Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

Right you are...

I take another gulp of brew, leave the sweating pint and pipe smoking at the table and approach the warhammered dwarf.

Barkeep, his pint on my tab please.

Good morrow master dwarf, please allow me to introduce myself, I am Aren of Locke, and my friend there is Bayard of the woodland realm. Excuse my bluntness, but you seem to be the exact sort we so rightly need. I see the holy symbol of Tyr upon your shield, and figure you a holy dwarf yourself. Please, join us at the table and enjoy your drinks, and a bit of meat, on us. We have a proposition.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I eye Aren up and down, and nod. I glance over to the table where Bayard is still sitting and nod to him as we'll.

Aye, Elf, a drink 'n a morsel or two of meat ought'a right hit the spot.
An' don't ye mind about yer bluntness, as you well've heard, we Dwarves pride ourselves on Ours! Ha!

I get up from my chair, and swing my warhammer up to rest on my shoulder. I slap a firm, good natured hand on Aren's shoulder and make my way to their table.

Let's get to drinkin' an proposition'n then! But be ye warned, I'm thirstier than a water elemental that found itself in Nessus!

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

I smirk at the dwarf's enthusiasm, relieved he agreed to hear us out so easily...dwarfs can be damn stubborn when pressed. Still, I eagerly lead the dwarf back to our table for some privacy.

Please have a seat master dwarf, and a drink.

I slide my sweating pint to Orsik, order another round from the wench and take a long puff from my pipe before I begin...

Dragons. It's dragons that we are up against. Bayard and I have faced dragon-kin, a fleet of kobolds, heard loud whispers of dragon eggs, cults of dragon worshipers and more. We are off now, though we know not exactly where with one more among us- a monk, who is also vested in this quest. In short, we need your hammer...and your prayers, for we continue on this quest with you or not. I cannot guarantee our success, even with your hammer, let alone your safety. But, I can offer adventure, prestige, and your fair share of a dragon's hoard, if it comes to that. Should we fail, I fear there will be dire consequences across the entire realm. We need you, master dwarf.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

Dragons eh? Not been too fond of 'em, seein as how they tend to hurt people and cause me grief b'cause of it. Not t' mention all the thieve'n they're wont to do.

As for "In short" I eye Aren, with a raised eyebrow my hammer 'n prayers are free o' other obligations at this moment, what with m' shield be'n finished 'n all.

And it sounds like you lot could use someone to mend yer wounds and stitch ya back t'gether...

I pause my speaking, eye my ale and take in a long slow breath...

I look back up to Aren and Bayard, If it's healin' ye be needin' or treasure ye be needin' to share I chuckle to myself Then by my beard, I be your Dwarf!

In one fluid motion, I finish my ale and burp loudly. So when d' we leave?

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

With a beaming smile, I slap Orsik on the back, and raise my pint to toast...

To new friends, and to great new adventure!

From my pocket, I remove three gold warhammer pendants. Each is bejeweled with runic inscriptions. I hand one to Bayard, one to Orsik, and keep one for myself.

Another new friend gave me these. I think it's fitting that we three wear them now, and as long as we journey together. Gentlemen, it will be an honor...

And with that, I wave down the wench once again, order another round and settle in with my pipe whilst we wait.

To answer your question, my good dwarf, we leave in about one hour's time, as soon as the monk returns- plenty of time to enjoy ourselves.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I take the offered necklace and eye the warhammers it's adorned with. Looking for any indication of who made it or what sort of magic it may contain.
religion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
insight: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17

An hour's time is more'n enough to quench this Dwarf's thirst!
How be your wounds? You both look as though ye've not spent much time relaxing here in Elturel. Do either of ye need healin' before we're off?

I'm not sure if I get any bonuses on a roll like this from being a member of the Smiths Guild?

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

you do not :)

Orsik rolls the amulet back and forth in his hands feeling the craftsmanship and eyeing it with skill on a Dwarf could have when inspecting craftsmanship.

