I'd be interested in this if I can get it instead of the normal version as part of my subscription. Is this possible?
(Edit: gonna call CS and see what they say about it. Will report back with more info)
(Edit 2: just spoke with Diego, this is unfortunately not possible. If you want it, you'll need to order it separately. You can cancel the RPG sub if you only want this version, but then you miss out on the PDF and charter tag. I guess I'm getting two copies...)

Howdy everyone,
I see that skizzerz has updated his post, and I wanted to chime in to verify. The Core Rulebook Limited Edition is NOT part of the subscription and the copy your subscription generates cannot be upgraded to the Limited Edition. If you want the Limited Edition you will need to place an order for it. We can cancel your subscription so you don't get the regular version. Just let us know through email, by making a thread in the customer service forum, or giving us a call at 425-250-0800 between 10am and 5pm pacific time, Monday through Friday.
The product description and store blog are being updated with clearer language regarding this.

I would be happy to pre-order, but the thing that would make this version a collectable (for me) would be signatures from the staff, especially those who actually worked on it. That can only happen if I can take delivery at Gen Con. I'm assuming it will not be available prior to Thursday, 10am.
Can we take delivery of this specific item at Gen Con?

Uhh, but doing that means we'd still have to shell out another $10 USD for the PDF.

Two copies of the core rulebook isn't a bad thing anyway, so might as well.

Hello Everyone,
GenCon pickup is only for subscription items and this is not a subscription item. Pre orders for the Limited Edition cannot be set for GenCon pickup.
As for whether we will have them available for purchase at the show, that depends on pre order sales. So, subject to availability.
I'm also with the camp of customers that want a sub so we can get the pdf but want this version. It's easy enough to just order this copy and then start a Starfinder sub afterwards, but we would still miss out on getting the pdf when the book ships.
Is there any chance we can get this copy AND the pdf?

Mid August, probably (they haven't yet announced the exact shipping window for next month.
When they do the dates and so forth will probably be in this thread.
Steve Geddes |
I'm betting first week in August. :-)
Yeah, I suspect the subscription shipping process will begin then. However, I seem to remember them "shipping" the GenCon orders first, then the subscription shipments and then preorders (like this one). So I figure this book is likely to go out around mid August if you're a non-subscriber.
I'm definitely just guessing though. :)

I like this edition and ordered it, though for some odd reason I didn't see an estimated cost for shipping?
In my pre-order it's just the 79,99 from the book, and it's located in my sidecart with the first issue of the Starfinder AP.
When can I expect to see an estimate cost for the shipping?
Or will it be a surprise when it's being charged?
Steve Geddes |
You'll get an email a few days before it's charged (so you can check you're getting what you want and know what the cost will be). If you don't want to make any changes, you'll be charged a short while later (and get a second email then).
This is where they'll announce timeframes and such for August. I'd keep an eye on this thread.

Yeah, I found the thread, but was unaware of the way the costs would be made clear, as all my previous purchases were things that weren't preorders.
Thanks for the info!

No worries.
If you want an estimate in the meantime, you can place the things in your sidecart that will be shipping (this and the first AP instalment, by the look of your tags). Then you can click through the order process to the second tab and the various shipping options will be displayed for the order.
Then you can go back and take them out of your shopping cart and wait til August, when it will all happen for real.

Well, now that you got sad about that, I am not sure if the Deluxe CRB was English by Paizo or was that a special edition by one of translating distributors. I just am 99% sure that I did hold a faux leather Patfhfinder CRB in my tentacle-straps :)

That was from our German partner, Ulisses Spiele; you can see it here.
We did actually print a tiny, tiny quantity of gold-foiled Core Rulebook and Bestiary Special Editions in 2009—fewer than 100 copies each—but we didn't sell them. Most of them went to employees, and we contributed a few to charity auctions. You can read about them here and see them here.

Oooo! I didn't know about the gold foil edition Bestiary.

Well, with $79,99 for the book and $22,99 for the AP you qualify for the $10 discount on shipping, so it'll be only like $45-ish :P.
That said, I fully expect to be paying around 200 euro for this order, due to extra charges from VAT and customs, but I've resisted spending anything on the steam sales, so I have most of my gaming budget set aside for this (and some extra from the backpay of my raise).
