So these could take many forms but I am of the opinion the eidiolon is going to need something other than striking one to three times to make playing them engaging.
Do you agree that eidolons need the option of combat feats and what form do you think they could take?
Dragons and beasts are already covered, and I think a good model for this sort of thing.
Id love to see other two action "iconic" setups like this covered... and maybe some "humanoid" setups too.
Obvious ones for monstrous routines -
2 action
Strike + Grapple (reduced/no MAP) - grab monsters
Strike + Trip (reduced/no MAP) - knockdown, like wolves
3 Actions
Stride, make up to 3 strikes against different targets at reduced penalty - mini trample
Humanoid Routines
2 action
Two Strikes with agile attacks at -2 - Double Slice
Power Attack
Strike, Raise a "virtual" shield
That sort of stuff.
Theres likely limited space for it, though...

I've been looking to add something like those since early in the playtest based on everyone's feedback, they were in my idea list even before then. Possibly also including a constrict/thrash style follow-up for grappling that makes the enemy roll a basic Fort save or take some damage.

Good news there.
I think stuff like this will make a big difference for helping give Eidolons signature identity and some of that monstrous feel people crave.

Nice that sounds like it should really help.

Hey Mark. Any chance we are going to be seeing abilities like Trample/Swallow or other high powered monster abilities as high level feats?

I'm looking into those and would say Trample is probably more likely. Swallow as a go-to has some weird dynamics with the rest of your party.

Swallow was definitely one of the things I enjoyed having around as an option in PF1. If there's a way to make it work, I'd certainly enjoy having it show up some time down the road in another book (possibly as an uncommon option). I'm sure most folks would like more broadly applicable options in the initial release, though!
Hmm, in general, it'd be fun to have something like a Horror Adventures book include some of the weirder, more monstrous options. Especially if there's an archetype to get evolution feats on yourself someday…

Weird dynamics? I'm not planning on eating the rest of my party... *shifty eyes*

Might be too much to ask, but any chance we could get a variation on trample where it's more like a charge through their spaces? I personally don't really want a large (or larger) eidolon all the time, can be a huge pain.
My friend is finding that out with a large animal companion. It's one of the reasons why a nimble animal companion is superior to a savage animal companion in the majority of cases. It's hard to move a large animal companion into many dungeons, rooms, and other areas, especially if you have other classes like a giant barbarian or shapeshifting druid in the group who already take up a lot of room.
This makes real sense. Last time we played it was hard to get the large bear into the fight.

While it might be true, it has also to be noticed that unlike a companion, the eidolon might be unsummoned and summoned past the door.
Eventually, since it's the summoner class, it would be nice not to force the summoner to use the highest size, but to choose between the size the moment you summon it.
This will be a nice trade off.
In a tunnel, the summoner might be able to summon its eidolon even if medium size, while on a church it might be able to become large or even huge.
I'd be pretty comfortable with this, even if it would mean not to benefit from 1/2 feat in close spaces. I'd really appreciate the trade off.

If the party is in a tight environment, the summoner could wait until they reach the room to summon in his eidolon. That would be the smart play.

If there's a room.
I'd prefer more flexibility.
Like a giant barbarian might increase its size to large or even huge, so should be able to do the eidolon.
A beast eidolon might find it useful with Whirlwind Attack ability. Giant barbarians with whirlwind attack and Titan's Stature are pretty beastly.
