Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Waiting to see if that's a hit or miss before posting further actions.

Miss, even with CA for her being blind. Seraphiel should have hit, I'll amend the init list.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Ah, so 21 misses Ref. Forgot I had CA for her not seeing me. Ah well, still 9 damage. Right - Action Point. Curse of the Dark Dream.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 283d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1, 1) + 5 = 13 On a hit, slide her 3 squares. I can sustain as a minor to slide her 1 square whether a hit or a miss.

Arianwyn changes tack and bores into the witch's mind with a tendril of dark energy.

That was psychic damage with a further...

1d6 ⇒ 4 normal damage

Where should I slide her to, gang?

"It will have blood, they say; blood will have blood. Believe me, creature, for every wound you deal me, I will exact full payment and beyond."

Kyleth hisses as Arianwyn invokes the power of the feywild and launches another series of devastating attacks on her.

Map update pending.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

"Our swords shall play the orators for us," Arianwyn says grimly.

Whilst the others decide on where she should go, I'll move to R5, and thus gain concealment. My cloak also means range attacks from more than 5 squares away, take a -5 penalty. Please remind me of the deal with the sand again.

+2 regen at start of turn while bloodied.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Thought so. Sweet. As a minor - take out Urho.

And where would you like your canine chum placed?

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

I've only taken him out of his pouch. I haven't activated him yet. That would be another standard action. Bwahaha, you never know when a stony dog will come in handy! Although he is now a bit pants. Poor Urho.

OK. I can't update until you tell me where you want Kyleth to be moved to.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

As no-one has chimed in - move her to M10 please.

Arianwyn - moved you to Q4. R5 is a building.

Gobi breathes deeply and restores himself before moving onto the sand and preparing to flank with Whiteclaw.

Pirot concentrates on taking back control of the book, preventing Kyleth from summoning any more horrors from it for the time being.

D1 sends a ray of madness towards Seraphiel and stalks towards Vel.
Unhinging Ray v Will. On hit target slides 2 and makes a basic attack against an ally.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18, 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10. Miss.

D3 moves and tries the same trick with Reason.
Unhinging Ray v Will. On hit target slides 2 squares and makes a basic attack against an ally.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19, 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10. Miss.

Kyleth shifts slightly and smiles as the healing sand restores her a little, even as the flames lick at her body. Her rod swings indecisively for a second before pointing at Whiteclaw.

Unhinging Ray v Will. On hit, target slides 2 and makes a basic attack against an ally.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25, 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8. 8hp damage to Whiteclaw who needs to attack Gobi.

Finally, the proto-tiefling turns demented eyes on the group and conjures an inferno from the hellfires consuming him.

Call Inferno. v Ref. Area burst 3 within 10, centered on N7. Attacking Vel, Kia, Gobi, Whiteclaw, Pirot and Arianwyn. On hit does 5 ongoing fire damage. Effect, zone lasting 2 turns dealing 3hp fire damage to anyone starting their turn within it.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 - Vel
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 - Kia

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 - Pirot
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 - Arianwyn
1d10 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15. 15hp damage + ongoing 5 fire damage (se) to everyone but Gobi, Arianwyn and Vel. Vel takes 5 fire damage.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

Ah, I thought that was one of the sand areas. Which ones are they? Sorry. I got confused.

Female Human Wizard 11 / Master of Flame

Vel laughs as the flames merely singe her. She continues to dash around the battlefield, angling for line of sight, though that will no longer be an issue for Kyleth. She sends another bead of flame, making a somewhat smaller blast that still engulfs the tiefling and one of the decoys.

Move: Q11. Free: Orb daily -- can hit Kyleth from anywhere. Standard: Fire Burst (burst 2) at F12, attacking SC and D3 Ref.
SC 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Add one for Divine Gift if it makes a difference.
D3 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 6, 3) + 7 = 20 fire, plus an additional 5 against SC if it hits.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Attack vs Gobi. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21. On hit: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10. On a side note, I'm really confused about the Kyleth slide. Given that she was next to a defender and inside a zone that damaged her, why move her at all?? It doesn't seem to help us at all, and it gives her 5 extra hp. I'm not trying to be critical, just not understanding the logic behind the play is all.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

That's why I asked if anyone wanted her movedm and if so where. In any case, at least neither Whiteclaw nor Gobi is taking damage from her aura.

Whiteclaw again manages to place her axe just far enough away from Gobi, although the effort is clearly telling and she strikes slightly too close for comfort this time.

Vel, literally in her favourite element, unleashes hell for hell on the cleric and one of the Kyleths cluttering up the battlefield. As her earlier zone dies away, fresh gouts of flame scorch across the practice yard, leaving the cleric bloodied and lapping eagerly at D3.

