So that is the secret project James mentioned that would be unveiled VERY SOON.

Also, "pocket editions" of the Core Rulebook and Bestiary, it seems, and "Cooperation with Chaosium" on the Strange Aeons adventure path. Intriguing.

Hey cpt. yesterday, is that a pocket handbook in your pocket or are you just really happy to see me?

I'm squinting hard at the release date on Curse of the Crimson Throne hardcover. Please tell me that says September 2016 because that would be perfect for me. Any chance for pawns too?

Oh, and just take all my money now.

Woot!! I love this!!

I still have my Tripp pants from high school, they don't have a lot of pockets but the ones they do have are DEEP.

Checking...

Nope. You'll have to pick up a handy haversack.

I'll be interested to hear how Paizo presents this publicly. They've had some trepidation on the hardcover AP front because they don't want people to think "Oh, I'm not going so subscribe now, I'll just wait for the hardcover" and subscriptions are their lifeblood. I wonder if they'll respond to that.

While I'm interested in what we'll be said regarding this book two stipulations have already been repeatedly stated. 1) Milestones and 2) If the original issues of the AP is nearly out of print.

Seriously doubt we would wait for 8 years to pick up new and exciting APs because it "might" be released in hardcover. I think it's a smart move my Paizo to make hardcovers of their 3.5 edition APs. No need to make hardcovers of anything after that, IMHO.

That would be awesome.

Well, bought the AP just a week ago, when any AP was for sale. But given the good read right now, I don't regret it much. Maybe it's worth it to also get the new hardcover...

I hope that one day we will see a hardcover versions of every 3.5 pathfinder AP.

I was just thinking about literally seconds before I saw this post. :O

Teehee, Sincubus is going to sooo flip out when he learns that there's no Bestiary this year :P

Why would anyone think there is going to be a bestiary this year?

Also if you look, I bet you find that there are all or mostly out of print. I don't expect Second Darkness to get a reprint for awhile.

I wouldn't rule it out, except for the near future. Although Second Darkness will need more of a rewrite than a simple update and reprint, James Jacobs has gone on record saying that this is something that he would like to see done.

James wanting to do it and the management team agreeing to do it well the product is still in print are 2 very different things. :D

We should start a write-in campaign to show our support!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what exactly the pocket guides are. It sounds like they will have all the same content as the Core book and Bestiary but will be considerably less expensive? Are these some sort of smaller sized paperbook versions with less (or even no) art and a reduced font size?

Reduced font size? Hm. Just what I need, more text I can't read. :-(

Cartwheels of joy here.

Curse has been my favorite AP for a long, long time... (Hell's Rebels is the first one in a position to bump it off, and I may just make them co-favorites)

I'm insane enough that despite having all six volumes of the original CotCT sitting on my bookshelf while I write this, I am TOTALLY snapping this up when it comes out.

I love the idea of a smaller version of the Core Book -- but is it going to come with a magnifying glass? :P

I've never thought that made much sense, at least not with the 3.5 APs.

Dark Archive

Pocket versions just got uploaded on the hardcover product pages. We may see a product page tonight for the CotCT HC but it is getting late.

So the pocket size rulebooks are 8.4" x 6.5", which is about the size of the new novels from TOR, except about an inch wider, but the same height.

My CotCT game finishes up this Saturday.

I am thus deeply amused by this announcement's timing and the universe's sense of irony. :)
