground doing nothing.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 - Sun Strike (Ref) v D1

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Minor - Curse - D1. Standard - Eyebite on D1.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 121d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 61d6 ⇒ 5 Psychic damage, then normal damage

If that hits, I am invisible to D1 until start of my next turn. Move to O5. Concealment.

Arianwyn's eyes glow with power as he spits in an arcane tongue at one of the duplicates.

Arianwyn fares no better against the duplicate than he did against her original.

Gobi grits his teeth and moves to flank with Whiteclaw before unleashing his most powerful attack on Kyleth. Avandra is listening to his prayers and his attack is daunting in its strength. To top things off, he invokes his goddess and challenges Kyleth.

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 - Martyr's Retribution (AC) - spend one surge without gaining hp. On hit does 4d10 + 8 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 10) + 8 = 28. On miss does half damage.

Kyleth draws a sharp breath.

"'Tis better to bear the ills we have than fly to others that we know not of."

Spinning on her heel, she strikes at Whiteclaw and Gobi, daring them to come near her.

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21 - v Whiteclaw (AC). Rod double attack (must attack different targets). On hit target is pushed 2 squares.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29 - v Gobi (AC). Rod double attack (must attack different targets). On hit target is pushed two squares.

Hits Whiteclaw, misses Gobi. 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 normal damage and 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 necrotic damage. Total 13hp damage to Whiteclaw

With what may be fear in her eyes, she conjures another duplicate, seemingly weakening herself to do so and launches another wrathful attack on Whiteclaw and Pirot. Bloodied

Used AP. Wrathfire recharges when first bloodied. Close blast 5 targeting Pirot and Whiteclaw.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 - Ref v Whiteclaw. On hit target is slid 2 squares and makes a basic attack on the nearest ally.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31 - Ref v Pirot. On hit target is slid 2 squares and makes a basic attack on nearest ally.
Misses Whiteclaw but hits Pirot who is slid two squares and takes 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7 damage and attacks Arianwyn.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 - save v immobilisation

Pirot gasps as Kyleth's smile widens. "My thanks, oh former master. Much is now restored to me."
She can summon next turn.

Luckily for the warlock, Pirot proves a very unready fist fighter.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 - Pirot v Arianwyn.

The duplicates smile at each other and continue to pummel the companions.

D1 smites viciously at Kia and shifts away.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 - Rod attack (AC) v Kia. On hit target is pushed 2 squares. Miss

D2 moves to flank the dwarf and strikes out at him, hoping to push him aside.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 - Rod attack (AC) v Gobi. On hit target is pushed 2 squares.
Hits. 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 normal damage plus 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 necrotic damage. Total 17hp damage to Gobi.

D3 launches a bolt of incendiary madness towards Vel before taking cover behind a mannequin. The mage stumbles unwillingly into D1's aura.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 - Unhinging Ray (Will) v Vel. On hit target is slid 2 squares and makes a basic attack on the nearest ally.
Hits. 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 - 5hp normal damage to Vel who makes a basic attack on Kia at -2 for cover.

Vel also takes 5hp damage for entering the aura and will take a further 5 for starting her turn there.

Duplicate 3

Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame

Vel lobs a force bolt at Kia around the mannequin, and winces as they strike home on her friend. Moving faster than her friends have seen, Vel dodges across the battlefield to a better (and, with luck, safer) vantage.

From there, she mimes a throwing motion and a bead of force explodes between Kyleth and one of her duplicates. The force does no obvious damage, but leaves a swathe of flames behind.

Frustrated, Vel then evokes her trademark golden flames in the same location, to much more satisfactory results.

MM vs Kia w/cover 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 2 = 21 vs Ref, 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14 force. Wow, look at that - almost max damage! Sorry.

Expeditious Retreat - shift to L3.

Orbmaster's Detonation vs Ref: Kyleth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16, D2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14. Damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 force and knock prone. Effect: Zone burst 3 from L13 to end of my turn after next, enemy entering or starting takes 2 fire.
Well that was no good.

AP: Scorching Burst at L13 vs Ref: Kyleth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30, D2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26. Damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 fire.
Crit on Kyleth, total damage 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18 fire.
Now that's more like it.

EDIT: Incidentally, if Kyleth or D2 has resist fire, they take an extra 5 fire from my fire powers TEOMNT -- as it's powers, and not attacks, I think that includes the zone.

Kia - apologetic 13hp damage to you from Vel.

Vel shimmies with astonishing speed across the battleground venting her frustrations in flaming rebukes.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Bloodied. Barely. Which is good, I get bonus damage!

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Kia is bloodied BTW

"This is ridiculous, we don't even know who the enemy is anymore! OK, let's get rid of at least one of these mock Kyleth's and then, maybe I won't have to hear them spout so much nonsense."

Move to H10 (avoiding the OA by doing a bit of a zig-zag but taking an additional 5HP damage anyway from aura) - Sunder armour vs D1 - then teleport out (using an action point) to I5

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 292d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 5 = 9

Pathetic damage but, assuming that hits, all attacks against D1 until the end of Kia's next turn can score a crit on 18-20. So let's take that dummy down.