The amulet is of Dwarven quality, there are hardly any blemishes in the gold and the stones are set firmly in it, runes run down one side of it that spell out "Frostbreaker" more than likely a signet belonging to said clan.

The amulet is not magical.

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Leosin finally returns, a broad-shouldered human in tow behind him wearing plate armor and a silver gauntlet on one hand, a fur cloak following behind him. They exchange words and the human goes into a back room while Leosin approaches the group.

"Please..follow me. That would be Ontharr and we have much to discuss.." He eyes the newest companion for a second.

"We have a knack for Dwarven companions eh?" He smiles and continues into the private room that Ontharr had entered.

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

The group begrudgingly abandons their table and drinks to follow Leosin. The room is well lit and the table is adorned with deep cups of red wine as well as a few more pitchers. Ontharr bows some and rests his hands on the table.

" Well..we don't have much time for pleasantries and I'm sorry for that." The Paladin's face wears a serious expression.

"My friends, at this point, you know almost as much about the Cult of the Dragon as we do, and thanks to you, we know twice as much today as we did a tenday ago. Something rotten is afoot. We have no formal organization to oppose these rascals -- Not yet anyway. We're working on that. And we need people like you, who know how and when to fight, and how and when to keep their heads down and observe. We can't promise you anything except long days filled with danger and stress -- but what could be better than that, eh?"

Leosin steps forward and clears his throat.

"If I may, Ontharr and I, along with a handful of other concerned leaders and scholars along the Sword Coast, are in the early stages of organizing against the Cult of the dragon. I belong to an organization called the Harpers, we are dedicated to furthering equality and justice and to keeping power out of the hands of those who don't deserve it. While Ontharr represents the Order of the Gauntlet, his order emphasizes faith, vigilance, and constant struggle against threats of evil. Many members of his order are Paladins and Clerics."

Leosin takes a long pull of red wine and sets his cup back down, taking a seat along with it.

"You see, the Cult of the Dragon remained active in the East and it was focused on raising Dracoliches. But it has shifted to the Sword Coast and now has a new fascination with living dragons, as well as Tiamat..both are cause for concern. The cult is on the move and it's up to something. Which is now what our two organizations are working on finding out, and hopefully stopping."

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I eye the craftsmanship of the newcomers plate armor with that glossy eyed look only a Smiths Guild member can appreciate...
I look to Aren to see if he has anything to say on the matter, but his mind has wondered, probably remembering recent battles and departed friends. So I take the initiative and respond;

You must be the Monk me new friends here've been speakin' of. I be Orsik Holyforge, master weaponsmith, and devoted healer t' anyone in need o' it.

I know I be new to this expedition, but if there be days o' danger and potential treasure t' be had, then lets be to it.

Did ye have any idea where we next be need'n to go?

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

Orsik chiming in snaps me out of my of my day dream, and I decide to pipe up, "Thank you Orsik for speaking up. My dreams have been too dark lately, and even haunt the day."

Slowly, I look around the table at each of my companions, measuring their resolve. This quest, righteous as it may be, may kill all of us. Even with the gods on our side, and with all the power of lords and dwarfs, elves and arrows, spells and secrets, defeated, we may be.

"It is time the fight is taken to our enemy...whatever the plan, we are with you."

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

Filled with vigor from the overwhelming comradery I break my silence. slamming my ale to the table I burst out of my chair.

"You have my Javelin!"

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

"And my hammer!"

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

With a smile and a nod, "and my spell-sword."

"Gentlemen, I am proud to be a part of such a thing as this. Nothing in my mind, at this moment, could be more important, and I could think of nothing else better to offer my utmost devotion. Thank you for allowing to be a part of something so great.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

lewl, ur welcome! j/k

I turn to the newcomers to see if it appears that any decisions have been made.

I can be ready t' leave in a few strokes o' the smith's hammer. I just be needin t' grab me things from the guild forge.

Where're we off to?

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Leosin leads the conversation again.

"We know that the cult is heading north. Where exactly and what they're planning to do with it are our next two questions. The best option to do this is to try and get hired onto their caravan as guards."

