If an enemy wants to open themselves up in their defenses, Zane will take advantage.
The Zane will buy THAT for a Cred!
AoO: 1d20 + 11 - 3 ⇒ (12) + 11 - 3 = 20

Do you NOTICE HOW GOOD The Zane is at hitting people?! The Zane swings - BAM! You bleed. The Zane swings - BAM! You bleed.
Is there a mercy rule in this game, because Captain you are outmatched and down by twelve scores.
He then takes a guarded step to get in flanking position to swing again

There is still cover for shooting through a square occupied by a creature but no longer a penalty for shooting into melee. That went away. Better guns =better aim I guess.
@Dash-Does your sniper rifle have any weapon fusions on it. The vampire has DR/ Magic on it. DR in Starfinder though just affects kinetic damage and weapons. So anything that does any sort of elemental damage wont be affected. I mention it as you guys would have known it from Ambassador Nor (Link)
Dash fires a well-aimed shot from his sniper rifle. Though the bullet hits home it doesn't seem to affect the vampiric Captain in the slightest. She sticks her clawed finger in the hole in her back. "Mortal weapons..."
Abe takes a shot from the platform and slips on a rock at the last moment. Messalina also fires another bottle of coolant though her programs still seem to be coming back online as she teeters, missing.
The Captain is quickly cut off as she is put on the defensive by Zane and Draka. Draka's hammer hit, cracking a few ribs but doesn't do nearly as much damage as the manicured Vesk put behind the blow. DR/Magic. Any weapon fusion on your hammer would consider it to be magic.
Vetch fires a stream of acid into the vampire's armor. It sizzles and pops as she shifts about uncomfortably.
Trick Attack vs Zane DC 26: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31

Trick Attack Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 3, 3) = 13
Grab vs KAC FF 28: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
The Zane feels a clawed hand slit across his throat. Warm blood runs down his armor as his wound lies wide open. The only thing stopping him from gasping for breath and dying is the vampiric hand wrapped tightly around his throat. Captain Vesh pulls him in close. Her burnt skin from Vetch's acid quickly healing itself. Your DR feat saved you from going down. Left you with literally 1 Hp from that crit.
She opens her mouth and Zane's eyes roll back into his head as a strange mist exits his mouth and flows into hers. She seems to be draining his soul from his body.
You are now grappled and must make a DC 16 Fort Save. Failure is 1 negative level and staggered for 1d4 rounds.

Keep in mind that the large rocks (Stairs and rocks surrounding the pool of acid) are all difficult terrain.

Correct. Thanks Dash, I will get that updated.
Dash's laser sears a couple fingers off of the vampire's hand as Abe burns a hole right through the thickened armor plating.
Zane falls limp in the vampire's hands as a small portion of his life-fore is drained.
Seeing his companion near death Vetch sends a trio of rockets screaming through the air. They smash into the vampire with such force that she is thrown backwards into the ground, dropping Zane from her clawed hands.
She doesn't get back up. Luckily, as her next round was to toss Zane into the pool of acid below for 20d6 damage. That was actually in her combat tactics.

Shit! That's bad vid!
Vetch rushes over to Zane, staff in hand and begins to administrate to his injuries. He starts, working feverishly, feeling that *The* Zane is close to *The* death and wants to avoid that.
Regain 30 HP.
At the end of 10 tense minutes, Vetch looks hopeful at *The* Zane's recovery.
"Get up you big lumbering ass! Get your ass up and fight for the sportsball!" Vetch tries to motivate the former sportsball player.

Aerav Brack Elijea |

Abe grins as the foul creature finally drops. He checks to make sure Vetch has everything he needs to help The Zane, before turning to his own injuries and those of Messalina.
He uses a resolve point to regain his own stamina even as he tinkers with his drone (heal Messalina 12hp).
He walks back over to see if The Zane is conscious. "We may have to carry him back to the ship." he mummers mostly to himself.
He also searches among the undead's belongings. He sets aside anything of particular value.

