Whiteclaw slides to the side, her axe lashing out at the Trap Haunt.

Whiteclaw's attack misses and the trap haunt tries once more to possess her.

The second trap haunt looks hungrily at Gobi. "I want to use that craghammer," it mutters greedily. To his horror, Gobi feels the misty shape ooze unpleasantly into his body.

Unable to do anything much, Seraphiel jabs his quarterstaff into the poltergeists stomach. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, but can't make any impact on the taunting haunt. Abruptly, the deva keels over in a crumpled heap as the Monster in glasses attack takes him down into dark unconsciousness.

Realised - via Character Builder that my Int was far too low (I hadn't used the right number of points or included the Level 4 stat boost). So he now has Int 16 with corresponding increases to AC, Ref and his swordmage attacks.

BTW, I'm trying to maintain my current status in iplay4e which loads directly from the character builder. It is much easier to keep track. I can (in theory) make it visible to anyone who needs to see it


Gobi moves automatically, swinging his craghammer into Vel and hitting the bookcase. Shaking his head, he dislodges the trap haunt which reappears beside him looking aggravated.

Frustrated at being somehow in a completely useless position, and unable to move by any normal means, Kia teleports to I7 (using the Mithrendain swords property on increasing her teleport range. Then:

"Chin up! Vel! I'm sure we're up to this task! And all these dead bores, will die, properly this time."

Inspiring word and Vel can spend a healing surge with 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7 extra HP

"Now, Gobi, let's see if you can hit the enemy."

Commander's Strike vs. T2 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 to hit, 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 damage.

"Oh well, perhaps you need some time to shake off being possessed."

Saving throw for being restrained 1d20 ⇒ 15

Kia feel free to move about again.

If reason fails his first saving throw, he can try again at +2 to stop falling asleep, since Gobi didn't need it.


Kia teleports clear, shakes off the restraining enchantments and looks for fresh worlds to conquer.

Male Tiefling Cleric 11

Reaon concentrates and shifts the Consecrated Ground. centred on D6.

He then fires a blast at the closest foe. Lance of Faith vs T1 Ref (1d20+9=27, 1d8+5=11) if hit, radiant damage & Urho gets +2 power bonus to hit T1 on next attack.

At the start of their turns, T1 takes 1d6+3 radiant, and Whiteclaw heals 4hp.

The tiefling then slips into dreams of the library.

Reason - Kia has offered you a second save at +2 from her amulet. Feel free to take it. The consecrated zone can't be sustained if you drop unconscious.

Not even Kia's help is enough to stop Reason sliding into book-filled dreams, but he launches a successful attack on the nearest trap haunt before succombing. As the cleric falls, the zone of holy light also fades away.

Taking an unusual tack, Vel moves to give Gobi (and herself) a distraction against the wraith and attempts to pummel it with magic missiles from point blank range. This tactic does not appear to pay off immediately.

The Monster in glasses tries to admonish Arianwyn with a look, but is unable to penetrate his armour of confidence. It moves gently across the floor to stand between Kia and the unconcsious Seraphiel.

Brother wraith claws at Gobi again, this time trying to pick him up and blast him across the floor.

"I admit, embracing my dark side is fun. Be seeing you."

Somewhat to his surprise, Gobi finds himself next to the table and quite unable to see the wraith.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 - Lost in the Shadows (Will). On hit target is teleported 5 squares and is dazed. The wraith is invisible to it to the end of wraith's next turn.

More infuriating poltergeist giggles fill the air.
P1 smirks at Arianwyn and waves a casual hand at the warlock. The warlock slides inexorably across the floor, finding himself next to the grinning trap haunt.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 - Kinetic Claw (Fort). On hit target takes 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5) + 5 = 14 damage, is slid 5 squares and is restrained. 14hp damage to Arianwyn

P2 sends a gentle breath of wind towards Vel, which gathers speed and pushes the mage into the space previously occupied by Gobi. The wraith waves a bashful hand at her.
"Good to meet you. Have you found your dark side yet?"

The poltergeist stamps a misty foot - "Stop talking to them! We're supposed to be killing them. I hate you!"

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 - Hurl Away (Ref). On hit target takes 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 damage and is pushed 3 squares. 10hp damage to Vel.

P3 remains focused on Whiteclaw, trying to drive the gnoll further back. The attack hits, and Whiteclaw scrabbles for purchase on the parquet floor as she is pushed away from her quarry.

It's not the minor action - I assumed you would spend it on sustaining the zone unless you told me otherwise - it's the fact that you fell unconscious. You're right - the zone sustains until the start of your next turn and I have amended the map and damage to monsters accordingly. Have a good week.

Whiteclaw strikes the first blow against the nearby poltergeist and Reason's divine glow sears into the trap haunt, clearly the haunt is nearly at the end of its unlife.

Making the most of what may be its last few seconds, the haunt advances once more on Whiteclaw, finally finding a way into her alien mind.

Realizing the wraith is the least of her immediate worries, Vel steps back and hisses to Arianwyn, "Don't do that, or the next one's for you." Attempting to aim through the insubstantial creature, she fires two force missiles at the bloodied poltergeist.

Vel shifts snippily and just fails to hit the poletergeist with her force missiles.

The Monster in glasses looks sadly at Seraphiel, something unreadable in its normally impassive face. Coming to some sort of decision, it moves to the prone deva and with unexpected speed claws viciously at him, twice. Something in the normally serene visage of Seraphiel causes the monster to pull back at the last second, unable to land a proper blow.

I know the axe is +2, been manually figuring it in, waiting until Level 7 to update everything at once :). But, before the Thorn Strike I get my start of turn save. 1d20 ⇒ 13 So, not dominated! Yay!

Shaking off the attack on her mind, Whiteclaw growls and moves to assist the deva, lashing out once more with her axe.

Whiteclaw breaks free of the enchantment and hurls herself towards the Monster in glasses. As she does so, the trap haunt appears beside her, lashing viciously at her as she passes. The claws bite deep. In her shock, Whiteclaw's own attack misses.

Seraphiel's outlandish prayers are answered in emphatic style. As the globe of light engulfs the trap haunt and the creature immolates, the Monster in glasses lunges at the deva. Something that may be fear is written across its face.
