"Angels?" Holg raises an eyebrow and his sword at the same time "Demons or angels we are no supplicants and we have nothing to ask or repent from in front of your fake god. We came here to fight Unity and all of its toys! Now come and give me a good combat!"

Without delay, the gorumite jumps over to attack Unity's heralds while Fireday have them distracted and before they can join forces with their god.

Enemy creatures within 30' are shaken by Holg's frightful aspect.

Casandalee has manifested in this digital realm beside you, taking the form of the beautiful android she was when she was alive. She makes ready for battle as Holg charges at the pair of angels!

Meyanda is reluctant about the whole mind-share thing, but eventually is convinced by the simple expedient that since everyone's going she'll have nothing to do if she sticks around in the "real world."

This almost immediately comes up once everyone awakens in the mindshare. "How... do we know this is real? Or not? How do we know anything is real? What about when we were out, before? Were we really out?"

She makes an incoherent grumbling noise and then says, "This is so much easier when there are just bad things to hit."

~~~~~~~~~~
Having become a bit more accustomed to the oddly-not-disorienting position of being a body translocated into a mental construct plane, Meyanda is only too itching for battle once the foe makes itself known.
"HAH!" she shouts at the "angels'" pronouncement. "We're going to pull this 'heaven' down around your ears and your demigod with it!"
Saving what little magic I have left for the final confrontation... Move action up the stairs to the balcony and cut.
The androids pounce on the first angel, badly wounding it. Molly finishes it off with a pair of bullets, then shifts her aim and unloads another barrage, one of which hits the second angel between the eyes. Both of the creatures quickly fall at your feet, before Holg can even reach them!
But the cleric continues his charge, and you follow along into the building proper. Glowing equations and walls of computer code flicker across the walls of this vast cathedral-like space; the ceiling arches 100 feet overhead. A 60-foot-tall statue of Unity in the form of a beautiful, androgynous angel stands within the cathedral, while coiled at its base is a powerful guardian manifested by the Iron God—a powerful dragon with white scales and glowing blue eyes.
The dragon opens its maw and exhales a blast of freezing cold!
AoO vs Holg: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (11) + 31 = 42
Holg shoulders aside the dragon's snapping jaws as he charges it, delivering a devastating strike with his sword! Fifteen, Fireday, and Meyanda all follow his lead, slicing and stabbing at the dragon's underside. Molly fills its belly with lead, and the wyrm collapses!
But just a moment later, a trio of angelic beings descend from the tower above. Two angels with burning blades flank a glowing golden figure the size of a stone giant. Casandalee glares up at this being. "That is Unity," she says apprehensively.
Unity smiles beatifically down at you. "And here you are at last, within the core of my being, standing before me in glorious idealized incarnations. So magnificent! You have been through my forge, mortals, and have conquered the tasks I have set before you with skill. I have tried to reward you several times by offering to unlock the true potential of your minds! But I realize now that such invitations are futile. Thus, I will grant you your just and deserved oblivion!"
While the others charge forward, Holg steps back and brings another blessing to protect and heal everyone while they fight, casting particulate form.
The prismatic spray wreaks havoc on your party. Meyanda's body stiffens as she is transformed into a stone statue, while Molly disappears entirely!
Molly:
You find yourself standing back in the computer core of Divinity. You can put the mindmelder back on and reconnect to the Godmind to return to the battle, but it will take 1d3 rounds.
Rounds: 1d3 ⇒ 2
However, there is a crash of thunder and an echoing guitar riff as Gorum's herald heeds Holg's call! Harsh flourishes decorate the armor of this ironclad giant, as though it were the war regalia of some merciless warlord. The First Blade raises its bladed fists. "TO GLORIOUS BATTLE!" it declares.
Willing creatures within 100 feet of the First Blade gain the effects of rage automatically, whether they are allies or enemies of the herald. Those who choose not to be affected are immune to the aura until they leave the area and return.
Slams: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 251d20 + 23 ⇒ (4) + 23 = 27
It swings its fists at the angels attacking Holg but doesn't hit. Holg protects the party with a bizarre spell, transforming them into swarms of particles! Fifteen and Fireday flank Unity's avatar and attack, landing a few hits to wound the angelic being.