The Zane |

Zane is lying there, bleeding from the neck and face. The gash in the neck is vicious.
fight for the sportsball!
to which Zane replies in a low, strained voice. Opening his mouth, you see his normally white teeth trying to shine through a veneer of blood. It's even more grisly as the redness of blood outlines and defines the channels between each tooth.
It's called a Drake. The sportsball is called a Drake in Droid Deathball. The amount of blood in his mouth is enough to make it difficult to speak more, so Zane spits it out in a big globule that splatters and colors this dead world's dirt. Zane shudders as the strain of spitting. Getting his partially torn neck muscles to clench to spit made the pain unbearable and he reels his head lolling backward.
But then the fleshmesh starts to work on the more grievous wound.
You guys really did score with The Drake. Good job all. The Zane is sad to say that he didn't see the very end - it had to have been something super special and a sight to see. Zane is sorry he missed it, but something *Took the breath away* . and he starts to laugh a partially pained laugh.

Dash Arcbright |

”Good job Zane.” Dash nods to the injured sportsman. ”Big foul on the play there, and you took one for the team, but we scored the winning goal. If there was a game ball, you’d get the f@#%ing thing.”

Vetch No-Toes |

Vetch steps back as *The* Zane gets to his feet.
"Yeah, sure, the 'drake', I won't forget that..." Vetch comments, then completely forgets it. "Why can't you play a real sport, like goblin sniping or something more entertaining?"
Vetch will take a ring of resistance if there is one available.
"Are we done here? Should we bring the body back with us, or do we have enough video feed that it's not necessary?" Vetch looks at Draka and *The* Zane.
"Yeah, I think we're done here and I think something else...hmm..." Vetch rubs his furry chin, knowing he forgot something.

The Zane |

Zane beams at the compliments by his coach and by the greatest celebrity personality. Those words of encouragement are like MK III Healing serums to him, but he also knows how Vetches healing was equally important and says so.
Guys, The Zane needs just a bit more time for the medicine to kick in and recover. Remember, those ghouls beat the shit out of the bodies nervous system and that breath stealing thing was nasty
Zane spends a resolve point to recover stamina. He is still infected and has a negative level.... it has been a very long day of stat depletion.
He does pick up a ring of resistance too.
During the added break, where he suggests that Draka rest a bit, she looks haggard. Aren't Team Blood and Fury supposed to figure out where to go next? Like where are those insane in the Eoxian Membrane Cultists and the Death Navy are going too? Maybe something can be found in the computer thing? Abe what do you think?

Vetch No-Toes |

Vetch does to stand over the body. ”So this is the one that sent that note, huh?”
Vetch looks around for anything else of note or value. When he finishes, he’ll be ready to go.
”I don’t know that there is anything left for us here. Let’s go? We were on our way to rest, as I recall.”

Aerav Brack Elijea |

"Yeah, I think we're done here. Let's get back to the ship and rest a while. I can examine the data module there as well - see if we've got any useful information here."
He gathers up the gear, giving a fair amount to Draka and a little to The Zane for carrying.
Once back at the ship, he'll plug the data module in and see what he can detect.
Computers: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33 (when hacking, I now automatically disable one countermeasure (except firewalls))

The Zane |

Zane is actually dropping the body off at the Ministry, but I am writing that story up tonight or tomorrow.
Don't worry Draka, this bag of bones isn't going on the Sunrise Maiden. ABE would put Zane's finger in warm water while The Zane was sleeping if Zane stunk up the ship that badly. This body of Captain Vesh has another mission to accomplish.
He smiles.

Will get post up this evening. Give Zane time for his post on dropping the Vampire off.

Gathering up the vampire and her items The Zane weakly drags teh corpse all the way back to town.
The journey still takes another couple of hours and receives numerous lifeless, curious and looks of contempt from passerby's as the living drag around an undead corpse. Small whispers catch your ears.
"Breathers always causing trouble."
"Can't mind their own business."
"They should keep them off our planet."
"What do you think happened?"
"Is that Corpse Fleet?"
The Zane nudges open the doors to the Ministry of Eternal Vigilance and drops the corpse of Captain Vesh right in front of Waneda Trux. Once again she ignores The Zane and merely points to the ticket contraption against the wall. "Take a number." She helpfully replies.

Meanwhile back on the Sunrise Maiden, Abe inserts the data module into the superior Tier 3 computer system. The computers programming shuts down the countermeasures as Abe bypasses the firewall.
Information begins to flit across the screen. This is the data deleted from the datacore from the cultist's lair in the Star-Eater’s Spine!
This data reveals that the Cult of the Devourer left its Diaspora base to search for the Gate of Twelve Suns in a distant star system called Nejeor, based on the cultists’ interpretations of Nyara’s prophecies. Nejeor’s coordinates put the system somewhere in the Vast (The large unexplored regions outside of the Pact Worlds.) The electronic signature on this data matches that of the hacker who scrubbed the files from the cult’s computer system, confirming that the Corpse Fleet visited the Star-Eater’s Spine, accessed the datacore, and learned that the cult is searching the Nejeor system for the “key” to the alien superweapon.

