Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Guess we are adding a spell 2 to the pile.

I guess I’ll roll for the blessing B (swaping out botGobs for abadar)
1d1000 ⇒ 588
And the armor 1 (gambesson for lockpick buckler, but keep it swapped for sweet dragon costume)
1d1000 ⇒ 683

(I feel like there's layers of miscommunication going on here...)

Well, we should let everyone decide their preferences and roll for the AD2. As I mentioned, my preference is indeed for a Spell 2, but my spell 2 roll was quite low and I don't know what Ak and Reepazo's ultimate priorities are.

Eh, probably. Recieved a lot of bad news recently so I'm not in the best mindspace.

For my power feats:
For Red Raven, I think I'll take the feat that lets me examine a card at the end of my turn.

For Aric, the feat that lets me recharge allies that have diplomacy to acquire when I discard them for their power.

Box Runner

Sorry guys, had a very busy weekend and couldn't post clarification sooner. The reward is written in a confusing way, but hope this simplifies things.

Only scribbleface draws. when you draw "from the box", you draw it directly from your class box. This means only he gets the deck 2 upgrade.

I believe he then gets 1 more deck upgrades and everyone else gets 2 deck upgrades from the acquired cards which list is here:
Shield of Fire Resistance (Armor 1)
Arrow Catching Studded Leather (Armor 2)
Blessing of Desna (Blessing B)
Wand of Shield (Item 1)
Dagger +1 (Weapon 1)

I apologize I failed to communicate the conditional reward in advance for all of you to fight over the shiny eye thing sooner. I don't have a way to make this right and I agree, it's a bit odd reward that only one person gets it. The whole adventure path was intended to be done at a physical convention and be a bit silly. This is the only reward that was done this way, the rest of them everyone gets to share in the awesomeness so I hope each of you will forgive me and we're able to continue on.

With that in mind from reading the above posts, Can we figure out who wants what from the above deck upgrades and roll if necessary? Scribbleface also need you to let me know which AD2 boon you take.

2B-2B tentative
Poog/Yewstance ??,?? deck upgrade(s), power feat earned (tier)
Aric/VampByDay ??,?? deck upgrade(s), power feat earned (tier)
Reepazo/Redeli ??,?? deck upgrade(s), power feat earned (tier)
Ak/dinketry ??,?? deck upgrade(s), power feat earned (tier)

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Bleah. Basically a non-scenario for most of us, then; no meaningful reward.

I'll take the Weapon 1 and the Armor 1 if nobody else claims either. They're both usually just going to be replaced for loot anyway.

Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

No upgrade for Ak. And yes - two gobbo thumbs down for that stupid scenario.

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Also, quick question; how many scenarios is this adventure? I need to know how long I have to prepare the end-of-Adventure 'event' I was planning.

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

I'll take a blessing 2 to replace my BlessingOTGobs with Zon Kuthon

I'm also going to replace my Spider with the Poog Ally card.

Again, power feats are:
Red Raven: Can examine location at end of turn.
Aric: When I discard an ally for its power that has diplomacy as its check to acquire, I recharge it instead.

Box Runner
Poog, Bestest of Zarongel! wrote:

two scenarios left. Each goblin adventure is 4 scenarios long.

Reepazo would like an armor B, which could use either of the higher level armors. (armor of the sands, so can be used in bug mode)

As a power, she will take the hand size increase.

Box Runner

2B-2B summary

Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

Ak will take the Goblin Buckler Gun and Sweet Dragon Costume loot from previous scenarios as temporary cards to his deck again this game.

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Just confirming a ruling. This is how I always played it with Ekkie (and it greatly affects her character by defining the specific timing interaction), but I'd like to check with the BR that Blessing of the Gobs works as follows (which is my understanding).

Relevant Mummy's Mask Rulebook paragraph wrote:
When you play cards by performing any other actions, set them aside while you process their effects. For example, a spell might tell you to discard it, then allow you to succeed at a check to recharge it instead; set it aside until you resolve the check that determines whether or not you recharge it. Do what each card requires in the order you set them aside. While set aside, a card does not count as being in your hand, your discard pile, your deck, or anywhere else.

