Just a heads up that I will be out of touch until Tuesday while on location filming. If there's a response up in the morning I'll try to get a post up.
See you guys Tuesday!

Sorry, yeah - I've been here, just crazy busy lately. I have been doing my best to keep up, but haven't had a lot of time to post. I'll try to remedy that shortly.

I just had a wonderful and calming thought. For the first time in 20 years I am looking forward to a PERMANENT gaming group! Finally no more "Move, search for a year, play for a year, Move, search for a year, play for a year" Rinse and Repeat.
You see, I am retiring from the US Army this fall! :D I am not sure where I will land (we're hoping a job in Maryland pans out) but that is irrelevant. I have always been able to find, or forge, a table top group. Sure, we have to sort a lot of chaff to find the wheat, but it's been a good experience.
But the idea of a gaming group that will be steady for *years*? *woot*

I am going to be going to the field for about 10 days. I should be back next Thursday. It is supposed to be pretty isolated so no alternative internets except work computers that block Paizo.com :/
Bot as necessary! :D

Sorry for the slowness in responses, guys, been doing some work on three projects I have to get them in a good state before I leave for Paizocon. That said, I'll be departing Thursday morning and not returning until late Monday night. I probably won't be able to post at all until Tuesday!
If any of you will be there, let me know :D

Hey guys, just letting you know in at the start of a twenty hour journey back home to the UK. I'll catch up and post once ive settled back in and had a sleep!
Dantrian Almaeus |
Man, even in pbp splitting the party can be a headache!
Not sure what we all think is easier at this point - fast forward to a point we're all together and we can discuss our respective findings or keep stabbing at things seperately like we have been.
I get why B'yelka is rp'ing her not having money, but I don't see why we can't just say either Anton or Drosil have enough if that's easier. I think it'd be. At least, it'd be less narratively jarring than having to stop every half page and asking who has how much.
----
And, Jelani, I really appreciate you wanting to keep me involved. That said, don't feel like you need to shoe-horn stuff in for me if I botch a knowledge check though. I can always lean on Mosswick for some narrative input if the library proves to be fruitless for a period. =)
----
Regarding what we know of the Way's activities in the Shudderwood, Ashan, we don't have a lot to go on, actually.
DM Jelani |
I think a string of vacations, and other RL events have thrown a wrench in our pacing. That and I have a strong preference for keeping the party together as far as running things. Maybe I'm a simpleton, but I find it far easier to handle one scene at a time.
If no one is sure how much money they have, and Dantrian is the only one keeping track, that's a separate problem. Either you all have some money, or Dantrian is holding it for the group. Which one is it?
Finally, I'm totally cool with handwaving someone going to library or room to fetch some money, I just wanted to know if Dantrian would share what he found in the note when someone dropped by to pick up the cash (if he should be the one holding it).
The leads at this point are the hooker, and the upstairs whatever that the note refers to. That and the Stairs of the Moon.
I will wait on you guys to decide a course of action. Janos and Ashan are also kinda in limbo having finished their conversation with Duristan. I would recommend we handle the scene with Niama, with whoever wants to be present there. Dantrian can decide whether to share the contents of the note during the cash pickup or wait until after the meeting with Niama. Then we will have an info sharing session and move on into the evening. Ok?
Janos Ardeal |
I don't Ashan is misremembering too much. We know the Way stopped here. Belik confirmed it and said they met with the Madam. Anton and crew have now learned that some of them met with one of the girls.
Janos is just pointing out that the Warden may not know these things. He might have simply allowed Belik to take care of their visit and really not know much more. He thinks Anton following up the lead with the Madame is the best course, as well as letting Dantrian finish his research. He's basically trying to get Ashan to cool his jets and relax while the others work.
I'll point out that Ashan does have a point. Unless we find out the werewolf dispute is connected to the Way, there's little reason right now for us to get involved. There doesn't seem to be any immediate danger to the Lodge and if the werewolves sort out their packlord, then things may calm down. Of course, knowing this is an AP, that's unlikely to happen. If we find out the werewolves are directly threatening the Lodge or if the new packlord has greater evil planned (or connected to the Way), it may change things.
Dantrian Almaeus |
I'll also mention that Dantrian is aware that these Stairs of the Moon have appeared both in his notes and in Janos and Ashan's conversation with Duristan. He doesn't think it's a coincidence, but he's also QUITE HAPPY to wait for Belik to happen by before making a stab at the upper floor. Poor guy is surrounded by werewolves and werewolf hunters and just needs a break with a good, boring book or two. =)
And as for tracking things, while I (John, the player) am managing the Inventory Log, I don't think that really extends to Dantrian as functioning as the party's quartermaster and banker. The log was last updated after our shopping trip just prior to meeting Ashan, so everyone's gp's should be accurate. (For instance, Anton has 732.42gp)
Dantrian can decide whether to share the contents of the note during the cash pickup or wait until after the meeting with Niama. Then we will have an info sharing session and move on into the evening. Ok?
I'm happy to wait until after the chat with Niama to reveal the note. We can then move on to the evening and perhaps take a stab at the upper floor of the library the following day (presuming we survive the night). dun Dun DUNNNNNN!

Holy crap, sorry guys! I had my final deadline for Occult Origins due this week and design started for Occult Realms. Lots of freelance work going on and I just lost track of the PbPs. Things are calmer now, so it should be way less hectic. I'll try to give you a heads up when I hit crunch time again once Ultimate Intrigue hits the next design phase.
Jelani: Good call moving Ashan, he's got other plans :>

(Says the werewolf in the lounge chair :D) I think that spider is sufficiently dogpiled without needing anyone else killing it before it goes again ;). I'll be surprised if I get one more round with the Brave Sir Warden before its dead.

Yo, people, new Jelani game coming down the pipe. Peep it:Warlords:Blood, Blade and Bounty

Unfortunately, I have been exposed to the first few books of Way of the Wicked - I ended up quitting the game because the GM was handwaving a lot of combat because he felt it got in the way of the story. I like the story, especially when you've got a group like this one, but I don't feel like the story should completely ignore the mechanics of the game.
Even if this were overlooked, though, I think your campaign would definitely be better populated by those with more roleplaying ability than myself.
Thanks for the offer, though. :-)

1) Just pointing out that I love this game and this group :)
2) I am taking the weekend at the Nurburgring. If you don't know what that is, here's a "Oh, Jesus take the wheel!" video for you...

I did four laps, 3 in my 2008 Mustang GT, and one in my 2012 Focus ;) It was a brilliant way to spend a weekend with the famiy. Even my 15 year old daughter (that said, "oh, it's going to be hot, noisy and stinky.") decided it was awesome :)
