I've always just assumed pathfinder was the stereotypical wizard mentor and student but it just occured to me the magaambyan institute at least is a proper school of magic teaching largeish amounts of students and it got me wondering are there other magical institutes a player wizard could come from if they don't want the druidic slant?

I am aware of the following:

The Acadamae in Korvosa
The Stone of the Seers in Magnimar
The Arcanamirium in Absalom

But the Magaambya Institute is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious Magic college and #2 isn't particularly close.

Thanks, I assume there's an equal level of difficulty into getting into number 1 compared to the others.

Korvosa also has Theumanexus College.

City of Katheer in Qadira has a "number of arcane colleges", of which the Mage of the Veil archetype is a product of.

There is a long list of arcane colleges in the Wiki. Everything from small colleges that barely get any info, to highly important ones like the Academae of Korvosa. With topics ranging from general wizardry to highly specialized topics such as specific schools or subschools of magic.

It's safe to say that most of the large countries with a even a tiny focus on Wizadry has at least 1 college.

In my personal opinion one of if not the most prestigious is the Travelling College of Cobyslami. The reason being that it is constantly traveling on the back of its founder through the first world.

One mustn't forget about the Kitharodian Academy, located in Oppara... although, the Kith is mostly for Bards.

A linkified listing for what Temperans mentioned. :)

Scarab Sages

I'll take a look at them.
