Here is my submission for Hargrim. I'm currently a bit feverish and loopy, so there may be some mistakes that I was hoping to catch on a final reread but didn't. There are a few things missing from my build, (including the lack of a statblock for my AC), that I can hammer out if I'm selected. I'd also be interested in figuring out the optimization level of the rest of the party to determine if I should change any build details.

I decided to go with hunter after all because I think it will be more fun for me. Additionally, I like the Divine Hunter Archetype for this campaign, as I see my character's companion as being put there by Asmodeus as a guide. As my character grows in level, they will get a domain and their companion will get the fiendish template. I also anticipate an alignment shift towards lawful.
For race points, I wasn't super sure what to pick, so I just went with two powerful options, static bonus feat (Iron Will) and improved initiative, both of which cost 2 rp. I think they're fairly fitting, my character spent a lot of time being bullied and in high stress situations, and also had to endure many harsh conditions that could lead to a strong will. I'm not attached to these options, and would definitely consider changing them, especially if they result in too much optimization.
Swapped in the cradle. A mother’s hand, tender and loving, gave her babe away in hopes that he might have a better life. For a time, he did. Rogar Goldshaper, his false father Rory Goldshaper called him, and treated him with the love and care that befits a dwarf of fine birth. He was a handsome and strong child, with a thick beard and a strong arm. But he was no Goldshaper.
It was a wizard’s child who spilled the secret. ”I know something you don’t know,” he had japed one afternoon as they played on the grass. ”Something your father won’t like. Not one bit.” Dread had touched Rogar in the pit of his stomach. ”Shut up Jojen,” he had said, over and over. When he got home, he saw that his father had called a meeting of friends and relatives. ”Bring forth the nursemaid,” Rory had commanded, his voice sharp as flint. Jojen the wizard’s boy watched Rogar with smug satisfaction.
”Please, my lord, you must protect my child. Your child,” the nursemaid stuttered. Rogar looked on in horror as her story unfolded. She was in dire financial straits, and had gotten a loan which she couldn’t repay. Her creditors were threatening her, and she feared for the safety of her child. The child she had swapped Rogar for. Which meant that Rogar’s own blood was... ”Foul and treacherous, you are a blight upon the land,” Rory pronounced upon Rogar’s mother. A verdict was rendered. The trueborn Goldshaper child would be returned to his rightful place. The treacherous nursemaid, Rogar’s mother, was turned over to the authorities and never heard from again. And the lowborn child, who was Rogar Stoneshaper no longer?
He was cast aside like a broken tool. Hargrim Slagchild was his new name. He was given a small sack of coins and an apprenticeship to an armorer, a dwarf as hard as the metal she shaped. Living with her was hell. ”You’re no dwarf at all,” she would tell him when she beat him, ”dwarves can work a forge. You’re just a stupid changeling boy, with no place in the world. Now polish the rest of that plate before sunrise, or I’ll ship you off to the drow.” Frequently the target of bullies, Hargrim’s nose was broken often, and never healed right. Pox took him one year and nearly killed him, leaving his skin pitted and scarred.
As soon as he was able, Hargrim left and never looked back. Unwilling to join a gang of organized criminals, and without any real skills with which he could make a living, he soon found himself in the wilderness, struggling to survive. He was starving, sleeping by day and stealing food by night. That was when he found her.
She was caged, along with many other wolves. But the trappers feared her all the same. Hargrim could see it in their eyes, the way they shied away when she snapped growled at the bars. Hargrim could see, too, that the other wolves kept their distance. But there was something in her bright red eyes that tugged at his soul. In the night, he crept into the trapper’s camp. She was awake, and watched him silently while he opened her cage. The other wolves snarled, falling upon the trappers with reckless fury. But she stayed still and silent, the jet black fur of her heckles smooth and relaxed.
After that, Hargrim and his wolf were inseparable. Nybass, he named her, though he could not say where the name came from. She showed him how to survive, and how to kill. There was something profane about her, a germ of power, that Hargrim knew would grow if only he could nurture it. But first, Nybass nurtured him, awakening savage magic that he had never known he possessed.
Feeling strong and whole for the first time since he had been ripped from his false family, Hargrim set about getting revenge. That was what they caught him for. Jojen, the wizard’s child, the one who had betrayed him, was Hargrim’s target. The huge dwarf caught the boy unawares, clumsy fingers hot around his neck. A stray traveler in the countryside was one thing, but a brazen murder in the midst of a city was another. When they found Jojen’s body, mangled and bitten, a cry was raised. Alas, that Nybass had been away hunting, or else Hargrim would surely have escaped.