Ontharr continues on where Leosin leaves off, stepping forward some.

"With out a doubt the cult will have to pass through Baldur's Gate. If you take a boat along the River Chionthar it runs straight from Elturel and into Baldur's Gate. If you cannot get hired onto the cults caravan then surely there are others heading the same direction. All you need to do is keep an eye on them and go where they go."

Leosin digs around his belt and tosses a pouch onto the table.
" There is 50 gold pieces in there to cover for any travel expenses you may need. The journey by boat will only be 2 or 3 days at most so you may actually beat the cult there. Take time to prepare..but keep a very watchful eye at the South gate. The roads are too thin for a normal cart to move about so all caravans MUST unload and go through the city on foot, then hire or buy a new wagon on the other side..the journey around the city is more dangerous and takes far too long."

He looks the group up and down, rubbing his chin.
"Also..change your appearance..you may not want to be noticed. You have Orsik with you, use him to your advantage seeing as they haven't seen you with him before."

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

With a heavy sigh, I cross my arms and lean back into my chair considering the plan...I decide to pack my pipe. I strike a match on the table, and hold the pipe between my teeth as I speak...

...A sound plan...

I shake out the match, and take a few quick puffs.

If we are able, we will thwart whatever may be their plan. Surely, Bayard and I will be recognized by some among the cultists if we are not careful...disguises will be necessary...Still, just being among the cultists should prove to be valuable to our cause, even if we only disrupt or delay them...If I may amend the plan..? Once we embed ourselves among the cultists, and learn anything valuable, we must be able to communicate back to you here. Send one other. He need not be a fighter, or skilled in any way but dependable. Should we learn anything useful, the messenger can leave the caravan carrying our message back to you here. This way, we will be a step ahead, rather than behind.

In the meantime, we should make what preparations we need tonight- disguises, provisions and depart at first light. If we are to be caravan guards, we should look tough, but dumb. Competent, but unassuming. I thank you gentlemen for such a well-thought out plan. Is there anything else to discuss? Bayard? Orsik?

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Leosin smiles at the motion of a messanger

"Trust me..the Harpers will know how to get a hold of you."

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

We are in good hands then. Thank you Master Leosin, for your guidance and wisdom.

I stand from my chair and snuff out my pipe, signaling that it is time to leave.

I'm off to make my preparations. See you two at the northern road at sunrise. As I wave a hand over my shoulder on my way out.

While out, I pick up an eye patch, a large sun hat, used brown traveler's cloak, and eyed a hook-hand before deciding against it. I also buy and pack a week's worth of rations, a flask (full), snuff and weed, and feed for the horse.

The next few hours are spent in meditation. I know the Arch Fey has more to reveal. I should know all I can before the action begins...

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I watch as Aren snuffs out his pipe, thinking to myself, "I ought'a take up smokin', might help w' all the stress!"

Thinking on all that was said, especially the need for disguises, a thought comes to mind that causes me to chuckle; I remember hearing stories as a lad, of a Dwarven belt that when worn by a non-Dwarf, caused him to grow a full beard overnight. HA! I laugh as I imagine my Elven counterparts adorned with a beard as fine and illustrious as my own! I'm not sure an Elf with a beard would help us fit in! Ha Ha!

On a more serious note, thinking of all that I too need to prepare, I decide to depart as well.

It be time for me t' prepare as well. Is there anything any of ye be in need o' b'fore we depart this fine city? Armor? Blades? my eyes twinkle Hammers? If any of ye be needin' me b'fore sunrise, I'll be at th' Smith's Guild house. Send word, an I'll bring wha'ever supplies ye be needin' with me in th' morn.

I laugh as I stand from the table, finish my ale, swing my hammer up to my shoulder, clap Bayard on the back and begin whistling an old Dwarven tune as I stroll out of the private back room and out of the tavern. All the while, thinking what a fine adventure I've just been set on, and imagining what trouble and/or riches I may find myself surrounded by...