Back at the ministry, Dash considers testing the gun on Waneda, but decides to try something new. Leaning against the counter, he says, ”Number? We don’t need a f@#%ing number.”
Tapping into the energy of the multiverse, Dash sends a spark into the undead synapses of the rude ghoul, plucking at those long dead connections in the prefrontal cortex in such a way to induce happiness, and compliance.

Hearing Waneda instruct them to take a number sets Zane off.
DELIVERY FOR THE MINISTRY OF ETERNAL VIGILENCE!
Zane booms out.
And with the movements like an Olympic Hammer throw, Zane takes both ankles of the body and whirls around- letting it launch at the top of the front desk. The body collides with the desk, half on the reception platform, and half draped across the Lobby side of the desk. Yellow Post-It notes, a stapler, and a framed sign that says, “Eoxian’s like us on Yelp” go flying in all directions at the force of the impact.
AHHHHH Waneda.
The actions of the crazy mouth-breather does get Waneda’s attention. She still has a look of boredom, and is totally unconcerned, but she meets Zane’s gaze with a level stare.
The Zane just wanted to come back here to drop off proof that Team Blood and Fury got the mission done. Plus, The Zane is still a-l-ive. Which has to chap your ghoulish hide.
Well, The Zane HATES you, and you hate The Zane. Oh, it was glorious, The Zane was out there killing Corpse Fleet and each time thinking that it was Y-O-U that was getting smashed. But, it’s now time to leave this planet, and Zane needs to replenish his level of hate. Come-On, Give up a Rachel-Ross. Hit the Zane with a couple “sides of fists together”. There’s this Cult and Skull Squadron group of people out in space, and they need killing.
Zane waits expectedly.
After a few slow, long moments of consideration, Waneda Triple Rachel-Ross’s Zane.
The ferocity of the three successive movements together catches Zane a bit off guard, and he grits his teeth as the anger level and redness in his face rises.
He pulls out Bubba, the sniper rifle in both hands and Waneda doesn’t even move or flinch, as Zane rotates the gun to aim -not at Waneda- but that number contraption on the lobby wall. He pulls the trigger and a laser blast spits out and burned paper numbers go flying.
The lower part of the machine clambers to the floor, the paper number 306 is still trapped in the serrated mouth of the now destroyed contraption.
Zane spins on his heels and calls back, Send the bill to Team Blood and Fury, The Team just picked up 5000 credits and can afford it. He leaves The Ministry in it’s disarray.

Waneda seems to be a master at ignoring everything around her as she completes her triple Ross-Rachel without even looking up from her computer. She is probably busy playing some play-by-post RPG at work for all Zane knows.
She points to the number carousel once again. "Take a number." This Eoxian ways and slowness would even make the elves go mad with impatience. This planet is worse than the slowest, meanest DMV.
The Zane's anger grows as he blasts the number contraption from the wall. Numbered tickets go flying in all directions as the flurry fills the room. A handful falls in front of Waneda. The ghoul sighs and calls out calmly, as if this happens on a regular basis. "Next." She says with a small smile as he tongue rolls out of her mouth hungrily. "What can the Ministry of Eternal Vigilance help you with?" He eyes glance up at the deceased Vampire draped across her countertop. She grabs the arm and flicks it back over.

Draka puts an arm around The Zane's shoulder and in a not-so-quiet whisper says: "Draka think maybe Draka and The Zane 'take care of' Waneda. Waneda already dead so maybe other dead not notice." Draka uses air quotes at certain parts of her conversation. The vesk straightens and gets back into her own personal space, casting quick glances between Waneda and The Zane and making a throat-slitting motion.
Draka looks around the waiting room for someone to talk to.

The Zane |

Thanks Draka, you are the best Teammate ever! Sometime in the near future - it's for certain that this isn't the last we have seen of Waneda.
In the meantime, Zane's certain that ABE and Messalina are doing their computer fix-it stuff to tell Team Blood and Fury where to go next.
Zane is heading to the ship to find out more and maybe see if Vetch has some better medicine aboard Sunrise Maiden.

