I'm not super familiar with all of these characters the Thaumaturge has been compared to but I would like to familiarize myself more with them for inspiration (when I have the time and my attention span allows :P ).
So, I'd like to see what all characters from movies, comic books, literature and other stuff that people think could be considered Thaumaturges. The class really does come off as pretty broad so I guess be reasonable about it (like, Constantine sounds reasonable but Superman would be a big NO).
I'll start off with the characters I've seen mentioned a lot and a couple I haven't seen come up yet:
John Constantine
Harry Dresden
Abraham Van Helsing
Hellboy
James Keziah Delaney (from Taboo)

The Winchesters
TreseI think a good case could be made for Geralt and also (maybe a stretch) Tajiro from Demonslayer (weapon implement).
I was thinking of Geralt as well, he uses a lot of folklore to do stuff in his contracts. The bigger ones require him knowing lots of obscure lore and using the right items. However, his Silver Sword often is enough to most creatures (with some creatures in the book being killed by normal steel as well).
If the Thaumaturge keeps its current high damage per attack playstyle, I'll definitely be leaning more towards Geralt-inspired characters for sure. I've tried to do with Mutagenists before, but they all resulted in absolute failures and disappointment given the base class, maybe Thaumaturges with archetypes maybe what I'm looking for.

You know, I've never been an anime person and my closest friends are always recommending a ton of them to me but with this one being so short, I might take you up on that. Thanks.

If it's any consolation, it's not very anime-y, just the style. Honestly gives me a lot of dresden/Constantine vibes but she's definitely more stoic

Sam Winchester. (I dont' think Dean is.)
Arguably Morpheus might be. His combat style in the movies (Matrix) evolved in such a way that he takes a moment to analyze the enemy and fights as approriate. but he could also be an investigator.
I'd really argue that Adlet Meyers from Rokka no Yuusha is one. He is a mundane human in a world of super powers folks. but he keeps up. Mainly through using poisons (that seem to work regardless), coatings on his blades. or specially made from obscure materials that are perfectly targeting the monster's allergy weakness to kill them. He figures out monsters on the regular to figure out their oddities to target them better.

Not a Thaumaturge per se, but I think the scene from Fright Night about the heroes confronting the vampire with a cross shows well the difference between knowing something is supposed to work (the old hero) and actually making it work because you have full confidence that it works (the young hero). The former is RK with INT and does not work. The latter IMO is FF/EA with CHA and it works.

Weirdly enough I would consider Dr Strange post-Empirikul a thaumaturge (And a charisma one at that), using various random items with vaguely magical properties to try to just beat up their enemies instead of casting spells himself. Covering a baseball bat with enchanted barbed wire so you can beat up a spirit with it is pretty much the pinnacle of thaumaturge.

I watched Trese and a few animated DC movies with Constantine over the weekend. Trese is DEFINITELY a Thaumaturge. Constantine has similar vibes but has significant spellcasting abilities outside of what the Thaumaturge can offer on its own. I can understand the debate on if Constantine is a good example of the class.
