She had cancer, which we fought for a couple years. So it wasn't a surprise, but the end seemed to come very suddenly. I was hoping she'd hold on for a few more weeks, until my wife got home, but she seemed to decide on Thursday that she was done. I was initially going to wait and see until Monday but it was clear she wasn't able to fight anymore.
I really am sorry to read that.

On a personal note: I've been going through a near-crippling bout of depression recently. It has been all I can do to function at work and at home with the kids. As soon as they are in bed, I shut down. I apologize that that has made my contributions here a little scattered. things are improving and hopefully they'll continue to.

I am finally back, after a week-long trip to Disney/Universal and some minor internet hiccups after I got home. I should be back to a normal posting schedule for a while.
