Seraphine Jakobs |
Her face reddens at the question. She doesn't seem used to talking about this, especially when 2 strange men show up immediately upon the asking. She deflects to the newcomer.
Ok then, what's with the voice, the eyes, and the light?
Morthos Thadrius |
"Hello." Morthos nods to Daniel, hoping he notices that he is not a woman.
Morthos is surprised at Narah's expressed emmbaressment, he didn't take her for the type with any sort of shame. Which she shouldn't be.
"You intend no ill and no ill will come of it. I'm not so naive as to have expectations of any kind from you, we've only just met. You do remind me of my friend though. She once said she was like the wind,we had a good laugh over that." he sounds sincere and is not hurt or even surprised, which some people may find odd in a paladin.
Morthos sticks a hand out to Daniel, "I am Morthos, Paladin of Iomedae. It is my pleasure to meet you."
CKorfmann |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The old dwarf caught Kye's attention with the offer to listen to their stories. No one had ever been interested in him personally before. Granted, he wasn't invited specifically by the dwarf, but neither was he excluded. Seeing the bard leave an empty chair at his table he approached the white haired dwarf, bowed, and greeted him in dwarven.
He smiles warmly and expectantly at the dwarf.
Glade Wolf |
hmhm, Indeed it can. I have a yearning for learning, as it were. Or, as my mentor use to put it. I hate being in a situation where I cannot understand what is being sad, or do not understand what is going on you see. Sylvan is just yet another step on that path to understanding languages. I was told I have a talent for them.
Just to make sure everyone knows, you cannot see her face clearly, the veil she wears is rather thick, but it covers any markings on her. It also causes her eyes to appear green, purely fluff ofc, so I hope the GM won't mind.
Well you must be smart to learn all those languages. Aasimars get 2 starting languages and then 4 more for 18 int, so how do you have 7 languages?, I don't see linguistics as a skill, unless I missed something. Sorry to do this, but I'm usually good at catching even the slightest of mistakes.
Maia Silndra Rose |
OH, there seems to be a lively group over there I Have spoken to two of them, That guy is interesting as is the woman, Comon Glade, Lets go. Hop on Val.
The raven flys back up to Maia's Shoulders as she stands and pats her shoulder. She walks across the room towards the growing group, not looking to see if Glade follows. She has regained a spring in her step.
She introduces herself, now full of energy.
Hiya! What's going on over here hmmm? My name is Maia, incase any of you don't know me yet! Oh! This is Val, don't worry, he is friendly!
When she shes the redheaded girl she can't help but feel a bit of kinship for some reason.
Val-
In elvish
Pleased to meet you all, please forgive Maia of her mood swing and her intrusive attitude. She can't sit still very long unless she is studying, and even then she prefers to pace around.
OHH, hush Val.
Maia Silndra Rose |
is linguists not listed as a skill? I usually always take it on most characters.. lol NM thanks! fixed it. oh, btw, if the GM is ok with it, I would like to take the alt. racial trait for aasimars Truespeaker. So I can get 2 languages each time I put a point into linguistics.
Daniel Chelas |
Daniel shakes the man's hand.
"Daniel, faithless wanderer and likewise on the meeting. It's somewhat good to see i'm not the only one with unusual eyes. Though yours must be of holier influence than mine."
Switching focus between the three he answers Sera.
"Those are effects from a cursed deal i made to escape from hell."
Seeing Narah's sudden shift in position, his face gets a disappointed look briefly.
"Would you prefer i lied in your face milady? I'm no chelaxian manipulator, i loathe those."
He continues though...
"Pardon if my last residence offends you, but i was sent there because i outright insulted Asmodeus by calling him a horned freak. That was my 'sin'. I'm happy to have regained freedom....and with nothing else, i guess i'm also in need of some purpose, having lost my previous life. But enough of hell and gloom...you wished to know a truth.""
Seraphine Jakobs |
Oh just a rousing game of truth or dare. Join us!
She smiles brightly at the similar haired woman.
Glade Wolf |

Well then, you would now be behind one language unless you fixed that, 2+4+2=8 I guess you can mark sylvan down as a language if you want to and we can roleplay Glade teaching it to you
Maia Silndra Rose |
Sure! Whos turn is it? She asks as she finds a seat.
even more excited, as she normally was never so warmly welcomed before. This brought memories back from when she was a child and was around her friends.
having a lot of fun with this character. She is coming together quite nicely I think.

I haven't taken it yet, as I want the GM to ok it first, so atm I am ok now.
Morthos Thadrius |
Morthos laughs heartily, it sounds not like the deap laughter of the barbarians but a light and celestial sound, soothing and moving. "A horned freak eh? While I find Asmodeus the most palpable of the evil deities, he is indeed as you say." he chortles a bit more to himself, that bit soundind decidedly more human than his "real laughter" he sips his tea and raises it in salute to daniel.