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

"Well I suppose that’s my cue”

I finish my own ale as my companions leave the table. At the local market I pick up a large hooded cloak, I pack away my hunters mask in my pack along with a small blade and other necessary provisions for the trek. The Cultists have never truly seen my face so I’m not too worried about them recognizing me, as long as I don’t do anything to bring much attention to myself. The thrill of the Hunt is in the air and I am anxious for our next adventure!

I don’t think I ever said before because I didn’t think it would ever be a factor but I always pictured my character wearing a wooden tribal mask during battles, like in my character picture. Still trying to go for the predator archetype with the Hunting and the mask and so on. That’s also why I don’t talk much, my Charisma is 8…

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

Master of Treasure! Aren Subtract 15 Gp from the parties funding to cover all provisions needed for the journey

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

The party gathers about the docks in search of a suitable ship to start their journey up river to Baldur's Gate.

They sign on to a decent sized barge carrying trade good and has enough room below deck for travelers. The grizzled half-orc captain doesn't ask too many questions and his crew seems like a good bunch.

The trek up north goes smoothly, the half-orc telling exciting tales of his adventures on sea and the monstrous Krakens and Leviathans that inhabit the waters. In mid tale a small horn can be heard and feet moving frantically above deck.

As the party bursts on deck they see Goblin raiders scrambling over the rails and running about trying to pick everything up that isn't pinned down! The Captain roars in anger and begins to chase them off, grabbing a club and swinging it wildly!

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

The party counts 10 Goblins about the deck! Players may go!

If you choose a goblin to attack just assign it what ever number to start keeping track of HP, ie 'I attack goblin4!' and so on. It helps matching attacks/saving throws.

Male Wood Elf Ranger lv. 3; HP 26/36 AC; 14

“Looks like a hunt has come early Men!

I quickly scan the deck for a good target and spot a goblin not far off (#1) and let a Javelin fly

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I glance about quickly to see if anyone is in dire need of healing, seeing no one bad off, I select a goblin standing just to the side of Bayard's target, and reach deep within to find the inner strength that Tyr has bestowed within me, and grasp ahold of it. Using my force of will, I manipulate the force within, and allow the energy to flow without. Above the head of my chosen target, as it has each time I've manipulated the power in this manner, a bright, flame-hot light splits the sky, and descends on the goblin.

Goblin #2 Dex saving throw DC13
Fail save radiant damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

After the Goblin is engulfed in light, I shrug my shield, bright with Tyr's symbol, over my arm and unhook my warhammer from my belt and stand ready, awaiting my chance to darken its beautifully crafted face with goblin bits.

The last bit was a bit dark for a LG cleric, but Dwarves are familiar with the evils and nefarious nature of Goblins...

First damage roll ever... Leaves a bit to be desired eh? Lol

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

After surveying the scene on deck, I ignite the arcane into my hand and hurl the golden energy across the deck aimed at one of the filthy goblins. Goblin #3

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

Despite my own deep wounds openly flowing, I realize the damage to the crew outweighs my own risk, so I turn and face the the goblins on the bank. I witness as a javelin strikes home on one of them and a darkness streak towards another. Keeping my shield up in an attempt to ward off any more blows, I reach into myself and grab ahold of the flow of power, and issue forth a Command to two goblins standing near the recently javelined one. Realizing that attempting to control two creatures in this manner uses more of the power within me, I once again weigh the needs of others versus my sacrifice.

Command: Leap forward into the water!
Wisdom save DC 13 or follow command.

I then turn back and face the goblin in front of me, with renewed vigor, and a plan hatching in my head to turn his ugly, ill begotten face into a dark red spot upon the ship's deck!

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

The booming voice of Orsik rings in the goblins ears as they stumble forward into the river, each step bringing them closer to their dark and cold fate. The goblins scream in their mind trying to break the command, but those voices slowly silence as the water engulfs them..
Wis Save: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Wis Save: 1d20 ⇒ 10

The Ambush party has lost too many of it's own! they scatter back into the brush and woods, retreating from the characters.