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Sorry, I just realised that Vel has moved from where she is shown on the map. So the attack roll is only 27 (which I hope still hits)

Kia shows her disdain for all things poetic as she lands a blow. While not as effective as she'd like, the duplicate seems to sense that worse may follow.

"Mind your speech a little lest you should mar your fortunes," she smiles as Kia's blow strikes home.

Reason is due back from his Dominican hideaway any time now.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Gonna pop mine up again, so you can resolve with Reasons since given his map location, I'm guessing he won't interfere with my own action.

Whiteclaw slips back into the aura around Kyleth to stand next to Gobi. She grins to the dwarf, then growls at Kyleth and then the swings her axe in the air. It's not just a gesture, however, as howling icy winds race over Kyleth and one of her duplicates.

Move to O12. Winter's Grip, covering L,M, and N 12 to 14. Attacks at +10 vs Fort on Kyleth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 and K2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20. On a hit: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 cold damage and the target is slowed (save ends). On a miss half damage. In addition, the blast area is covered in ice and any creature that enters it, or starts his/her turn in it, takes 5 damage.

As the winds fade away, Whiteclaw's axe waves once more, and vines shoot from it heading towards Kyleth.

Action point. Thorn Strike which targets AC. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24. On a hit: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 and I pull her to N12. Also, on a hit, after the pull, free action to mark her.

Whiteclaw - how long does the cold zone last?

Reason moves to where he can see the second duplicate and concentrates on bringing her down. Ioun's eyes are elsewhere at this time and the light illuminates only the healing sand.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 - LoF(Ref) v D2

Whiteclaw ignores all other distractions and concentrates on the origin of your troubles, slicking the ground with ice and pulling the witch towards her lovingly entwined with vines.

"Hast learned then, to keep thine enemies closer than thy friends?"

Winter's Grip hit Kyleth and missed D2. You hit with Thorn Strike.

Seraphiel emerges from cover and face darkening with an unaccustomed rage, and launches clear sunlight at D2. Like Reason, the attack serves only to illuminate.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 - Sun Strike (Ref) v D2. On hit can slide target one square. Miss.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Minor - Curse Kyleth. Standard - Mire the Mind on Kyleth.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d10 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Hell yes!

Damage is 15 + 6 (curse) + 2d6 from sword

2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Total damage to Kyleth from Mire the Mind 15+6+12 = 33 damage and I and all my allies are invisible to Kyleth until the end of my next turn!

"There are none so blind as those who cannot see!" Arianwyn murmurs as he banishes all his friends from Kyleth's sight.

Minor - Fiendish Resilience - 6 temp hp.

Eyes and sword blazing, Arianwyn channels the pent up loathing of several long months into one spectacular attack.

Kyleth twists and stares as her enemies vanish from sight and she stretches out an arm to where she thinks the warlock must be.

"Why so harsh, sweeting? I offered you power - still offer it. Power to fulfil your dreams and gain sweet vengeance on your maledictors. Or must false face hide what the false heart doth know?"

Gobi strives to take advantage of the opening and misses...
Boards ate the post, but he rolled a 2.

Pirot staggers back towards the book.
"Take care. She can summon another ally still."

Raising his voice, he adds to Kyleth, "Stop this nonsense now. You were an arrogant fool when I taught you and you're an arrogant fool now. I demand that you stop."

Kyleth laughs. "You demand, little man? You taught me nothing save how to transcend failure. I seek my own destiny and have no coward soul to turn from power. Traitor."

The last word hisses into the air and Pirot cannot help flinching.

Kyleth and her associates moves and actions will follow in a separate post later today.

Pirot is also invisible to her, of course :D I am on 29/55 HP 6 temp HP, full surges (9/9), 1 AP.

Invisible, certainly, but she knows his voice very well.

"Do not doubt that I will sacrifice myself as well as any other foolish enough to stand between me and my goals."

Although Kyleth cannot see the companions, her other selves have no such problems and she pauses to let them act before taking any steps to destroy the party herself.

D1 sends a ray of madness winging towards Arianwyn, urging him to attack Vel.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26 - Unhinging Ray (Will). On hit target slides 2 squares and makes a basic attack on an ally within range. Hits
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 - hp damage to Arianwyn who needs to make a basic attack on Vel. He'll also take Vel's 2d6+5 unless she can decide not to apply it.

D2, newly bloodied by the auras of fire and cold, recharges her wrathful curse and attacks Whiteclaw and Gobi once more.
Wrathfire Curse: Close blast 5 v Ref. On hit targets take 2d6+3 fire damage and are slid 2 squares and make a basic attack on an enemy in range.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 - v Whiteclaw
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 - v Gobi
2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12 - 12hp damge to Whiteclaw and Gobi

To his horror, the dwarf finds his craghammer swinging and hitting his old friend once more.
"Sorry, Whiteclaw, this witch has got into my head somehow."

Gobi's attack on Whiteclaw - 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 (AC). 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15- 15hp damage to Whiteclaw. Ouch. Why couldn't he have rolled like that against Kyleth?