Hargrim made promises to the guards who held him down and branded him. He talked with them about their mothers and children. When they were done kicking him, they dragged him off to Branderscar. All along the way he could hear Nybass howling. The bonds of loyalty can tie one to the grave, he thought to himself when he heard her voice. He knew he was on his way to his death. But he thought of the time that he saved her. The gods sent me to open her cage. Perhaps she will free me from mine.
I'm in my 20s and have been RPGing for quite a few years now. I stopped playing tabletop due to the pandemic and turned to PbP, which I've enjoyed. My first ever post on the boards was a recruitment post for a homebrew PbP I was GMing, which finished in January. I wanted to keep PbPing, and three out of four of my players stuck with me as we started a new game, which is currently in the early stages. I've GMd five other players on the boards. I haven't looked into your posting history enough to know who you've played with, to be honest it didn't take me that long to reach a conclusion about you, but if you've played with any of these people you can feel free to ask them about me.
Edeldhur. Solicitor. CampinCarl. ZahirIbnMahmoudIbnJothan. Clebsch.
I've also joined two games as a player. One game I joined without conducting enough research on, and didn't find that I enjoyed very much. I think I had improper expectations. I left when I realized that I wasn't having much fun. The other game I joined is currently on hiatus. The GM left due to personal reasons, but has plans to return within a month or so. I've enjoyed that game a lot, but it hasn't gone too far yet. I've looked at a few other recruitment threads the past few weeks, so far this one has looked the most promising. I'm not going to link the players I've been in games with, except for Axolotl, who I've done a bit of RP with.
As a GM, I've always preferred running setting light, high ambience homebrew games with a heavy focus on tactical play and strong standalone thematic elements. As a player, I like to feel challenged. I enjoy RPing with other players, but I need to spend time getting to know my characters in a way that some don't. I don't like reading lore, despite the fact that I enjoy fantasy novels. In the PbP format, I've found that I have fairly strong creative writing skills, which I'd like to continue to develop. I haven't played in a lot of adventure paths, or with a super wide range of other players.

Now the only question is just how seriously I take the 'basically no body' bit... heck, let's go whole hog just for the funs!
Focus: Charisma
Foible: Constitution
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
So I'm going for 'Mind over Matter'
Str 11
Dex 11
Con 8
Int 14
Wis 14
Cha 18.
Should be fun! :)
I'm going to be going Astomoi mesmerist - previously employed as a rather excellent sneak thief/mental manipulator. I noted that the GM isn't familiar with occult, but I'm hoping since Mesmerists are basically just bards who hurt the other guy rather than buffing their allies that it won't be a problem.

Lets make a list!
Mostly finished characters:
Kib Redtail
Munchkin Peon Notes: LE Kobold sorceror, presumably average pyromaniac tendencies, for a red dragon descended Kobold, has assured me personally that he is very helpfull is he not?
Dylans comment: Kobold sorceror prettiest is yesyes! I am also getting chew materials at level 4! Lets chew some well roasted Mithrans!
Aggghhh The Unclean
Munchkin Peon Notes: Am Orc want Smesh, 26 Strength when raging and someone gets the cunning idea to cast enlarge person on him? Smesh intensifies. Someone get him an Orc Butchering axe please?
Dylans comment: Angry Orc Barbarian is angry! Angrier then me even!
WiktorHrobka
Munchkin Peon Notes: LE Human Crossblooded (Ghoul + Infernal) sorceror, limited spell selection due to crossblooded, but cause fear is quite effective at lower levels.
Dylans comment: All he wanted to do was to have Mithrans particpate in "Iron Chef!" in all positions! Lets not be speciesist with our cooking!
Bite attacks for the win! Mithrans taste well when grilled!
AudiIbnJad
Munchkin Peon notes: LE Orc. Ah, int based full caster from a class I barely know mixing 2 archetypes I know even less off! Yay! Honestly, I have no idea how this plays, certainly looks like debuffs galore? Also a surprisingly good face on account of the often overlooked overlooked mastermind trait.
Dylans comment: Finally someone else who appreciates the art multiple capital criming on a single day!
Prisoner 1732
Munchkin peon notes: LE Evil Oracle, intends to go Oracle kineticist, ranged support and healing I guess? Very high CHA.
Dylans comment: Hej, Split personalities, maybe some are good in splitting skulls too?
Harrim
Munchkin Peon Notes: NE Dwarf Divine Hunter, STR based, probably going to combo melee with his trusty animal friend?
Dylans comment: A Dorf and his wolf, perhaps a mounted build incoming? I dont mind Canines btw. its more of a small cat thing.