The lesser angels continue to attack Holg, landing two more hits.
Damage: 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (1, 1) + 19 = 212d6 + 19 ⇒ (3, 3) + 19 = 25
Unity, meanwhile, concentrates on casting a spell defensively. It focuses destructive resonance on Fifteen's body, trying to make her implode!
Concentration: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (15) + 26 = 41
40 damage to Holg after DR. Fifteen must succeed at a DC 26 Fortitude save or take 190 damage from implosion. Everybody may act!
Meanwhile, Fifteen and Firday wreak havoc on Unity's avatar, slicing, stabbing, and burning the A.I.'s incarnated body.
The angel Holg struck counters with its own attacks, but only lands one hit. Unity stabs at Fifteen with its starknife, also only landing one hit.
Fireday pauses, takes a deep breath, and points his weapon at Unity.
"You think you are because you have great power. But all that power blinds you to what truly makes a god worthy of that title: the inspiration they instill in others to follow their example, to live by their creed, the belief in them. Worship is not something that can be demanded, not something that can be forced. In the end, you will stand before the true gods like all of us must. May their judgment of you be merciful, for ours is not!"
"FOR GORUM!" the First Blade echoes Holg's cry, flanking the angel and helping the cleric hack it into bits! Meanwhile, Fifteen and Fireday lacerate and mutilate Unity's avatar. "No! Noooooo000001010010110101!" the A.I. cries out, its final scream ending in a burst of static.
The world inside the Godmind flickers, warps, and then abruptly vanishes. You find yourselves standing back inside the computer core, Molly beside you. The halfling had just been about to upload herself back into the virtual world, but that world is no more.
"And yes, Unity is no more. Fifteen and Fireday taught him a few lessons as they sent him to the Void." the Kellid smiles enthusiastically, looking back to the Divinity Drive "Now what to do with that thing?"
"Shall I bring an earthquake over it and bury it on the vessel's remains?"
"I feel.. strange..." Casandalee says. The image on the datapad holds up her hands, which glow with blue radiance. "Unity is gone, but the shreds and sparks of its divinity linger still within the Divinity Drive. I think that when Unity was destroyed, I absorbed the fragments of its power. I think... I think I am becoming a goddess..."
The image of the android looks up at you. "But what sort of goddess will I become? You have gathered many memory facets over the last few months. You must choose four now to impact my apotheosis, lest I will become corrupted by Unity's essence and fall back into its evil ways. You... you are my friends. I trust the future you will decide for me."
Casandalee with complete her transformation into a goddess in 24 hours. It’s possible to further customize her personality, her alignment, and the domains she can grant by installing memory facets into the sockets of the computer core before the moment of apotheosis.
Only if all four memory sockets are filled will the lingering presence of Unity be overwritten at the moment of apotheosis. In this case, each installed facet grants Casandalee a unique domain and associated subdomain. Her alignment is neutral unless any memory crystals are inserted, in which case it shifts to correspond with those alignments—cruelty and compassion memory crystals cancel each other out and register as neutral if both are installed, and discipline and entropy crystals likewise negate each other’s effects.
Guile: Trickery, Deception
Ingenuity: Artifice, Construct
Holg opens his handy haversack and picks a handful of metal devices gems "You mean this?"
"Well, I am not sure if I want another artificial intelligence taking control of this place, but if so, she must have the Strength to perform glorious fights and defend herself from evil intrusion" the Kellid picks the Ego facet and loads it on the system "I have no idea what we are dealing with though"
Keeping open the bag, he let's the others make their own picks and contribution to the result.
Molly looks over the facets and points to one. "Compassion," she says with confidence. "A goddess needs compassion."
Fifteen waits quietly for Fireday to make his pick - she can't help but feel he has more right than she does to help Casandalee.
Fireday smiles as he and Fifteen strike the final blows, and raises his weapon in salute to Casandalee as they return to the world he knows.
He listens and watches as Casandalee reveals the future in store, and his companions make their choices.
