Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

very true I suppose, also.....I think that was the first time I've hit with both my attacks.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Just out of curiosity, did anyone put Leemoogoogoon = Demogorgon together in their heads beforehand?

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

I mean I thought it sounded familar......but I was really hoping it was just in my head.....

AvernusArt 2Grid

Last one was DC 10, this one is a bit stronger. Actually surprised the DC isn't higher since like...its Demogorgon. But yeah sorry Kriv, definitely got the least fun of the madness effects there. Vic is also at risk for something nasty since he also already has a madness level of 1.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Also Gael now would be a good time to slip back into the world with a madness check. Things should switch back to narrative from combat at this point or soon.....should.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Hay it happens, Sometimes the dice like you, sometimes they do not!
Ether way still enjoying it.

Guess people can just treat what I said as what I said as what I said before passing out.

Male Wood Elf Rogue 4 (Swashbuckler); AC: 16, Unarmored: 14; HP: 21/29; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +4; Perc: +4 (Passive 14), HD 4

Uh oh...

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Welcome to madness bench Victor, glad for the company :P

Also I've just realized, we both both have failed at the same time and I have gotten the same result twice over......lets see if you do the same.....just you know...please don't hit me when I am unconscious again XD

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

I just had a realization of the cruel yet hileriouse irony......Kriv is finally having his good rest. XD

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

I think through out this whole campaign, all my buffs have at most turned 2 or 3 failures into success. Lathander is apparently not about the buffs.

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

“Froog, the legend you recall is in regards to its tentacles (+17, 4d12+9) said to suck the life force of a man whole on contact.”

We’re level 2, we got this! Chaaaaarge!

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

Right?! I'm sure sacred flame might work.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Yeah, tempted to put the full stat in a slide so you can check it out.

Just getting caught up, internet back up just now after coming home to dead line...

AvernusArt 2Grid

Fun fact, had Kriv rolled the same number with madness level 2 the following would have resulted:

Quote:
“I’ve discovered that I really like killing people.”

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

That would of been interesting :P

AvernusArt 2Grid

Gael, not sure you have a reference for the packs I mentioned:

Scholar's Pack, 40 gp, 10 lbs:

Includes a backpack, a book of lore, a bottle of ink, an ink pen, 10 sheets of parchment, a little bag of sand, and a small knife.

Dungeoneer's Pack, 12 gp, 61.5 lbs:

Includes a backpack, a crowbar, a hammer, 10 pitons, 10 torches, a tinderbox, 10 days of rations, and a waterskin. The pack also has 50 feet of hempen rope strapped to the side of it.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Also, we've just completed chapter 3 of 7 and therefore

Everyone level up to 3rd. :D

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

I was about to say something about that... lesser restoration you say. Sounds like lvl 3 to me!

hp: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
+1 Rage

And if allowed...

Path of the Zealot (Xanathar's Guide to Everything)

Some deities inspire their followers to pitch themselves into a ferocious battle fury. These barbarians are zealots — warriors who channel their rage into powerful displays of divine power. Clangeddin!

Divine Fury

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can channel divine fury into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d6 + half your barbarian level. The extra damage is necrotic or radiant you choose the type of damage when you gain this feature.

Warrior of the Gods

At 3rd level, your soul is marked for endless battle. If a spell, such as raise dead, has the sole effect of restoring you to life (but not undeath), the caster doesn’t need material components to cast the spell on you.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

So any opions on what archetype I should take people?

Wood Elven explorer | Active buffs: | HP: 0/51 | d8 8/8 | Ki 5/8 | Insp 0
Stats:
50 ft | AC 19 | Str +2 Dex +8 Con +1 Int +0 Wis +4 Cha -1 | Initiative +5 | Perception +7, Darkvision | Insight +4

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

AvernusArt 2Grid

Khaz, coolness, didn't see that coming.

Kriv, this should end at level 7 so keep that in mind when picking archs. Battlemaster maybe gives you the most bang for the buck 3rd level ability. Champion could also be cool with your 2 weapon fighting.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

true and true, both seem to be pretty nifty in their own rights, you know what I will let you decide for me infinity, pick what you think suit kriv the best.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

In short wants to play both and as such can't decide.

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

Thank you!

Also I realize that I used a d10 for leveling up...

1d12 ⇒ 12

...and man, this has been a good level.

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

All I get at lvl 3 is 2nd lvl spells... woe is me. haha

AvernusArt 2Grid

Champion just increases crit rate (at the levels we'll be playing anyways).

Battlemaster you get to pick 3 maneuvers (not similar to pathfinder) which are powered by superiority dice.

So, do you want to crit more often, or have 3 more options in combat?

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Lets go fancy go battle master for all the cool tricks.

I am thinking Riposte, Manuverinvg attack andether sweeping attack or goading attack.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

For HP

HP: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Not to shabby.

Male Wood Elf Rogue 4 (Swashbuckler); AC: 16, Unarmored: 14; HP: 21/29; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +4; Perc: +4 (Passive 14), HD 4

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

My HP suck! That is two 1's the last two levels!

No surprises here...going Swashbuckler from Xanathar's Guide.

AvernusArt 2Grid

Vic, I don't mind if you reroll it. 2 1s sucks

Male Wood Elf Rogue 4 (Swashbuckler); AC: 16, Unarmored: 14; HP: 21/29; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +4; Perc: +4 (Passive 14), HD 4

Thanks!

HP Reroll: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Whew...much better...

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Anyone wanna throw their opion on what I should take for the 3rd maneuver, have singled it down to.

