Hopefully the last two classes go easy.

LOL. But had I known what a pain it would have been I might not have.. ;-(

This will be the first Game I update both tables and all open points on character creation for the new Sith.

They went a bit easier but killed Sunday night.

I am back to regular posting now and intend to try and cycle through ALL games no later than Friday.

Yeah, I can see that many taking that long. I may have a problem myself... I may have fallen in love with the idea of not 2 b as a character. I'm kind of on the fence about just dropping Phaedra and combining the two in to one droid.

Go for it, I want you to play what interests you! :-)

No, I'm keeping it the way it is. Otherwise I will be at this all year.

Sorry guys, I'm beat, my plans for tomorrow were cancelled so I'll be able to get to this first when I get home from work (no wife no kid tomorrow). Thank you all for your continued patience.

I plan to bring in the new Sith tomorrow under a separate post. You will both be starting on Coruscant, let me know if you want to have a connected background or not.

The new Sith are approved. Updates (finally!) now.

Gunnar, if you're planning to switch to another character, I'd actually suggest someone at least passingly similar to the current character. The one place our current group is really lacking is in actual use of the Force; Rennah and Errin are Force Sensitive, but neither of them actually have Force Powers. Looking at the group currently, we've got an other decent setup other than the lack of Force utility.

  • Garrett: Garrett has long-range combat locked down, and will only continue to get better at it as time goes on. My next few feats I end up getting access to will get me attack/damage boosts as well, and I may take a level of Bounty Hunter to grab the ability to drop targets even farther on the condition track. I've also got hacking capacity, mechanical skills, and sneaking around to toy with as well.

  • Errin: Errin is also a good long-range combatant, while being more resilient than Garrett is. She doesn't have some of the utility abilities Garrett has, but can still aid on Mechanics checks easily and is good at surviving in harsher environments as well as being an even better lookout. She also does have Use the Force, and while she has no actual Force Powers, the skill itself has a lot of basic useful abilities.

  • Rennah: Rennah is a good melee combatant, for starters. While she doesn't have Block she does have Deflect, and she can also aid on Use Computer and Pilot checks pretty well. Again, while she doesn't have Force Powers, Use the Force has a variety of useful things it can do even without them. Her biggest draw is being able to fight up close, which the rest of us are decisively not anywhere near as good at doing.

  • Kaldo: Kaldo has a smattering of skills that fill in the gaps for the party, as well as having talents and abilities that make him a great pilot for our ship. He's no slouch on the ground and can keep up in a fight, but he really shines in ship combat.

Looking at it, our real missing area is still Force powers, although another melee characters wouldn't hurt either. Perhaps another Imperial Knight, more focused on the Force than lightsaber combat? Or a Force Adept who works with the Empire for some reason? Another useful thing might be someone with Treat Injury, as if I remember it's much more useful than Heal was in standard d20 games.

  • Force Based Organizations and Choices IN case you don't want to do a traditional Jedi. The "Jedi" class would be the basis of the build.

You can multi-class with Scout though as that seems to be the class that entices you as well.

I am fine with healing role honestly, if I could find a fun way to make someone a bit more shady imperial knight with a some lightsaber and heal and get a better build then gunnar I would welcome the help. My system fu sucks in this game

Garrett you got this one or should I do some digging? :-)

As busy as I like to think I am, you're definitely busier. I can give him a hand. I need to finish updating all my stuff for the night, but I can start looking and give him some suggestions tomorrow. I have a few thoughts already, but let me ask a few questions and I can see what I can find.

So, the Imperial Knights are both an organization and an actual PrC. You could be a member of the tradition without actually taking the class, or be just a force-user affiliated with the Empire. The actual Imperial Knight class is very melee combat focused (and is good at it), but isn't the best for a more Force-focused build. It is possible to heal with the Force, although it damages yourself. If you can give me a rundown of your priorities in terms of what you want the character to do best, I can give you some suggestions. Force Adept has a talent that allows you to replace Treat Injury with Use the Force; you could take that and Vital Transfer to be able to do more healing when necessary at the cost of some of your own HP, and Treat Injury can repair that to a degree.

So, just let me know in which order you want to prioritize things:

  • Lightsaber Combat
  • Force Powers
  • Healing
  • Anything else you want to be able to do

From that, I can give you some ideas. If anyone else wants to change/improve their builds, assuming the GM is alright with it, I'd be perfectly happy to help you guys as well. I have a lot of free time and I like this kind of stuff, so let me know.

Plus you have a MUCH greater system Mastery than I do with respect to SAGA, much like Phntm888!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd chime in here as well. If you want some decent builds, check out the old Order 66 Podcast. They construct and deconstruct classes pretty well on that show (I got my build inspiration from there). They've now moved on to FFG's Star Wars, but their old episodes are still up and available and there's more than 200 of them, packed with good stuff.

It makes up for the fact that my understanding of Vampire: The Masquerade is basically non-existent.

Hah, don't worry, as we progress I'll build in little tutorials as a how to play as needed. I've been walking CariMac through systems in the V20 Dark Ages game and she's getting the hang of it. It's a simple system just involves some measure of dice rolling that bogs down a bit. I toyed with passive resistances in the past but I find that it gives more powerful characters too much of an edge...

Lol, give me a gargoyle or a samedi with passive resistances, I would love not having to roll all those dice.

My twenty years of running vampire and system fu in that game should be more then helpful for you Garrett.

    Scarab Sages

Also I just dont think cute fits in, but if I must I will play some crazy force powerful fluffy... I simply want to be useful in combat a bit more, able to heal the party including the robot if he gets to a place he cant do it for himself, and do more then sit around and nod in 9/10s of the game aka be useful in most situations.

As we are no longer in PvP land I may split these two groups out into two new threads!

I'll do that tomorrow and link to the relevant threads at the top of the new pages. The night got away from me a bit so I'll be updating these games tomorrow in each of their respective new pages and I'll link from here to there.

Alright, I'll leave this open for a week or so till everyone migrates to the new threads then I'll mark this one inactive. I will link the new threads back to here in case you need to reference back.

Let me know if you need any further help to get a new PC up and running Gunnar!
