Sandpoint is as it usually is. Fairly open, bustling with common sorts of people, and friendly. The gate into town still has its old mirror with the sign that says 'Welcome to Sandpoint! See yourself as we see you!'. There are people about of course, but the eye is immediately drawn to the colorful tents of a fair that's set up just outside town by the north gate.

Feel free to have whatever reason to be about that you like, or ask any questions about Sandpoint!

male human bard (archaeologist) 9

The tall, elderly man known as Dareon veritably skips along the road into the town, scholarly robes flapping in the wind and a wide grin on his face.

Finally, the chance to be on the road again! It's been so long, I'd almost forgotten what it's like to travel...What a free feeling.

Still, there's always the question...do I miss it?

"Come, Sydney! They say Sandpoint is a lovely little town, full of vibrant culture and people. Surely you won't object to testing this with a quick tour, perhaps a drink and a quick jaunt with a lady far too young for you? Oh wait, that's probably just me."

The old man lets out a loud and hearty laugh, before settling down again. "Don't worry though, I haven't forgotten why we're here. If you catch word of the missing scholar, just come find me."

Dareon walks with a short walking stick and a skipping stride. His hair is fully grayed but thick, and his clothing is fine without being particularly noticeable. He wears a wayfinder about his neck.

Do I have a contact in the city or somewhere I'm supposed to be to begin looking? If not, Dareon will start by heading to wherever passes for a guard barracks here.

Dareon is followed by a barrel-chested youth with sandy blonde hair and an easy, relaxed gait. "Sir, I wish you'd be more serious about this. We ARE on a missing persons investigation."

The boy carries a heavy bag and walks with a staff, despite the fact that he is far from being injured. To picture him using it as support is simply ridiculous. He is clad in traveling vestments over a chain shirt, and wears the golden holy Key of Abadar around his neck.

He absently itches one of the tattoos on his face, sad to have seen the magic wear out of them.

Standing in front of the sign with the mirrio stands an attractive young girl with brown hair in a pony tail and dirty clothes. but under the dirt one can tell those are not peasents clothes. she carries no weapons, wears leather armor apparently an attempt was made to hide the value of the armor (hiding any sign of nobility on the armor).

she appears to be looking at the mirror but it does seem odd that her positon she would not even see her face in the mirror. yet she still fixes her hair as though looking in it anyway.

as people walk by she glances in thier direction apparently having heard them before actually seeing them.

feeling that she is not being followed nor hounded by boys she moves on into the town trying to avoid other pedestians about the street.

Ok make when in doubt make an intro

Terra is attempting to navigate the streets occasionally bumping into people.

as she is walking either not paying attention or she actually cannot see him, she walks right into Sydney (literally).

ohfff, sorry, I,... she starts to say something then taks a coupel of steps back.
you better not be that boy from the other day, I told you No then and i haven't changed my mind!

"-Huh? Oh, I'm so sorry!" blubbers Sydney. Dropping a scroll, he bends quickly to pick it up, clumsily sticking it in a bag that looks far too small to contain the whole thing before looking apologetically at Vallterra. Smile on his face, Dareon steps into a tavern. He had left Sydney outside to wait for him, as the boy didn't like bars much.

Stepping up to the bar to order a drink (his favorite, the Black's Acid Breath), he notices a particularly large Ulfen man sulking at the bar, scratching at his face.

Dareon addresses him with an expansive stance and a wide grin. "Friend! What's got you so down that you've come to sulk in a bar on a festival day? Big guy like you, I'm sure you could absolutely DOMINATE at the hammer game."

F Human

Terra suddenly focuses in on the voice (having looking a bit off before)

she relaxes, Yeah I guess your right, you don't sound like him. I'm sorry, I'm V...Terra, just Terra She extends her hand but is off to the side instead of directly in front of him.

not your full name need to put that life behind you girl

I believe the fualt was mine, I really didn't see you there

Terra's eyes seem to be unfocused, like an old unhealed injury has left her vision impaired.

Just as an OOC side-note, you know that the clouded vision curse doesn't mean you can't see, it just means you can't see past a certain threshold, right?

Gently rotating Terra's stance to be facing him dead-on and taking her hand in a firm handshake, Sydney tries to smile. "Truly, it is my fault. The Master is always preaching knowledge and awareness of all, for it is only in that that one can effectively set things in their order."

During his little speech, Sydney's face takes on an inspired look and he looks up towards the heavens, a slight smile on his face. At Terra's question, however, he snaps out of it.

"I am here to assist the honorable Mister Whittlesay in a missing persons investigation of one of his colleagues. Well, and to get out and see the world for a bit. I've been pretty much just in the temple back home for the past few years... Mister Whittlesay said it'd be good for me to get out and about.

And you? What brings you to this charming little town?"

Nah, Red was his leftenant in the Absalom game. He'll wonder about Noro as well.

Huh? Wha? I... He tries to come up with a solid excuse for muddling himself and can't really surface one. Suddenly he guffaws at himself and smiles at the stranger. Y'gots a point. 't's a good day, eh? he slaps down some coin and indicates to the tender that Dareon's drink is on him.

What's'a hammer game?

