Spellcraft Check item 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18+13 includes +2 racial bonus and +2 for Gemheart ' s assist.

Mundarion says, "We've got a +1 Cold Iron Bastard Sword, a wand of Mist sight and a scroll of Bull's Strength. I'm not sure what the necklace does."
Mundarion
Mundarion says, "Unless somebody has a better idea, let's gather all the gold and other valuable coins we can find as we head back down the stairs. We will take Yessai with us and visit the Sahuagin. Hopefully they will be able to direct us to someone who can heal her."
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Scrounging around for every last coin and gem reveals the equivalent of 1100 gold pieces. However, there diamond dust and magic item crafting components totaling 3000 gold pieces in value (i.e., counting for 3000 gold pieces worth of crafting cost.)
"Alive,"
the head of Vyrellis comments,
"but unable to function. Methinks she shan't be of much use until she is cured. If I do recall, thy sahuagin friend may be a divine caster. If I am wrong there art others in the Pyramid."
Mundarion
Mundarion gathers all the stuff up and splits it with the functioning party members. He says,"Hopefully we have enough to trade with somebody to get Yessai cured. Otherwise she's just a somewhat bony couch to sit on. Let's go see the Sahuagin."
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Awesome, I'm a couch!
Well, don't sell the bastard sword on my account. I'll likely want to use it if I ever restore… Won't be as badass as a Large Bastard Sword, but nothing quite says badass like "I hit"… :p
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Getting back to the sahuagin's chamber is not difficult. When you arrive, the blood-harpy you saw come from the second floor is there. One of the other harpies, along with one of the sahuagin, are missing, however.
"By Corellon's ears, you have returned! What has happened to you? Especially you?"
The sahuagin leader exclaims, gesturing to Yessai.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai formulates a long winded and bitingly sarcastic exposition of events since leaving this very chamber. And keeps it to herself. Because she can.
Mundarion
Mundarion says, "We would greatly appreciate it if you could help her. We can't just leave her laying around somewhere in her current condition, carrying or dragging her everywhere with us makes even less sense, and as a comrade in arms we have a duty to try to get her healed."
"Even if we do enjoy the relative peace and quiet. Besides, as far as couches go she's not that bad." Mundarion thinks.

"Paralyzed? I may have an appropriate scroll."
She gestures to another sahuagin, who dives under the water to look for something. Within a few minutes he emerges, holding a scroll, and hands it to his leader.
"By Corellon's grace I shall cure your Githyanki with this scroll. Perhaps you ought to consider giving us something in return?"
Smiling at Mundarion, the sahuagin shaman holds her scroll, ready to use it on Yessai.
"Although...you did rescue her," motioning to the blood harpy. "I suppose we owe this to you."
"Loosen thy muscles, and awaken!"
She reads the scroll, and speaks firmly, and at once Yessai's paralysis is cured.
"Now, there is another matter which concerns me gravely," she says. A harpy, (the non-blood-harpy who remains), interrupts instead, in a short recitative song:
Whilst you were gone,
others came along.
Scaled people, kins of dragons,
descend upon these waters, not very nice!
We fought them off, but for a price.
My sister, they slew,
My fellow sahuagin, they captured as they flew!
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai coughs a few times, hoping against hole she does not expectorate slime, ooze or anything similarly gelatinous.
She thanks the harpies and sahuagins, and her allies for saving her. She then relates the party's coversation/meeting with the Elf and Dragonborn, and describing the pair to the harpies/sahuagins, asks if they were involved in the aforementioned assault.
Finally, she asks to see the recovered bastard sword, and crouched on the ground inspecting it very carefully manages to ...fall asleep.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
"We know of the dragonborn you describe."
The sahuagin's expression is sullen. "Those two were not a part of the most recent attack, but they are part of the same tribe. You were wise not to trust them."
The magic bastard sword resizes itself as Yessai holds it, growing to match her preferred weapon size.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
"There were six of their tribe who attacked us, three dragonborn, three mammals. They fled to the east. Their tribe controls the northeast portion of this floor."
"I accept that you may give us minimal aid, for you have chosen to seek Karavakos himself, which is a great undertaking. Remember, though, that if we are weakened, it will be harder for us to give thee aid in the future."
Gemheart
"Yeah, we should kill those guys though. Just because we let them get away without a fight doesnt mean they should be messing with other folks."
Gemheart looks to the winged creature and the remaining sahuagin, "Do you know what they wanted? Why capture your allies?"
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
"I do not know precisely what they wanted from us," responds the sahuagin leader.
"Since they arrived in the Pyramid, they have been pushing to capture territory from other factions. It is possible they have not the hope or desire to return to their former lives outside the Pyramid, and so seek to become a powerful force inside.
As for why they captured our allies, perhaps they will attempt to use my companion's skills or knowledge against the arboreans or another faction. The harpies are skilled at protective magic, perhaps they want to extort protection from my companion. I do not know."
Looking down at Yessai, she remarks
"Your Githyanki seems unusually tired."
Mundarion
Mundarion replies, "Yes, she does seem tired. Which I find to be strange because she was literally unable to do anything for the better part of a day."
Mundarion shrugs. He goes on to say, "Be that as it may, we may need to remain here and rest until she can go on."
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
"Snoring" was meant to simulate unconsciousness/-1 HP. Which seemed to allow a quck comment and then "grab a sword". Ok. Will wake up.
Gemheart
ready. Am i correct in saying our current objective is to take care of these dragonborn? or are we doing something else? I get the impression these guys' coup is something we should stop in its infancy.
also, i have Craft Magic Arms and Armor, and we just came into some loot. maybe i could trade some of it with the guys we just spoke with, in exchange for magical reagents to make some arms or armor? if anyone wants anything. I know Yessai just got a sword, but someone else maybe..?
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
I thought Dee could craft stuff too.
Yessai merely wants to heal to full capacity - whether via resting or using our CLW wand. Who has it currently? And how many charges has it left?
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
Nah, found out that i'd need to wait for ages to be able to craft. A better crossbow would be good, but isn't a priority. Lets go get some lizards
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
CLW wand question? Anyone know how many charges it has? i guess I'll just search through the thread. ;p We were trying to rest up on the giant stairway, seeig as resting is a "free" method of healing in a place where we need not eat or drink or age. Happily, this place is a living dungeon, so holing up is never quite safe. Thus the need for the wand. And once it has been expended, a healer! ;)

