Kalaron is updated and ready for the next round.

![]() |

I can't remember, what all can we buy without a chronicle/Prestige Points?
Potions of CLW?
Masterwork items?
Special materials?

![]() |

You can purchase any 'commonly available item' (assuming you have the coin).
These are defined as:
Any mundane (non-magical) item other then firearms (this includes special materials and masterwork et al)
Any scroll or potion of a 1st level spell
Any +1 weapon or +1 armor
A wayfinder (and even get a half price discount on this)

![]() |

It's in the guide.
All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter
6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized
items. This does not include equipment made from
dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from
the other special materials, such as alchemical silver
and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on
page 154 of the Core Rulebook). All mundane (completely
nonmagical) weapons, armor, equipment, and
alchemical gear found in any other source that is legal
for play are considered always available.
• +1 weapons (2,000 gp + 300 for the masterwork weapon
cost + item cost)
• +1 armor (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor cost
+ item cost)
• +1 shields (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor
cost + item cost)
• Potions and oils of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level
1st (50 gp or less)
• Scrolls of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level 1 (50 gp
or less)
• Wayfinder (50% discount—250 gp; see page 299 of The
Inner Sea World Guide)
Beyond the gear noted above, your character is restricted
to purchasing additional items from his accumulated
Chronicle sheets, or by capitalizing on his fame. Weapons,
armor, equipment, magic items and so on that are outside
of these lists are not available for purchase at any time.

On factions...it matters most for secondary goals since they took out the faction missions (although you can still do those for flavor) and like sickly said..there are some traits which are faction specific.
Also last year (and I assume this year again) there was a boon you got for each of your characters if they had played 3 scenarios in that year for 1 faction. And the boon you got depended on what the faction accomplished that year. Osirion got a bonus vs diseases since they spend time searching for a cure for their sick leader. Silver Crusade got a one time half strength smite evil since they fought against demons...stuff like that.

![]() |

Ya, sorry about that Revv.
given its a party of 3 fighters, a barbarian and a warpriest... not alot of skill points to spare on day jobs.
Sickly's rank in profession (miner) was for background (sadly barbarians are the only class that doesn't get profession as a class skill, boo!)

![]() |

This is all new to me, so pardon the questions.
If I didn't put a rank in a profession, I have no day job? So without a rank in a profession, no roll for extra $?
Also, I looked at some of the faction perks and was wondering about switching...
How does one switch, and did I lose the 1 prestige if I switch?

![]() |

oh, yeah that reminds me...I knew I was forgetting something to respond to. I could open a recruitment for a 6th dwarf..but that would most likely delay starting the game and might get swamped with people wanting to play....so only going to try that if you guys want that...and going to leave it up to you guys whom you're going to pick to join you then.

![]() |

There's only a few things that give you a dayjob roll, of the top of my head, any profession, any perform, any craft...you can get some more with stuff yo buy with prestige - vanities..so you can be a healer and use heal for dayjob
The extra gold is most of the time an extra 1-10 unless you happen to have one of those skills already (like an alchemist with craft alchemy, or a bard with perform)
Until lvl 2 I think you can switch/change anything (other then your name) for free..after that it will cost prestige to switch to another faction..but I can't remember how much..I think one/lvl. It should be in the guide.

![]() |

I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about this, but I just changed my faction, and under "Sessions" it still lists that I have 1 Prestige Point with my old faction.
Is it better for me to just go back to my old faction? Is there some way to keep that prestige point?

![]() |

You won't loose the prestige. It's not tied to faction. Let me know your new faction and I'll check if I can change it in the reporting.
Also..the online thing..it's fame (the total prestige you've ever earned) it can't handle anything else..so if you ever spend any..the online record keeping will never know about it. You'll have to keep your own records.

![]() |

I changed my faction to Qadira after looking into things a bit more.
I had picked Grand Lodge before, and under Sessions it says "Total for Grand Lodge 1"
Thanks!

![]() |

Changed your faction in the event report....not sure it will take hold though, so make sure to mention your faction to your GM's when you provide them with your pfs nr so they can report it to the right faction (it might default to grand lodge if you don't take an action to chance it during reporting)

I did buy 3 flasks of oil with swarms in mind...I think that AoE and skill monkey are our weak spots...
Yes, we should try to cover that with purchases, where we can.
Regardless, I think we've had 3 vote for going forward...I suggest we do!

![]() |

I see our true weak spot is an inability to identify stuff we find.
Only one of us (Kalaron) can detect magic, and he does not have spellcraft to identify them (assuming he makes the roll).
Perhaps convince Elliot to buy some masterwork thieves' tools? Then at least (with guidance) he can get to a 23 on opening locks and such if he take his time.
I had Sickly buy a skeleton key... which might work in a pinch.
Then we've always got Glorin's crowbar. =)
Also, healing. We're kind of a 'shock and awe' approach... which works fine, until we lose initiative or they're more then 40' away.

![]() |

Bought an extra bullseye lantern, 5 flasks of oil, 5 more of acid. I've also got 50' rope, a grappling hook, a crowbar, and a shovel.

![]() |

If Elliot wants to pick up MW thieves' tools, that could also help us with Sickly's skeleton key.
With all our oil and acid, we could hopefully do better with swarms.
Anything else we could do to help ID stuff?

![]() |

I coukd rebuild Kalaron into something else like a witch since he's still level one or maybe wizard.

![]() |

I don't know...his healing saved us on the last one. Obviously up to you, though.
But let's hurry. I'd like to either start, or get a recruitment announcement up for a last player ASAP.

![]() |

Only if you want to. We've got three fighters and a barbarian, so changing up the warpriest doesn't nearly bring us the versatility of some other possibilities. I think we're doing all right without battlefield control, but it's definitely a nice-to-have.
If we're missing something, I'd say it's a skill expert with some AoE capability... A bomber alchemist, perhaps. But our splash weapons should help with that.

![]() |

I think our warpriest is the one character we can't do without. Any of the rest of us could swap out.
That said, I think we had already agreed to move on as-is.

![]() |

Done. One rank in Spellcraft. lol
Ignore the Enginneering. That point is in Spellcraft.

![]() |

Sorry..babysit duty for my nephews this week..so slighty less time to spend on computer stuff (till Sunday btw) but I can still make my promised 1 post a day..just not the normal 6+) ;)
You guys can check in
here
And I'll get the game underway tommorow

![]() |

Considering this is a module....We did it pretty fast. :P

![]() |

The other 2 groups;
The humans are on the 4th floor just finished fighting the 3 troglodytes
The others just rescued Balenar
Going to close down this thread somewhere this weekend and put it on inactive so it won't clutter you guys active list
And this is a very short module, not like the one you're going to start now..which is about 3 times as long as a normal scenario
