Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Mundarion spends his turn sheathing his sword and readying his longbow.

Female Githyanki Direlock (Fear Eater) //Warder (Zweihander Sentinel) 6; HP 51/41; AC 18/T 12/ FF 16; Fort +7, Ref +5, Will +7; CMB +7, CMD 19; Per +10, Init +4; Spd 30 ft.; Terror Pool 1/6

Yessai holds her position and dire zone inimica.

Ready Action: attack if it comes within reach.

Reposted initiative order:
Gemheart--19
Mundarion--11
Yessai--7+
Ice golems: 7-
De--6

De'arv'ki's flask hits its mark easily. The gargoyle's body starts to boil, and, like the previous one, it appears to become sluggish.
Gemheart strikes it as well. It's wounded, but still has a lot of fight left in it.

The gargoyle once again rains hail upon you, but this time the hail is a mix of ice and boiling water!
on Yessai: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

on Mundarion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

on Gemheart: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

on De: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Apparently boiling doesn't do very much for its accuracy, as they all miss.
De's turn again.

De'arv'ki?

Someone else can please take De's turn.

De'Arv'Ki fires another bolt at the frosty creature
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Won't even bother posting damage... >_<

De'arv'ki misses. However, the aftereffect from her flask harms the golem!

GM only:
Damage done to G1: 16
2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
Slowed for 7 more rounds.

Gemheart's turn.

Forgeborn map Armorist(Symbiotic Knight) / Incanter 6 || HP 53/60; g

Still wary of the stairs, Gemheart shoots once more.

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 vs ranged touch AC
fire: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Mundarion shoots at the golem with his longbow.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Both Gemheart and Mundarion strike true, and chunks of ice fall off the gargoyle.
Yessai

Yessai?

Someone else may take Yessai's turn...

Sorry. ;p

Yessai can only watch, blade gripped tight as her companions rain missiles at the gragoyle.

As before, Ready Action - attack gargoyle if it comes in reach...

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Didn't we get you a shortbow?

Yep, you did get a shortbow.

Yup, but I dropped it...

The gargoyle clumsily floats towards the group, still high above the ground...

De's turn.

De?

Someone else may take De's turn. I hope Soth is okay in real life...

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Holidays can always be somewhat disruptive. Hopefully there's no real problem.

That's what I thought, but then De said holidays changed little for him. It could just be a failed internet connection (broken router or something).

See discussion
De'Arv'Ki loads another bolt and fires at the gargoyle.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

De strikes the gargoyle again.
Back to Gemheart.

Forgeborn map Armorist(Symbiotic Knight) / Incanter 6 || HP 53/60; g

Gemheart continues his barrage of flaming energy bolts!

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 vs ranged touch AC
fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

If the gargoyle is still functional, Mundarion will take another shot at it.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Both Gemheart and Mundarion strike true. Chunks of ice sublimate off of the gargoyle as it heats. It is nearly destroyed, but still functioning...
Yessai

Yessai? Are ya distracted by RPGSS:)?

Sorry guys. Kinda. And job hunting.

Yessai can't really do much - can't Aid Another and isn't real interested in retrieving her bow.

Maintain Ready Action to slice Garg if it approaches…

Still sputtering, the gargoyle descends over Mundarion, then comes crashing down with a bang!
falling/crushing damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2) = 8
The initial impact wounds both Mundarion and the gargoyle itself. As it lands it also unleashes a shock wave:
shock wave (affects everyone): 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5) = 15 DC 15 reflex for half.

With a crash, chunks of ice fly apart, and the gargoyle melts into a puddle. The Grand Staircase is now free of its guardians!
Well, that didn't exactly happen the way I expected it to. Oh well. Combat over. You all can level up your characters to 5, now.

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Reflex save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Mundarion takes 23 points of damage total and collapses with -5 hit points.

Female Githyanki Direlock (Fear Eater) //Warder (Zweihander Sentinel) 6; HP 51/41; AC 18/T 12/ FF 16; Fort +7, Ref +5, Will +7; CMB +7, CMD 19; Per +10, Init +4; Spd 30 ft.; Terror Pool 1/6

Can I ask how you thought this combat would go?

Wee haa! Level UP!!!

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Hopefully somebody will stop me from bleeding to death. :-0

Level UP, Level UP, Lev…. ohsh*t, 'darion!!!….

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Yess takes the brunt of the shockwave to her legs which almost drops her completely. She staggers to Mundarion's side, and tries to operate Thomas' wand.

UMD: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Forgeborn map Armorist(Symbiotic Knight) / Incanter 6 || HP 53/60; g

reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 vs DC 15

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Healing done by wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Mundarion is now functional with 4 hit points. Better make that 8 because he will gain another 4 when he levels.

Finally found the receipt :D
Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Alright, damage taken, time to level! non-caster magic crafter, coming up...

The Head of Vyrellis grimaces as the gargoyle shatters, before saying
"Hrmph, thou did well to survive that attack. Thy passage to the second floor ith clear."

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Mundarion checks the staircase again to see if the trap is actually disarmed.

Perception check: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34

They are. The second and third flights of stairs are also trapped, though. However, since you are not under time pressure, it's probably safe to assume you can disarm those traps too by taking 10.
Really, the traps were there to make melee combat on the stairs more dynamic, but y'all bypassed them by only using ranged attacks from the ground.

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Mundarion will make his way slowly and carefully to the top of the stairs taking 10 on his disarm attempts.

Forgeborn map Armorist(Symbiotic Knight) / Incanter 6 || HP 53/60; g

i knew it was a good idea to give gemheart a ranged attack, even if it was only 1d6

Slightly bemused at her lack of effectiveness, Yess picks up her bow and stows it before waiting for Dee and Gemheart to ascend. Then she checks behind them as is her wont before following after…

De'Arv'Ki follows closely behind Mondarion, ready to assist him if need be.

Sorry guys, work was crazy yesterday and today. I'll have time for a more substantive post tomorrow.

The group reaches the top, where sits a gargantuan stone door etched with runes.

linguistics, 15:
The runes don't actually say anything, they are gibberish. The symbols may originate from Limbo or another very chaotic plane.

There is a gap between the door and ceiling, a few feet high.

"This," whispers the Head of Vyrellis,
"must lead to the Sundered Temple. Methinks--"

the elven head is interrupted by another voice, this one releasing an aria:
Oh wondrous is whichever gods
Did bring this bunch and free a poor sod
When I had been trapped between the strange,
And the icy gargoyle's range
Now I can rejoin my cousins
After so many days, many dozens!

A harpy, this one with blood-red wings and eyes, swoops out from the crack above the door.

Forgeborn map Armorist(Symbiotic Knight) / Incanter 6 || HP 53/60; g

Gemheart follows when the all-clear is given for traps.

Male Elf Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 | HP 25/25 | AC 17, T 13, FF 14

Linguistics check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Garbage RNG. Does the harpy look like it's going to attack?
