Sounds good. Starting Thursday, my posting may be a bit limited. The ol' ball and chain's home through Jan. 3. I still expect I'll post during some of that time (I have to work some days, which often gives me a chance to post, and we don't tend to spend every single minute together) but if I'm slow on the uptake, anyone should feel free to bot me...

Yelena Shukhov |
Dear Everyone,
I am posting this to all of my games. I'm sorry for my lack of communication. Life has been dumping on me.
My work load is still overwhelmingly heavy, and we had a major medical scare in my family. My son had a relatively simple case of strep throat, and we learned the hard way that he is allergic to penicillin. Very allergic. We've been dealing with medical issues for over a week now.
I will be going on inactive status for a short while. I need to get things in order and I barely have time in my daily schedule to eat dinner with my family let alone do any gaming. Between too much work, finishing my dissertation, and my son's health, I have too much on my plate.
If you feel the need to replace my character, I understand. I will reach out to you when things settle down to see if there is still an opening. Probably in a few weeks.
Thank you for all the fun! I hope this passes soon.

Storn of Gorum |

We aren't going anywhere. Take care of your family and I hope things settle out.

Storn of Gorum |

Merry merry!

Not my preferred injury, for sure. I'd rather have a broken bone or a simple slice than see the entire end of my finger missing. I'm not cut out for the Yakuza, that's for sure. (da-duh, tchsssshhh!)
/me politely declines the finger foods before dinner.

Storn of Gorum |

AAUUUGH. I've cooked professionally and been hit with a similar, but slightly lesser injury. That's awful. Spoiler - it's gonna take FOREVER to heal. :(

Storn of Gorum |

Stick a damp cloth under those bad boys and they'll stay put.

Mariana Trellis |

Sorry guys...been dealing with pneumonia. Been a bit out of it.

Also, did anyone want to claim any of that alchemical loot? I'd like to update my character sheet, but obviously don't want to horde everything if others want it. And, if we have time, I can try to craft a few cure potions to help keep us all up a bit longer (looking at you, Storn!)

Storn of Gorum |

Awesome!
Again, I wanna stress that I love this group. Everyone has personality, everyone contributes, and everyone is doing great. I love playing ridiculous characters like Storn, but he only works best with strong, consistent personalities. Insanity needs context to have meaning.
So I shouldn't have had quickened blessing, which requires level 10. I'm swapping it for toughness.
Level three
Hp: Total HP is now 29 factoring in toughness, and +7 from the level
BAB +1
Saves: +1 Reflex
Special: Bonus Feat
Spells: +1 first level spell
Feats chosen: Toughness (replaces quicken blessing), Improved bull rush, EWP Armor Spikes
Skills: +1 intimidate, +1 KN religion, +1 spellcraft

Mariana Trellis |

As with last level, I'm having a really hard time here, especially after I felt like I wasn't contributing. Not sure how to play this...Especially with Mariana's traumatic feelings from all of this..

DM Bigrin |

@mariana - I don't know about not contributing. You've made some good hits with bow, healed a few people, identified an artifact, and generally made crazy stuff happen. bards aren't exactly known for their combat prowess at level 1, so if you are happy with the character, keep on keeping on. If you aren't liking how it is playing, then let me know in PM and we can discuss.

+1 to all this. RP & character are good and that's what I want.

Storn of Gorum |

I also agree, Mariana is great and brings a lot. Early on finding your niche in combat can be a trick with support characters, but she's been useful and adds good depth.
For loot, Storn is interested in that half-plate if it can be identified. Someone should grab the heavyload belt, too.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Sander Thistlewight |