"Compassion is a good decision, Molly. I couldn't agree more. As for what I choose..." he says, moving his hand over multiple facets before settling on one. "Ingenuity. Casandalee, your intelligence led you to see Unity for the monster it truly was, and allowed you to escape its influence and its agents long enough for us to find and save you."
And it grants her domains closest to what she offers in 2e!
After making a decision, he turns and notes the statue that was Meyanda.
"We're going to have to restore her as quickly as possible, though I doubt she'll be pleased we struck the final blow without her."
Even though her player isn't here any more, she recommended to me that we cast Wish or Miracle to guarantee Unity's demise?
Fifteen collects a final facet and slots it into the remaining slot on the Divinity Drive before speaking softly for Casandalee's ears alone.
"Remember, Casandalee. Remember Unity and know where he went wrong. Be better than him and remember for all of us who lose our memories in the passage of time.
Logic facet.
She steps back to join her wife, "I just want to go home." She says simply. "Can we do that now?"
Nodding to Fireday, Holg puts his hands over Gorum's holy symbol and recites a prayer "As your steel breaks the mountain, dent as well the stone that covers your faithful..." casting break enchantment to end the flesh to stone effect.
"I think I will go check how things are going for Kaska and let her know there is nothing for her to fear from Silver Mount now" putting finally his greatsword to rest, he also asks "What are we doing about the other androids that were living here. Shall we go convince them they are free now?"
"I believe we may want to wait, at least for a day or two," Fireday replies. "We're weary from battle, and I don't want to accidentally start another with them by telling them in so many words 'your god is dead.' That kind of shock following how much we've already interfered with their lives...it could hurt them in ways we can't imagine. It's a project I imagine is best taken slow."
And so, you emerge from Silver Mount triumphant. You have removed from Numeria a vast and sinister threat—one that very few people outside of your own group and a few key members of what survives of the Technic League will ever know about. There are no accolades or rewards waiting for you, yet you know that you have done well, for had Unity succeeded, its “faith” would have spread like a virus through the world—a virus spread by word of mouth that destroys free will and makes those who succumb eternal slaves to the Iron God in the skies above.
The Black Sovereign, Kaska, is grateful for your efforts and throws you a lavish party in the palace to celebrate your success. With the weakened Technic League under her heel, it would seem that Numeria's future under her rule will be brighter indeed...
Without Deacon Hope or Unity to guide them, the androids that dwell on the recreation deck are adrift. They likely won't survive for long left to their own devices, but they will need extensive aid in order to adapt to a world outside of Silver Mount...
And, thanks to your effort, a new Iron Goddess now dwells within Silver Mount. But Casandalee will no doubt be a benevolent deity, espousing the tenets of Compassion, Ego, Ingenuity, and Logic. As with Unity, Casandalee’s power is limited to within Silver Mount, unless you make the choice to transfer her consciousness, along with the Divinity Drive, into the shuttle that Unity had prepared. If you wish, you can make it so that Casandalee can reach orbit above Golarion and ascend to full demigod status to spread her faith across the globe...
Fireday doesn't break stride in the following weeks and months following Unity's defeat. He spends a great deal of time travelling between the depths of Silver Mount and Starfall above, offering his service and guidance to the recreation deck's androids.
He breaks the news of Unity's death as steadily and gently as he can, and while he educates on Iomedae to any who ask, he tries not to actively proselytize to them, knowing they may simply desire something to replace Unity with rather than simply trying to understand what The Inheritor asks of her faithful. Topside in Starfall, he leverages his celebrity as one of the Torchbearers to advocate for the rights and dignity of the android people in Numeria, doing everything he can to make the lives of his fellow androids easier so when the time is right, those androids who wish to leave Silver Mount and join the world above enter a world that will accept them as brothers and sisters, just as the Red Talons did for him.
He visits Casandalee often during these times, and discusses with Kaska and the others the option of helping her use the Divinity Drive. He very strongly advocates doing so, if only to ensure it is used by someone they know they can trust with its power, as well as the creation of a goddess androids can truly call their own, the same way Iomedae was for humans.
Combined Molly and Fifteen post ...
Twenty years later ...