"Holy you say and correct you are, born of angels I am. Faithless you say, this saddens me. Perhaps if we travel together we could discuss this at length. I won't try to convert you, I simply wich to hear your theological views."
He pats Narah on the back to comfort her. "To make a deal with devils, ill advised to say the least, perhaps we can summon the fiend and I will help you destroy it." he makes a genuine offer of his paladin services.
"...what is this truth or dare you speak of?" he adds
Narah |
"Alright... let chance decide who next." She makes a little room on the table, picks up an empty bottle and starts to spin it...
1. Seraphine
2. Glade
3. Maia
4. Val
5. Morthos
6. Daniel
7. Narah
... hope I didn't miss anyone.
1d7 ⇒ 1
... and the bottle points at Seraphine.
"Well, I am afraid it's going to be you again. You dodged the question last time... but I can guess the answer." Narah grin's deviously. "It should be Daniel's turn to pop the question, but to cut a little short I'll already ask: Truth or Dare? ... Daniel can then decide what."
Morthos Thadrius |
Morthos answers Maia as the bottle spins,
Daniel Chelas |
"My lack of a faith was due to not having time, my family was trying to impose one onto me. I couldn't imagine any deity accepting a Asmodeus resenting chelaxian whose family worships the great horned freak. They are the exact type of chelaxians i loathe."
His eyes shimmer at the anger briefly in his voice.
He does start an echoing laugh.Think of a bathroom echo...
"That is mighty kind of you, but he was slain by his superiors for this. It canceled the deal, but the effects remain.
Ill advised as my action of making the deal was, what was i supposed to do when being sent down there injustly? I wanted my life back..what was left of it anyway."
Maia Silndra Rose |
OHOH, I think it means she has to pick truth or dare. If I remember correctly!
She then turns back towards Morthos
Celestial-
As said, I was told my father was a being of power, but never more. I never feel him, or met him, or anything. As for my homeland, It is something I do not wish to speak of at this time... She trails off then returns to the game a slight tinge of jealously towards the paladin.
Seraphine Jakobs |
She grins and starts belting out a song with out hesitation.
Perform: Sing (Untrained): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
She sings a song appropriate to a bar room, something about a knave and the girls that fall for him. But it is not the best of performances as she is a little tipsy.
After doing so, she reaches out and spins the bottle, grinning devilishly.
Who will be the next victim?!
1d7 ⇒ 4
It falls on the raven, Val.
So, truth? Or dare?
Maia Silndra Rose |
Maia turns to Daniel and whispers so only he should hear in infernal so hopefully only he could understand if overheard.
I to have had a rough life too, and I feel your pain, My teacher told me we go through trials to grow stronger, and rise above others, but there is only so much one can take. perhaps this is a chance for a better day?
Oh, you sing? I sing well enough I think, but Never in front of others hehe. I think that was a nice song!
Maia Silndra Rose |
I never joined this foolishness! Val stutters in elvish, He ruffles his feathers a bit.
Comon Val! you may look like a bird, but your much more!
Beh, Fine, for you. Truth. the Raven states.
He selected truth! Maia states in common.
SM: 1d20 ⇒ 3
XDDDD sooo glade I took the raven :3 fits sooooo well with maia. and don't worry, we are oblivious. lol.
Seraphine Jakobs |
Hmm...what to ask, what to ask? How about...how did you meet Maia?
Seraphina sees this as an opportunity to get to know her potential companions, rather than to embarrass or force information out of any one.
Maia Silndra Rose |
Val- Elvish
I was a gift, from her mentor when she completed her introductory training. Merricks knowledge was amazing. we were a perfect fit.
Val- Maia, would you spin it for me? Its a tad difficult for me.
Maia spins the bottle.
bottle: 1d7 ⇒ 4
wait... thats not right.
she spins it again
bottle: 1d7 ⇒ 1
hehe, ok Sephy, truth or dare.
Seraphine Jakobs |
Hey, no fair! I have gone twice now! I'm respinning
1d7 ⇒ 4
1d7 ⇒ 3
After landing on Val again, she curses under her breath and spins again, this time landing on Maia. Then she nudges it to land on Nadah, trying to pass it of as an accident.
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Hah! Truth or Dare! Val, depending how what she says, you have to give her question or request.
Ysmerelda, Dawn's Rose |
Noting no one joined him in his quiet toast, Deivon takes a small sip and sits back down, looking as Ysmerelda. "A simple toast for a man of such character." He sighs, as thoughts of his faith, and by extension his mission, come forth.