I agree with everyone else. As long as you're enjoying playing Mariana, that's what matters. I think especially with six players (assuming Yelena comes back), there's so much going on in combat that it can be easy to feel like you're not contributing, but keep in mind you were the one who recognized that map in the geode. If you want some of the consumables, that can help in combat.
---
As for treasure, here's what we've got -- I'll note things Sander will take if no one else wants them (he gets a lot more splash damage than everyone else, but I don't know if I'd even be able to use all these consumables and don't want to be greedy, so please feel free to speak up).
potion of cure moderate wounds: Someone should take this.
acid (2): SANDER
alchemist’s fire (2): SANDER
black adder venom (2 doses): SANDER
bloodroot (2 doses): SANDER
blue whinnis: SANDER
liquid ice (2): SANDER
oil of taggit: SANDER
tanglefoot bag: Mariana?
thunderstones (2): Mariana?
mwk studded leather: ??? Quill, any interest?
mwk cold iron falchion: ???
formula alembic: SANDER
alchemy crafting kit: Sell
antitoxin (2): Storn and Yelena (since they're likely in our front line)
formula book (contains elemental touch, protection from arrows, bomber's eye, cure light wounds, expeditious retreat, enlarge person, invisibility, shield, and stone fist): SANDER
mwk thieves’ tools: Mariana?
portable alchemist’s lab: Sell
masterwork breastplate: ???
masterwork splint mail: ???
+1 human-bane arrows (4): Quill
adamantine crossbow bolts (13): Molly? (She's used a crossbow)
masterwork orc double axe: ???
heavyload belt: SANDER (again, not trying to be greedy, but could be really useful considering my strength and all the crap I'm hauling around; if anyone else wants it, that's fine!)
scroll of phantasmal killer: Molly? Mariana?
scroll of tongues: Molly? Mariana?
coins and gems adding up to 1335 gp
Magic items not readily identifiable
large half-plate: Storn sounds like we have a little time so I assume I can take a day to identify it
large hammer: Storn, I believe, claimed this.
locket containing a lock of hair: Any indication whose this belongs to? I'm wondering if it's maybe more than simple loot.
Spellcraft, using identify extract, to ID the armor: 1d20 + 9 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 10 = 25

Mariana Trellis |

Oh, I have no plans to abandon Mariana, I love her temperament and characterization. I'm just debating now that she has had the stress of combat overwhelm her a few times...which route does she go. That is all.
Mariana definitely wants the Tongues Scroll, she already has mw tools, and Tanglefoot bags are way too heavy. I might take the thunderstones for her, but with all our players being casters, they are dangerous for us...(Ok, ok, technically Sander isn't a caster).
Just being indecisive...that's all...

Storn of Gorum |

Thanks Sander!
Also, Storn taking the hammer and half-plate will change when Yelena comes back. We'll let that fall out as it may.

Sander Thistlewight |

Oh, Sander would like to try to copy the scroll into his formula book before handing it over to Mariana.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Success! He's out 90 gold when we divvy that up. Speaking of which, did we decide if we wanted to do a party share or just a six-way split? Also, I know some groups figure out a total value of everything, divide that, and then subtract the cost from each person's share of what they get. Personally, I'm not a fan of that way, since I think people should take what they can use most and it goes to a common purpose.
Speaking of which, depending on how much time we have, Sander can whip up some curative potions for cheap. I know a few people put in a few days of post-battle action, though I think DM Bigrin indicated we all met again the day after the battle. Not sure it matters that much either way.
It also feels like we'll can leave a little bit at our leisure -- there's no immediate pressure that we seem to be aware of -- so could take a few days/a week to craft items before we set out.

@Sander - see the loot list. On the summary page, it shows how much each person will get when everything is sold. It's an estimate until all loot is claimed, then I will disperse. Sounds like we are basically at that point now.
@Molly - yes to both, see below for cash
@everyone - There is no reason that what you have posted wouldn't transpire over a few days. There is some downtime available, though most of you will likely be spending your time helping to bolster Trunau's defenses.
I will be moving to the next scene as soon as loot is distributed and questions have been answered.

DM Bigrin |

Okay, taking into account everything that everyone has claimed to date, here is the cash distribution. Please take out any costs of goods that you have stated in this thread AFTER you receive your payout.
Totals distributed:
Party 272 gp
Mariana 2300 gp
Molly 1699 gp
Quill 1815 gp
Storn 1756 gp
Sander 1215 gp
...and that's probably every coin in Trunau. The game economy is likely broken at this point :)
@Storn - The armor functions as a +1 half-plate that resizes to fit its owner. Enjoy!

Not sure what's happening next, but people may want to put aside 150 (or 125 if Yelena) for another wand of CLW.
-530 gp Mwk Darkwood Composite Longbow (+1)
-125 gp share of wand of CLW
-1 gp 20 arrows
---------
240.5 gp to spend
.240.5 gp
1815. gp----------
2055 to spend

Anyone need anything simple crafted? My offer still stands. :)
Duly noted. Not sure what Quill is doing yet. Will ponder and see how the story progresses.

Storn of Gorum |

A pearl of power would make Storn the happiest of all possible Storns. >.>

Stupid Runestones...

Anyone need anything simple crafted? My offer still stands. :)
Can you craft up a handy haversack?
If not that, then an efficient quiver? (Just need one or the other.)Might want a pearl as well, depending on monies.
We'll start there...