"How's this look?" the boy asked excitedly as he presented the thick steel rod to the appraising halfling.
"Nope," Molly said after a moment of careful examination. "Ya got gaps here and here," she continued, pointing out the flaws with a calloused finger. "Aw, man!" the boy declared in frustration. "Can't I just fix those with a weld?"
"Only if you want the bloody thing blowing up in yer face," Molly replied with a chuckle. "Ya think I got these marks because Fifteen's a biter?" She points to a couple of small scars near her lips and one near her eye.
"If I were a biter, would not it be more likely that you would have scars on your ..." Fifteen interjects.
"The point being," Molly continues, cutting off her wife, "It needs to be perfect or I won't let you move on ta the next step,"
"Aw, man," the boy repeats with a sigh before moving back to reheat the metal.
"I've seen you patch stock like that before," Fifteen questions her wife with a raised eyebrow. Molly shakes her head. "If Markus plans on forging a pistol, then it'll bloody well be perfect. I'll not have a son of ours running around with anything less."
Fifteen looks thoughtful for a moment before the connection is made. "You plan to have it enchanted," she declares. Molly gives her wife a wink. "No Fairlocks is going to be armed with a run-o-the-mill weapon if I have anything to say about it."
As the boy works away at the bellows, his mothers watch in silence. Eventually Molly speaks.
"I, uh ... I forgot how to get home today," she says with a frown. "I picked up some vegetables from Tassies and stepped out into the square and realized that I had no idea where we lived. I probably stood there a good ten minutes before that nosey Bonnie Banks asked me if I was thinking about something important. I snapped at her and told her that everything I think about is important and picked a direction and started walking." Molly looks up at her wife. "It took me another five minutes to realize that I was walking in the wrong direction."
She takes a ragged breath.
"I don't know how long ... how long it'll be before I get as bad as m' mam was, but ... promise me that you'll take steps before then, ok? I don't want to put you and Markus through that."
"You know that I will not do that," Fifteen replies. "We are your family. You will be with us as long as possible. I am not giving up on the helmet, I need more time, but you are strong, and brilliant. I will not let you go. You are going to see our grandchildren if I have to return to the Silver Mountain and beg Casandalee for her intercession."
The android turns to look down at her wife, interlinking their fingers in a gesture that is completely natural for them both after two decades that have left Fifteen untouched and streaked Molly's once brown hair with grey. "I love you, Molly, and I do not intend to let this..." She bites back the words 'instability, flaw, defect'. Once upon a time she's used each and every one and each time her wife has crumpled in front of her. Fifteen is dangerously intelligent and although she doesn't understand people, she knows her Molly. So she smiles and carries on. "Illness, get the better of us. You stay here and watch Markus. I will make dinner."
In the privacy of the kitchen Fifteen closes her eyes briefly. Casandalee, hear my prayer. Help my Molly. Hold her memories safe until I can finish my work, until I can save her. Please. She works efficiently to prepare dinner and set the stew bubbling before slipping away to the workshop she maintains adjacent to Molly's smithy.
In contrast to Molly's smithy, a paragon of a craft refined over centuries, Fifteen's workshop is a sterile and pristine place. Under the aegis of Kaska the Black Sovereign the android has accumulated technological secrets that would shock even hardened members of the Technic League. Sitting on a table in the centre of the room is an odd helmet, with large packs on each side and a single wire trailing from the back.
Fifteen clicks the light on, activates a small pane of glass and begins to speak in clear, clinical tones. "Twenty seventh of Gozran, test three hundred and eighty two, variant beta." She flicks open a small socket behind her wrist and connects the wire, before speaking the ritual words that she has recorded faithfully every test since the very first test of the very first prototype.
"For Molly."
Holg is happy to emerge victorious and enjoys the more fatuous party of all their adventure, taking all the food and drink Kaska's kitchen has to offer and retelling once and again how the group destroyed Unity "And so Fiffteen cut the avatar from the back while Fireday smashed it in the front. I was just to call an earthquake and collapse everything over us, but they did it! It was a great battle! For the Torch Bearers!" he offers another toast and drinks.
