I am proposing you a new PFS scenario in Core Campaign.

The chosen adventure will be #0-04: The Frozen Fingers of Midnight. Skelg the Ripper, envoy from the Land of the Linnorm Kings, lies wasting in his villa on the outskirts of Absalom. A frigid curse followed Skelg from his northern homeland and grips his bearish heart in its frosty embrace. As the bizarre freezing ailment pushes Skelg to the brink of death, the Society dispatches you and your fellow Pathfinders to uncover the secrets of the freezing curse before Absalom falls to its icy grip.

What I will be expecting?
Character builds: Whatever fitting PFS Core rules. You can propose up to two characters suited for a lower and a higher tier (for example a level 2 and a level 4).
Posting frequency: 2 times per day
Playing style: Fast pace with capacity to RP (I want fluid combats with characters that have paid a minimum observance to a background and make an effort for party interaction). I have preference for players that make an effort to perform their characters, rather than just stats beasts. I like the strategy layer of combat, and will help you out if you have difficulties with the rules on that sense.
Timespan: The game will take around 3 and 6 weeks to complete, depending on players responsiveness.
Party size: 5 or 6 for upper tier [4-5], 4 or 5 for lower tier [1-2]
Pregens: I will accept pregens, but will give priority to other characters.
GMing style: I make passive rolls, as Perception, Initiative or Saves. GM bots and delays if only one player is missing to act will be frequent.
Mapping tools: You are expected to have access to view (and preferably edit) Google Presentations maps.
Player responsiveness: I expect you to have initiative as a player, pushing the game to explore and interact, not just reacting to the GM initiative rolling and direct questions for what next.

Just provide a couple ideas of possible characters (remember Core) you will like to play with (class, race and level are enough). I will check your previous gaming experience and take into account party balance when selecting who is going in.

People who has GMed me (past or present) will have priority. I will reserve at least 1 spot for someone with little or no previous PbP experience, so take this as a great opportunity to get experience in PbP roleplaying.

I plan to start the game not earlier than Monday 25.

Good luck everybody!

Nice to see you again, Rutseg!

Applying with Reed.

2-Weapon Fighting Level 1 Ranger.

Seeing as how this would be a good excuse for Lionel to buy an incredibly gawdy white fur winter coat, I have no choice but to accept.

1st level reach cleric applying for this.

Also, can you buy a masterwork cold weather clothing, paying the extra 50g in PFS? If so, I'm going to waste the money on that.

Scarab Sages

Hmmm...

Well, it looks like we could do with a party face, so I will submit Numair Salmalin, a Half-Elf Sorceror 1 for consideration :-)

While relatively new to the boards, and PbP's in general, a fantasy game starting at introductory levels would be of interest to me. I have played D&D for years, the original AD&D, 2e, 3e, 3.5 & 4e, recently I moved north for work, and as such left my gaming crew behind. I have no experience with Pathfinder, but I have heard good response from a few of my gaming buddies.

I am typically inspired to create characters by artwork, and images, as such I feel that images like this from Grandanvil on Deviantart make me lean towards a ranger of some sort, with a mix of archery and melee combat skills. Also, a love of Lord of the Rings and Aragorn make me think that the character would lean towards Longbow & a large blade, hand & a half, or two handed.

I am currently involved in Joey Virtue's Heroes of Freedom City, where I have been posting regularly since being selected for the game. I am in the EDT time zone, and typically post in the early morning and late evening around my work schedule.

I sent a PM to GM Rutseg, and will be perusing the Pathfinder ruleset to create a submission for the game. I understand my inexperience with the game may be a drawback, and if not selected I wish the game and the players selected nothing but the best.

Interested as always.

Hmm... Like many CORE games, we seem to be a bit ranger heavy. I may make Hadanka into something else before I reach 2nd level. But currently he is a switch hitter ranger bow/curved blade.

This a PFS and CORE game.

PFS (PathFinder Society) games are kinda the follow up to Living Greyhawk. It is some rules by which people all over the world make characters and have adventures using the same assumptions. That way you can take the same characters and continue to play them with other people any where at anytime.

The free rules for PFS play are here.
CORE means the PC's must be made using only the Core Rule Book (CRB).

Low level PFS CORE is actually just about ideal for people new to the game. It only uses the CRB so not as many books you have to learn. Plus the groups tend to be at least moderately experienced players who are well able to help with any difficulties or misunderstandings you might be having (and can incidentally help keep you alive if things go wonky).
PbP can also be good for learning because it gives the player plenty of time to go look up a particular rule or even ask questions in the forums if not sure how to do something.

If you don't have a PC ready when the game is ready to start there are pregens available. They are serviceable, but nothing special. Some beginner builds are also available NOOB Builds. They are a little better than the pregens but still relatively simple for a beginner to get the hang of. Many people would still prefer to make there own character and that is perfectly fine. If you would like some assistance, sing-out and lots of people will be willing pitch in with suggestions.

Sovereign Court

This is Derek, and I played Althera in Rutseg's last game. I actually just started another Core game with her, but I would be interested in starting a 2nd character. Thinking Paladin or maybe TWF sword and board type.

