(PFS2) (#1-05) "Trailblazers’ Bounty"

Recruitment

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Greetings,
As the title, this is a recruitment thread for 3-5 players of levels 1st through 4th to play the 2nd Edition Pathfinder Society Scenario "Trailblazers’ Bounty" written by Tineke Bolleman.

Open Recruitment
I will hold Open Recruitment through the week. Check out my own Aliases, whether running a game (DM / GM / QM Aliases), or playing a game (Organized Play Characters), to get a glimpse of the kind of game I run. I picked this scenario because I enjoy the Exploration mode of play it offers.

Expectations
Slightly faster than Standard, posting an average of more than once per day, in keeping "pace" in play-by-post somewhat brisk. Also, we will be using Google Drive to share Handouts and Maps, so you will need access to that to participate. When relaying in-game information, I like to write descriptive story text, encourage character and group discussion, and interpret game mechanics is light of that process. That is my "GM style" if you will. Again, check out my Aliases to see what I mean.

New Players Welcome
An additional expectation of our veteran players (GM included) is to use the Discussion Tab to help orient and support any new players we get.

Opener Question
How can the character you apply with support a Team Trek through the Menador Mountains?

Vigilant Seal

I'd like to put forward Ulfgar Ironhead.

He's knowledgeable about nature and scouting, skilled in survival and know's how to climb and jump.

He may not talk much (or at all) but he'll get you where you're going (and he's a dwarf so he can see in the dark.)

Verdant Wheel

I'm a newbie who'd love to play!

Awalè and his cheetah companion Bala are most at home in the uncharted wild. They've honed their skills of tracking back home in the savannahs of the Mwangi Expanse. However, they have transversed many types of biomes in search of their prey. Relatedly, their last job before joining the Pathfinder Society was rescuing a scholar lost on Mount Dowama searching for Shory artifacts. So thankful for the rescue they suggested that Awalè join the society.

Vigilant Seal

Hey there! It's me Ms. Bloodrive :D I already know you're an awesome GM ;)

I just made this pc for exploring and recall knowledges, kinda the annoying know-it-all caster who isn't that helpful in battle, quite the opposite to Elize hehehe...

As for the Opener... She is very knowledgeable in a lot of topics and has good perception so she can help identifying stuffs, giving advice, spotting hidden things and she also has magic and a familiar to help exploring n.n

As for her roleplay... She's somewhat eccentric and is rather obsessive and kinda crazy... Is actually based on a character I made for Call of Cthulhu and that I've adapted to a few other games.

Three so far.

Ulfgar Ironhead = Dwarf (Forge) Warrior Ranger (Flurry) 1
Awalè N'ganie = Human (Mwangi) Hunter Ranger (Flurry) 1
Penelo "Penny" Raveneye = Human (Nidalese) Cultist Witch (Rune) 1

I'd like to round us out with another veteran player (maybe two)!

I have a few characters that could come.

Hello, I'd like to participate, if possible. I'm a relative veteran, and I've also already GMed this adventure, so I won't be as proactive. I have either a level 1 Monk or a level 1 Wizard available for the mission (also a level 3 Cleric, but I'm afraid he'll overshadow the others, and a level 2 Ranger, but seeing as we already have two...).

Opener question for the Wizard: "Well, if ye're trekkin' through the mountains, that's why ye always bring a lucky dwarf, right?" A relatively flimsy-looking dwarf shows up, wearing not much beyond his clothes and his clan dagger. "I've been cooped up for far too long, it's time to stretch my legs a little."
Dorgen is a Wizard, with a focus on Necromancy spells. Obviously good at most knowledges, less so at physical skills.

Next to him stands an iruxi, also wearing not much except for his clothing. He's looking rather puzzled at his feet. "Well, why would I be of help during a trek through the mountains? My tribe's literally born on a cliff's edge, we're natural climbers." He wiggles his toes, sticky pads clearly visible. He's a Cliffscale Lizardfolk. "If there's a gap you need clearing or a wall to climb, I'm your guy."
Thrass is a Monk, so he's good at wilderness adventures. No knowledges, but has good Athletics, Acrobatics, and Survival.

