Hello Everyone,

GenCon pickup is only for subscription items and this is not a subscription item. Pre orders for the Limited Edition cannot be set for GenCon pickup.

As for whether we will have them available for purchase at the show, that depends on pre order sales. So, subject to availability.

I'm also with the camp of customers that want a sub so we can get the pdf but want this version. It's easy enough to just order this copy and then start a Starfinder sub afterwards, but we would still miss out on getting the pdf when the book ships.

Is there any chance we can get this copy AND the pdf?

How much of d20 Future and Star Wars d20 are OGL? There's a lot in them that I wouldn't mind seeing Paizofied.

D20 Future was part of D20 Modern and is in fact part of the D20 Modern SRD. I know because I utilized a lot of it last year trying to cobble together a space/sci-fi game and setting for my group. I had been inspired by Killjoys, Dark Matter, and Firefly, so there was absolutely no magic and I didn't want any magic. That said, I was looking forward to this when I heard it and now that I find out that there's going to be Adventure Paths and real support for it...? I can't wait. I always found that to be one of the great shortcomings of D20 Modern: no real support for it.

Star Wars D20, though... I highly doubt much - if any - of that is OGL.

It's okay. I wasn't blown away by the game, but the mechanics are decent, characters aren't too hard to manage. The rule book isn't amazing, it could have done a much better job at organization. A few rules are important and hidden away in random places.

I didn't find the rules themselves that dark or gritty. You have to do more than just add Insanity and Corruption (which are basically just different kinds of Hit Points).

Once you learn the rules, the game plays very quickly and is fairly smooth.

Rules by themselves of any game aren't going to be dark and gritty; that's what the setting is for, and the default setting of Shadow of the Demon Lord is dark and gritty. The adventures that are out for it (on DTRPG) can be pretty intense, at least in my opinion. Then there's Tales of the Demon Lord, the campaign that has the players trying to stop the end of the world.

Personally, I love the game and setting. However, I will admit it does have some flaws. The wording in some places was confusing at first, and a few rules aren't grouped where they should be.

I enjoy the character creation. It can be pretty fun. With my group, I oversaw the creation, reading out the items for corresponding rolls for my players. They enjoyed the randomness and it helped them think up backgrounds on the fly for all the random stuff coming at them, trying to fit it all together. Once or twice we did a reroll when something just didn't mesh well. The overall theme of the setting is pretty grim, but there's quite a few funny Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the rules, references to things ranging from things like Princess Bride to things like the Dresden Files and Discworld. The recently released Terrible Beauty sourcebook includes rules for shapechangers and among the possible forms is 'Rat of unusual size.'

I've had the opportunity to run the game twice. Some of my players had trouble grasping some things, like how the Retreat action is useful. I couldn't understand how they couldn't grasp the usefulness of being able to move away from an opponent (albeit at half speed) without triggering a free attack. They finally got it, so hopefully the next time I run things will be smoother.

I'm curious about the Goblins Fight! class deck and if the characters in it will be goblins. Sooooo hoping they're goblins.

Ship, fleet, Cohort, and maybe even Mythic Path need to be added.

I'd like to go on record as saying that I'd love some foil/hologram promo cards for PACG. And that I'd probably try Roadfinder Adventure Card Game: Mommy's Mask.

I counted the cards in my deck and came up with 119, which would make me question my memory of whether or not my missing card fell to the floor if I hadn't searched for it. I seem to have everything else BUT that card, after checking that list.

I noticed the villains that summon others, like the Matron. But I'm still missing Secret of Mancatcher Cove.

I opened the box to look at the cards (thankfully not packed with character add-on pack cards) and was going through the scenarios, ships, locations, and villains when I came across a villain I didn't notice mentioned on any scenario. I go back to check and I find that I'm missing the card for The Secret of Mancatcher Cove. I looked through all the other cards and double check my surroundings to be sure it didn't fall to the floor or something to no result. Is anybody else missing that or any other card?

I'd like to join as well. Jester David and I work well as a team.

I mean... d20 is OGL, why not put together a d20 magazine and cover the spectrum? Or, heck, why not a magazine that looks at all rpgs?

I would SO be sold on that kind of magazine put out by the Paizo gang.