Leralesti
Munchkin Peon Notes: LE Svirnebli wisdom based Dex Bard, very high perception, decently tanky.
Dylands notes: Oh, an evil stone gnome! Rarite bonus! And it boosts all of my natural attack rawwwrrr!
Dylan Ap Dryfedd
Munchkin Peon Notes: Build in a way to be an extremely smug charismatic bastard, can fight without using much in terms of weaponry and even scout somewhat due to see in darkness. Heavily exploitable willsave. Is an Urban Bloodrager, so his willsave does not increase while raging.
Dylans notes: Pick mee Nya!
Sane 4-wall breaking Mithran inquisitor Amberly Veil note: Whatever villains travel with this one will certainly be happy that this is not Ruins of Azlant or Wrath of the righteous. Our holy inquisition should certainly invest in some means of mind control, but thankfully this particular villain shall soon find his well deserved end, right, right?

The fires of God are hotter to me than all the pleasures of this dead life, fleeting and loaned.
I'd like to submit The Pious One, an Evangelist Cleric slave-priest of Asmodeus.
The law of Cheliax is not gentle to those who fail to repay their debts.
That is how the Pious One found himself on the slave auction block, put up for sale, humiliated, brought low, his life of privilege at an utter and final end... and unbeknownst to him, a new and very different life about to begin.
For he caught the eye, not of some petty merchant or aristocrat in search of mere labor, but of a witch and priestess of Hell. It was she who broke his former wilfulness and taught him discipline in the service of her merciless god. It was she who baptised him into a new life, not with water, but with his own blood drawn by the whip. And it was she who, when after a thousand torments she finally judged him ready, sent him forth with her blessing, selling him on again to be the slave, not of any mortal man, but of a god. The God. The King of Hell.
In a strange way, the Pious One considers that all this was a mercy. An unearned grace. A second chance to tame the demons that once led him to ruin his own life.
For the Pious One is no longer the man who was brought to the auction block. Reborn in that drawn-out and bloody baptism, he now goes forth to preach the same gospel that her whip carved into his flesh: the gospel of piety and subjugation, the gospel of discipline and punishment.
He who has eyes to see, let him see. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
What is your character’s name?
The Pious One. The Pious One had another name once, but it was taken from him upon becoming a slave.
2. How old is your character?
About thirty, but he isn't sure exactly.
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
This Taldan man is bare from the waist up, a decision that draws immediate attention to the mass of scars that crisscross his ridged and mutilated body. His dark eyes gleam, set deep in his tightly drawn, angular face, but when he fixes his glare upon a rival, they smolder with a hidden light.
The Pious One keeps himself clean-shaven all over, and he usually carries little gear on his person.
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?
The Pious One is not quick-tongued or glib; he often speaks slowly, rarely answering casually or off the cuff and often taking a moment to gather his thoughts. Despite this, his words, when they come, often come with fervent intensity.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
The Pious One was born in Cheliax, heir to a minor aristocratic family of Taldan descent. He was nominally raised by his parents through childhood, though actually largely by servants.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
Neither parent is alive. They were minor nobility whose wealth and lifestyle were inherited.
7. Do you have any other family or friends?
The Pious One's long-term owner before he was sold to the god Asmodeus was the Red Witch, a formidable scarred witch with hellish powers and a harsh disciplinarian whom the Pious One greatly respects and - in truth - also deeply fears. He suspects that their paths will one day cross again.
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
The man who would become The Pious One had several children from various unhealthy relationships, all out of wedlock and none cared for. His enslavement severed all bonds of kinship in the eyes of society and law, and since then, his embrace of asceticism has meant he has fathered no more children - nor does he acknowledge any responsibility or kinship to those from his previous life.
9. What is your character’s alignment?
Lawful Evil.
10. What is your character’s moral code?
Practice asceticism and obedience to the will of the King of Hell, taming unhealthy desires with punishment. Act in accordance with the knowledge that a small part of the God of Slavery's infinite honor is reflected in the moral conduct of his servants; do not act so as to tarnish that reflection, but rather, be steadfast and reliable to God and to one's comrades.
11. Does your character have goals?
To spread the gospel of piety and subjugation. To further tread the path of ascetic enlightenment, leaving behind petty dualisms. To see the will of the Devil God done, even if it requires transcending the bounds of strict Church orthodoxy.
12. Is your character religious?
Very.
13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
The Pious One believes that the experience of slavery saved his otherwise wasted life from his own willfulness and lack of self-discipline. The experience of being made to learn to obey another was traumatic, but ultimately, once he did learn, the discipline of obeying another translated easily into the self-discipline necessary to obey himself. This dark and bloody experience is at the heart of his religious philosophy.
