GM TOP #0-16: To Scale the Dragon (Core)

Hello all, I am opening up recruitment for a CORE version of 0-16: To Scale the Dragon. This is tier 5-9 and will be a pathfinder society version one scenario.

Scenario Summary

I have one spot reserved for a level 9 bard. But I feel the character does not cause out of tier issues, so if we end up tier 5-6 it should still be a fun adventure.

All I need from my prospective recruits (you) is your character class (or build focus, aka 'melee striker') and level. If we have seven or more applicants, I will chose a somewhat balanced party of six.

Unfortunately this is a Core game so an investigator won’t be allowed, sorry. It is also a Tier 5-9 scenario so you can’t bring a PC that is outside those levels. You would be welcome to apply with a lvl 7 Core Pregen if you wished to join though.

Unfortunately, I do not have a currently free CORE character (only one of them would be in the level 5+ anyway). Therefore, playing a pregen is also not an option as I do not intend to build another CORE character anytime soon...

My core character of the appropriate level is stuck in Outpost but if this game's start is late enough, I can join in. He would be a level5 cleric of "please don't channel".

I will send my lvl 9 bard a link to the game. I 'believe' that even with him this would be low tier, but I'll do the calculations today and double check.

There's just one thing I'd like to double-check about the character sheet. In the inventory, there's a spellbook with some spells listed (1st—Charm Person, Color Spray, Sleep; 3rd—Lightning Bolt). This means that the spells are not currently prepared, but they are learned and I can choose to prepare them after a rest - correct?

As far as I know, you can adjust the prepared spells on pregens. So for Ezren you could swap out anything he has prepared for those extra spells he has known. Or double up a spell or two if you don't like the load up.

The cleric pregen gets to swap a lot more if she wants!

Only one bard. Khellek was the one I had a spot reserved for. Party of five and low tier. Basically just waiting on RR to give us an idea of his timetable.

(And for me to have time to set all the nitty gritty stuff up)

I mean, I have a Bard 7 that I could bring... but we would be 6 players, APL (7+7+5+6+9+7)/6 = 6.833 = 7, rounding up to High tier because it is a Season 0 scenario with 6 players... which might not be the best of ideas.

Yeah, we aren’t going to do that and mess up our low tier PCs. I’ll keep you in mind for my next game or if someone drops out. Thanks for checking in!

And I'm not exactly a combat heavy PC .. low-tier is much safer.

Since it's been a month so far, and we'll have five players with Red Reverend, should we try to recruit a low tier sixth player on the recruitment thread? Or would that still end up making the party high tier?

I'm ready to start, btw.

Unfortunately another PC would push us to high tier regardless of their level.

I have been watching RR’s game and they are progressing still.

I haven't done any PFS yet and would be fine with a pregen if you need another. It sounds like you are full though.

We aren’t waiting for people to fill to start, just for one player to finish a convention game.

Good news, RR just rolled his dayjob check and that scenario has ended. Thus this game should start this week.