By now the battleground is slick with blood as the third duplicate aims madness at Seraphiel. The deva's own demons are greater however and he ignores the assault.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17 - Unhinging Ray v Will. On hit target slides 2 and makes a basic attack on an ally.

Finally, Kyleth herself makes her move. Shifting onto the sand next to her bloodied duplicate, she breathes deeply and sucks the copy back into herself, becoming visibly stronger as she does so. With a gesture, she calls forth a mutilated human you recognise as one of the devastating clerics from the founding of Bael Turath.

Duplicate 2 has gone, absorbed by Kyleth who is now unbloodied. Second AP used to summon the cleric.

Wild eyed, the proto-tiefling moves onto the battleground, looking for his target. He can't act this turn.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 - save v slow

Whiteclaw please make a basic attack on Gobi.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

All those attacks are at -5 for invisibility? Bloody hell...

Thanks. Kyleth took 5 from your cold zone and 2 from Vel's fire zone. That's why she felt the need to suck one of her other selves dry.

Whiteclaw manages to miss with her axe, cunningly throwing herself off balance so the blows lands on the ground rather than her old friend.

Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame

Ignoring the attack from Arianwyn, and unable to keep her flame shield from damaging him in turn, Vel moves for better position and unleashes her most potent flame spell, catching Kyleth, one of the duplicates, and the sacrificial cleric in the blast.

Can't help the damage, sorry. 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5) + 5 = 14 to Arianwyn. Move: N5. Standard: Fireball to J13, blast 3, vs. Ref. None of this takes into account invisibility or cover, as I'm not sure offhand how they interact with blasts. Minor: Activate Orb of Far Seeing on K, halving range to her for encounter.
Kyleth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
D1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
SC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Crit on SC for 2d6 + 25 ⇒ (2, 5) + 25 = 32
Damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) + 7 = 13 fire, half on miss.

Kyleth didn't attack anyone this turn. Her duplicates did. They can see you, she can't. Arianwyn needs to make a basic attack against Vel.

More flame scorches across the battlefield, bloodying Kyleth once more, damaging her duplicate self and blasting past even the fire resistance of the cleric. For once, the witch seems unable to find words to express herself.

Vel - the cleric has resist fire, do you do any extra damage?

NOTE - Kyleth and her duplicates have an aura 1. Entering or starting a turn in the aura deals 5hp damage and gives a -2 penalty to Will. Enemies only.

Kia - bloodied
Reason
Whiteclaw - resist 5 cold and +1AC
Seraphiel - 46/46hp; 1AP; 7/7 surges
Arianwyn - bloodied
Gobi - 15/65HP; 1AP; 11/12 surges; 2 Lay on Hands; bloodied
Pirot
Duplicate 1 - cursed by Arianwyn; attacks crit on 18-20 to end Kia's next turn
Duplicate 3
*Kyleth - bloodied; marked by Whiteclaw; divinely challenged by Gobi; takes 2hp fire damage at start of turn; marked by Whiteclaw; cursed by Arianwyn; party invisible to her until end Arianwyn's next turn.
Sacrificial cleric
Vel - resist 10 fire and cold to end encounter. A creature making a melee attack takes 2d6+5 fire damage (no more than once per turn per creature)

Cunning devil...

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Basic attack vs Vel.

Arianwyn's arm moves of its own volition...

... and misses the mage.

Spoiler:
Her AC is 21. You really need an armour upgrade Arianwyn.

Spoiler:
Yes, I saw it and wept. She does of course use her Int bonus for AC, which is incredibly high. +3 armour wouldn't go amiss :D

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Realising that silence is the only language these horrible Kyleth's will respect, Kia *looks* at D1 and then moves on.

Kia moves to L7 to heal Whiteclaw a bit and also uses her second wind to help her back to health a bit as well

Whiteclaw can spend a healing surge with an additional 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6) + 3 = 14 HP

Kia is no longer bloodied and has +2 to all defences to the start of her next turn

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Thanks! I'm back to just under bloodied which is pretty perfect Whiteclaw health.

"More hair than wit, as always." sneers Kyleth.

Tail swishing slightly, Reason sends divine light coursing towards D1, but gets distracted by the looming figure of the sacrificial cleric.

Feeling invigorated, Whiteclaw charges Kyleth, doing her best to keep attention on herself while the others deal with images and clerics.

Sustain my aura, ferocious charge, moving to N12. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16. On hit:1d10 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15. Mark her.

Risking the debilitating aura, Whiteclaw hurls herself towards Kyleth, snarling in frustration as the blow misses.
5hp damage for entering the aura.

Seraphiel emerges from behind the barricades and hurls spirit chains at Kyleth, hoping to slow her down. Blinded, the witch cannot avoid the assault and the radiant chains wrap themselves inexorably around her, slowing her movements to a crawl.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 - Chains of Carceri v Ref. On hit target is slowed to end Seraphiel's next turn.
2d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10

Forceful Assault.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 193d8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 5, 3) + 5 = 18 the attack is vs Ref. 13 Force damage ad 5 normal damage, and the target is dazed. On a miss, half damage and no daze.

Arianwyn laughs, and laughs some more. His eyes stream white light into Kyleth.