Sweeping Attack. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to damage another creature with the same attack. Choose another creature within 5 feet of the original target and within your reach. If the original attack roll would hit the second creature, it takes damage equal to the number you roll on your superiority die. The damage is of the same type dealt by the original attack.

or

Goading Attack. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to goad the target into attacking you. You add the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target has disadvantage on all attack rolls against targets other than you until the end of your next turn.

also not taking maneuvering attack and instead taking menacing.

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

So, looking at it...

Sweeping Attack
* Sounds alot like cleave
* If you hit an enemy, and there is another enemy within 5ft of that enemy, you can do 1d8 damage to the second enemy.

That's not bad. It's not game breaking to do an extra d8 damage, and it works thematically with your two weapon fighting style.

Goading Attack
* You do +1d8 damage to an enemy of your choice
* If the enemy fails a will save, it has disadvantage against anyone except you.

That sounds better. Doing more damage to 1 enemy means it is more likely to have a dead enemy. A dead enemy does no damage. An injured enemy does full damage. Plus it lets you pull enemies off squishy back-line allies.

However...you have AC15 and HP37. That's ok tanky, but you might not want to be the pure target during boss fights. So long as you are alright being the target of enemy attacks, I'd go for goading attack.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Uhhhhh I have HP28 :P

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

Oh...dang. Suddenly Khaz's 43HP seems crazy. I guess I should use reckless attack more often then...

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Hehe yeah, you have rolled what is it 11 and 12?

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

If we get somewhere that I can pick up a pair of platinum rings worth at least 50 gp each I can cast warding bond on you to give you +1 ac and resistance to all damage. The tricky part is that any damage you take, I take as well. That would double your HP and then some with your second wind ability.

CAMPAIGN COMPLETE HP (55/62) Rage (2/3) AC (18) Insight, Intimidate (+1) Perception, Survival (+2) Stonecunning (+3)Tools (Smith) Barbarian (4)

@Kriv: Yeah, I've been really lucky. I hope it keeps up for the next 4 levels! At lvl4 Khaz is getting Con18. If he can keep rolling an average of 10 for the next 4 levels, he'll end up with 102HP. Add in rage resistance...and...I've just jinxed myself.

@Frogg: Wow. Now that's teamwork right there. +1 AC and resistance to all damage? That's crazy good. Especially as you both have similar HP totals, you can hang in the back, and he can pull enemies off of you.

How does that ability work and where is it from? I would like to keep it in mind for future games.

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

lvl 2 cleric only spell. It lasts for up to an hour and ends if it is cast on or by either target of the spell or if I go unconscious. The targets must remain within 60 ft of one another.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

Sure that sounds amazing.
With that I will get goad attack, I'll even get the rings when it comes to it :P

HP:22/33 AC:14 perc: +2, Init: +2 SAVES: Str 0, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +1, Wis +5, Cha +2

That and I figure Froog, Cade, and Kriv have been bonding due to Froog providing light and Kriv not being able to see in the dark.

It's a strong spell but I'm guessing the 100 gp cost at lvl 2 is a bit of a mitigating factor.

Male DragonBorn (Blue) Fighter Lv4 - HP 10/33 - AC 16 Action Surge 0/1 LB 1/1 SD 3/4

true, but hay I still have a ton of gold so the rings are easy as long as we find somewere to get em.

Edlethron went Way of the Open Hand and is updated.

I thought about Shadows, but I'm lukewarm about the spells at 3rd level.

AvernusArt 2Grid

A bit swamped with work at the moment, usually not a problem but I need to write up a bunch of NPC stuff. I will try in the morning, sorry.

Male Half-elf Warlock 4 (Outlander) AC: 14; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Wisdom and Charisma; Init: +2; Perc: +2 (Passive 12)

Warlock level 3

+7 hit points (5 class +2 CON);

+1 spell known (Shatter: 60', 10' radius, 3d8 thunder damage, con save for 1/2, inorganic beings have disadvantage); and

Pact Boon - Pact of the Tome (learn and use three cantrips as if from warlock list: Guidance (roll 1d4 to ability check), Fire Bolt (120', ranged spell attack, 1d10 fire damage, unattended flammable objects ignite), and Shocking Grasp (melee spell attack, advantage to hit if target is wearing metal armor, 1d8 lightning damage and can't take reactions until start of next turn)

Male Wood Elf Rogue 4 (Swashbuckler); AC: 16, Unarmored: 14; HP: 21/29; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +4; Perc: +4 (Passive 14), HD 4

Two new abilities picked up as a Swashbuckler...true skirmisher.

Fancy Footwork When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn how to land a strike and then slip away without reprisal. During your turn, if you make a melee attack against a creature, that creature can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.

Rakish Audacity Starting at 3rd level, your unmistakable confidence propels you into battle. You can add your Charisma modifier to your initiative rolls. In addition, you don't need advantage on your attack roll to use your Sneak Attack if no creature other than your target is within 5 feet of you. All the other rules for the Sneak Attack class feature still apply to you.

Wood Elven explorer | Active buffs: | HP: 0/51 | d8 8/8 | Ki 5/8 | Insp 0
Stats:
50 ft | AC 19 | Str +2 Dex +8 Con +1 Int +0 Wis +4 Cha -1 | Initiative +5 | Perception +7, Darkvision | Insight +4

Saturday morning I leave for a week on business with only phone access to this account. So bot me if necessary.

cheers

AvernusArt 2Grid

Vic, I never noticed that Fancy Footwork didn't require a hit, just an attack...that's pretty neat ability.

Ed, thanks for heads up.