1. Discard it to explore or add to a check. Since it has an additional power after you play it, it's set aside as you process its effects.

2. Resolve the effects (finish the check, finish the exploration, etc).
3. Choose whether to discard the top card of the blessings deck, and ultimately finally move Blessing of the Gobs to the discard or the buried pile, depending on your decisions.

For goblin characters where it matters, you're either discarding it or burying it, never both, and always during step 3, correct?

Box Runner

I think that's how I'd play it, though I've only ever really used that ability when blessing a check so hadn't considered that timing before.

Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

It's Reepazo's turn, right?

Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

I'll await the retcon before posting.

Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

Ak would like the Ally 2.

Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 345
Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 615

I'd be interested in Squealy Nord, but I'm open to discussion.

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

The Cohort appeals to me too. Squealy Nord is a pure, generous upside to anyone, but here's my analysis if anyone wants to hear it.

Question for the BR: Reepazo's bugform power states "you may play only boons that have the Goblin, Melee, Poison, or Vermin (☐ or Divine) trait". Does that mean you cannot play non-boons whilst in Bugform, or that those trait restrictions only apply to boons? I'm having a hard time parsing that. (Note, to be clear, that Cohorts are not Boons, but you absolutely can 'play' them by using a power listed on them.)

A strict reading suggests to me that she cannot play non-boons, but I'm not sure that's the intent. Taking the excerpt "you may play only boons [that fit a condition]" seems to be pretty clear-cut that you cannot play non-boons. I suppose that means she couldn't use Ship abilities in S&S whilst bugformed?

  • Reepazo: Assuming Reepazo can use the Cohort's power, she has less cards to recharge for its main power, less still if she has to activate bugform, and she can naturally buff her checks in bugform anyway.
  • Ak: Ak can recharge cards to buff his checks anyway, but it does further support his role of jack-of-all-trades, and he's had particularly bad luck with closing locations on dice rolls this adventure.
  • Scribbleface: Potentially one of our most exploration-heavy players, particularly with the ability to recharge allies to explore now. It also further expands his flexibility, and being able to move at the end-of-turn is strong on account of being able to then examine his new location with Scribbleface's power. In particular, this prevents him from being 'stuck' as Scribbleface if he closes a location and thus has nothing to examine during his turn.
  • Poog: Poog appreciates the ability to move at the end-of-turn since it allows him to move to where he can continue to hand off his blessings. Poog also likes to explore a moderate amount and needs help against barriers some of the time. He also objectively runs his deck closest to death most of the team, so being able to recharge cards for buffs gives him more security. On the other hand, he already has Fire Snake which should make him virtually auto-pass any noncombat check at this stage of the adventure, so Squealy Nord is a little redundant.

    My vote goes for Scribbleface getting Squealy Nord, personally, but we could always roll for it.

    (EDIT: Er, actually, most of my assessments are thrown off by the fact that the only remaining scenario is a one-location scenario. I'm not sure why they put a movement power on a Cohort when, for the most part, we only get to use it in a single-location-scenario. That seems really really weird, and that's not the first time I've questioned the design of this adventure...)

    ==================================

    Scenario 2B-2C Rewards: POOG

    Dogfinder was banished during the scenario. Poog has an empty item slot.

    For Poog's Deck Upgrades, my preferences are as follows:

  • Spell 2: Replace Cure for Cauterize (Goblins Burn) Spell 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 478

    Poog will replace his empty item slot with Dogfinder again, as usual.

  • Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

    The only really upgrade for me in that list of cards is the Ally 2
    ally 2 roll: 1d1000 ⇒ 772
    Replace Masque with Mindblade (something for Aric to fight with.)

    Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

    I'll pass on that Item 2, in retrospect. No upgrade for Ak.

    Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

    New baby was born 3 days ago. Mum and new peanut are both doing well. Sleep is coming sparingly; I do appreciate all y'alls patience. I'll get to posts, but I'll simply be slower about it.

    Thanks!

    Box Runner

    I believe the intent is "the only boons you may play are those that have the Goblin, Melee, Poison, or Vermin (☐ or Divine) trait". but that doesn't fit their normal templating structure which is why it doesn't parse out well.