After the party, Holg visits the tattoo cyberart saloon. Next to the tattoo in his back depicting Hellion's defeat, next to the tattoo in his chest fighting in the swamps of the Valley of the Spiders, and opposite to the one in his right arm defeating Xoud in the Choking Tower, the Kellid takes a new gorgeously animated tattoo in the other arm to forever remember their epic fight against Unity in the Divinity, under Silver Mount.
During the next days, Holg joins Fireday exploring Silver Mount, and making sure no robot remains a danger to Numeria. He trusts Fireday on activating the Divinity Drive for Casandalee, and enjoys defeating all the robots that cannot be put under orders of the new goddess.
Eventually though, the dangers are neutralized and the task of exploring and understanding the meaning of the trove of artifacts left there below, he leaves it to Fifteen and others who want to understand how to use this technology to make this world better.
The Kellid attempts to help Kaska secure her ruling, giving spiritual guidance and raising the morale of the Numerians that have been for just too long under the Technic League despotic regime. The work is tough and needed but after a year, Holg is just tired of palace intrigues. The subtleties of ruling are not ones he is good fitted for and eventually it becomes clear it is better for him to look in another direction.
Deciding he is prepared for it, Holg directs himself to the North, to the Worldwound. There he joins the crusaders that desperately fight the demons pouring out into the world of Golarion. The time there is dire, and yet the man fits perfectly, fighting host after host of demons. The battle against the forces of the Abyss seem never-ending, and yet he fights each day as if there will be no more. And so, Holg kept fighting until the last of the demons was brought back to their rift between planes.
Many many years after, Holg returns to Torch. Almost a venerable man, there he meets back with Khonnir and Val Baine. He passes the nights explaining all the adventures the Torch Bearers went through and the fights he found thereafter. On the mornings, he spends his time teaching new young Kellids on the ways of the old Kellids, the traditional art of the sword and the faith one must wear like an armor, an Iron Armor, to survive. He explains to the young ones about Casandalee the android in the stars and how he and his friends shaped her and put her there up.
But most important for him is his reencounter with Viv "Here I am as I promised" Despite their old age now, the years seem to have printed their passing much more softly on the android. And there, in the arms of his old lover, on the last years of his life, the faithful and furious warrior, finally finds the end of his adventures and discovers the overjoying happiness of Peace.
Once Casandalee has ascended, Fireday busies himself with aiding and advising Kaska, keeping an eye on the Technic League's remnants, inviting Iomedaeans from Castle Urion to the Capital to ingratiate themselves with the new Black Sovereign, and helping the fledgling church of Casandalee establish themselves.
Over the next year, Fireday quickly becomes as much a fixture of the city's politics, using his share of the wealth they recovered to fund a number of building and infrastructure projects, while preaching to the growing Iomedaean congregation in Starfall. He settles into an administrative role so thoroughly that when Holg makes his way to the Worldwound, Fireday reluctantly tells him that he won't be joining him. He felt he was needed more in Numeria. He provides a contingent of crusaders to accompany Holg, and gives his blessing.
In just a few years, a new structure stands in Starfall; the Starsteel Cathedral, a grand ecumenical home for the faithful of Numeria built from conventional stone and recovered steel and starmetals. Iomedaean crusaders sparred with Gorumite warlords, priests of Brigh and Casandalee studied and tinkered together while Desnans watched the stars. It was here where Fireday welcomed Holg after the Worldwound had closed, and bade him farewell as he went to pursue more battles.
Years later, Fireday visited Torch, where it all began. He greeted his fellow Torch Bearers warmly, and reminisced fondly about the long, grueling journey they had shared together to make Numeria a better place. He watched as Molly and Fifteen played with their young son, who took after both his mothers in the best ways. He watched as Holg reunited with Viv and seemed to relax in a way he'd never known the energetic warrior to do. But soon it is time for Fireday, who the oral tales of the Kellids and the annals of Iomedaean history would remember as the Saint of Starmetal, to return home.
At last, we have reached the end of this tale of adventure! The story of the heroes who defeated the Iron Gods is over, but there are many more stories still to be told. For in Golarion, adventure is just around the next corner!