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Ouch! bloodied again (15HP)

Moving to P12, she requests Gobi to take another swipe against Kyleth.

"We need to take Kyleth down, I suppose, while she has temporarily stopped spouting rubbish. Gobi..."

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 261d10 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

"Good work there..."

Saving throw for ongoing damage

1d20 ⇒ 8

"Now, if You, Gobi and you, Whiteclaw could just flank Her, I have a nice trick I can do."

"Hell is empty and all the devils are here," sneers Kyleth as Kia extricates herself from the surging flames and enables Gobi to strike hard and true.

Reason expects to be back in the loop shortly. In the meantime...

Noting with some consternation that the battle is taking place on the opposite side of the practice ground, Reason shimmys around the mannequins and barricades in time to hurl some of Ioun's grace towards the badly battered warlord.

Start of turn save: 1d20 ⇒ 14. Second Wind, move M9-L9-K9-J10-J11-K12 to set up the flank requested. Mark Kyleth, keep my zone up.

Whiteclaw loops around Kyleth as Kia directs, hoping that the mentioned trick works well.

Whiteclaw circles menacingly, penning Kyleth in and taking the opportunity to restore herself somewhat.

Seraphiel eases towards the cover of a mannequin and sends distracting light towards Kyleth. Alas, the attack distracts only the uncaring ground.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 - Sun Strike (Ref). On hit can push target one square. Miss.

Minor - slide Kyleth to L12. Move to K3. Standard - Second Wind. Concealment gained.

Arianwyn steels himself for further injury.

Arianwyn forces Kyleth into Whiteclaw's icy zone and prepares to sell his life dearly.

Gobi shuffles gratefully out of the fire and moves to try and keep the pressure on the witch.

Once more, he calls on his deity and challenges her before unleashing a strike of holy power. She suppresses a sulfurous retort as the blow strikes hard.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 - Holy Strike. On hit does 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17.

Pirot flinches as the fire bites into him, but holds his position as he moves out of the flaming zone and tries to douse the tormenting fire.
[ooc]1d20 ⇒ 15 - save v ongoing. Save.

D1 turns her lovely face to Arianwyn.

"Wouldst reject me, sweeting? Do not so."

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7. hp damage to Arianwyn and make a basic attack on Reason.

D3 looks longingly at Seraphiel.

"We are such close kindred, are we not?"

Whatever D3's views on the matter, Seraphiel's defenses are more than enough to combat the attack.

Unhinging Ray (Will). On hit, target is slid two squares and makes a basic attack on the nearest ally.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17

Kyleth shivers as the ice bites and shifts out of the zone before striking Whiteclaw with her rod, wincing as Gobi's retribution strikes and pushing her crucially off balance.

Vicious Rod - On hit target is pushed 2 squares.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

Bleeding profusely, fresh wounds opening on his ravaged body, the proto-tiefling hurls an acid filled dagger between Gobi and Whiteclaw.

Near as I can tell, Reason has taken 7hp damage, used 1 Healing Word and a bunch of At Will powers. Yes?

That's right. He's still very functional and has an AP in hand. Didn't want to run riot with him in your absence :D Welcome back.

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Takes 5og damage
Kia looks at Gobi and decides he needs healing a bit, so Inspiring word for Gobi.

"Come on Gobi, can't be much longer now, surely..."

Gobi can spend a healing surge plus an extra 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1) + 5 = 9HP.

Seeing that Kyleth has, thoughtlessly, moved out of position, Kia decides to take matters into her own hands a bit.

Walking around the zone of ice to L14 (and taking 5 more HP damage), she lashes out at the horrid woman.

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 Lead the attack against Kyleth. If that hits, all attacks against Kyleth have a +4 bonus to the end of the encounter

1d20 ⇒ 7 - still trying to pat out that damned fire, she fails once more. Kia is no longer bloodied, but only just

Male Tiefling Cleric 11

As far as Arianwyn's attack, Reason chooses to turn the other cheek.

Move to M6. Healing word on Arianwyn: Surge +2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9.

The tiefling then calls on Ioun to show Kyleth the error of her ways.

Break the Spirit vs Will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 (+4 more if Kia hit), Hit does 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (4, 1) + 5 = 10 Radiant, and Kyleth takes -3 on attack rolls til end of Reason's next turn.

EDIT: ummm.. that crit makes that 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (1, 3) + 21 = 25 Radiant. I guess that this counts as a timely return.

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Oops! forgot the damage I did! 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (8, 8, 4) + 5 = 25

EDITED: to take account of Kia and Reason both posting while I was updating the map. Welcome back indeed. Pah.