Surely you've heard of the hammer game! Do they not have the hammer game here? The hammer game is a game in which a hammer is used to strike a simple catapult and launch a projectile. The person whose projectile flies the farthest, wins!"

Sydney yells over the stone wall, "I don't know what you're afraid of, little lady, but I'm sure that it isn't me! I didn't mean to alarm you, I was just curious about what was eating at you so badly!"

Very anxious, Sydney does a few little hops and paces back and forth, waiting for her answer. Seeing the alarmed expressions of nearby townspeople, he quietly and softly informs them that the situation is well in hand and that he's sure she's just upset.

"If you're in need of protection, I'm sure that I can arrange that for you! My professor is a good man, and if you're truly in trouble we can help you!"

If there's no answer inside of perhaps 30 seconds, Sydney will cast fly, rise over the wall, and begin scanning the crowds for Vallterra.

Obviously feeling somewhat absurd at the concept of someone mistrusting Mister Whittlesay, he says "Of course you can. Mister Whittlesay is a great man, you have nothing to fear from him. If you really require it, I can call upon Abadar, Master of the First Vault, to compel him into truthhood before he tells you that he won't hurt you. He'll be offended, but he'll get over it." Sydney laughs a little bit.

As a favor for a friend, and because I absolutely adore this module, I'm going to run a quick and dirty Harrowing Module. Here is the

Fluff:
Varisian fortune-tellers from across Golarion use the mystic harrow deck to read fate and predict the future, but few have ever mastered the mysterious harrow to such a degree as Sonnorae, a long-dead bard from the Age of Darkness. Fearing her collection of stories would be lost when she died, she created a demiplane within her own harrow deck to contain them. Over time, these stories took on lives of their own, and melded with the images on the cards themselves. But not all stories have happy endings, and the storykin who inhabit the Harrowed Realm have their own motivations and plots for power or even escape into the real world. When the PCs find themselves drawn into the Harrowed Realm in search of a disappeared scholar, they must use all their wits and steel to navigate the landscape and politics of this strange wonderland and make it home again.

And

The crunch:

Level 9
Core Races Preferred (any Paizo race allowed)
Any Paizo class / archetype EXCEPT GUNS
Level 9 Gold - 46,000
Two Traits (any)
Dice rolling to build, 4d6 drop the lowest. Any stat below 7 becomes a 7.

I'll be taking 4 people plus my RL friend I'm running this for - have some kind of background, but keep it vague. The adventure begins outside Sandpoint, because I know the area! But you won't be there long, so don't worry too much about connections and things, :)

I'm gettin' on a plane on Friday, so I'll pick characters when I land.

GM, what do you think of someone who's been trapped inside the deck for a while, who meets the group as they come in? A sort of madman/local guide type?

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 5) = 18 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 4) = 17 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4) = 11 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 3) = 11 = 9

ok now what can I be ... warrior or expert (19 point buy)

Oh god, you two. ;) Sounds fine with me, DH. :D

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 2) = 15 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 2) = 17 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 3) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 3) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 5) = 21 = 16

I think that amounts to a 23 point buy. Not bad at all, I'd say. I'll come up with something interesting. Probably a fighter.

Dotting...

4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 4) = 12=11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 5) = 13=12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 6) = 14=13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 3) = 14=11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 1) = 11=10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 1) = 14=13

hmm... 10 point buy. I'll see what I can do.

Color me interested.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 3) = 19=16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 4) = 12=10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 6) = 15=14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 3) = 17=14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 4) = 10=9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 4) = 19=16

Hmm...with that I could do a nice Zen Archer. Such as this alias. I will rework his stats to reflect level 9 and work up a background.

Dot.

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 5) = 15 => 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 5) = 13 => 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 6) = 17 => 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 1) = 13 => 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 3) = 8 => 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 6) = 13 => 12

Certainly doable. Is the order fixed or assignable?

Assignable. :)

4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 4) = 17=16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 3) = 16=13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 5) = 13=12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 6) = 20=18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 2) = 14=12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 4) = 18=14

Very playable ...hmmmmm ...

Doomed Hero here. I'm going to rework this character. The basics are all there, I just need to re-do some numbers and add a level.

The basic premise is that he was the missing scholar's bodyguard, who probably got sucked into the deck with his client, or something like that.

Mechanically, he's every caster's best friend, specializing in jumping int he way of attacks, and either taking the damage himself, or negating them outright. His build is highly dynamic and reactionary with a long threat range and impressive melee crowd control.

I'll have the mechanical details sorted out this evening.

Sczarni

Lets see if Desna smiles on my roles:

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 3) = 19 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 2) = 11 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 4) = 15 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 6) = 19 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 6) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 2) = 14 = 12

Hmm... let me see what I can come up with.

4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 2) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 1) = 6
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 2) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 3) = 16

Fuggeddaboutit.

A half-elf witch is coming to me ...holy s#%#, this could be a cool character.

Any alignment preferences?

Digger here with the bare bones of crunch for my submission, Tian-Da Half-Elf Witch with a monk background.

I prefer good(ish) characters, but don't let that stop you from being creative. Really what I want is RP!

Sounds interesting... I'll have to think of a concept...