Seeing their support break away from the banks the remaining goblins take what little loot they stole and abandon ship! They leap off the sides into small canoe,s breaking off from the barge in attempts to make it to shore!

The crew see to the wounded while the captain praises the party. He thanks them for saving his crew and boat, he offers to wave the costs of the journey in return.

Male Human Warlock/ Level 3 / HP 18/ AC 14

Graciously, I accept the Captain's gesture on behalf of the party, and then turn to Orsik, We should tend to the wounded...

Medicine: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19

Once the wounded are cared for, I search the goblin corpses for anything of value before tossing them overboard.

Then, I find a good seat near the bow, smoke my pipe, and enjoy my time at sea. Hopefully, there are no other unhappy surprises along our way...

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I nod graciously to Aren for his ministrations, and silently curse those goblins who struck me, praying that one day justice finds them... Or Me!

Captain, gather yer 3 most wounded men, and have 'em stand near meself and my companions if you please
I assume he complies...

I reach within and grasp the energy that resides there, feeling an extra surge of warmth that tells me Tyr is pleased with what I plan to do. I begin casting Prayer of Healing over myself, Aren, Bayard, and the 3 chosen sailors...

Hp's Healed: 2d8 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (8, 7) + 3 + 4 = 22
All 6 ppl get this amount of hp's healed, up to their max

During the 10 minutes it takes to complete, all 6 characters feel their wounds warm, and a tingling of energy as their muscles and tendons repair themselves, and layers of skin close.

This done, I join Aren at the bow, and ask if I may have a puff or two of his pipe, thinking if this is the stress I'll be expecting on this journey, I will definitely be acquiring a pipe at the next town we come to...

THAT is what I expect when I roll my dice... Makes RP sense tho, my heals hit like trucks, even if my hammer does not! Lol

Male Elf Wizard | lvl 5 | HP 24/24 | AC 13/13/10 | F+1/R+4/W+4

The remaining time spent on the boat is spent in peace as it makes its way up river towards Baldur's Gate.

Off boarding the ship, the Captain thanks the party again for saving his cargo and wishes them safe journey.

Pouring rain always seems to be coming down in the city, that combined with the narrow streets is what prevents anyone from entering the city with any type of cart or animal. Not even stray animals can be seen ducking between the buildings..

Frume had recommended a contact by the name of Ackyn Selebon for the party to check in with. His shop is in the Outer City, North of the city wall, in a district called Black Gate. There he sells all the material needed for long-distance freight hauling: wagons, rope, netting, grease, chains, wheels, and so on. He is not directly involved with the hiring of caravan guards but he knows people who are. Surely his shop would be a good stopping point for any of the caravans headed North bound.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

Before departing, I let my companions know;

I'll head to me guild house and ask about our prey. If they've gott'n any aid from Smiths in the area, I'll find out.

I'll also get any info about this Ackyn fella, and see if he's trustworthy. After gettin' word and any supplies the guild can spare, I'll meet ye in the Outter City.

Upon departing the ship, I head to the nearest shop specializing in smoking and purchase a sturdy, travel-able pipe, and some tabac of decent origin, then make my way to the Smih's Guild...

I'll let Orsik check on our contact. In the meantime, I'll head to Selebon's shop and get what we need. If Orsik finds out anything too shady with Selebon, I'll know where to find him.

Once at Selebon's shop I buy the provisions we need, according to plan; a wagon, rope, grease, spare wheels and a cheap nag to haul it for us, etc. I take the time to size Selebon up, to get a good idea if he can be trusted.

A cart-horse like this makes me miss my courier at Greenest... still, it's imperative that our rouse works.

Bayard was right, we will likely be very recognizable outside of our disguises. If we're discovered, we are all certainly doomed.

All there is to do now is to smoke, meditate, and wait for the caravan to arrive...where is Orsik?

Orsik, elaborate on questions you ask about the cult towards your fellow smiths?