The Pious One has also been taught that all Creation and everyone in it is - in the long run, and regardless of their personal morals - inescapably damned. Even those who die and go to the Realms Above merely postpone the day of reckoning, for the heavens themselves will not endure. All creatures that come into being do so in a universe that is already past the divine event horizon of Asmodeus, and there is no escape - whether their path to the central singularity that is Hell is long or short.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
The Pious One can be oddly tolerant of even dramatically opposing beliefs; his process of judging whether to oppose, ignore, or even ally and work with those who do not share his faith is idiosyncratic, informed by mysticism and meditated revelation as much as by logic. There is no need to personally oppose and cast down all who do not acknowledge the King of Hell. All are damned to Hell in the end, and in a cosmic sense, it does not truly matter if they attempt to resist that fate. It only truly matters from the individual's own perspective.
15. Why does your character adventure?
Enlightenment arises out of the crucible of pain. Seeking battle tests that enlightenment. In victory, wisdom will be reaffirmed and power honed. In defeat, one's own failings will be exposed, that they might be cauterized and burnt away.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
As a journey of self-realization. As a holy mission to gain strength and hone himself as God's tool. These two are, in fact, one.
17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
The Pious One bears extensive and severe scarring from whipping and other, still more terrible punishments and tortures during his time as the property of a Scarred Witch.
18. How does your character get along with others?
Idiosyncratically. The Pious One does not have -friends-, per se, but he is a faithful ally to those he has determined will be his allies, a stern teacher and master to any who may come under his dominion, and a bitter and devoted enemy to those who oppose him. His fervent intensity of character can sometimes drive ordinary people away, but other times it can aid his words in making a real impact upon their hearers.
19. Is there anything that your character hates?
The mortal world is plagued with many grave sins. Ignorance. Corruption. Weakness. Indiscipline. Dissolution. Burn these sins away in the crucible of punishment.
20. Is there anything that your character fears?
The Pious One is a God-fearing man, but almost equally, he fears and respects the priestess who first bought him from the auction block, the Red Witch, whose evil eye was always able to pierce his resolve and lay bare all his moral weaknesses. It was she who broke his former wilfulness and taught him the service of her merciless god, and it was she who, when she felt he was ready, sold him to be the slave, not of any mortal man, but of that very god himself.
At those times when his own weakness or irresolve has troubled The Pious One, she sometimes still invades his dreams, an unapproachable shadowy figure clad in burgundy and masked in an ivory devil-mask, saying nothing, only watching. He has always interpreted these dreams as a silent warning not to waste his second chance at life, for there will be no third.
First, heads up, I have partly played this campaign twice before. Both games ended prematurely due to GM burnout; the longer of the two reached the early parts of Book Three. Therefore, though I imagine that both GMs changed some things and that you might too, I know something about the general campaign plot and background, especially of the first few adventures.
This doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother you - I figure it's an older adventure, so previous exposure is pretty likely for many players - but if it does bother you and you'd rather go with a player who is new to the plot, no worries. Otherwise, my general philosophy on this is that it's an opportunity to make a character who will be inclined to work with the adventure, be receptive to key early scenes, etc.
Second: The first post talks about reliability, etc. I have played (briefly) with Monkeygod before, in the Into the Abyss campaign which ended due to GM disappearance. More broadly, I have only played in a handful of PBP games on these boards, but I have never ghosted any of them and I have the somewhat rare experience (since most games die) of actually having finished a Paizo PBP adventure.
Third: Background details are of course open to change as needed to fit in with how you're placing Talingarde in Golarion. I don't know a ton about Golarion as a setting, especially outside the main countries.
Dice:
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Hahahahaha, net +0. Looks like it'll be something single-ability. Str 10, Dex 8, Con 11, Int 8 (foible - thanks for the 4 base skill points), Wis 18 (focus), Cha 12 makes a tolerable caster cleric.
I know the adventure starts you out in a gearless prison cell, so I'm not bothering with starting gold.

Akukho |

Slipping in under the wire with my Astromoi Mesmerist - Akukho. (I'm reusing the profile so I'll change the picture to something more fitting if he's selected). All of the crunch is in the profile, I'm putting the fluff in here since it spoilers nicely but the mechanics are mostly done. There's a few bits that need checking/changing but I figured that can wait for if he's actually picked. I'll lay them out below though just for the sake of disclosure.
1. Astomoi don't get to speak Shadowtongue but I figured it was very appropriate for someone who summons shadowbeasts to do his dirty work. If that's a problem I will happily change it.