"Pentru mine, am constatat că cele mai simple sunt cele mai bune." Ysmerelda murmurs just under the growing din. "Prea mult înflori & jocuri de cuvinte și de timp ați terminat, nu vă puteți aminti de ce ai început..." She adds, concluding. "He was never much for 'great ceremony', least-ways not when I had the pleasure of his company." Shrugging, she smiles commiseratingly. "I thought it was nice."
"Too much flourish & wordplay and by the time you've finished, you can't remember why you began..."
Narah |
"After I left the temple in Katapesh and travelled around the world I eventually ended up in the place I had sworn myself never to go to to: Kyonin. That had been suggested to me in order to complete my training as a priestess of Calistria from elves instead of humans. Calistria is originally an elven goddess, as you probably know... but the perspective of elves on her, though it still is the same goddess, differs from that of men. When I reached the first trees of the forests of Kyonin, the one teacher I truly learned from waited for me there. Sivala Shadowkiss. She didn't just teach me elven, but also sylvan and many other things... such as the highly complex and differentiated art the elves made of kissing, in which she's the undisputed master in Kyonin. Hence the name."
She seems to be full of memories she's particularly fond of as she speaks. One can almost feel the wind rushing through the trees and her hair sways accoringly.
Narah spins the bottle...
1d7 ⇒ 4
"hmmmm.... Sorry, truth or dare, Val?"
nightdeath |
- There is not much to tell, really. I was just walking down the road and saw carriage attacked by hobgoblins. As true gorumite i used my outstanding strategic thinking - elf pointed at his head - and charged the bastards while they were distracted. Then i hit him like that, and other guy tried to stab me but i dodged, just like that - Melchior started flailing his arms around imitating some sloppy combat scene, almost knocking over some mugs and ended up toppling one of the chairs - Good thing Gorum gave me power to heal wounds or you would have to attend this ceremony few years earlier
Ignoring the arm wrestiling in favor of the the tale, Hotrek has to dodge a few swings in order to make sure his writing doesn't get interrupted. Once done he nods to his newest contribution to his growing book and he ginishes it with his normal flowing script.
-Gorumite, Hobgoblins and the Professor, The importance of curing wounds as penned by Hotrek-
Maia Silndra Rose |
why does it like Val so much.
WHAAA, No way. Desna Really likes you Val! I think someone else should get a turn though.
she puts her index finger on her chin.
Ah, I will just spin it again for you Narah.
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 3
Wha! oh, well then....
She ponders a bit..
Dare me! whats life without knowledge and excitement!
nightdeath |
The old dwarf caught Kye's attention with the offer to listen to their stories. No one had ever been interested in him personally before. He smiles warmly and expectantly at the dwarf.
Hotrek raises an eyebrow at the rather unusual greeting and he gauffaws.
"I'm not sure where your learnt your dwarven or whether you intend to give insult but it's indeed funny. I'm well rounded and short a fact I'm reminded off constantly back home but please pray tell your story and I'll pen it down for future generations to read."
He gestures for this man to speak.
Narah |
"Wish you had chosen truth... alright. I want you to hold the hand of one the men at this table until the next has been chosen and either the task formulated or the question asked. I would kindly ask the men who would be willing to offer their hands."
She sighs a bit and runs her fingers across her forehead. "If you would excuse me... I need to get some fresh air for a while."
Going to go to bed. See you guys!
Maia Silndra Rose |
WHa? Oh, well thats simple enough!
She looks towards daniel.
Well aren't you just the lucky guy tonight hmm?
She takes daniel's hand
heavens, you haven't even bought me dinner yet.
she says playfully.
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 4
OK, this is getting ridiculous.
no no no, bad bottle.
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 7
well, shes gone.. guess third times the charm!
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 3
*facepalm*
heh, heh, heh..... one more... comon Desna, give me a break!
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 7
She scrunchs her face, not that you can particularly tell,
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 4
spin: 1d7 ⇒ 5
HA! finally. Ok, truth or dare Morthos.
she was standing now, leaning over the table with her hands on the table edge and pretending that nothing strange had happened at all.
Brother Kye |
Kye flushes and tries to maintain his smile as he takes his seat. What in the world could I have said? Begging your pardon, please! I missed a day or two of Dwarvish lessons. That and I'm somewhat of an idiot. I will constrain myself to the common tongue. Please forgive me. He appreciated the dwarfs laughter in lieu of what it might have been instead.
My tale is a humble one, but speaks very well of the good professor.
Borden Read |
Only a silly bastard or a girl would sit at that table, Borden thinks, disregarding the men sitting there or rather moving them from one category to another. Playin' truth or dare with those women? Thats jus' askin' fer trouble