Haha Vetch. That is true. Thanks for fixing that.
Draka looks around the waiting room as she plots the ghoul's death over waiting. To make matters worse the vesk finds the waiting room completely empty.
Team Blood and Fury has made a rival this trip. One that would even rival east coast / west coast, Eminem / MGK rap battles from the days of old.
Their message boards go wild over The Zane's near death experience to the vampiric Captain and the Ross-Rachel becomes the new running gag from the Infosphere Trolls on the messageboards. Though there is the sparse good vibe thoughts and sympathy intermixed throughout as the administrators try to keep it civil over the frustration at Waneda.

Might be we check in first, at least over the comm-link, to let them know we have another destination. Don't want to say where it is over the open signal, but we should let them know we're going hunting."
"We have a few things to sell, and I want to make some changes to the ship before we leave the docks. Perhaps shopping tomorrow morning, and I'll make everything ship-shape in the afternoon. We can leave the next day, at the earliest."
Take one more run on the treasure sheet please to make sure you have whatever you want. I'll do a divvy shortly.

Waneda shrugs as The Zane leaves. She looks to Draka and speaks up as if the Vesk is deaf. Nearly screaming she cups her mouth watching Draka take a seat just above Vetch. "I SAID NEXT! "Draka think Ministry of Eternal Vigilance change name. More like Eternal Slowness," the vesk grumbles and prods the yoski before standing.
Draka moves over to the desk, her 7-foot-height towering over the undead's desk. "Draka and Draka friends finish mission. Cowardly Vampire," Draka points, "no match for Draka and Draka friends." Draka flexes her arms unnecessarily.
"Waneda give Draka credits?" The vesk lifts a claw to her own mouth in a questioning gesture. "Draka not sure how this work. Draka agent normally handle credits. Draka think Draka deserve credits. And Emmy Award. Draka very talented." The vesk comfortably carries on the conversation the vesk way, showing her wounds and elaborating on the violence. "Not enough skull smashing," Draka finishes. "Draka like smashing."

Waneda calmly grabs a stack of forms. There looks to be roughly 250 pages. "Fill out this background check and request for funding and return in 7-10 business days." She taps the stack of paper, pushing it towards the angered vesk. "Or you can always just contact your boss back on Absalom Station for your payment."

Vetch enters with Draka, unsure if he should take lead in the discussions or let Draka lead. He is too late to speak first, but is not unhappy with Draka's chosen path for the negotiations. Draka deserves an Emmy for her portrayal of a sentient being, a stretch role for the actress. He was internally annoyed that *The* Zane could nominated for Best Death Scene, as he feels *The* Zane's near-death scene was overacted, hammed up, and the gore effects just weren't believable.
He'll let Draka decide whether she wants to fill out the forms or slam them with her hammer. Both would be appropriate actions.

Draka Durotan |

250 pages? Draka not even read 250 page book... The vesk's train of thought skims over process of payment but fixates on the secondary information:
"Wait you said an Emmy?" She grabs another 10 page form and tosses it on the counter. "Here you go."
Draka stares for a moment, astonished by the news. "Is that... Is that how it works?" The vesk isn't quite sure. Perhaps that's why the budding celebrity hadn't received an Emmy yet. Or perhaps she just didn't understand the subtle nuances of the rich and famous. She was a Vidstar after all.
Draka looks at the paperwork (for the Emmy) and sighs, unsure if it will actually get processed. "Okay... Draka do this, but only because Draka need practice on signature." The vesk moves back to a chair with the clipboard and fills out the paperwork.
Despite having such large hands, Draka's penmanship is surprisingly delicate and practiced. Hanging letters have a generous flourish, i's and j's are dotted with small, controlled strokes, and uppercase D's are particularly grandiose - resembling the first letter in a fairytale book.
Draka delivers the 10-page form to the desk, then turns to the yoski: "Draka think ship next stop?" She seems to have been placated by the possibility of public recognition. If Vetch agrees, Draka meets up with the rest of the group.

”Yes, definitely,” Vetch agrees, returning to the party. He feels better after the nap and that Draka didn’t murder anyone...or him...during their adventure.

Waneda takes the stack of forms for the Emmy and tosses them to the side of her desk as she rolls her undead eyes. She gives a fake smile "I'll make sure to file this immediately." And she returns to typing on her computer with long nails that clack and clatter on the keyboard.