When asked about Ackyn, most of the Smiths shrug and nod in agreement that Ackyn is a good man and runs an honest business. They fill some of his orders when it comes to some of the wagon repairs, outside of that he seems to be an average man.

Aren does his best to discern what kind of man Ackyn may be, he has fair prices, makes small chat, and seems like a kind man. Other than that he isn't able to tell too much about him.

Aren, the cost for all of those goods comes out to be 95Gp..Are you sure you want to make that purchase? It may also be supicious for a cart of merchants heading North...with no goods. Cost break down is below.
Rope - 1g
Donkey - 50gp
Wagon - 35gp
Misc items - 10gp

While at the guild house I inquire around about the presence of any dragonborn, or people chatting idley about their fondness for dragons in any suspicious manner. I ask as to whether or not there has been an influx of weapon purchases/orders made recently for any organizations. And I ask specifically if anyone has heard of or had dealings with any cults recently.

I also ask a fellow weaponsmith named Ulfar about the benefits of smoking and what type of pipe/weed he recommends. He gives me a stout dwarven pipe and a few pinches of tabac from his stash with recomendations about where to pick up my own leaf in town. On my way to the Outter City, I smoke the pinch Ulfar gave me, and swing by the shop he recommended and purchase a tabac pouch and enough tabac to fill it.

I assume that to be about 1g? So I'll take that off my personal purse.

No worries Orsik, I assume that would be like..1s but it's nbd.

Some of the Smith's seem bothered by your questioning and others seem suspicious of you. Others laugh and exclaim "Classic Orsik!"

Surely a cult of their size wouldn't be as so foolish to speak openly about their 'love of dragons' or the return of Tiamat. The Cult is well organized and is even careful not to alert The Harpers.

Who knows..maybe one of the Smiths is a cultist himself...

On second thought, Selebon can probably help us out with getting hired into a caravan, rather than join it as merchants.

Sorry for the trouble sir, but my companions and I were sent by Frume, and were told you may be able to offer our party some aid. There is a caravan on their way here as we speak, and I've been told you know those who are involved in hiring caravan guards. My companions and I are well-suited to the job. Care to help out a weary traveler looking for honest work? I have the coin of course, for your time...

Ackyn nods and points Aren in the direction of a few Taverns, insisting that if they mention his name they'll surely be hired on as a guard, but maybe a show of skill would help as well.

After a day or two passes by Ackyn's shop seems to be booming, a large caravan will be heading North soon and everyone is gathering up to watch one another's back.

Aren and Bayard may make Perception checks to see if they recognize anyone from the cultists camp.

Every one may make either a Persuasion check or Athletics check to convince any of the caravan masters to hire them on for the journey.

I scan the caravan, remaining alert to anyone who might recognize Bayard or I and approach one of the caravan masters that I'm sure I don't recognize. I try to persuade him to hire our party's services as guards.

I tip the brim of my over-sized hat to the caravan master as I begin my bluff...

Mornin'...big caravan. Yur sure to get hit along the way- Orcs, gobs and the sort are all 'round these parts ichin' for easy caravan prey. I've got myself and two more that can offer a sword, if yer willin'.

Male Hill Dwarf Life Cleric/ lvl 3/ AC 19/ Hp: 15/30

I saunter up, right behind Aren, adorned in my heavy armor and shield that have clearly seen battle. My overcloak/tabard are safely stowed in my pack. I smile warmly at the caravan master and clap Aren on the shoulder, keeping my hand there, subconsciously indicating with this subtle gesture that I'm with this elf whether or not they accept his story...

A sword?! How 'bout a hammer?

I'll post for Bayard to keep things moving forward

Bayard approaches the caravan on his own, checking out each wagon to see who may be a worthy host.

After finding a good train he competes in a contest of athleticism, showing off his skill fairly well.

Aren and Orsik get hired on as Sergeants! They're paid 8gp per ten day plus food and living expenses along the road

The Caravan train will soon set out for Waterdeep in the far North, Sergeants are expected to manage two to five other guards.
