It's a good post...the High Priestess explaining her theology and mixing in the rules and the spirit of Iomedae and whatnot. It fits with her character and her high wisdom. It's what I would expect from a High Priestess.

The reason why I like it is that I suspect that that's not from the AP, but something you wrote yourself Bigrin.

But the double secret reason why I like it is that I tried to snark you/high priestess, GM Bigrin, and you oversnarked me right back. I thought I was leaving you one hook, and you took another that I didn't even consider.

Well, it finally happened. The day I feared would come. During a marathon gaming session yesterday (13 hours) months of lying, backstabbing, and double dealing finally drove my players beyond the edge of paranoia. They actually attacked an innocent simply because she told them "no", and started yelling at them to leave her alone.

And not just "spiked gauntlet to the face" either, Tanner. We're talking "maximized scorching ray and full crit/bleed swashbuckler attacks". She lost 90 hit points before she could run out of the room on her initiative count. Now, I've got 3 players seriously considering switching characters, and 1 going through an existential crisis (to the point of wanting to retrain feats to allow his spells to do nonlethal damage).

Some days I just love being a GM.

Congrats! It is always a good day when you can instill anxiety and dread in your players.

I recently did a variation of Mars Death Quest using the Numenera game system with my monthly group. They went tromping through the hideout of a group of cultists, who tried to fire a 'warning shot' to keep the adventurers away. The players, of course, thought this meant combat, and promptly slaughtered all of them. While deluded, they were mostly harmless, and I was going to use the cultists for some expository narration. Whoops.


Module 2 came in the mail yesterday. Huzzah!

No scheduled interruption. I went to a conference assuming I would have plenty of time/internet access, and found neither. Can only use my phone. Updates coming soon


Here is a link to the loot list. I think I have gotten everything on there now.For those of you who haven't seen this type of loot sheet before, let me break it down for you.

Summary Tab - a quick look at what the current status of loot is. Cells F14-K14 show what each party member would receive if we sold all the loot right this minute. It is based on what we have available to sell and what has been claimed. The goal is to try and keep relative WBL the same across all party members. It may look complicated, but it works really well. I have been using this in my RL game, ass well as my PbP games and it does a good job.

There is a "Max Gold in Kitty" field that allows you to give the party kitty an equal share of your take, up to a max value. I have it set to 0 now. If you want that set to a specific value, let me know. Party kitty funds are used to purchase "party items" like healing wands, bags of holding, etc.

Other Tabs - these hold the specific loot items, organized by category. If you want to claim a loot item, tell me here or in the gameplay thread. Your name gets assigned to it, and then its value comes out of your share of the loot. For example, if Yelena wants the falchion, she claims it here. I mark it as Yelena's and it comes out of the general loot list, and its value comes out of her share.

As I said, it looks complicated but really isn't. Look it over and let me know what you think.

I'm in the middle of a 40 hour weekend's worth of work that is in the midst of 9 straight 10+ hour days...so I'm really slow at the moment. I should have plenty of time once I get out of the weekend (open on Monday, then nights until Friday...then FREE RPG DAY!!!!)

In a way, I regret the Orcs getting a pantheon of distinctive, identified gods. ^^; I was quite charmed by the setup in Orcs of Golarion, which basically gives the Orcs a pantheon of roles to fulfill and duties to perform, which can be filled by any appropriate entity that wants and can do the job. ^^


Question - How do you guys feel about creating Roll20 accounts? I am starting to run into limitations with MapTool, and since I have already moved to Roll20 for my RL games, I was thinking about doing the same with my PbP ones as well. It would let you control your own character, but you'd have to be able to log into Roll20 and move your own token, and I wouldn't be posting a pic of the map (would be double the work and there are no grid coordinates in Roll20). Let me know what you guys think. It's not an immediate need, but I am looking towards future encounters.

So, should we go over what we have?

Mysterious white swords and Rodrik's death in Trunau.

He had a poorly made Hopeknife, because the real one was missing, which we since found in the Plague House. We still don't know how it got there.

We know Katrezra had visions of the Plague House and Rodrik wrote about them in his diary.

So in the Plague House we found this kid that Daktani apparently kidnapped for reasons unknown.

Daktani's master is working with Ghaer's mistress to coordinate some kind of raid on this town. There is something here that her mistress wants, and she will stop at nothing to get it. She thinks Daktani was to relay more information about the raid so we should see if we can talk with his corpse in town.

Not sure if we have any other questions for her that I can think of. We definitely seemed to kill the wrong one. :)

Ok, so we just leveled. I feel like there is a couple of different directions I want to take my character and I'm really having a hard time deciding which direction to go (note: All directions are skills because she is a skill monkey at her core).

I bring it up for a couple of reasons...I am considering splashing a class for a couple/few levels or even the bard being the splash. That said...I'm looking at either: 1) Becoming more combat effective with a 3 level jump OR 2) Becoming more versatile on utility for the group.

Sander isn't going to claim anything, since he wasn't a part of it. No need to give Vashta anything either for reasons that will be clear.

Mariana, I would say go with what you want to play. I don't think we'll need to worry too much about combat, though, considering there are six of us. Other groups I'd say need combat help but I don't think this will be one of them.

Quill, I suspected as much since you haven't posted your character's primary info and I respect that, hence why I put more the role fulfillment, not class decision. I actually have a great idea for where I want the character to go, it's all about the path to get there and had an amazing idea to fulfill today! Just have to clear up a couple things with our awesome GM!

Just wanted to say this is the a freaking fantastic PbP game. Every character pops with personality, the pace is good, and I'm really digging this AP so far. Hurray eveyrone!

Anyways, Storn isn't going to claim anything from the loot sheet. He CAN use the crossbow bolts but is an awful shot and thinks ranged weapons are for effeminate communists. So if someone else uses a crossbow they'd be a better pick.

As soon as I know that everything desired has been claimed, I'll cash you out. As for selling items, if you claimed it as loot or purchased it with your own cash, the value goes into your pool. Once we do a loot distribution, I'll show you haw that works.

Also, do you guys want to keep a party kitty going? The way I recommend that is to give the kitty an equal share of cash, up to a specific amount (e.g., max of 750g, enough to buy a healing wand).

Looking at the summary sheet, right now we are sitting just under WBL with the kitty getting nothing. Not too suprising, given the full party, and easily adjusted in the upcoming act.
