Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Creature 1 Gnaws at Bayard again swinging its claws wildly!
claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Creture 2 continues its onslaught against Orsik, dodging his clumsy blows! But the Dwarf wields a shield better than a hammer it seems!
claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I look at Bayard in his sad state and decide that it is time to test the limits of the power Tyr has bestowed upon me. These beings must die so I can administer aid to the elf!

Reaching deep within myself, I open up the flow of power and manifest it in three ways at once! I maintain the blessing flow to myself and my allies, and conjure a spiritual weapon, a glowing warhammer, behind the monster attacking me (creature 2) and the weapon attacks the monster of its own volition!:
spiritual weapon melee attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 + (3) = 11

While that weapon is attacking with the same clumsy, inaccurate, mind boggling, annoyingly frustrating, rage inducing accuracy of my normal warhammer, I continue the remaining flow of power, using a deeper amount of power than I have before for this spell, out in a more focused, hurtful form towards the same creature:
Inflict wounds: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1d4 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 + (2) = 19

The flow of power streams into the creature as my Diety punishes this creature for its malicious intent towards his servant.
2nd lvl spell slot Inflict Wounds damage: 4d10 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 5) = 14

Why the mother f%*! are all of my rolls BELOW the average for that dice?!? On a span of 4-40 damage I blow both of my lvl 2 spells for a whopping 14 damage!!! Srsly, I'm about to only play if/when we do roll20...

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

Being in relative safety, I hurl more eldrich energy towards the Hex'd creature.

Eldrich Blast: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (10) + 5 + (3) = 18

Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 3 + (1) = 13

Eldrich energy collides with the beast, pushing the creature back from the impact.

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

I cannot take another blow from this creature, it is winning this exchange. I need to get away from it and fast, I hope this forest can come to my aid.

I use my Bonus Action to Cast Entangling Roots on my next strike

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + (2) = 13

im just gonna roll

Dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Hunter Mark Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Colossus Slayer Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Seeing my Roots are taking hold, I disengage the beast and retreat as far as I can (my speed is 35 feet)

Current HP 12/36

I continue my barrage on Creature 2

Eldrich Blast: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (13) + 5 + (3) = 21

Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 3 + (2) = 15

Eldrich energy collides into the beast and erupts sending the beast staggering.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

Seeing my allies attacks landing remind me that I should leave the damage to the damage dealers and focus on what I was blessed to do...

Turning to Bayard, I increase the flow of power that already exists from my Bless to accommodate a greater beneficial effect.
Cure wounds: 1d8 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 3 = 13 HPs returned!

While the flow of power heads towards Bayard, I give a thought to my spirit warhammer and instruct it to fly to the monster devastating Bayard, and attack

Spirit weapon attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (17) + 3 + (4) = 24

A hit! Maybe Tyr smiles upon me when I focus my thoughts on healing first!

Warhammer damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 to Creature 1

I only get a roll or two before the RNG's hit me with 1's again lol

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

I feel some of my wounds start to partially heal themselves thanks to the blessings of our Dwarf friend. With the Creature (1) firmly rooted in place and myself at a safer distance I can see the tides of this battle turning. I let loose my Javelin at my prey

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (3) = 11

The rolls are still not with me, but at least im not dying

But it seems I have not fully recovered from the creatures attacks

Current HP 25/36

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Creature 1 struggles against it's bonds trying to break free
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
But its bonds hold true and rooted to the ground and the vines cotinue to rake against its flesh!

Creature 2 charges at Aren slashing wildly in it's death throws!
claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Stats of Creatures
AC: 13
Creature 1 HP: 17/44 engaged with Bayard
Creature 2 HP: 3/44 engaged with Orsik, being blasted by Aren

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

After being gouged by the creature's claws I bring down my greatsword in a final blow to finally fell the beast. (Creature 2)

Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Damage: 2d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 + (3) = 7

The blade carves into the beast's flesh, its life is likely over...now for the other!

I'm at 11 HP

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I contemplate joing my spirit Warhammer in melee range of the rooted creature, but look at Bayard's state and think better. My armor and shield skills are decent, but why risk it? I decide instead to stay back and join my comrades in long range attacks.