2. I want to take Augment Summoning for my shadow summons and the prereq is Spell Focus (Conjuration) but the spell description for Shadow Summoning says that its an illusion with the shadow descriptor, so I wasn't sure if it makes more sense to use Spell Focus (Illusion) as the prereq instead? I'll take Spell Focus either way, just not sure which school
3. I haven't picked traits yet because I wasn't sure if we were using the crimes with mechanical effects from the players guide or just normal traits and having the crime as pure fluff. If selected I'll make selections and tidy up.
”Help me! Let me out! I’m sorry!”
“Sorry? You ripped that Garrick’s chest open and you think ‘sorry’ is going to cut it? You’re in Brandescar now, scum! You’re going to die, but you’re going to have a nice long rest in the Black Cell first. Teach you to kill one of Mitra’s servants.”
”No! Please! You don’t understand! There’s something in here! It’s in my head. I can hear it! Whispering to me! Please, you have to let me out!”
So soon, Piotr? It’s almost as though you don’t like me. How unkind, and I was going to bring some friends to meet you…
-----------------------------------------------
“Warden, what happened here?”
“I’m not sure, Governor. We put this one in the Black Cell as ordered. Piotr Melik, he’s the one that killed Garrick three days ago. He was babbling about hearing voices in his head but they always do that once they’re in the Cell.”
”And is it normal for prisoners in the Black Cell to be found in pieces without a drop of blood to be found?”
“Err… No sir. Normally we leave them in there for a few days and then they come out. Meek as mice most of them. We had that witch from Farholde last year. Remember when he was burned, repeated all the prayers and went to meet Mitra with a smile on his lips? He spent three days in the Black Cell. Told me that after that the fire was a blessing.”
“There is the ghost, Warden.”
“Shut up Hurald. The Governor doesn’t need to hear your ridiculous stories.”
”Hold on Warden, I’d like to hear this man speak. Guardsman… Hurald was it? Tell me, what ghost are you talking about? Do I need a Brother of Alerion here?”
”No sir. It’s just… when I started here I was told about the Ghost of the Black Cell. They said that there’s a prisoner in there – some sort of spirit. It was fifty years ago – they caught the Shadow of Ghastenhall and imprisoned him here. Put blessed wards on the door to keep him there until he could be burned. But the Asmodeans, may Mitra cleanse them with his light, tied the case up for years and years. By the time the verdict came down the man or whatever it was had just… gone. Faded away they said and the cell was dark. Always dark. That’s why we keep two torches burning down there. Old Kenren who was here before me, he said if we ever let the torches go out then the ghost will slip past the wards – we still take a meal down there every day when we check the torches, you see –“
”That’s enough boy! I’m sorry Governor, I’ll make sure this superstitious nonsense is dealt with at once. I had no idea they were wasting good food like that.”
”It’s quite alright Warden. We can afford a few extra torches for the comfort of our guardsmen. You do a fine job men, you should be commended. I’ll send down a bottle for you to share. Mitra’s blessing on you all.”
“And on you sir. Three cheers for the governor lads! Thank you sir.”
Yes, thank you Governor, for the fine meal. Do send me another one soon.
“Are you quite alright sir? You’ve gone white.”
”Yes… yes I’m fine Warden. It was the draught down here. A trick of the wind. I’ll send that wine down for the end of your shift. Wait! Do you hear that? The scratching?”
“No sir. Probably just the rats sir. Quite a lot of them on these lower levels.”
”Ahh. Right. Rats… yes. Thank you Warden.”
”Did you see that Warden? The Governor heard something he did! You saw how quickly he ran out of here. It’s the ghost, I’m telling you!”
“Hurald. You’re going to shut up right now or I’m putting you in the Black Cell to make the point. There. Is. No ghost in the Black Cell!”
If only they knew…
P.S. Having read the list of submissions with interest, I'd love to get a Dylan note on Akukho... ;)

Monkeygod |

Don't mind me, I just totally forgot to roll my dice....
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Well dang!
Focus: Int
Foible: Str.
Stats: Str 8, Dex 17, Con 9, Int 18, Wis 13, Cha 17. With race adjustments: Dex 19, Wis 11, Cha 19.
GM: I would like to take Cat's Claws(two claws, 1d4 damage) and Clever Cat(+2 to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Sense Motive checks).
They both replace Natural Hunter, which is 6 RP. However, claws only actually cost 2 RP via the race builder, while clever cat is 6 RP.
The total RP would be 17, far under the max of 30.
Would that be okay?