    I'd be okay with reepazo using a cohort at this table

    Spell2 upgrade for Reepazo.

    Box Runner

    2b-2c summary:

    Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

    Just waiting for starting hands to be drawn before I take my turn.

    No rush, however, especially for Dinketry! :D

    By the way, over the week I managed to pretty much finalize my end-of-adventure surprise for the party. A special super-mini-scenario (it's literally just one encounter per player, but the encounter is a little tricky) of my design that can join in if you wish. I'll also give everyone in the party a Player Boon whether they're interested in participating or not.

    Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

    I'm fine to not take Squealy Nord in lieu of someone else. No worries.

    Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

    Ak's draws:

    Random AD1 or AD2 Blessing: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Blessing of Venklevore (the AD2 variant)
    Random AD1 or AD2 Ally: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Mighty Gugmuff XXXII (AD2)

    I'll wait to make my preferences for boons and card feats known until I see what all is available. I'm very excited to add Lamashtu's Bauble to the deck box of my Varian character who's venturing on the high seas with two other goblins in his party - it's going to be a hoot!

    Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

    Random AD 1 or 2 Blessing
    1=Bastet
    2=Maat
    1d2 ⇒ 1
    Random AD 1 or 2 Ally
    1=Dandy Brute
    2=Social Climber
    3=Slip
    4=Sorrowsoul
    1d4 ⇒ 1

    Replace Blessing of Hadregesh with Bastet, Spider with Dandy Brute.

    Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

    I presume we need to draw from both our Add-On Deck and Class Deck's combined for the reward?

    Anyway, I also have a bonus homemade 'scenario' for the team, for whomever's interested. It's a bit strange, but technically very short (one exploration for each player, though it's more technical than a normal encounter). More meant to be a flavorful send-off for my character than anything else. I'm happy to give out some Player Boons in the process, too. :)

    Once everyone's sorted out their rewards, I'll post it if anyone's interested in at least seeing it.

    ======================

    Scenario 2B-2D Rewards: POOG

    Dogfinder was banished during the scenario. Poog has an empty item slot.

    Scenario Reward, Random Blessing:
    1. Blessing of Bark Breaker
    1. Blessing of Hadregash
    1. Blessing of Achaekek
    2. Blessing of the Boss
    3. Blessing of Sivanah
    4. Blessing of Thoth.
    5. Blessing of the Master of Masters
    6. Blessing of Nethys

    Random Blessing 1/2 from Goblins Burn/Ultimate Magic: 1d6 ⇒ 2 -> Blessing of the Boss

    Scenario Reward, Random Ally:
    1. Giant Slug
    2. Toad
    3. Mighty Gugmuff XXXII
    4. Monkey
    5. Riftwarden
    6. Staffbearer
    7. Bound Lantern Archon
    8. Cleric of Nethys
    9. Bound Elemental

    Random Ally 1/2 from Goblins Burn/Ultimate Magic: 1d9 ⇒ 5 -> Riftwarden; pass. I won't include it in my deck.

    Poog draws Blessing of the Boss and Riftwarden.

  • Poog replaces Blessing of Lamashtu for Blessing of the Boss (Goblins Burn!)
  • Poog won't keep Riftwarden.

    For Poog's Card Feat from Tier Progression, he'll check off...
    Spell 3 [X] 4 [X] 5

    Poog will Tier-Up to Tier 3.
    Poog earns a die bump from completing an adventure (now 2).

    For Poog's Card Upgrades, my preferences are as follows:

  • Spell 2: Replace Empty Spell Slot for Heat Metal (Goblins Burn) Spell 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 848
  • Ally 2: Replace Magical Child for Bound Lantern Archon (Ultimate Magic) Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 213

    Poog will fill his empty item slot with Dogfinder. If he still has an empty spell slot, he'll fill it with Immolate.

  • Box Runner

    Yes, your class deck is composed of cards from both a standard deck and/or an Ultimate deck. The cards are added to your class deck when you tier up and at that point they are one and the same (as opposed to Ultimate Magic / Goblin Burn). In practice many people keep these decks separated, but for your class deck purposes you have to draw from both.

    Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

    I think Scribbleface/Not-Scribbleface may need to reroll their Ally/Blessing draw then.

    Ak Deck Handler Spreadsheet

    Ak will take a card feat and add an Ally. He'll use Gugmuff XXXII for that upgrade. He'll take the Blessing of Venkelvore as an upgrade to replace one of his Blessing of the Gobs (4).

    If no one else cares about them, he'll take his 2 upgrades in the form of the two armors: he will upgrade his armors to an Armor 1 (Magic Studded Leather) and Armor 2 (Shark Skin Armor). They are moot as Ak will swap them out for the Dragon Costume and the Goblin Gun-Shield thing as soon as the scenario starts.

    Armor 2: 1d1 ⇒ 1 (only if no one wants it)
    Armor 1: 1d1 ⇒ 1 (only if no one wants it)

    Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

    Try this again
    1=Bastet
    2=Maat
    3=Bark Breaker
    4=Venkelvore
    5=Lady Lastbreath
    6=Vebjekvire
    1d6 ⇒ 2
    Random AD 1 or 2 Ally
    1=Dandy Brute
    2=Social Climber
    3=Slip
    4=Sorrowsoul
    5=Wolverine
    6=Xoff
    7=Mighty Gugmuff XXXII
    8=Rotgut
    1d8 ⇒ 5

    Replace Blessing of Hadregesh with Maat, Spider with Wolverine.

    Card Upgrade->Item (I'll put in the loot Thingiemabob of Lamashtu)
    Roll for Armor 1 1d1000 ⇒ 70
    If successful replace Gambeson with Lockpick Shield
    I'll also roll for Ally 2 1d1000 ⇒ 919
    If successful, I'll replace the clockwork spy with the Sorrowsoul.
    If that doesn't work out, I'll go for the Ally b
    1d1000 ⇒ 490 and replace the Clockwork Spy with Fencer[/dice]

    Box Runner

    2b-2D summary:
    1 - Poog/Yewstance - card feat earned (tier), Spell 2
    2 - Aric/VampByDay -card feat earned (tier), Armor 1, Ally 2,
    3 - Reepazo/Redelia -card feat earned (tier), n/a deck upgrade
    4 - Ak/dinketry - card feat earned (tier). Armor 2 upgrade

    (first round of upgrades everyone got their first choice, second round of upgrades there wasn't the armor1 left for Ak, and Scribbleface/Yewstance rolled off for the ally2).

    I thoroughly enjoyed this group, as well as our extra-special send-off mini-scenario. HUZZAH! Goblins 4 EVA! Wait, not Eva. Evva? YEAH! Goblins for Evva and Eva!

    An all goblin group is definitely a different group dynamic than being a goblin in a group of more normal adventurers...

    I'm so sorry to hear that, and I echo VampByDay's request to pass on our best wishes, if possible. We've just finished the Season as-is, so there's no need to stress about it's status anyway.

    I'll send her the player boon I had set aside, and probably get around to writing closing flavor for my character tomorrow, most likely.

    And indeed, thank you to Redeux for running this season all the way! Let me know if you want an Unconventional Firepower boon too!

    I hope Redelia feels better soon!

    Woodenman is one of the venture agents for the online region and works with redelia on the rpg side since she's venture lieutenant.

    But sounds good, I'll go ahead and mark this campaign as complete in a few days. Reepazo's challenge can still be there if she wants to tackle it when she's feeling better.

    Really appreciate all of you playing, had some good times and enjoyed the flavor everyone added! I'm also glad we were able to combine tables part way through which is a pretty neat part of hosting all this online. Now I suppose all of you can "retire" your characters or you could try to find a tier3 group to play them with. Just be warned you wouldn't qualify for an adventure path reward since you would be missing the first two adventure decks. I'm needing to downscale some of my games but look forward to when we might be at the same tables again in the future!

    @yewstance and appreciate the offer of the Unconventional firepower, but I have several copies myself from GenCon and our online events so no need here :)