"The shortest path to the dragonborn's territory is to head to the east of the entry pit, then north."
Since that seems to be where y'all want to go...
The entry pit and its surrounding room are much as they were when you left. The ettin is still nowhere to be seen.
The corridor to the east ends in a T intersection. To the south you can see a green wall similar to those in the room where you met the arboreans, possibly indicating that that is another of the arborean's rooms.
To the north is a stairway leading down, with a stone door at the bottom.
A map of the layout of the parts of the Pyramid you have explored is linked to in the campaign info tab. Red/purple/blue are stairs.
Mundarion
Perception check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
Mundarion gestures towards the stone door and says, "There's running water down there."
He heads down the stairs trying to be quiet and checking for traps.
Stealth check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Perception check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Yessai is not ready. Having -1 HPs plus a full night's rest. So 4 HP.
A thread search seems to indicate the wand had 38 charges left, though that could be in error.
CLW x5: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 6, 2, 4, 4) + 5 = 28 +4 = 32 HP.
Yessai also stands ready.
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Sorry for the delay...
The door opens to reveal an irregular room at the bottom of the stairs, with water five feet deep and several more stairways leading out. The water flows in circles around the room, though what causes its current is not clear.
There are four creatures you can easily see: two ordinary green-skinned lizardfolk swimming about, and two enormous black-scale lizardfolk. All four have larger fins than typical lizardfolk, and seem better adapted to water. The greenscales each carry spears, while the blackscales are not armed with manufactured weapons.
The closer greenscale, upon seeing the group enter, growls in draconic
Map:
The pink is where you all are, the light blue is water, red/purple are stairs as usual, grey is flat and dry ground.
Mundarion
Perception check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
Mundarion says to the rest of the group in elven, "There are large pipes scattered around in the floor that could suck people in. One is right at the bottom of this stairway."
Turning to the greenscale Mundarion replies in Draconic, "You know, since my friends and I came to the pyramid we have only fought when we were attacked. Yet everywhere we go people are accusing us of being troublemakers. This gives me the impression that people are spreading lies about us. Now, we are here to track down some real troublemakers. We are trying to find people who went into an area that wasn't theirs and killed some people and kidnapped others. Last we heard they had headed back this way. What do you know about that?"
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Yessai struggles to notice anything, and merely nods to Mundarion that she understands.
Listening for an answer in Draconic, she keeps an eye on the doorway they entered.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Deranged_Maniac_Beth
Sorry for the delay, the only free time I had yesterday was when the site was down.
One of the blackscales responds to Mundarion
The blackscale is interrupted as another greenscale swims into view, from the southeast corner of the room you cannot see from the entrance. She swims between the blackscales and speaks to them and the group at the same time:
Turning back to Mundarion, she asks
I have updated the map to indicate where the pipe traps Mundarion saw are, as well as the newly visible lizardfolk.
