Brought together by fate and fortune, four companions set out with a caravan led by the mysterious Almah Roveshki to reclaim the battle market town of Kelmarane.
This whole module has been telegraphing Dashki's treachery from the start. That makes me think it's a red herring and that Dashki's actually just misunderstood.
I guess we'll see what comes from this midnight raid though, won't we?
I'm also extremely curious about Garavel. He was always so stoic and absolutely emotionless, at least until our late night conversation with Almah after we encountered Beshvi, that I was beginning to suspect he'd been dominated or otherwise enchanted.

He's supposed to be absolutely emotionless. Him slamming his fist on the door was a mistake on my part, but I'm pretending he did it as a calculated maneuver, not out of emotion.
There's a very specific reason for his stoicism - it's quite interesting.
That is one thing which I will openly admit that you absolutely accel at as a DM - communicating subtle details. I've seen especially in this AP, with the pugwampis, Dashki, Garavel - you've gotten across more than just their dialogue, but rather their behaviors. It makes the game very compelling for me, because I know things are going on in the background and I want to find out what it is!
While I'm on the topic of things you do outstandingly well behind the screen, nobody roleplays birds better than you. You are the best. In the world.
I am finding that I appreciate each of our different strengths as DMs more and more as I get older.
My inspiration for birds came from seeing Ryan Stiles imitate one in Whose Line is it, Anyway?. Thank you for the encouragement. Communicating subtleties is something that I make an effort to do, rather than just telling you outright or after the fact. Personally, I get more satisfaction out of it and I'm glad that you do, too.
So... when Ahnekhet finds out about what Siraaj just heard, I think he will almost hate Dashki more than he does gnolls. Almost. Enough to give me pause when considering whether to take fey or human as his next favored enemy.
In all seriousness though, I am also strongly considering having his next favored enemy selection be influenced by Vardishal. Would there be a suitable enemy type that Vardishal would have encountered frequently in that ancient war?

Outsiders. Of the lawful, evil, or fire variety.

Well, summon jared i didn't work, so I figured I'd go as big as I could go. And it's not beyond my level, as I traded in the ability to whistle or poop in exchange for it. =P
