PFS PbP: Quest for Perfection (1-5) recruitment

Recruitment

Hi all,

I am recruiting for the Quest for Perfection trilogy. Tier 1-5 and will be run using standard PFS rules. I will run all three parts.

Sign up here, earliest expected start date 7 December. Expect a break between Christmas and New Year.

First 6 to sign-in get the spot.

I'd like to give Timmon a go.

He's a human monk 1. I'll rework him to PFS standard.

My PFS number is 90661.

Sounds like fun, I've never actually done a PFS campaign before. I'll need to work up a character, a semi-standard human cleric can be ready in plenty of time.

PFS # 147497 if that's important.

Welcome both!

Toodles, if you have any questions how PFS works: just ask.

As for your PFS number: your character number will (most likely) be 147497-1. The second character you make will be 147497-2 and so on.

Sovereign Court

Sounds fun to run a whole trilogy. I'd prefer to run with Kiti, but she's level 4 and it's looking like low tier. I have two characters at level 2 that I can use instead. I'll think about a bit before I make my choice.

Silver Crusade

Count me in!!

Archer paladin.

Good to see there is appetite for this!

Current crew:
Timmon: Monk 1
Belina: Paladin Archer 1
Toodles: Cleric 1
Kiti: Something 2

Sovereign Court

I have an Inquisitor 1 I can bring, love the idea of running the whole thing.

I have a level 1 rogue/ soon to be investigator I would like to play.

Submitting Illirio for consideration, a human Evoker.

The Exchange

I'd like to join with Aurum Geld, Kalistocrat. Human Time Oracle 1.

Sovereign Court

The characters I have are cleric/rogue and fighter(archer)/wizard. I think I'll go with the fighter/wizard, Folium. I'll make a Paizo alias for him soon.

Illirio and Aurum,

You are number 7 and 8 to apply. I won't run this for 7 players but if more people sign up I might do two tables.

Current crew:
Timmon: Monk 1
Belina: Paladin Archer 1
Toodles: Cleric 1
Kiti: Fighter/Wizard 2
Andrew: Inquisitor 1
Trishadow: Investigator 1

Waitlist
Illirio: Evoker 1
Aurum: Time Oracle 1

Disclaimer: I am not certain if I will run 2 tables, I am considering it

Dark Archive

TriShadow here, but this is the alias I will be playing with. I have not tried pbp, so I may need some tips/pointers early on. I'm looking forward to it though! Just to be clear, My first level is a rogue, but then I will go investigator. (The goal is to be 3rd in both by 6th and pure investigator the rest of the way).

Sovereign Court

We could always split into two 4p tables, unless that's too small to do well in these.

Grand Lodge

Here's Timmon. PFS 90661-2.

Might change his equipment list a little, but otherwise I think he's ready.

Trishadow, the biggest thing to get used to in PbP is the pace. It will be sloooow compared to a RL game. But if you are so inclined, it gives you a lot of time for description and RP.

Dark Archive

Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to throwing down some well thought out role playing. I'm really excited to start!

Some specifics for PbP PFS that may or may not be common knowledge:

- Once we have started you are not allowed to use your character in other games until we are finished.
- Try to post (at least) once a day during weekdays. We all know and accept that real life comes first and that this is a game, so if you will be away for more than a day let us know in the discussion thread.
- My PbP games normally take 6 weeks to complete, so we are looking at some 18 weeks in total.
- If you find PbP gaming is not for you then let us know, this is a game and you should not feel obliged to finish the game because you signed up for it.
- Communicate! If there is anything that we need to know or that you don't like or understand please post in the discussion threads.
- Try to move the game forward, give the others something to work with in your posts.
- Make the GM's task easier by having a status bar and update that when needed. For dice rolls: use a line break between dice rolls and make it obvious why you included modifiers.
- Use bold text for what you say, italics for what you think and ooc for minor out of character things. If you need several lines of ooc consider using the discussion thread or a spoiler.
- I handle initiative different than in real-life games, will post more info once we start or you can check the spoiler in my profile.

The above is rather concise, if you want / need more information I am happy to provide it.

Liberty's Edge

Hello, Kiti here. This is the character I will be using. I'll do some shopping etc. before the start.

If I do two tables, would this be a good arrangement?

Table A:
Belina: Paladin 1 (Archer)
Illirio: Evoker 1
Timmon: Monk 1
Andrew: Inquisitor 1

Table B:
Folium: Fighter/Wizard 2 (Archer)
Toodles: Cleric 1
Trishadow: Rogue 1
Aurum: Time Oracle 1

Both tables seem to be lacking a bit in the melee department, but that depends a lot on the actual cleric, inquisitor and rogue characters.