I reach within, maintaining my connection to my allies (Bless), and once again bring forth the angry, righteous power that I know will burn away my enemy! A bright streak of light flies out of Tyr's symbol on my shield towards Creature 1.

Guiding Bolt: 1d20 + 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (13) + (2) + 5 = 20

It strikes the monster square in its insectoid body, covering its body in a mystical light that grants the next attack roll against it advantage before the end of my next turn!

Radiant dmg: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 4) = 12

As almost an afterthought, I command my spirit warhammer to attack:

Sp. Warhammer: 1d20 + 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (7) + (3) + 5 = 15
A hit!
Sp. Warhammer dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

A solid blow!

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

"Well fought Men!"

I begin to collect myself and tend to my wounds. This beasts skull will stay with him, the killing blow was not my own.

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Both of the dead Ettercaps twitch and click at the parties feet! The things smell terrible too..

The forest is silent and still as death..it still feels like they're being watched almost. The area seems clear of the things and no present danger in sight. After looking around a path becomes clear and obvious as to the way out..how they got so turned around they'll never know.

Also...the party....levels...UP!!

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

"now that's over i assume the plan stays the same? Find a safer place to rest until nightfall and track the Cultists then. I can take first watch until night"

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

We definitely need 't find a safer place to rest. These woods be giving me bad feelings... Did anyone else notice a cave or something that one the beasts climbed out of?

Nature or perception check? If there's anything at all lol

one did seem to climb out from under a log, you can check it out...IF YOU DARE!

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I look around to ensure that my allies are stable, and say;
Boys, before we head out'a these cursed woods, I'm going to take a look at the hidin' spot one of these things I glance/gesture at the closest dead Ettercap was usin'... Might be a bit o' treasure stashed away from 'em.

I go look at the log/cave/hole that the ettercap climbed out of.

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

Concerned for his safety, I stand ready to offer Orsik any help, should the contents under the log prove sinister...

Orsik peers inside, his Dwarven eyes adjusting to the dim light. He sees a bit of waste in the creatures den, the smell is even worse than the corpse of it. Before he abandons any hope of going on he notices the corpse of something sitting down and propped up against the wall...long dead but too hard to tell what it is or what's on it..

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I ease into the den to get a closer look at the corpse...

If needed:
perception: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
But I'll take my time searching the corpse...

Orsik can plainly see the body has been here for many moons...most of it has rotted away. He swats away the stench burning his nostrils and with his other hands pulls some of the webbing away only to notice a fine glimmer..

As he pulls the webbing further away he uncovers a shield, truly of master workmanship! it gleams proudly in the dim light and surprisingly looks as if it has never taken a blow before. Also scattered about he finds small pouches containing precious gems and metals, presumably from other caravan masters that have traveled near here..

You found a shield! a +1 shield! Also, the random cash adds up to 100gp

Male Human

"Orsik, have you found anything master dwarf? We should continue on, this melee has slowed us down too much, I'm afraid..."

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I emerge from the "hole" carrying the shield and other treasure. My eyes sparkle as I can't take my gaze from it.
I mindlessly hand the bags with gems and coins over to Aren as I walk past.

In that hole I found the most amazing treasure! It has been a long while since I've laid eyes on a shield as remarkable as this! With my recent training, I should be able to filigree Tyr's symbol on the outter face.

Would any of you mind if I kept this shield to use as my own? I have no need of the gems and coins, but this shield... my eyes sparkle ... this shield is Perfect!

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

"Of all the things to find in a filthy spider hole like that! Of course I don't mind Orsik! You've earned that shield!"

I rest my hand on Orsik's shoulder.

"Thank you again for all you risk. May the shield keep you safer from the dangers ahead. Shall we be off then? Remember, absolute silence whilst we travel. We shan't piss on the gods' blessings by acting foolish. "

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I look to Bayard to see if he has any objections with me using the shield.
I assume not...
So I don the shield and sling my current shield across my back.

Aye, let's be off gents.

I move with the party towards the exit, in search of a safer place to rest until nightfall, when we will commence the tracking...