Dark Archive

Applying with Drostan, a dwarven fighter.

Grand Lodge

So I am applying with a human level 1 cleric, Sagart (zero adventures with this character), or with G'Boar, a human level 1 Ranger with one adventure (Masters of the Fallen Fortress) completed. I really try and role play the histories I have created for each player and hope you find them intriguing.

The Exchange

Just saying, Lionel will be buying a wand of CLW, after being peer pressured into it. However, that's no excuse for disabling traps with your face. Please.

Scarab Sages

In the event that some people don't fit in I'd be happy to run the same scenario for those left out.

Just to clarify I've both GMed and played Frozen Fingers of Midnight in normal mode (dating back to 2008 or so). Naturally I won't take benefit of my prior knowledge, of course.

Let me recap what do we have for now:
- Reed, human ranger 1 (2 weapon)
- Lion, human cleric 1 (reach melee)
- Numair, half-elf sorcerer 1 (2 handed melee, support)
- Honor, human ranger 1 (switch-hitter)
- Eveline, halfling ranger 1 (ranged)
- Hádanka, elf ranger 1 (switch-hitter)
- Jasper, human paladin 1 (sword&board)
- Drostan, dwarf fighter 1
- Sagart, human cleric (melee) or G'Boar, human ranger 1

For now it seems a bit biased towards melee builds. Thus, I feel there are still slots for support or controller casters, and skill masters. I am grateful for Eveline's offer to open a second table.

I will take the final decision on Monday.
If you have any doubt about how PFS Core works or this recruitment, let me know :)

Good luck everybody!

My other concept for Jasper is a bard, actually. I feel like I haven't given them enough of a chance. But It'll all come down to whether or not I have time over the weekend to build him out. If not, I'll withdraw from consideration. I'll let you know before Monday.

Worked on stats and such, got a handle on equipment, but not sure how to format his stats for the board. Also, curious if there is a section on history of the world and whatnot for a more cohesive background.

Rough Back Ground:
Currently running with the idea that he, a half elf, was the son of a minor noble, or knight given protectorate over a forest on the outskirts of a kingdom. Father fell in love with an elf, he was raised in his father's manor. Evil baron type makes land grab, accuses father of treason for being seduced by a fae creature, makes a move on father's lands. Mother killed, father captured, young Auryn flees with father's sword and shield, falls in with a band of elven rangers who are there to avenge Auryn's mothers death, he stays and fights the baron who set up his dad for years, growing to manhood a rebel and an outlaw. With the aid of the ranger, exposes the baron, one of the rangers was a member of the Liberty's Edge, so Auryn joined the society.

Rough bones I know, but it accounts for his stats, and lack of formal education as well as his mentoring into the Society. Also, saw some stuff on archtypes, but couldn't figure out if it was core or not. Used Herolab (which I use for Mutants & Masterminds) to make the character, think I have everything right except for the formatting.

One thing, I plugged in Favored Enemy Orcs, kind of as a placeholder, and didn't change it after I statted Auryn up and came up with his background. It would make more sense to have Favored Enemy (Human), but that is still pretty borad and feels kind of gaming the system to me, should I narrow it down to Human (by region) and tie it to the Barons lands and his men from my backstory?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Grand Lodge

I am going to withdraw Hadanka from consideration until I can figure out how I want to rebuild him.

Scarab Sages

In the case I am to run another table to fill the spots I have to warn you all I'm ridiculously tightly scheduled at the moment. I have maybe one or two hours a day time to do all the necessary updating, so it would not be suitable for those who require the gamemaster to keep the wheels in motion.

I have finally decided to take the following 5 of you:
- Reed, human ranger 1 (2 weapon)
- Lion, human cleric 1 (reach melee)
- Numair, half-elf sorcerer 1 (2 handed melee, support)
- Honor, human ranger 1 (switch-hitter)
- Eveline, halfling ranger 1 (ranged)

Please, proceed to the Discussion thread. If someone has not reported there in the following 24h I might call one of the other players as a reserve.

I hope Eveline can carry all of the others in a second table, but anyway, thanks for applying and good luck!

Sovereign Court

I'm Eveline's player.

Right, I'll try to create the campaign page at some point this week, but as I said earlier I'm rather busy at the moment since I'm working on day shift and my wife is working the evening shift, and there's a toddler we have to care for.

EDIT: Made it.

I'll PM you once I get the recruitment page up and running. The following PCs/people have reserved spots, but I'll ask around if more people are interested.

- Hádanka, elf ranger 1 (switch-hitter) [Kydeem de'Morcaine]
- Jasper, human paladin 1 (sword&board) [Derek Weil]
- Drostan, dwarf fighter 1 [Baerlie] (Eurovision contest was nice, thanks for hosting!)
- Sagart, human cleric (melee) or G'Boar, human ranger 1 [Mike Garlington] (Another US Army officer... I'm seeing a lot of PFS PbP players from that sector...)

The Exchange

Would A dwarven Cleric like this one do?
