So I've recently (finally) gotten my hands on the core books for the latest edition of Warhammer Fantasy RP and I've been itching to give it a go. I've always been a big Warhammer fan and the relatively new edition seems like it should make for an excellent game. I'm curious to see how much interest there would be for a PbP game.
I'm currently looking to start with the first few short adventures in Rough Nights and Hard Days, which are revamped classic adventures that have popped up in just about every edition of WFRP, then run into a mix of some adapted 2e adventures and homebrew stories.

I'm interested as well, but I have to say my only experience with Warhammer fantasy RPG is one time I built a character for a RL game. I do not know what edition it was and the most I remember is two things:
- You had no control over stat allocation
- Arcane magic is not without serious danger
How knowledgeable do you expect players to be about the system?

I made a character for the 4th edition game last night cause I was curious about the system. The short form answer is that you CAN set your stats how you will, but you'd lose out on xp at character creation.
Longer form answer: you roll stats in order, and if you keep the set you roll, you get +50 bonus xp. You can rearrange your rolls without changing them (i.e. swapping what you rolled for str with toughness) and gain +25 bonus xp. Finally, you can just set your stats as you want, but you get no bonus xp.
Same thing goes for races and classes: you roll, and if you keep what you roll you get bonus xp.

That pretty much covers it. I have the ability to share the core with people if I start up a recruitment. There's very little outside, though there is another race in one of the adventures and I'm working on throwing together some homebrew for Imperial Ogres. No need to be an expert on the system, as it's a relatively standard percentile system and shouldn't be too hard to work out.

Okay, so I'm bored. Gonna start rolling some dice.
Species: 1d100 ⇒ 86
Changing to Dwarf, so no Bonus XP.
Career: 1d100 ⇒ 82
Career: 1d100 ⇒ 97
Career: 1d100 ⇒ 62
Happy with rolling what I did after this, cause it's slayer time. +25 xp
Weapon Skill: 2d10 ⇒ (7, 9) = 16
Ballistic Skill: 2d10 ⇒ (9, 5) = 14
Strength: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 8) = 12
Toughness: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 9) = 19
Initiative: 2d10 ⇒ (9, 6) = 15
Agility: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 9) = 19
Dexterity: 2d10 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
Intelligence: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 3) = 13
Willpower: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 10) = 20
Fellowship: 2d10 ⇒ (5, 9) = 14
I'm gonna swap around my willpower and strength, so +25 xp. Here are my final stats after adding in racial bonuses:
WS 46
BS 34
S 40
T 49
I 35
AGI 29
DEX 42
INT 33
WIL 52
FEL 24

Just for the heck of it, let’s see what kind of character I’d get going with the totally random approach from the rules...
Race: 1d100 ⇒ 3
Human it is
Random Class & Career: 1d100 ⇒ 84
Ooo...Racketeer
You are part of an organised criminal gang, collecting debts and extorting money from the weak.
Attributes
Weapon Skill: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 8) + 20 = 32Ballistic Skill: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 9) + 20 = 37
Strength: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 2) + 20 = 29
Toughness: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 2) + 20 = 29
Initiative: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 10) + 20 = 34
Agility: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (5, 3) + 20 = 28
Dexterity: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (1, 5) + 20 = 26
Intelligence: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 7) + 20 = 34
Willpower: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 6) + 20 = 30
Fellowship: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 1) + 20 = 29
Wounds=2+2x2+3=9
Fate=2+2 extra points=4
Resilience=1+1 extra point=2
Fortune=Fate=4
Resolve=Resilience=2
I’m not going to get into the class specific attributes and stuff until our Faceless GM decides to start a campaign.
One cool thing is that by taking random results my racketeer would start with 125 XP to improve his abilities

Funny, I see it the other way, as a reward for staying with the random selection...
Anyhoo....rolling is fun, even if Faceless gets us to roll again :)