I don't mind how you arrange yourself across two tables, so if you have other ideas just post them!

Disclaimer: I am not certain if I will run 2 tables, I am considering it

Looks good to me.

Silver Crusade

As long as the inquisitor has healing we should be good.

Sovereign Court

I'll have him on the site this evening, but the Inquisitor does not have healing.

Of course, if someone has a wand of CLW (surely at a 4p 1-2 SOMEONE has spent the two prestige!) I can use it.

Silver Crusade

I don't know if it's too late but
# 158679-2

Hung Dong, you are certainly not too late. I am putting you with table A.

And in the good news department: I will do 2 tables.

Table A:
Belina: Paladin 1 (Archer)
Illirio: Evoker 1
Timmon: Monk 1
Andrew: Inquisitor 1
Hung Dong: Paladin 1

Table B:
Folium: Fighter/Wizard 2 (Archer)
Toodles: Cleric 1
Trishadow: Rogue 1
Aurum: Time Oracle 1

Expected start: probably December 6th

Great. DM, anything you need from us before then to get started? Backgrounds, how our group got together, etc? Or are we ready to rock and roll?

Thanks Illirio, you are all members of the Pathfinder Society, you will meet when you get your assignment and we will do an introduction round then.

Can everyone (including those for table B) hop over to the discussion thread and post the information I asked for there? That way I know everyone who signed in is still there.

Silver Crusade

Ok--let's hope someone at Table 1 has a wand of CLW. We probably have three that can use them.

Silver Crusade

Hi everyone! I'd be interested if there's a spot left :) I have various characters at lvl 2: druid, witch or Oracle/Paladin.

Dark Archive

If a spot is still open, I'm interested in joining. Brand new Bloodrager

Dark Archive

Hi I'm bringing Zobmaggle Ronk a melee-focused alchemist with a wand of CLW.

He's not very accustomed to civilized society, but not in a party-fouling way.

And those are the last three spots!

Zinou, Korug, Zobmaggle are all in.

Table A:
Belina: Paladin 1 (Archer)
Illirio: Evoker 1
Timmon: Monk 1
Andrew: Inquisitor 1
Hung Dong: Paladin 1
Zinou: something level 2

Table B:
Folium: Fighter/Wizard 2 (Archer)
Toodles: Cleric 1
Trishadow: Rogue 1
Aurum: Time Oracle 1
Korug: Bloodrager
Zobmaggle: Alchemist

Expected start: probably December 6th

Recruitment closed!

Silver Crusade

Sounds good

Note to self: if we have any drop-outs DM Jelly would like to join, he send me a PM

One spot opened on table A, Low tier. First one to post here gets it!

Silver Crusade

I am here. claiming my own spot sorry

Thanks Belina! Recruitment closed again.

Recruiting is reopened for a replacement on table A.

We are about to start scenario 2 and will do 3 eventually.

Looking for a martial melee character, lvl 1 or 2. We have not been quick with the first scenario, which partly was caused by the difficulties that the group had with combats.

The Exchange

I am available. 2 XP so I will level up after the next scenario.

I am martial and melee but not particularly tanky, so feel free to cast a wider net if that's what you're looking for.

Edit: @GM, I am Yagi Mi in GM Debug's Trial by Machine (6-01) with you. Don't know if that's important either way, but I thought I would mention it for full disclosure.

Grand Lodge

is level 3 too high?

fighter 1/rogue (knife master) 2

2 kukri wielding melee

Jinhong and Fronar, I asked the players in table A to give their opinion. If I have not heard back tomorrow (CET) I will pick one of you.

Jinhong: thanks for letting me know, I do not mind. In PbP it is bound to happen that a gm in one game is a player in another.

The players have given their opinion, which is that either one of you would be good.

Given that most characters are level 1 I prefer Jinhong. This is purely based on my opinion that a lvl 3 can easily outshine lvl 1's.

Jinhong, please post your PFS info in the discussion thread (PFS ID, faction, day job roll) and make your way into the gameplay thread

Finally, can you include your perception and initiative modifiers on the map page

The Exchange

Thanks, everyone. I'll try not to die too much. It's bad for business.

@GM, I'm thinking of revamping Jinny with a new archetype. I'd prefer to do it now (as in, within the next 48 hours) but I can easily wait for the end of the current scenario. Would you be okay with that?

Go ahead and do it now.

Grand Lodge

grats. enjoy.

The Exchange

Thanks, Fronar, and good luck in your travels.

@GM re-archetype complete, please let me know if you see anything amiss.