Kia rearranges the battlefield to suit her own preferences. Kyleth scowls at the warlord as cold grips her again, and snaps

"Oh, what may fey within her hide, though angel on the outward side. I am no chess piece for thy moving, fool."

Whiteclaw and Gobi take 5 damage for entering Kyleth's aura again.

Hard on Kia's attack, Reason sends a burst of divine clarity to sear Kyleth's mind with doubts. She is quite unable to withstand such an attack and her eyes go wide.

"I have immortal longings in me," she whispers under her breath.

Arianwyn runs across the practice ground, his eyes aflame and enters into melee combat with the withc.

Arianwyn plunges across the practice ground, seeming to bring the chill air of the Winter Court with him as he relentlessly pushes Kyleth out of the zone of healing sand, defying the witch with every line of his body.

Ignoring the acid eating into him, Gobi goes directly to Whiteclaw's side and calls on Avandra.

Sacrifice (Fort). Close burst 1 centered on a duplicate. On hit, targets take 2d8+6 and are dazed (se). On miss, no damage, but dazed (se).
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 - v Gobi
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 - v Whiteclaw
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 - v Arianwyn
Hits all of you. 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 7) + 6 = 20 - 20hp psychic damage each and dazed (se). Gobi is unconscious and so, I suspect, is Whiteclaw.

The cleric turns baleful eyes on Seraphiel, hurling an acid filled dagger at the deva. Vengeance guides the proto-tieflings hand and the invoker suffers his first damage of the combat.
Acid dagger. Close burst 1. On hit, target takes 7 onging acid damage. On miss 4 damage and 3 ongoing.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 . Crit. 12hp acid and 7 ongoing (se)

I'll give Vel a few hours and see if she is free to post.

Male Eladrin Warlock (Feypact) 13 - Multiclass Bard - Hexer Paragon Path

OA on D3.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Arianwyn sets his mouth grimly as his allies lie in heaps around him, and he relishes the opportunity to strike at yet another Kyleth.

Arianwyn's blow goes wide, his coordination thrown off by the abrupt decimation of his allies.

Unable to do anything to help either Whiteclaw or Gobi, Vel looks grim and concentrates on bringing down Kyleth. Force blows pummel the witch from afar.
Magic Missiles (Ref)
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31, 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 3) + 7 = 11

Yep, up and down :).

Poor Whiteclaw, Gobi did his best for her.

Heh. No worries from my end. Worst case scenario is she dies, and in that case I've got a ton more character ideas in my head, including another Warden. So, while I hope she makes it, I'm not stressing :)

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

With her two melee partners down and nothing she can do about it, Kia sees that she will have fo fall back on basics. Grimly she stows her sword, takes out her bow and fires at Kyleth.

Basic ranged attack, 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

"We must keep up the pressure on the evil nonsense-spouting woman."

Save vs ongoing 1d20 ⇒ 12

Kia finally put the flames out, but not before she is bloodied again.

Female Eladrin Warlord/10

Does anyone, by any chance, have any healing potions on them to help Whiteclaw and Gobi?

Male Tiefling Cleric 11

Potions, shmotions.

Reason moves next to Gobi and Whiteclaw, and calls on Ioun to bless the area around him. He then calls on his squandered reserves to further heal Whiteclaw.

Move to L12. Consecrated Ground, Whiteclaw & Gobi each heal 4 hp. Spend AP. Cure Serious Wounds: Whiteclaw regains hp as if she had spent 2 surges.

Male Tiefling Cleric 11

Sorry, just remembered that the Consecrated Ground works on Gobi & Whiteclaw's turns, and only if they are bloodied.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Thanks Reason. I'm up at 40, well still laying down, and bloodied by one.

Kia's arrow flies true and Kyleth flinches as it hits.
Note that you should have been rolling at +9, not +4.

"A serpent's tooth from an ungrateful child."

Reason's faith conjures a healing zone around his fallen comrades and with a little extra power, he urges Gobi and Whiteclaw back into the battle.

Female Gnoll Warden 12 (Icewrought Sentinel)

Start of turn save is vs dazed. So, I heal 4 and take 7 which leaves me at 37 and bloodied. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 18

On fail: I stand up. Saves at end of turn. Daze: 1d20 ⇒ 6. Damage: 1d20 ⇒ 15

On success: I stand up and move to I 10 and mark Kyleth, taking 5 from her aura leaving me at 32.

Whiteclaw rises up one more and grins at Kyleth. "This is why you will fall witch. No one is willing to fall for you, to aid you. We are all very different, but we work as a pack to bring you down. All of your plots are for nothing, even as they started you were already dead and didn't even know it."