Maybe a Magus...
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 2) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 3) = 17 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 5) = 17 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 6) = 20 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 2) = 15 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 5) = 17 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 4) = 15 = 14

Hmmmm... Definite possibilities....

As a side note, this mod will probably be quite silly. :)

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 6) = 18 =16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 3) = 19 =16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 1) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 3) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 4) = 16 =13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 5) = 12 =11

Passable = 21 point buy, I can work with these. let's see... what to do though... Concept to follow...

4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 5) = 15 =14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 3) = 17 =14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 1) = 12 =11
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 6) = 14 =13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 6) = 18 =16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 4) = 14 =12

Dotting with dice rolls.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 6) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 4) = 19=15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 1) = 10=9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 5) = 18=15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 5) = 15=13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 4) = 13=11

Now to come up with a concept. Maybe a half-orc bard.

I am interesteeeed!
I think I would be going either Cleric/Something Else or Inquisitor, and likely human. I like religious people.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 5) = 18=16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 2) = 13=11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 4) = 16=15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 2) = 10=8 (dropping this one)
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 6) = 18=15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 5) = 14=13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 2) = 14=12

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Leinathan - I don't think we get to roll 7 times and drop our worst stat - none of the rest of us got to do that... just fyi. :)

8s for you! :D

Vash is about 85% complete. I just need to finish spending money and rework his skill points.

The mechanical framework is done enough to get the gist of the kind of character he is. Please let me know what you think.

Rafael is almost complete (this is JAFO posting under the alias I created for this game. Still have to 'buy' magic items, but I might wait on that til you pick characters unless you want me to do that before you pick. Please let me know. thanks.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 5) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 4) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 5) = 14 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 2) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 1) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 1) = 12 11

Seriously? That's a 10 point buy

second set?:

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 4) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 3) = 13 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3, 4) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 3) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 3) = 18 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 2) = 11 11

Much better

You can use the second set, Bren. LOL

I saw a -3 buy today! It was impressive.

Eww level 9 sounds interesting.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 5) = 13=11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 6) = 15=14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 2) = 12=10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 6) = 21=18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 2) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 2) = 13=12

Some pretty sweet stats for a melee char me thinks. Will need to dwell on this...

@DH - I like Vash! I hope he's extra-crazy from being inside a story! :D

Lexi while you're on a quick question: I was considering a Huntmaster Cavalier. Do you have an opinion on how Boon Companion works with this class? Some say yeah you can take it multiple times to pimp multiple pets while others are of the opinion you can't use it at all as all it does is raise your effective druid level to your class level which you already have.

Hmm. This will require research. :) I'll get back to you!

There are some discussions in the rules questions section on the matter. And yeah there's basically these two opinions. By RAW I tend to agree with the second interpretation but I don't like it...

So I've really been considering a crazy support specialist character, and I keep eyeing up halfling as a race with the helpful trait, the Inspiring Commander archetype for Cavalier, and the Battle Herald PrC. Would you allow Inspiring Commander (from here)? I know it's 3rd party, but it's pretty widely accepted, and the prospect of this concept is frankly too good to pass up.

Rerolling due to rolling 7 stats originally...

4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 3) = 11 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 5) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 1) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 5) = 14 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 2) = 12 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6) = 18 = 16

Ok, still doable..

Dotting for great justice, DICE DONT FAIL ME NOW!!

HIIIAAAAAHHH!!

4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 2) = 9 8

4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 6) = 17 14

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 6) = 17 16

4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 2) = 12 11

4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 4) = 14 12

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 1) = 17 16

26 pts, fancy that.

Im not usually a fan of reworking existing applications, but for this one I think ill do just that.

Dark Archive

Dotting for interest. let's see if I come up with something less crazy this time, eh Lexi?

4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 3) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 5) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 3) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 6) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 5) = 16

NO SKIMPING ON CRAZY. :D

Dark Archive

Yeah, after looking at it, I kinda realized I wasn't allowed to skimp on the crazy.

I think Snowball would be perfect for this. I'll just have to break out something else nuts.

@Alex Mack; about halfway through the thread, I starting mulling over a Huntmaster... then I got to your post. *Fist shaking*

started to work on an idea but I don't really know now.

the original idea I had doesn't translate well to silly.

the other idea was a summoner/synthisist that was/is a sailor and needs to eat spinich to summon his eidilon.

third choice is Kobold alchemist/pyromaniac that likes to see (and make) explosions

To clarify - you don't have to be silly. The adventure just will be; its quite cartoonish in flavor and is supposed to be ... its basically a cartoon or a storybook in living color. :)

Dark Archive

We are a group of adventurers sent into this realm to find a lost scholar, correct? So we're going to be good or neutral leaning towards good?

Is there anything we should stay away from?

Leaning towards good probably makes the most sense for a reason to be doing the quest in the first place, but whatever works for RP to get you in and cooperating is fine with me.

Just don't get too attached to anything that would effect the outside world. :) (Knowledge Local, or fame or something)

when you say cartoon are we talking bugs bunny cartoon, anime cartoon, or possibly Adventure time or Gravity falls cartoon

which brings me me to another concept but no guns.
