Before you stands a terrible, wretched creature, whose entire life revolves around nothing more than perfecting itself and others through pain and mutilation, or simply inflicting pain on others for the sheer joy of it.

If you pronounce it reeeeally slowly, it sounds a bit like "oranges".

Khai-Taun or Khai-Ton

it's pronounced "kyton", not "kyton".

Also, what does an evangelist kyton (the "default" kind) look like under all it's chains? Just like a normal human?

Rhymes with 'Triton', basically. Long I, o is a schwa.

Well since MW states Chiton is pronounced \ ˈkī-tᵊn, ˈkī-ˌtän \, they are effectively the same. They even have an audio sample.

Wikipedia states Chitons is pronounced /ˈkaɪtənz/; 'k' in 'kind', 'i' in 'tide', 't' in 'tie', 'on' in 'button', and 'z' in 'zoom'.

Kyton is a fictional word, which I don't think has ever had an officially published pronunciation guide...but every person I have ever heard say it, pronounces it with a long I sound, K-eye-ton

On a side note, here are a few often mispronounced words which come up fairly often in TTRPGs: Chitin (as in insectoid and some demons exoskeletons) and Chimera (the lion/goat/snake monster) are both greek rooted words, so both use the hard K sound for the ch. Wyvern is another one which I always hear people mess up. It is pronounced as Why Vern...most people who screw it up pronounce it Whi Vern.

This one. It's just better.

Now if only there was a good way to pronounce Daemon vs. Demon without crossing accents.

The difference between demon and daemon is that if you pronounce the latter reeeeally slowly, it sounds a bit like "oranges".

If you don't know the difference, I don't want you doing any summoning around me.

That is what I do, but they're technically both pronounced dee-mon.