I'll leave the decision up to the GM, if they end up choosing me. Also note, I'm European, so my timezone will probably differ from yours. I do check the boards pretty often though, so I hope I won't hold you up for too much.
Both are still GM credits, will need to mainly choose spells for the Wizard and make the profile for the Monk, but that's easily fixed.

I too an a veteran of PF1e, PF2E more DM than player.

Clarification @ Quen Pah + Quentin Coldwater: I am looking for you to apply with complete character aliases (see the three characters above for example).

48 more hours Open Recruitment, Game starts Wednesday!

Cheers.

Vigilant Seal

A human woman of Chelish descent steps up. Her clothing is simple, and somewhat militaristic. She leans on her spear as if it's the only solid thing she can rely on in a world that has come crashing down around her too many times. The buckler on her arm has remnants of a sigil of Lastwall on it.

"My name is Viatoloria Asellianos, but 'Ria' is probably easier to shout on a battlefield. I would be an asset to your team because I was a long-range scout and light infantry combat medic until... recently. I just got back from my first mission for the Pathfinders, and... I need something to do."

Vigilant Seal

@ GM rainzax: My apologies, didn't do that as I had two characters on offer. Decided on the Wizard, so I'll introduce him here.

The scrawny dwarf looks at the assembled party, and then at the iruxi next to him. "Looks like there's enough muscle in the party already, I think ye can take a break here. I think I'll have a grand time with Ulfgar and the rest of the group here." He grins, showing a smile that clearly hides his actual feelings for the mission.

Hope I got all the stats right.

Will PM you all and open Gameplay / Discussion @ Wednesday.
48 hours while you all get your Character Bars in order (see Ulfgar's or Penny's Profiles for an example - their Race/Class/Gender entries).

Horizon Hunters

Thanks for the consideration and the answering of my final question DM. If someone drops out please do not contact me as a replacement.

Vigilant Seal

First time doing a Second Edition PbP, does my bar look okay?
Oh yeah, I'm a Hermit. Sorry about that.

Looks okay but you may wish to add your Ancestry, gender, class (subclass), level and a alignment, also you're missing your hero points, you start with one, you may also add your spells/Class DC.

Vigilant Seal

Hey humanoids! I'm Mofu, Penny's Familiar! Here I made a easy copy paste based on my master's header/bar

Race: Gender Ancestry (Heritage) | Alignment | Class, subclass and level |HP #/ | AC # (+# shield or similar) | Fort +#; Ref +#; Will +# | Hero Points 1/3 | Perception +#; Low-Light Vision and/or other senses |

Class: Spells Lv.1 #/#; DC # | Focus Pool #/#; Class DC # | active condition | Exploration: |

Just replace it with your pc stuffs and the "#" thingies with Number things! It's easy or so says Penny... And She'd never lie to me!

Vigilant Seal

Thanks for that! I'm used to only display information that is of use to others, such as HP, AC, and saves ans such, not class and subclass.

Vigilant Seal

You're welcome!

Looks really good :D

I think that Displaying our class and subclass helps the GM to keep track of our feats, proficiencies and so on, it also makes the header look more formal n.n

I'm open to different "styles" of Character Bar - most players easily cover all the relevant info I need that helps me when scribing posts.

If I need anything extra I usually just ask in the Discussion - each adventure usually requires one extra set of character info to regularly consider.

For example which "Exploration Mode" is your character's default will probably come up in this one (Mountain Trek...)

Adjusted Final Recruitment:

Ulfgar Ironhead = Dwarf (Forge) Warrior Ranger (Flurry) 1
Awalè N'ganie = Human (Mwangi) Hunter Ranger (Flurry) 1
Viatoloria “Ria” Asellianos = Human (Chelish) Field Medic Fighter (Reactive Shield) 1
Dorgen Eversteel = Dwarf (Death Warden) Hermit(?) Wizard (Necromancy) 1

8 Challenge Points @ 4 = Low Tier
